Nexus 6 5.1 OTA Update Start? - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has the 5.1 update been pushed out to phones yet? I know we can manually download and install but it seems like this update is taking longer than usual to be sent out to phones for those of us too lazy to manually update.

If you already took the November security update to LYZ28N, which is the November security update applied to Lollipop 5.1.1, you are already ahead of most everyone else. No one has even captured that OTA link. If you already applied the update, it is too late for you to capture it for the community. Any such link should be recorded in the reference thread in General where you have already posted.
As for an OTA link to update LYZ28N to Marshmallow, that does not exist yet as far was anyone knows. LYZ28N is the T-Mobile fork, and T-Mobile has not yet released Marshmallow.

I haven't installed the November OTA yet but I've got the message in my notification bar that it's been downloaded. Can I still "capture the link" or is it too late once it's been downloaded? If not, where can I find out how to do it?

I think you can still get the link unless you have performed the install step. (I actually have never done this myself.) The general instructions are in the OTA reference thread. If you succeed in finding the URL, you should post in in a comment on that thread.

Left tmobile ... now what
Is there a way to bring a device running the tmobile fork back around to the mainstream version of android,
I bought my device from tmobile but am currently on verizon, non of the tmobile specific features worked before OR after the move, so nothing to loose there

T-mobil MRA68K to MRA68X

I have a Nexus 6 bought directly from Motorola but with a T-mobil sim from my
last phone. I'm running the MRA68K factory image of 6.0., and have never been
offered an OTA update.
Let me tell you what I THINK I know.
Although MRA68K does include the T-mobile band 12 and wifi calling feature,
for some reason T-mobil was not happy with it due to some bug revealed
in testing. MRA68X is the release they are happy with, and is what T-mobil
users running 5.1.1 are getting OTA. This OTA is not usable for phones running
any of the 6.0 release. There currently is no factory image for MRA68X.
Here is what I don't know:
- Will MRA68X be eventually released as a factory image.? Usually that comes
before not after the OTA. If not it would seem the need to flash a 5.1.1 image
to be able to take the MRA68X OTA.
- Is the T-mobil specific release a one time thing, or will there be a sequence of
T-mobil specific releases as in 5.X?
- I presume that when the phone checks for an update it bases it on the carrier's
SIM. Just curious, is it Google downloading the update but subject to the carrier's
instructions?

I have run all the MRA builds (K, N, R) on T-Mobile and they all support and have fully functioning WiFi calling, Band 12 support, and VoLTE. Not sure what's specific about X but I decided to switch to it just because it's "official".

How did you switch? Did you flash a 5.1.1 factory image and then take the OTA?

For X I flashed the factory ProFi 5.1.1 then sideloaded the 48I to 58X OTA.
T-Mobile and ProFi will both use X.

I hope there's a factory release. Please post here if anyone gets it

According to the T-mobile document
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-18109
It's only the L* releases that can be updated with the OTA.

I don't see where it says *only* L releases get the update but it may just be a matter of semantics.
"To be able to update to the current software version, the below requirements must be met:"
^^^ I take this to mean that you must have at least L to get the update. If you are on M already then you still meet that requirement. That's just my thoughts though. Dez is always in the know and that's what he said. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I noticed that your signature says "Nexus 6 rooted". If that is in fact the case, you will not be able to install any OTA. Neither via sideloading nor "over the air". The installer looks at the system file, and if there is ANY change from stock (including being rooted), it will abort the install. I've had it fail, even with a couple of apps frozen.
It looks like the document
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-18109
has been updated. It now list MRA68K as eligible for the OTA to MRA68X. Earlier
it just listed the L* releases.

yeah tried on a clean flash without root, still not luck
i installed mra58k clean rom from the andriod dev page until someone makes an X rom
Wow
And for those with MRA58N currently, there was a hint that TMO would OTA push MRA58X as well.
I am starting to think that was Des speaking before he had the details

TMO's update site is questionable in and of itself.

Where's our new MM update? Anybody has any idea?

What's wrong with Sprint, why didn't they release the new update? The unlocked device was updated almost a month ago, which means the software was sent to Sprint! How can we figure out when will Stupid Sprint release that?
The carrier devices are always 2-3 months (if I remember correctly) after the unlocked devices.
That much?
As per the tweet by Mo Versi (VP of HTC) we should be receiving on Jan 4th. Most of the time, things got delivered on the date he announced. Hoping for Jan 4.
That's a negative

It is likely going to be within. 7 days from now.
There's no where to find this out, which is annoying. Thanks for the updates.
It's solely on the carrier right now though, so who knows absolutely for certain.
I had it
I had a system update appear in my menu bar this mornjng. Without reading the message completely I installed it. It did so pretty quickly. And then nothing installed. I know it said "marshmallow" and 6.0. I don't know what happened.

Thanks. I remember those with past updates.
Do you have the update number?
Well I don't like sprint rom with horrible black dial pad and bloatware. Who would want sprint mm? Why not custom rom dev edition based?
yeah, that was an update to prepare for MM upgrade. But I can't see what's the numbers of the update, where can I find it anywhere? The real ROM didn't come yet.

Just saw it, and was about to post,
Unfortunately the RUU downloaded from HTC website won't work with my factory locked original phone, what the f.
After reading the webpage carefully, using the RUU from there to program will erase all the data on the phone, so I don't know if that's what I want. I'm just becoming too lazy to deal with all of these

Sprint Note 8 Oreo Roll Out

Sorry to be creating another Oreo thread but the ones I'm finding either aren't Sprint phones, are closed, or are months old with no replies.
Has anyone on Sprint with a note 8 gotten Oreo yet i heard the roll out would be starting in March.
Also can we expect an update to the Samsung experience version anytime soon?

You do have to Odin back to stock and do the OTA update from the carrier if you want to receive OTA updates

Did anyone get the 8.1 Oreo OTA Update?

Since the release notes for the 8.1 update have been put up on motorola's website (https://support.motorola.com/us/en/solution/ms129979) it must mean that the ota has started rolling out to some models/regions. Did anyone get the update notification/ota yet?
No
