Compatible with L720 and L720T Galaxy S4 models only
This is a reincarnation of the ROM I did for the Sprint S3. This is my first ROM for the S4 but I have developed on the EVO, EVO Shift, E4GT (S2), and the S3. This is an inverted stock deodexed ROM (4.4.2 NG2 base) with a bunch of mods to boot. I was gonna wait until this was perfect to release this (what I normally do), but with the announcement of Lollipop coming I figured I might as well release it now. At least it will get some use before everybody switches to LP. Why inverted? The Super AMOLED screen does not use any power to render black... extra battery life, it's easier to theme, better for your eyes, professional, and it just plain looks better.

-Can't set Lockscreen Wallpaper from Launcher, works through Settings/Display/Wallpaper/Lockscreen though
-Some duplicate settings in Phone app (won't hurt anything)
-Settings/More Networks/Auto On/Off force closes
-IP Calling not supported (hardware)
-Be on the NG2 bootloader (if you are not, go HERE)(L720T users need to be on NG5 or OA3 firmware)
-Have TWRP Recovery installed (this is the only recovery I will support)- find it HERE
-Make a nandroid backup of your current ROM
-Download ROM on a stable internet connection (3G/4G download not recommended, file size is over a GB)
-Check md5sum of the ROM to ensure it was a good download and place on SD, if the md5sum does not match the one on the download page, delete and download again until it matches. THIS IS IMPORTANT. If you do not have a tool to check the md5sum, use THIS
-If coming from a Lollipop ROM format Internal SD (yes this is necessary, you will bootloop if you don't)- backup what you want to keep first on your PC.
-Boot into recovery and go into the Wipe menu. Select Advanced Wipe and format System, Data, Cache, and Dalvik Cache.
-Install ROM from SD
-Wait until it's finished flashing (about 5 mins)
-Reboot

Update PRL and Profile. If that doesn't work, Dial ##72786# in the dialer, this will reactivate your device. If that doesn't work, you have a bad download.

i was able to get data up and running but on the notification panel it continues to say preparing network. i am redownloading so i can reflash incase i need to.

You can try long pressing the notification and tap App info, then tap Force stop and see if the app (Samsung DM Services) will restart and complete the preparation.
Are you on the 720 or the 720T (Triband model), I'm on the 720T and it did not work for me, but bilgerryan said it worked on one of his 720's.

Long click on the notification, press App Info, then Force Stop. I'm looking into fixing it, it's the SamsungDM app so I know where the problem is. I think it's also worth noting that my wife experiences this on stock NG2 as well.

Off to work. I'll answer any other questions tonight when I get home. I'm closing the place down so it will be late. Enjoy!

Hi. Just running through things in case you forgot something; it happens:
Did you verify that you had a good download before flashing the ROM? Check MD5?
Did you clean install (wipe everything)?
Then did you:

Nobody knows me here, so just one post real quick...
I've got nothing to do with this ROM except I made The Box for Wicked X, an app that gets you to downloads and, what I'm sure you'll have some of soon, themes for this ROM. :good:
Updated 18 April 2015
The Box™ 4.0.5
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.erikalin.box1

A request – please don’t leave bad ratings on the play store listing for my app. The Box is free and there are no ads. Just a little gift for you all. Be kind.
Version 4.0.5 is up there. Google can take many hours to let you know and make updates available to you. It's in Google's hands though, so grab it when it shows update available.
changelog
18 April 2015
- minor update: XDA development thread is now live for the S4.
previous revision 5 April 2015
- major revision, completely redesigned the UI
- coded in some transparency into the app, put little icons in the navigation drawer... just made it look respectable. :good:
Edit: I'm waiting to make my 1000th post be something good, if I can think of something good, so I'm replying back as edit:

No. Appreciate the sentiment and it did not happen to me. But I have seen it happen to others, and it makes me mad, on behalf of others. I mean, a free gift with no ads. Lots of work with no return. You don't like it then uninstall it. Lol. So, I'm a little cautious I guess and just put the request for kindness out there. No biggie though.

yes i did all the above going to try one more time to download it, thanks for your quick reply

For anybody experiencing problems with MMS, I have a fix that should work... I'm just too wiped out right now. I just worked 9 hours straight with no breaks (isn't that illegal?)... I'm going to bed, I'll try to post a flashable before I go to work tomorrow. If you can't wait, replace system/app/SecTelephonyProvider.apk and system/priv-app/SecMms.apk with the ones from a deodexed NG2 ROM.

Well the question is, was this "auto rotate battery drain bug" you speek of there BEFORE HAKA got his hands on the ROM and and started messing with it or did it start after?
I am unaware of the issue and i will ask the ROM DEV if he knows anything about this...

its in every ics rom, even in the stock rom. the strange thing is that some people don't have that bug, but most of the users do, including me.
well, even with the bug, my phone lasts 1-2 days without problems so its okay for me, i guess.

