Add Moto Actions etc - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there anyway to add Moto display, actions, and etc that is on Moto X 2014? I understand if this is possible I'd have to run a custom ROM.

At the moment, No.
The Moto X Pro that is releasing in China is a rebranded Nexus 6 with no Google services/apps. However will have all the Moto apps such as Display and Voice w/ all the others.
Some people have been theorizing since it will have the same chipset and internals as our Nexus 6 that a system dump of the X Pro could allow the possibility of porting over these features.
No word on when there will be a system dump or if there will be one or even if porting would work. All we can do is wait.

as of right now there is nothing. if you install the apk for the new moto voice it will install but you cannot finish settign up the hotword detection probably because of hardware issues.
When motorola announced the new X they said they will bring the moto suite to deviced whose hardware will support it. but i see no reason why the 2013 moto x won't get the update seeign as those its hardware was designed with voice recognition in mind. the chip has 2 cores set aside for that purpose but for now time will tell. im sure if for some reason moto doesnt bring the suite to the old X someone will than port them to the old X
i find it...

[Q] Features from the Moto X (2014) to be backported to 2013 Moto X

Hi all,
Just wanted to start a discussion about the feasibility of porting all of the Moto X (2014) features to the Moto X 2013.
I'd like active notifications with the 3 icons; also the feature that keeps the screen on if you are looking at the screen.
Not so important (for me at least) is custom "OK google now" command, and i guess the floating notifications dismiss can't be done...
Any thoughts on the hardware supporting this since we have the X8 coprocessors and Moto X (2014) uses the snapdragon SOC to implement these feature?

Android 5.0.1 (Pure edition)

For all of those who have the pure edition, shouldn't we already have 5.0.1 update? My understanding was that that the updates on the pure edition should be just like the nexus devices. Is this not the case?
No, updates on pure edition are not just like nexus devices . You've been misled. However, the moto x does get updates quicker than most other devices. Again, however, It all depends on the update.
For instance, I heard/read somewhere that the fixes in 5.0.1 are not needed for the moto x because Motorola had already squashed them themselves in the 5.0 update. So Motorola has no incentive to work on releasing a 5.0.1 update. Take that with a grain of salt. I have no sources, (can't remember where I heard it) but someone may chime in with more info supporting that or rebuking it.
But, no, nexus devices will always see updates first.
There was a second build of 5.0 pushed to the PE, but it doesn't fix the problems with Attentive Display or the ringer volume changes on Moto Voice (among other things).
Well, 5.0.1 hasn't even rolled out for the nexus 5 yet, they're still fixing things. Motorola has already released 5.0.1 for the Moto G, so we can expect it soon enough for our moto x as well, once they finish squashing all the bugs. They need to work on Moto Assist, Moto display etc to play well with lollipop so might take some time compared to the moto g which doesn't have any of these additional features

[Question] Feasibility of porting Moto features

I'm definitely getting in over my head with my current knowledge/capability, but I'm thinking this would be a really cool project to work on for a few months or so. My idea is the following:
It seems that, so far, no one has been able to get a custom rom on the Moto X 2013 to use the low power cores at all, and from recent information it's pretty clear that the original Moto X will not get the MM upgrade. What I've also seen is stock-modified roms that use APKs from the more recent 2014 edition to get features such as "karate chop" for flashlight. Because of this, can it be assumed that the protocol for communicating with the low power chips is the same between the s4 pro and the 801? Could it be possible to take the Moto specific parts of the LP kernel (which the source for is widely available), put them into a marshmallow kernel that doesn't mess with the APIs used by Moto Voice and Active Display, compile an MM rom that runs on that kernel, and modify specific Moto apps to check for a different android version and model name?
