[Q] Gmail Force Closing - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm stock 5.0.1 and far to often when I open Gmail I just get a white screen and have to wait until I get the message to Wait or Close the app.
I've tried wiping data, but it still happens.
Anyone else get this?

go to the main phone settings, apps, gmail.. now clear the data for gmail. or you can try uninstalling it then reinstalling.

Thanks, as I said though, I've done this

help with g-mail

I'm having problems with my gmail on my phone, everytime i try to check my gmail it gives me a screen that says your email will appear shortly and then it force closes. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem?
Give more specifics... rooted? which rom? no ones going to give you a straight answer if we don't know anything about your phone.
sorry about that,it's non rooted and i just got the new 1.5 update(the one that was for security reason supposedly) but it's been happening before I got the first 1.5 update(cupcake) and i don't know what to do.
Try this:
1. Open Settings > Applications > Manage Applications
2. Open GMail, select Force Stop, then Clear Data. Go back to the Manage list.
3. Open GMail Storage, select Force Stop, then Clear Data.
4. Reboot your phone.
worked like a charm, thanks for the help

[Q] android.process.acore force close when opening contacts

Since I today I get the 'android.process.acore' force close when I try to open my contacts. I tried a lot of the solutions that are mentioned here and on other places but I still get the error.
I tried deleting all my contacts, and clearing all data from the contact storage and contacts app, but even then I get a force close... I also checked the LCD screen density which causes problems when at 180, but mine is at 240.
Does anyone have a solution for me? It really sucks not being able to use my SGS contacts app...

[Q] Messaging App wont start

This happens right after updating to lollipop. When i tried to open messaging app it doesn't load my conversations and freezes in white screen. Ive tried Clearing Cache and Clearing Data but nothing happens. Help please

Message Not Sent Notification

This annoying piece of **** keeps popping up in my notification bar. I've updated to the most recent update, deleted all my SMS convos, restarted my phone, etc, and it STILL keeps popping up. When I click the "Touch to review message and try again." it just brings me to the SMS app. How do I deal with this?
So this same thing is happening to me. I have deleted all text messages, clearded cache from the messaging app, forced the messaging app to stop then cleared data and cache, tried to turn off VoLTE, tried with Wifi calling on and off. I have no idea what is going on here. Anyone have any ideas???
Same problem... It´s too anoying... SMS goes normal, it´s only anoying notification...

Question Notifications

I just need any help. I'm trying to figure out why with apps like Snapchat and Facebook. I'm not getting their designated notification sounds. I go into the app settings and it says the notifications are on but then I go to my phone settings and for those particular apps it's set on my phone's default notification which is really annoying. It doesn't even have a app provided toggle that I could even turn on. Any help would be appreciated.
I had an issue with Instagram's notifications. Even though looking through the apps notifications they were all on, I was not getting any at all. It turned out that I did the Google transfer of apps for my old phone to my new phone, and that was why. What I did was clear all cache and data, and then start over by signing in and allowing notifications when the pop-up showed. I didn't get the pop-up the first time I open the app after the transfer, so I'm 99.9% sure that's why. Try clearing cache and data, and then start over by signing in like you just downloaded the app.

Thank you so much! I kind of figured that out as well because I uninstalled it then reinstalled it and everything was fine after that.
