If you don't remember the password for the encryption, you'll need to do a factory reset.

Looks like the encryption is enabled, otherwise it won't ask you the encryption password. Doesn't matter if its stock or rooted. Encryption can be activated on stock phone. If you don't remember the encryption password, you'll need to factory reset which will erase all your data so removing the encryption at the same time.

Don't really understand what you are saying here.

[Q] Help me finding a how-to

Hey guys!
I've been searching for a while a way to disable some things by default (like when I first boot the ROM), and I found out that some values are kept inside /res/values/bools.xml files.
I didn't tested it out yet, but I'm pretty sure that it works on any app, wheter system or not.
But I'm having trouble to find out how to turn off mobile data. The best that I could get so far is to boot the ROM in Plane mode, which I found in SettingsProvider.apk:

For me it is always on. And I don't have a data plan, so this is very unwanted.

Android does not start after turn off.

I installed an Android image from google. Everything works until you turn off your phone. Later, do not turn on, the only thing that displays is a white google sign and a padlock at the bottom. I tryed difrent roms, but was the same. I can send more information.

Problem Solved !
Android did not want to turn on when fastboot was unlocked. When I blocked him, the android turned on. There was no padlock at the bottom.
Do you need to block fastboot to make android turn on? I do not know, but it worked for me.
Does it make sense?

When flashing stock Google ROM via "flash-all.bat" whether the bootloader remains unlocked or not shouldn't make a difference in bootup. The initial bootup may take a few minutes (4-5 minutes (?)) which may be what you confused for a malfunction.
It may be that it took too long and I thought the phone was not working and I turned it off.
Thank you all for your help.

Did u hit format+download on spflashtool ?
I did not. The guides I read said to just hit download. Do you know what settings I should try for format? There's auto and manual and everything it everything except bootloader.
Alright. I did an "auto format flash" with "format whole flash" selected and then redid the download and it still wont detect a fingerprint. The scanner lights up but never picks up the fingerprint.

Any luck fixing it?
Anyone have any other ideas to fix this? I think mine started when I flashed TWRP and going back to stock didn't fix it. In aosp the fingerprint options don't even show up and in stock it shows up but doesn't not detect the fingerprint on touch when trying to save the print.

Extracting data from a dead Pixel 5 with fastboot only??

Hi guys,
My pixel 5 died recently while playing a video. It will not turn on, nor make any sound. There is no haptic feedback as well when I start the device. The only time it is detected is when I boot it up in fastboot mode (Press and hold Power and Vol Down). It is detected as Pixel 5 on windows pc. It is detected under fastboot devices but I can't seem to do anything else with it. I am unable to get an adb connection. I don't remember if usb debugging was turned on or not on my device before it died, it most likely was enabled but can't get it connected via adb.
Note: The phone is bootloader locked
My question is can I recover my data from the phone through fastboot only without a working display?
Thanks.
Perhaps you could try booting into twrp and see if you can access the data that way?
Thanks. I did try that but I can't really boot into recovery as the device is bootloader locked.

Oh no. I hope someone can prove me wrong but I believe your only option now is to send it in for a repair.

This. Without bootloader unlock, your chances of dumping partitions are zero.
@nabeeltariq Are you able to access stock recovery? You may be able to sideload an OTA package to get working again.

Bluetooth often exists due to an exception. It is suggested to uninstall it. Continue anyways?

I started to get this error message after flashing the boot partition. All connections stopped working. I reflashed with original boot partition, which results in wifi working again, but bluetooth is dtill refusing to work. Do I factory reset? I have a file that is important but wont come off because it keeps freezing during transfer process
Search for 'Reset options' and reset wifi/mobile/bluetooth, see if that does the trick.

I've also done that. The phone I tried to root is a Z3551S (came from QLink Wireless, running android 9 and has a ****ton of bloat), which doesn't have ramdisk, or a separate VBMeta partition. Also, the images are from some other source. And when I flashed with the rooted partition, Magisk showed the phone was rooted, and I could view files I couldn't view before, but I couldn't uninstall apps with another root application, so I don't think it was fully rooted. I'm also beginning to think that I may need to flash all of the files, because they might not be the same.

Can't do that either. I tried before flashing the before-modified boot image, but I don't think the phone was properly rooted
Here is the message that I get. Clicking `ok` just takes me to settings

An update: the wifi DOES NOT turn on, and SDCards are not being mounted either. Ima try flashing the boot.img to boot instead of boot_verified.img to boot
