No, since TWRP has not been released for the NP yet. The toolkit only unlocks bootloader and roots.

Will you be updating this soon since there now is a TWRP available for the NP? Looks like a super simple tool to use

I will definitely be adding TWRP flashing for the NP in the next update of the toolkit.

2.3 and 2.4 do not seem to be working. They keep suggesting that the Nexus Player is an htc device when attempting to unlock the bootloader

Any development here?

Can't even get mine to read
I get into recovery mode but then what? What steps from their because the device still doesn't get recognized.
Thanks,

WinDroid Universal Android Toolkit v2.5 Now Out!
I'm happy to announce that the WinDroid Universal Android Toolkit v2.5 update is now out! As always, let me know what you think and report any bugs you encounter! :highfive:

Do you have to have your NP connected directly to the pc for this? or can I ADB through the network?

just picked up a NP player today. installed the drivers and such as prompted when i started the toolkit. But just says "unauthor" at the bottom. says nothing is connected. Does the NP need to be plugged into a TV at the same time? I dont have a laptop so i have to plug it into my PC on 1 side of the room in order to use the toolkit.

I use the same toolkit and yes it has to be connected to a TV as you have to put the np in recovery mode. I modify them so you can get every channel available.

I just bought two of these awesome players had all sorts of issues with this toolkit even working and the other main toolkit nothing would unlock my bootloader..
Downloaded WUGfresh NEXUS toolkit and that didnt work either so i ran manual mode from wugfresh then did the unlock code myself low and behold it worked lol

we have had a nexus player for almost a year now and are currently working on a friend's to unlock the BL and root to put Kodi on for them. now... my question..
has anyone successfully unlocked the bootloader AFTER taking the 6.0 OTA? we thought "hey to make it easier on ourselves and them we will just leave lean back instead of going with lollirock, take the update and put kodi on for them" we were a little over zealous because now our desktop (linux)terminal won't recognize the device and we have tried mannnny cables we know to work.
any advice or anything helps.. you know how it is to get the gears turning ? hoping that we didn't update and now there's no way to do it. I have a feeling ..

You can unlock it via adb/fastboot, type the following in the command shell. Fastboot oem unlock. You may have to type it twice but beware as it will erase everything on the nexus player.

I have a Vivid that has been "abandoned" since I got my GS4. I did like that phone, but didn't do much after rooting (still stock ROM, I believe). I still have my unlock code bin file and would like to get this device up and running again after I get a new battery. Is your utility something that I could use to update my device?

So I've got the toolkit installed in my PC and my device connected via USB...now what? What files would a person need to update a device from Android 2.3.4 to the most updated version? Again...I am on stock rooted AT&T ROM.
Is there any way to S-OFF the phone without doing anything hardware related?

It should. The method to unlock, install recovery, and root has not changed.
This doesnt seem to be working for me. I have an HTC M8 H/K edition with an unlocked bootloader. I tried installing twrp and it goes to fastboot and does nothing. I waited for about 10-15 minutes before pulling the cable and restarting the phone. Any idea what may be causing this?

It's possible that the toolkit sent the fastboot command before the phone actually booted into fastboot, which made it lose the command. Try rebooting into fastboot first, let your computer recognize your phone, then flash TWRP.

[UPD] Does anybody try to install TWRP with WinDroid Toolkit at 60.12 bootloader?
Just tried to unlock AT&T Moto X 2014. "your device does not qualify for bootloader unlocking" it seems like a no go from Motorola website to unlock bootloader.

Yeah, it's currently Windows only. I'm considering ways to port it to Mac and Linux though.

No
Bootloader unlock is not working for note mi pro.
It looks like Xiaomi locked the bootloader in one the latest updates, so the toolkit may not work if you've updated recently. I'll see if I can include an official way to unlock the bootloader for the next toolkit update.

So you don't have to wait for the update, you can follow the instructions here to unlock your bootloader. Then, you can flash recovery and root with the current toolkit. :good:

I'd love to, but I'm not that good of a coder and I only have a Windows computer, so I'd need help from other people to do that. Hopefully I can get some help from devs in the future. :fingers-crossed:
