Likely your flash was interrupted. Try flashing again and make sure the progress gets all the way through. My last time took the attempts to get a clean flash. Had to keep it in the foreground and not do anything else on my computer.

Also, make sure you have the lastest mofo (version 0.0.2).

So I tried to flash the hotspot rooted image also the just plain rooted image. Which image do you suggest I use? Yes my first flash got interrupted. So are you saying that since I get to the white android screen that's a good sign?

Shouldn't matter but I'd stick with the original root image. Android logo isn't a good sign you are just stuck in a bootloop. If you can't get the regular rooted image flashed then you can go here for rsd plus stock, but I'd only do that as last resort since good chance of loosing all your data - http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-turbo/development/quark-stock-firmware-moto-maxx-droid-t3063470
If it still won't flash the root image, you might want to hit the Mofo Thread and ask for help since a few others are having similar issues of not being able to get 100% through a flash - http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/paid-software/mofo-root-turbo-t3064404. They seemed to have identified issues if you installed more then one usb driver and/or are using a usb 3.0 port.

All good now - lost data but wiped phone then flashed - it work finally

hi every body, i have the same issue, i decide to udpate my phone to lollipop and everything was working fine except for one error that was doing my phone every time i use settings, and i decide to wipe the cache under recovery, when i tried to do it, the phone get stuck in erasing cache and then after some minutes here i turn off and on again the phone and make the same procedure and this time the wipe was very fast and then i restart my phone and here is the problem now, it get stuck in android screen and is not coming back from here, i tried to make a factory reset and nothing happens it is still on android screen and i dont know what else i can do, my bootloader is locked.

Keeps restarting for no reason - rooted

I rebooted my phone to install a font and now it continues to turn on (HTC logo) and then restart. Tried to get into recovery and it just exits...
I had my phone off at night and turned it on - read a few text messages - and went to replace the ****ty font I installed yesterday.
Just looping.
Any help?
Can't even turn it off lol - I would need to go into bootloader and click power down. It is odd - I didn't do anything and it started up perfectly before 5 minutes I did the fonts.

I flashed the recovery with CWM and installed Android Revolution HD 6.1
I was just wondering if it was safe to re-flash the recovery again to see if it would work. I don't want to screw up this phone lol.
EDIT: Got it. Reflashed the recovery and had to reflash the ROM.
I don't know why a simple font change would screw ALL of that up. I don't want to keep flashing this ROM lol it has been about 4 times now.

The ROMS this phone and everything is new. Give it a little time unless you want to guinea pig for use :cyclops:
I had the same thing when I flashed a power menu mod made for this phone but not for my OTA. Really weird thing is when I cleared the cache android booted did its upgrading thing and then restarted and went back to stuck at HTC logo.

You need to reflash what ever was on it. Hopefully you made a backup if not and were on stock find the correct nandroid back or RUU for your phone and flash that. You can also try doing a factory reset that may bring it back.
agreed...try to re-flash everything to stock than go from there to find what is causing the problem.

Stuck on Moto

Let me start by saying, this isn't my first rodeo,i've been rooting since the beginning of the G1,but this one has me stumped.
Ive got a Moto Atrix HD, rooted and bootloader unlocked running Batakangs Deodexed stock. It started feeling kinda laggy so I decided to jump into recovery (CWM 6) and delete the Devlik cache Battery stats etc. basically everything but user data so I didn't have to start from scratch. Ive done it in the past and it speed things up considerably with no ill side effects. So I did it thins time and immediately got the "unable to access recovery log/command" error. So I decided to reboot recovery and try it again and the same error came up as soon as it booted into it. I decided to just use rsd and do a complete fresh stock att install, but it wouldn't go to fastboot and rsd didn't see the phone neither did adb.So I tried a full wipe. Didn't work. So idecided to do a rom reinstall and see if that fixed it.nothing. So I tried another wipe and this time it wouldn't boot back into recovery, stays stuck on the first boot screen. I even went through the trouble to remove the back and unscrew the battery and do a battery pull with no luck. During all this I had RSD pulled up and it never saw the phone to give me something to work with. Im kinda stumped on this one,i can normally figure it out without issues, searched here and I didn't see anyone with the same issue exactly. Im open for ideas. Thanks
Updatek so I managed to get PhilzTouch recovery installed, and got Carbon installed. But still getting the error in recovery. Its finally booting at least tho....Finally got to use MythTools to reinstall the recovery and all is fixed..

