[Q] Where to buy Unlocked Nexus 6 in Italy - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I want to know what's the best store to buy an unlocked Nexus 6 in Italy, specifically in the following places: Palermo, Catanzaro Lido, Bari and Rome. I tried MediaWorld.it but they only sell it on internet, wich i can't afford since it has to strictly be bought with cash on the store.
Thanks in advance.

By unlocked, I'm assuming you mean SIM unlocked. As far as I am aware, only AT&T USA lock Nexus 6 devices. I don't believe any International version (Opposite of North American version) are locked.

International User - Wanna Buy Droid 3

I'm from Bahrain (somewhere in middle east).
I'm a qwerty fan and the droid 3 is the only phone that will suite me.
MyTouch 4G Slide was an option but I don't think I'll get 3G to work here since it doesn't like non-1700 bands.
Is it safe to buy an unlocked version of the droid from ebay? I found some on ebay with bad and good ESNs. but I don't wanna throw $400+ on a dummy unit that I cant use.
The unlocked OEM version is still on pre-order over http://negrielectronics.com and I don't know if the Canadian version is safe to buy.
Will there ever be a Motorola Milestone 3 version anytime soon?
Find a new one on Ebay US, make sure you get the seller to get you an international unlock code and there you have it
Could just buy it from Mobicity like I did?
The normal droid 3 IS available at negri electronics. Some users have reported it working fine in the UK, germany.
We are currently trying to find out whether the XT860 canadian would be the better choise, as it might have better GSM features/performance,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1237302
I bought new xt862 and unlock code from the eBay seller.
But the unlock code was not working..
So I purchased same xt862 and this is working well.
Is it better to buy unlocked phone than buy them separately.

There is a Milestone 3, it's already available here in Brazil.
Its quite risky buying a droid 3 from ebay.
The issue is that many sellers are claiming the units they are selling are unlocked while they are only providing an unlock code that may not work, then comes the issue of activation.
I contacted Negri support and they said that they don't have a date for unlocked xt860 availability.

Are there international Brazilian shops available who are selling the Milestone 3?
(Or only via VIVO?)

[Q] Purchasing a One in the UK

Hi all,
I am travelling to the UK this summer (I live in Israel), and after making great use out of my Desire for almost 3 years, I feel it's time for an upgrade. Now, I have checked a number of shops that offer the phone, however the prices vary by about £10-£20 (Clove, Handtec, Phones4U - even O2, but it's SIM locked for 12 months). So I'm at a loss as to where to order from. Maybe Amazon.co.uk?
After purchasing the device, does anyone know whether or not I can claim VAT back (due to not living in the EU)? That would save a few extra £'s..
I am also concerned about the network bands it uses - I think the one I need is the 801n (900/2100 3G) - do all vendors in the UK sell this particular variant? Also, is this rumour about a 64GB device even worth holding my breath for? 32GB could definitely be more than enough...
Finally, warranty - if anything happens (touch wood that it doesn't), would sending the device via airmail back to the UK be sufficient for warranty purpose? Or is it void if I live outside of the UK?
Many thanks for all help provided
I do not know about the other questions, but you will not be able to claim VAT back in the UK. I believe the UK is the only country you cannot do that in; I have done it in France, Sweden, Germany and some others, but not in the UK. One question, though, how are you going to buy a device that is sim locked for 12 months, or in other words, how are you going to buy a contract-locked device if you do not actually live there? Wouldn't they require green cards, credit cards, proof of residence and such? Or at least that's how it was with AT&T and the iPhone.
Well I figured that the pay&go offer meant you didn't need an address..
Regardless, the vat and sim locked version are the last of my worries compared to the other questions.

Most of the sellers you have listed sell sim unlocked versions of the One but I don't know how the prices compare to those you have.
I have purchased phones from both Handtec (online) and Carphone Warehouse (in store) and always pay for sim unlocked.
As to the model the ones available in the UK will be the M7-UL 801n which is the international variant and should be fine for most of the world but you will need to check the frequencies available before purchase.
Hey again..
I just checked, and it seems that MobiCity have a UK website selling the 801S version, as well as a 64GB version!?
Does this even make sense? That's the Australian/Asian version AFAIK..

Unlocked?

Is there anywhere in the US to buy an unlocked note 5?
Best Buy will be selling the unlocked models but their prices are pretty high.

When Worst Buy states "Unlocked" what does that specifically mean ? To me unlocked = Nexus type freedom, as in unlocked bootloader and freedom to root with ease.
I hope BB doesn't mean unlocked as in SIM card and network only. Because noways that's totally legal for all phones to be unlocked per the U.S Govt. law this year. That should not even be listed as special feature nowadays.

