How root ZR with a locked bootloader and 4.3 updates?

Hi,
I would like to ask how can I root my Xperia zr with a locked bootloader and a stock ROM running Android 4.3? It was updated via PCcompanion without any previous root/unlock bootloader.

You can use the procedure described in this thread. You will need to downgrade to .310 to root your phone for the TA backup before unlocking the bootloader.

Or you can may be follow this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2590174
so you don't need to unlock the bootloader...

searching the forums for vroot I found this thread.... so I guess is not safe to use it.

No! Google for towelroot, download the apk, run it and install supersu from the play store and you are done!

Guys, I just need root access on my Xperia SP (C5302). I'm not interested in installing custom ROMs. If there's a method to achieve it, please post it or a link that would help me. The bootloader is locked and the build is .201.
I tried few vRoot and Kingo, but none helped.
Again, I just need root access.

You can't just root 201 without unlocked bootloader. With lb you'll have to flash prerooted stock ROM
Verstuurd vanaf mijn C5303 met Tapatalk

Downgrade back to 4.1.2 and Root it. From there you can install a recovery and flash pre rooted 201 ROM..

Thanks again for the response. I was wondering that I may lose the data during the process. How to backup the data. I mean is it possible to flash a backup on BL locked XSP?

No you can flash and untick the wipes (also mentioned in my tut) but with the backup and restore app from sony (installed on stock rom etc) you can backup and restore aswel..

I downloaded ftf file from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51706136&postcount=161
But, turns out the android version was still 4.3.
Could you help me out with the link for 4.1.2 file.

Apparently, I downloaded it from that thread itself. Anyways, I'll give it another try.

Hi
I had Desire and Desire s and Xperia Sola and now after all XZR
I Update to 4.4.2 by flashtool and tft file.
then I unlocked bootloader !!
Now I want to root and install recovery
I search about 1.5 day and cant succeed
I use
DooMLoRD_Easy-Rooting-Toolkit_v17_perf-event-exploit
and
rootkitZ_20131112
But nothing happened. please Help me
after that install
ZR-lockeddualrecovery2.7.124-BETA.installer
it seemed in had installed on my phone and all thing finished. but I cant go to recovery. (May be I don't know how to go to recovery)

I am not 4.3 or 4.2 and I cant go to recovery

You have to flash a 4.1.2 or a 4.2.2 firmware with Flashtool (you will find it on others XDA thread of the section. You have to do that because with locked bootloader (LB) on 4.3 you can't root and install any Recovery.
So, go on previous Android version, root it, install recovery, install my zip, and the 2 others zip, then flash the stripped ftf (firmware) on your phone.
for this method you dont need to unlock bootloader

I used to root my 4.4.2 Xperia ZR by Using TowelRoot so easy but I flashed 4.4.4 stock as same as 4.4.2 but when I install tr.apk and click on root it doesn't work and says your device currently is not supported :|

Its what it say...... Not working. I root it by flashing an older kernel, root then with towelroot. Then flash the 4.4 kernel. Thats and fast and easy way to get root again

1. flash stock 10.5.1.A.0.283.ftf via flashtool
2. turn on your device and instal towelroot
3. turn off your device and flash .230 stock kernel via flashtool
4. turn on your device and root via towelroot
5. turn off your device and flash .283 stock kernel via flashtool
6. turn on your device and instal SuperSU from Google Play
Now you are Rooted

I have C5502 too.
have you downloaded complete stock firmwares 230.ftf and 283.ftf ? So you have kernels inside it.
In this picture is tutorial how to flash only kernel from any firmware.

Just follow the above step then you are done. You just need to flas the kernel ONLY.

Xperia Z1 C6902 Lollipop 5.1.1- Root Methods?

How can Root Xperia Z1 C6902 Lollipop 5.1.1 without pre-rooted rom. Is there other methods to root my Xperia Z1 C6902 Lollipop 5.1.1 . My xperia is installed with orginal Lollipop 5.1.1 stock rom. I want to root it. But i don't need Pre-rooted Rom, is there any method for rooting it. And also i don't want to downgrade it for rooting.

Every Android version has a root exploit, that is a nightmare for security, this has to stop...
just my 2cents, in general you should be glad if there is none

No there isn't. towelroot is super old and doesn't work with 5.1.1, and there is no one-click method for 5.1.1 on the Z1. Only pre-rooted flashable zips are working right now.
Please don't give advice if you don't actually know what you're talking about ...

@ubrider you don't need to be rude - I suggest you delete your comment for your own sake.
As of the moment, there are no known 1-click root process for Xperia Z1 running 5.1.1 Lollipop. You can however downgrade your phone to Kitkat by flashing a Kitkat FTF using Flashtool. You can also downgrade to 5.0.2 and root it using Kingroot which is a 1-click rooting process. Once you have gained root access you can replace Kingroot with SuperSU if you want, install a custom recovery then install a pre-rooted 5.1.1

You can create your own pre-rooted 5.1.1 firmware with prf creator, from yours ftf. Then flash back to 5.0.2 without wiping data root with any oneclickroot solution that suits you and have a superuser or supersu.
And install xzdualrecovery. Then flash your pre-rooted firmware w/o wiping data.
This way you won't lose your apps data and won't need to unlock bootloader.
That was what I did installed xposed etc. No problems faced.
Or you can wait till kingroot updates it's all up to you

Finally the one click method is here.....

I've rooted my Z1 C6902 running on 14.6.A.0.368 using kingroot and replaced it with SuperSu successfully. Now I would like to install a custom recovery on it.. Somebody help plz..

You can go to =- [NUT]'s XDADevelopers downloads -= and download the Executable file for Windows OS that will install a recovery on your rooted phones.

Nut's dual recovery 2.8.21 works perfectly on our devices.. I got it working.. Click THANKS if it helps

No Luck On My C6902
My C6902 is running the latest firmware......i tried the [NUT]s DualRecovery....through ADB....it says Recovery is installed.....but the device boots normally......i rooted with KingRoot and Successfully Replaced it With SuperSU......still no luck....help me guys....

Try installing NDR Utils from playstore if it is not present in your phone. Try booting to recovery using the app. Don't forget to post your observations..
