[Q] N910F - LTE Enabled on T-Mobile via CM12 - Galaxy Note 4 General

Hello everyone,
For the longest time I was not able to get LTE connection on my Note 4 international variant (N910F). I called T-Mobile about it, since I knew the phone had the capabilities to connect, and T-Mobile told me that I should have bought their phone if I wanted LTE, and that they could not help me.
Giving up all hope on LTE connection, I started installing roms to see what cool features where out there. I installed several different roms, and still I had no LTE (not that I was thinking of getting it). Then I installed CM12 and LTE appears! I check the speeds and indeed I was connected to LTE on T-Mobile line. Everything was great until I found out CM12 has three great bugs that I cannot live with: 1) No apps to SD possibility and 2) Access to the camera, from any app, crashes. I have to reopen the app a second time for the camera to function (Messenger has no access at all) and 3) Various app crashes.
So I returned to stock rom, but I miss the features of a custom rom (especially ViPER) and LTE. I tried other roms but I can't find any with LTE working.
Do you know what part of CM12 enables LTE? And if I can flash it into another more stable custom rom?
Thanks

With stock formware on N910F, the LTE icon is displayed as 4G. Try checking your connection again by going to Settings>About Device> Status... then under Mobile Network type.. you can see if you are actually connected to LTE.. There is also an app called Network Signal Info on play store. Good luck

I checked the connection on mobile network on stock ROM and the highest option I had was 4G. Maybe I'll email CyanogenMod and ask them. Thanks though

Yup....
On international phones, LTE signal is represented by 4G icon. So if you see 4G on your phone, it's actually LTE. You were already getting LTE in the first place. You did not have to flash roms and void warranty.

Do you see "LTE" as in the picture below?

When i did that it displayed HSPA+... And on speed tests it would go maybe 500kbps.. Now with CM12 I have LTE and downloads 3.5Mbps

Yes. Sometime this week I'll reinstall stock and share an image of the connection.

HTC Vivid and 4GLTE in New York City

Well they hit the switch on December 1st of this year, been getting a strong LTE signal since then. Been keeping an eye on the data going in and out of this phone. I have noticed that during phone calls the network switches back to “4G“ and when calls end the “LTE“ reappears. Does anyone here maintain an LTE signal during phone calls by any chance?. Or is this just preliminary tower behavior for testing?

That's how LTE works on AT&T. When on a phone call it switches back to HSPA+. I think it will always be like this but I'm not 100% positive. Never been an issue for me. It switches back and forth very quickly and I hardly ever use data while I'm on the phone.
Well it seems LTE coverage is expanding in the NYC area as of today. I'm now getting LTE signal in the boroughs. Bronx and Queens to be exact.

[Q] Would the T-Mobile HTC One work on Wind Mobile in Canada?

If I scavenge around this site and Google hard enough, I can find this question asked a few times, but none have definitive answers. This is a phone that I'm extremely interested in purchasing, as the Sony XPeria Z and Samsung Galaxy S 4 don't have an appeal remotely close to that of the HTC One's. Wind Mobile is a hard carrier to find phones for it seems, but I'd really love to use this phone on my network. Since the international and LTE variant lack the AWS 3G band to support Wind, would the T-Mobile version be compatible? On T-Mobile's website, it states that the UMTS Band IV is 1700/2100, which should be compatible with Wind's 3G network. I would just like to confirm this is true? Normally, I don't like to start new threads to a simple natured question like this, but I'm pretty much desperate to confirm whether or not I can use this phone. That way I'll know whether or not to get excited, or just stick with my S3. Thanks, it's much appreciated.

Was on wind in the past, yea it's hard to find devices for this carrier because it's strictly on AWS for its data and services.
The HTC One might work...but if I recall correctly you need 1700/1900/2100 frequencies for HSPA+ or something.
If it's anything like the original Galaxy Note, you may have to flash a radio or something to make it compatible with wind IF this phone is pentaband. If it isn't, f forget it because no amount of radio flashing will work if it the hardware doesn't support it.

I'm out of country right now, so once I'm back I will post it. By the way t-mobile uses the same bands as wind mobile, apart from having lte also. Other than that there's no differences...T-mobile one has 1700/2100/850/1900

[Q] Signal trouble but don't understand what

So, I installed SlimROM for S3mini and i think it's awesome.
However, I've had some trouble with my internet when i'm not on wifi. The logo says I have 3g but its very unstable. Just now I tested it and the play store worked fine and then suddenly didn't anymore. But if i press Retry for about 10 times, it sudden;y works fine again.