problem with factory reset

hello, i recently bought used droid 4, found it to be with some leftover data (sms, and such) so first thing i did was a factory reset only to
find it after a while in extact same state. weird thing is that when i factory reset it after removing some apps or changing anything at all it acts
as if i restored some backup instead of wiping device. it spams me with errors every few seconds too which is quite troublesome to say the least.
i searched the internet for an answer (still looking) to this problem but so far got nothing. i mean there are lots of ppl with similiar issue
but no real answer anywhere i looked. i thought maybe flashing some stock rom (dont wanna try anything custom yet since i got lapdock
too and havent checked if webtop works with custom roms yet). is it the right direction in my case or is there some simplier answer to my problem?
thanks in advance
update: cant root it, cant install official update through rsdlite, cant update through other unofficial ways,
it acts as if everything went fine and each time im back to square 1. it aint my first or second journey with rooting,
changing rom but im not really sure what else can i do. also rsdlite cant detect any information about device (imei,
os version, flex drm boot etc are all filled with N/A
install from sdcard also failed - signature verification failed. keeps gettin better. downloading another rom from
official moto website... not expecting anything though

what official site? use files from my page How to Use RSD Lite to flash a .XML Stock Rom (firmware)
thanks for taking interest
tried factory reset with options You mentioned unchecked, same thing as before.
i did use xml with rsdlite and zip through built in recovery.
tried to find this page i downloaded files but theres too much in yesterdays history, trying those from Your link now.
also tried to update rom ota, but of course theres an error. oh my droid runs 4.0.4, i havent mentioned it before.
also, found in the net schematics for factory cable, was thinking if its worth a shot this way:

from what i read in this post about factory cable it says it boots phone different way than normal thats why i thought maybe
itll be able to successfully update with it. also after every reset of this droid its not a simple matter of apps coming back thru wifi.
wifi is disabled and theyre there right from the start. i can remove some widgets or apps from home screen, i can delete texts,
and after reset theyre all back where they were. its as if every change i made havent been saved. i dont even have to reset phone,
i just need to reboot it to have it all back
phone needs to be in AP Fastboot mode when flashing with rsd lite.
verify md5 checksum for xml file before flashing.
yes, it was in ap fatboot mode, didnt verify the md5 tho.
more importantly, file i downloaded from site You linked passed verification! guess what i found wasnt official updates after all...
i hope this works

same story after formating internal memory.
no changes whatsoever. same homescreen, same widgets/apps present. same system version.
and of course new error every 5 seconds. guess the phone is messed up good.
talk about luck. its second droid 4 i bought. first i bought over a month ago on auction site, it was new. i paid, guy never sent it.
now this one. its like a curse
formatting internal won't wipe, user data, but will wipe backup data.

select wipe data, then select reboot
done, nothing changed.
also, when rsd works it acts as if it doesnt wait for the phone with operations.
it writes reboot, phone starts to reboot, and long time before it boots back either in ap fastboot mode or into recovery
rsd says its already transfering files, it says reboot again (before phone even gets into fastboot or recovery after 1st reboot) and so on.

could try my Unbrick Moto device with moto-fastboot.exe
but unlikely that it will work

[notice] please read!!!