When I went to Best Buy, they had the unlocked stickers on the edge of the table. There was about a $50+ markup on the unlocked models over the carrier ones. According to the Samsung rep, Best Buy is trying to bring more unlocked (Samsung) phones in their stores. The S6 Edge+ 64GB for example was $919.99

I went to best buy today in Milwaukee and spoke with someone from best buy as well as the samsung rep - both said that they did not offer an unlocked phone - and said they were not aware of any best offering unlocked phones. Had to choose a carrier when you bought the phone - I think I saw that you are in HOUSTON ? Maybe that is a test market or something? It aint happening here - (though I really wish it was - I would much prefer buying an unlocked phone that i could use anywhere.

We actually end up having a lot of "test market" experiences here so I wouldn't put it past it. I never actually considered that being the case as most of the Best Buy stores here in Houston contain a fairly large number of unlocked phones. I was actually surprised to see the unlocked S6 edge+ stickers all over the area. They weren't pushing it but they said it is something they offer.

Where can I buy a Galaxy Note 5 GSM Unlocked?

Help on importing a Note 5 to the UK
I was hoping I could get some advice on importing a Note 5 to the UK to use on the o2 network.
My sister is in Chicago for the next 2 weeks and I really want to buy the 64gb black note 5 but I need to know if there is a specific place I should buy it from. Can I buy an unlocked phone from any of the US network stores? Is there a particular version that won't work with the UK 4G network? Any help will be much appreciated.

The T-mobile version their bootloader has always been unlock, not the AT&T version. You have to wait 1 month before you can call T-mobile to get it unlock. I think you might get a service to unlock on ebay soon.
So can I just buy the phone outright from a tmobile store without a contract or anything? Also would samsung stores not sell them unlocked like apple stores do?
Thanks

Looking to get an Unlocked Note 5...Model?

I am looking to get an Unlocked Note 5 in Silver (does anyone have this or have you seen it - does it look as good in person)
My question is:
There are many unlocked versions, but I believe there are several versions that may work in the US
But I am thinking it is one of: N920C or N9200 or N920I (I am thinking it is the N920I, with the "I" standing for International?)
Can anyone tell me which works on GSM in US, T-Mobile
Thanks

I would stay away from the N920C if you are going to use it in the US. I have the N920C and on ATT network it is getting only 3G and the signal is considerably weaker than on other phones compatible with ATT.
What does the N920C stand for. I think I need the "I" don't you.

They are designed for different continents. The N920I is for - Australia, New Zealand, Singapore. The N920C is for middle east, russia, africa, israel ...etc. If you can get the Unlocked T-mobile variant, you're good. Otherwise checkout the willmyphonework.net or the "The Ulimate Note 5 Band Guide."
Are you sure the I isnf for international.
That's what I wanna know. What one is able to be used. There is no such thing as a T-Mobile unlocked version. Yes there is one that works on T-Mobile, ATT etc. If you hear of the specific model I'd be grateful.

Thank you really ALot. I tried that and they got 2 blue checks and a yellow. So the same #frustrating
I bought the N920i version and work perfectly with ATT and TMOBILE. It have an amazing internet speed, i'm talking about more than 45MBPS.
Is a grate phone.
Thank you. I was thinking that was for International. Then I saw some sites (Expansys) who was selling the N9200 and was told they were the same.
thanks so much
Yes, N9200 is pretty much the same as N920i but dual sim card model. It should work in US. Be careful, this model can come from China and Google apps may be a problem.
I have ordered this model from Expansys and it should come from South Korea.
Spoke to Samsung via chat, NewEgg and Best Buy most will work to some degree here . BUT they said the one made for gsm carriers in US is the N920G. It can be had on NewEgg or Expansys but def eBay Amazon and Best Buy for $100 more than other places
just adding my 2 cents worth: i'm using a 64GB Silver SM-N9208 (Taiwan - CSC is BRI) dual SIM Note 5 on ATT & T-Mobile and it's working great. no network issues at all. 5 of the 10 people on my current project use Note 5's (including me); the other 4 Note 5 users are in awe of my device, especially the Silver color and the fact that i can make/receive calls from both SIMs at the same time.

There are so many threads dealing with this issue.
You should either use the above website or use pdadb.net to see which LTE bands a particular model uses and then compare that to the LTE bands your carrier uses (which is what the above website actually does)

Both N920C and N920I should work fine in US except one 3G band for T-Mobile....but when it comes to Software updates...what do you think is first to get official updates? N920I being the Australia model, would it be after N920C? I heard sometimes its after even US models...Thoughts?
