VZW S6 and Android Auto - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

After up grading to the S6 64GB from my S5 and finding out that VZW S6 still doesn't work with Android Auto. Has anyone found a work around yet?

I think we just have to wait for an update for the head unit, just like the update they had last month that added support for more phones. Looks like it'll be that all over again.

[Q] Can I expect the same updates/schedule for the S6 Active as the S6?

Everything I have read about the S6 Active states the internals are exactly the same. Does that mean when the S6 is updated on At&t, I can expect to get the update on the S6 Active? :fingers-crossed:
Does your current S6 force updates on to your phone without any way to disable it?
Edit: I assumed that you have an S6 as well, sorry.

Amazon N6 on T-Mobile

I should have my Nexus 6 from Amazon tomorrow evening. From what I can tell, what Amazon is selling is the generic US version that works on all US carriers.
I wasn't planning on buying a new phone, but my Note 2 took a dive off the table a week ago and landed on the tile floor, shattering the glass. The six inch screen, on the Nexus 6, coupled with the huge sale on Amazon made my decision for me I'll probably try to replace the glass on the note 2 later, so I can sell it. I never used the S-Pen. I bought the phone for the large screen.
I have read quite a bit on the forum, but haven't seen answers to my questions. It is possible that I missed something.
I am a bit confused about the listing of 5.1.1 ROMs on the Google site. They list a ROM that doesn't say who it is for, a ROM specifically for T-Mobile and a ROM for everyone but T-Mobile.
My carrier is T-Mobile. What exactly is the difference between the T-Mobile ROM and the others? If is is only WiFi calling, then I don't care, as I don't use it. If there is more to it, please elaborate.
When I get the phone, I'll note which ROM it has, then let it do an OTA update over WiFi to see what ROM it updates to. Once I put a T-Mobile SIM in the phone, will future OTA updates be the T-Mobile only version or the generic version?
Thanks.
Every rom works on this phone - but only SOME support WiFi calling (T-Mobile specific)
They should explicitly say whether they do or don't support WiFi calling (most don't)
If you don't care for this, use whatever you want. It will work just fine. You can use whatever rom you please.
Once it's using T-Mobile service you'll get only T-Mobile specific updates. If you're rooted or on a rom, OTAs won't happen - so don't expect that.
Just to follow up, the original Android version that was on my phone was 5.0, Build LNX07M. The following four OTA updates were applied via WiFi (no SIM yet).
5.01 Build LRX22C
5.1 Build LMY47D
5.1.1 Build LMY47Z
5.1.1 Build LMY48I
What I find curious is that the last update wasn't LMY48M, which seems to be the latest. Does anyone know what the difference between 48I and 48M is?
I really like this Nexus 6 so far. Although it is taller and wider than my Galaxy Note 2, it is much thinner and lighter. I love the extra 1/2 inch of screen and the higher resolution.
Tomorrow, I go to T-Mobile and swap my micro-SIM for a nano-SIM.
Thanks.

There is an AT&T firmware update for the Note 5 and the S6 Edge plus. If you can, see if there's something waiting in System Update.
I have the same problem on my Note 5 but since I'm in England, so far I'm out of luck. If you can update and it works, please let us know.
Not sure if you have resolved this yet but I had the same problem. For me it was because I had used Package Disabler and had disabled com.facebook.system. Once I re-enabled that, tha apps all installed fine. I found this from someone elses post in another forum I think. Good luck.

easy solution is to go to samfirmware and download the latest available rom for your model.
Worked for me. Using S6 Edge+ from Bell Canada

If I buy a new/basically new AT&T S6 Edge, What version will it most likely be?

As the title says, If I get a brand new/basically new AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, what build number most likely be? I know its kind of a dumb question and the answer might be the newest. But I want to see if I get rid of my S6, and get a S6 edge, if I will be able to root it right out of the box. I'm tired of waiting around to see if a root will come out for the S6 on my version or higher but its just not happening.
Bump
Although I can't provide a definitive answer, I just purchased one about a week ago and can post my build info for you:
Model: G925A
Android Version: 5.0.2
Baseband(build) version: G925AUCU2AOF4
kernal: 3.10.61
There's still an update that is waiting to be installed on my phone as soon as I connect to WiFi. My guess would be that it's most likely 5.1.1. Anyway, in case your wondering there is no rootable solution for this device and you will most likely have to stick with the stock phone.
edit: Sorry, I didn't thoroughly read your post. You will most likely not be able to root the device. Although PingPong root works with the Galaxy S6 Edge on Android 5.02, this particular build (OF4) is not compatible. I may as well have the 5.1.1 update but I was holding out hope just in case a solution comes along.
Ok thank you. That was the info i was looking for. I'm getting a new S6 edge soon hopefully I can root. But if not, so be it.
I got one at at&t on Friday and it's 5.1.1
5.1.1

S6 Active Update

Just got an update notification on my S6 Active to update. I'm at work and can't check what it is but thought I would let the people know.
Looks like it is just a security update Had my hopes up for MM
Yea someone posted in the 6.0 update thread it was the april security update. The notes are available on the AT&T support page for the s6 active. That means the S6 Active is probably 1-2 months from 6.0 if they bothered to release the security update. I'm hopeful that since the S6 hasn't seen the same security update that they are planning on releasing it "soon-ish".
I was really hoping to see MM on this phone before I got my HTC 10 but I doubt we will see it before the pre-orders ship.