They say once your device is turning on, its not a hard brick, well explain this. My motorola Nexus 6 won't boot, when I try to power it on, it shows the Google logo then shuts off immediately. When I plug in the charger from a complete power off, the white battery sign keeps flashing, it shows for 1 second then shuts off then repeats the cycle of showing the battery sign then shutting off. It boots into bootloader/fastboot mode fine, and I have tried flashing the factory image, forced flash each partition individually, YES ALL OF THEM, YES I HAVE THE LATEST SDK YES THE LATEST FASTBOOT AND ADB, YES I CHECKED THE MD5 OF THE FILES, YES I USED DIFFERENT CABLES PORTS AND COMPUTERS. it flashes fine in terminal all the files go through with result ''OKAY'' but it still shuts off immediately while showing the first google logo after i reboot. It won't even boot into stock recovery after the flash, it just shuts off after the google logo. i tried with costum revovery same result. i tried 5.0 LRX210 and 5.1 LRX22C. This isn't my first nexus, in know that flashing factory image should fix 99% of issues, ive been flashing phones and rooting for years and i know that nexus devices are somewhat impossible to hardbrick. i made sure to exhaust every option i knew of before posting here, Ive tried the toolkit and its options countless times ive had many sleepless nights now over this. Please help.
P.S I didn't purchase officially from google or Motorola, I bought it for $580 from a guy who claimed he bricked it trying to install a font pack ''iFont'' so I figured let me buy it and restore factory image, easy win. Didn't work. He said he rooted it, installed custom recovery and euphoria os rom. Then he installed the fontpack, it told him to reboot to apply changes, and when he rebooted it wouldn't boot past google screen after that. not even to the boot animation, It just shuts off. When its off and u plug in the charger it does the same thing, you just keep seeing the charging symbol over and over because its constantly rebooting. Its a T-Mobile Nexus 6 BTW, model number XT1103. I am now looking at a motherboard for the nexus 6 on ebay which is $300, as this is the only thing i see left to do. Please any help would be appreciated. I can promise a hefty $$$ reward for any individual that helps me recover it to a working state.
I think they say as long as you can get to the BOOTLOADER it's not a hard brick. But as far as the issue itself, I have no idea. You said you flashed the factory images and it still didn't help?
U manually flashed the images correct? Any errors when flashing? Are you using the flash all bat script or flashing each file separate?

Its all BS, there's not really such a thing as a soft. A Brick is a Brick. If your phone is bricked, the only fix is to send it for repair so the manufacturer can fix it. If it can be fixed without doing that, its not a brick.

but after flashing the factory img, you might have to wipe data for it to boot.

NONE of this suggests that your phone is a brick. In fact, it all proves that it is NOT a brick.
*which is not to say that it isn't BROKEN.
"i tried with costum revovery same result. i tried 5.0 LRX210 and 5.1 LRX22C"
Let me ask you this; did it reboot when you booted into a custom recovery? If custom recovery worked, then it seems like the unit can still be saved.
BTW: LRX22C is also 5.0. Specifically, 5.0.1. 5.1 is not available yet.
So a little bit of clarifications first;
HAVE you tried to perform a factory wipe (via recovery) or otherwise FORMAT (not "fastboot erase") the data and cache partitions? No part of your message mentions formatting the data or cache partitions. If the init is unable to manipulate/mount a possibly corrupt data or cache partition (or possibly some other partitions as well), then it WILL REBOOT.
In addition, some logs of the reboot could be useful if you are able to obtain any. A somewhat modified boot image can enable adb and kernel logging at a point from before the reboot occurs.
P.S I didn't purchase officially from google or Motorola, I bought it for $580 from a guy who claimed he bricked it trying to install a font pack ''iFont'' so I figured let me buy it and restore factory image, easy win. I don't think you need a new mainboard.
If what he explained to you is correct, then my previous about fixing corrupt data partitions should solve the issue for you.
Agree with the guy above me. Same thing happened to me on my Nexus 9. Manual flashes all successful but could not boot. Booted into recovery and did a factory wipe and all was well. I know this is the nexus 6, but it sounds like corrupted data.

X2 Black screen

Hello,
I did a reboot and now I can't use my phone anymore. I see the Boot animation but after the Boot up, the screen just turns black. I receive notifications and active display is working, also I can start my camera with the twist but I can't take picture because the touchscreen does not respond. On active display or the power off pop up, the touchscreen is working. So I did a cache partition wipe but this hasn't fixed my problem. The strange thing is that after a couple of frustrated reboots, the Boot animation changed to the old animation with the spinning world. I want to reset the phone via recovery but first I need to backup my data. I have very important Data on my phone like whatsapp log or Photos and videos.. I can't connect my phone to the computer because I have a pin... How I can Backup my data and what caused the black screen?
If your bootloader is unlocked you can flash TWRP. TWRP has the ability to decrypt userdata if you have the password. I don't know if it can decrypt the moto x or not, because TWRP only officially support ASOP type encryption, if motorola uses a different technique for encryption it will say the password is wrong. If it works you can browse and backup files from TWRP recovery.
If it says the password is wrong or you don't have the bootloader unlocked, then you are SOL and have lost everything.
In either case doing a factory reset will hopefully fix your issue.