Probably the location you are at does not have the refarmed 1900 towers, where i live if i drop to 3g it would instantly not work and would have to wait till im back on HSPA or H to get decent signal.

You can try a different rom then cause some roms have bad data as its not fully stable on their sources. So for now flash a different rom and see if it improves.
So I would like to Bump this thread. As after trying many different maclaw ROM's, waited for months to see if anything would develop that would help me, It's still not fixed.
So the situation is this: My phone's data works fine in the whole of europe (I just travelled and never let me down). Because so much time has passed I've installed SlimKat ROM, and again my data seems to be unstable.
I'm thinking it's a Modem problem and I wonder if there is anything I can do about this.
Also, once I read that someone had a similar problem, no fix for it though.
Also, If other people are aving similar troubles, please post to get a feel for how often this problem occurs
You can try switching your phone in 2G only mode and see if net is working that way. It will be a little slower than 3G, but try and report Maybe the 3G signal in your area is weak.

Thanks, I'll try this. However, I don't think my 3G sidnal is weak in my area as I've never had the problem with StockRom. Also, I'm having the trouble wherever i am throughout my whole city and in other cities. To me, that doesn't seem to be a signal problem.

Working AT&T LTE for Verizon G2

I just updated my G2 to 4.4.2 and noticed that I am getting LTE for AT&T. I was wondering if anyone else was getting this?

That is very weird... Mine clearly shows Verizon Wireless
Have you ever used a AT&T SIM (AT&T, Go Phone, Straight Talk, Aio Wireless, etc) in your phone?
Is there Verizon 4G/LTE in your area? If you install and try Network Signal Info does it show Verizon or AT&T and what type of signal?
Completely stock?

Weird... Try going to Settings->Tethering & Networks->Mobile Networks and make sure Global data roaming is off, System Select is LTE/CDMA, and Access Point Names is set to VZWINTERNET... If that doesn't work, I would take it in to the local Verizon store, this is not normal and could be an indication that your EFS partition is corrupted.
Guys he's using an att sim card on his Verizon G2. His question is about being able to connect to att lte on a Verizon phone.

Ahh... I see, I misunderstood the issue. I might have to pop my Aio Sim in and see what I can do.

AT&T in your area must have band 4 AWS lte just like Verizon has thus it works. I would try this if AT&T actually had lte in my area, but they do not yet, strictly a pcs carrier here, besides lte.
Yea I was a little weird looking at my phone and seeing the LTE and checking the speeds and getting about 3x faster then HSPA+.

How is yours even like that?
How did you get it to look like that? My Verizon g2 won't even show 3g or 4g. It only shows H. Did you flash your phone? If you didn't have 4g LTE, would it show an H?

Yes... H means HSPA(+) that's what you get when your on high speed (non-LTE) data on GSM. A VZW G2 will only get LTE on AT&T in about 13 markets in the US as that is the only places they have Band 4 LTE, I don't remember them all but Google can fetch a list of them pretty quick I'm sure.

i didn't use the flash method; couldn't find a flashable file with an ATT CSC for the Note9. so...i extracted and copied-pasted the ATT CSC folder/files from ATT's most recent full ROM and manually edited the necessary dat files in the omc and /efs/imei folders on my phone. that being said, neither ATT nor T-Mobile WiFi calling and video calling work, but that's not an issue for me. i use the Google Dialer and Duo for video calls.

thanks for the link; i figured out the codes shortly after posting my message.
Rather than turning off band that provider might actually use in some situations, try turning off band that you possibly won't use, like band 39, or whatever.
See if that fixes preference to band 4, while still maintaining band 12 for odd situation.
I'm only saying this, because in Canada for provider freedom, band 66 is the fastest, and international phones actually prefer to connect to band 4 which is the slowest for this particular provider. Since we don't have access to modem settings since oreo, I found that disabling any of the unused bands (30,46,39 whatever), brings back proper behaviour like Canadian model counterparts, choosing band 66 majority of times, while still maintaining band 4 for building penetration.
Just try, give a few minutes, check on *#0011#, see if you're still defaulting to 12, or something else with more throughput, might work, might not.