After the factory reset bootup takes longer than normal, how long did you wait?
If that is not the case, what model moto x do you have? For example mine is xt1095. Also what version of android do you have? 5.0, 4.4.4, 5.0.2, 5.1, etc?

same issue today
also have the same issue, black screen after reboot. moto voice, active display/notifications are responsive, camera too when twisting the phone. moto voice says "unlock your phone to continue" but i currently don't have any screen locks or anything, just swipe. i have a pure edition running on 5.1. Skeptical about a reset since the phone is still responsive.. tried looking for other fixes, but looks like this issue is just coming up today...
This exact same thing happened to me. Updated to 5.1 about a week ago via the OTA. Wiping cache did nothing. Diagnosing it as a software issue, I attempted to sideload the official 5.1 OTA that's posted elsewhere in the forums. It came back as installation aborted, so I gave up on any hope of keeping my data and did a factory reset. Now all it does is bootloop, sometimes settling on the prone android no command screen for a little while. I can boot into recovery and the bootloader, but thats it. Really hoping someone can come up with a solution. XT1096.

I've waited about 30 minutes, in this time my phone just bootet into the recovery by his self. I've contacted Motorola and I'll send my device to repair.
It's a xt1092 with 5.1 RETDE.
I personally think that this issue is caused by the Boot animation update.

Thank you! I don't know how I missed that! Back in business now.

also have the same issue, black screen after reboot. moto voice, active display/notifications are responsive, camera too when twisting the phone. moto voice says "unlock your phone to continue" but i currently don't have any screen locks or anything, just swipe. i have a pure edition running on 5.1. Skeptical about a reset since the phone is still responsive.. tried looking for other fixes, but looks like this issue is just coming up today...

I have the exact same problem. Any fix?
Edit: Can't get adb to recognize phone. Phone is rooted.

Have you tried reflashing the system image from the bootloader?
is that possible without adb? If so, can you tell me how?

You still do everything through terminal. You have to cd to your folder that has adb and fastboot enclosed, usually platform-tools. Instead of starting each command with "adb", you'll start with "fastboot" and you'll be flashing these while your phone is at the fastboot screen.
The full image files are in the forums, and all the commands you'll need, in order, are posted in this thread earlier
I have found that some time the fastboot from Moto wouldn't recognize the phone. I, then, use the mfastboot-v2 found somewhere around this forum works great.
Me too faced this problem few days back. Only option left to do was factory reset.
Read below just to go through of what i faced:
( I had gone through bunch of articles for restoring my data but i had a pin lock because of which while connecting to pc it couldnt detect phone.
Other things i tried includes flashing lockscreen bypass zip via stock recovery. There i faced signature verification failed error because i had done it through stock recovery where it doent let u toggle signature verification on/off as in CWM. )
And for those who wants their data back , i found many articles of data recovery after factory reset. But it needed your device to be rooted. All you have to do is after factory reset dont make use of phone and after rooting you can recover your phone by software as EASEUS android recovey, Dr fone android recovery. Thats all .
I am too facing this issue as of last night,, I have the verizon version (complete stock, no root, locked bootloader) and I am not sure how to go about fixing this without losing all my data.. I tried wiping cache but it did nothing.. Can anyone provide some kind of troubleshoot guide please? It would be much appreciated.
A friend of mine is also having the same issue.
I tried the 5.0 image and it won't flash.
I'm locked and without root. Is it even possible to flash even the factory images? (And yes, I've tried to go to the Customer Portal for the Moto X and that isn't giving me anything)
Edit: Finally got it to flash the stock image. Didn't help. Factory reset fixed things.
Note: I had this problem and was able to fix it through a factory reset, but I had to do it through minimal adb and fastboot. The bootloader factory reset option didn't work.
I am having the exact same issue. Has anybody had a luck resolving it short of a factory reset?
My phone battery died last night. I plugged my phone in, let it get about 15% charge, then tried to turn it back on. The phone boots like normal, but after the boot animation goes away, the screen is black. Active notifications still seem to work, and I can hold the power button to get the Power Down option. I can boot into the bootloader & access recovery just fine. However, my phone is fully stock (no root, no bootloader unlock, no anything). I can't seem to access ADB when the phone is powered normally (ie, when I'm at this mysterious black screen), but it's possible that USB debugging isn't even enabled.
So far, I've found a bunch people who've said a full factory reset will fix the problem, but I'm looking for another solution, or at least a way to grab my data before I reset. Since my bootloader's still locked, I can't seem to use fastboot boot to boot into TWRP, and I can't find any other way to access my data to copy it off the phone. I've tried wiping the cache using the stock recovery to no avail. Any suggestions?