Exactly!
Really annoying, cause it is the only issue that prevents me from running ICS.
When using ICS I can watch the battery drain.
Im out of house most of my time and I have to work with the phone.
For me it is not a everyday use OS.
Android OS is using more percentage than display...

Dirty Unicorns (DU) is a custom ROM originally based off AOKP, but now based from OmniROM. DU brings you a great mix of stability and customization. The idea to start a ROM like this was purely out of boredom, but later turned into a form of an addiction, a good one. We began to have fun while still doing things the right way. By doing so, we received high praise from not only our users but by fellow developers of other ROMs that enjoy seeing things done the right way. This ROM will always be free of charge without any strings attached or any of it's developers luring you into donating or any form of "pay to flash".
"Give credit and thanks where is due!" That's something that has fuel the way we do things! With that said, we would like to go ahead and credit those individuals and groups that have made this ROM possible with their original code and contributions to the Android community.....

The ROM flashes perfectly fine, that's not the issue. The issue is with the stock omni-kernel (DU uses forked it). I think I've fixed it, but haven't had the time to check. Currently, the ROM file includes GearKernel instead, so it'll work fine.

Oh.... my.... word.... Yo. Whew. So, I just flashed this. I was hesitant at first cause I didn't know if the USB connect to Internal storage was fixed or not, but I put this in the batch of ROMs I was about to try to flash.... I put this one first off my last experiences, but was cautious in case I had to flash Fluid (never used Gear before, so I don't know how good it is). I couldn't help but go in to settings a bit prematurely to see all the dirty tweaks, but I did and it was like the Heavens opened from up above. So far, I'm thinking it has everything I'd want, even down to the scrolliing animations. The tears of joy are real lol. I just reflashed (I somehow denied Superuser and didn't want to run into issues if it didn't come back up); currently waiting for it to settle so I can flash the Gapps and maybe Photosphere as I haven't tried it. But this is looking like The One. Already. :good::good: Will definitely report back after a couple days to confirm my thoughts, but this feels excellent. Great work!
Edit: So I've installed all my apps and tweaked my settings and such and the rom still feels amazing. Just one glitch I've encountered... The phone screen sometimes gets.. distorted. It first happened when I changed the theme with Google Keyboard in settings and then it just happened again when I tried to open a text. Maybe a Superuser issue? I'll post some screens tomorrow as I'm too tired to transfer them to my computer to upload, currently But yeah, the whole screen gets distorted and there's no way to remedy it unless I reboot the phone.
Also, upon the reboot I just did, the media scanner is frozen. Like, that persistent notification won't go away. Not even if I reboot it, the notification won't go away. I've tried rebooting; canceling the media scanner on boot; all that. It doesn't work. It's not as major as the first glitch I mentioned, but I have OCD... so... this notification is reeeaaaalllllyyyyyy getting under my skin lol.
Aside from those two, my goodness.. Haven't encountered anything but good ****. Hope I can say that on here. Keep he work and I'll definitely stick with this bad boy right here!
Edit 2: So I've fixed the Media Scanner thing by deactivating it, reactivating it, then rebooting. But the distortion bug I mentioned earlier just happened again. It always seems to happen when I'm in settings (I was going to uninstall Swype when it showed up this time).. But this time, it froze my phone completely. Couldn't back out, couldn't "Home button" out of it, couldn't even use my power button. Had to pull the battery. So yeah, it's probably a framework issue or something. As it stands, this is the only thing that's really an *issue*, so once that's resolved, you might just have the most reliable 4.4. Sorry for this wall of text, though!

Haven't actually had this issue before, so I'm not quite sure what you're describing. Could you pull a logcat for me? Or maybe send a picture so I can see what's wrong. Also, the original build that I worked on (the one in the post) works with the stock DU kernel now. I just tested it yesterday, so it'll be even faster!

Here are the screenshots I took last night and one from just now. Idk what's causing it, but the only way I get it to go away is to turn the phone off. BTW, how do I do a logcat? I've never really had to do one, so hopefully, for now, the screenshots give you some kind of idea.
Edit: Yeah, so my camera won't work now. I constantly get "Can't connect to Camera" and I've tried everything. And my signal is worth ****... AKA, my phone will show I have signal, but I won't actually be able to send texts/calls -_______________- Between this and the constant fraggling of my screen, I can't depend on this ROM as a driver just yet =( So I'm gonna have to go to another ROM, which I'm sure will piss me off, also, in the meantime. If there is anything I could do to help with getting it fixed, though, I'd be happy to oblige!

There are two ways to take logcats, through terminal emulator and adb. Both methods can be found on google. I'm building the latest version right now. See how it fares, k?

Okay, I'll be sure to look up the process. And definitely! I'll try it as soon as it's put up.
New version uploaded. The kernel was actually fixed in the previous update, but I didn't upload that version because I hadn't tested it. Enjoy the kernel. SUPAH HOT!
You don't have to worry about EFS getting wiped from flash now, but just in case, back it up.
PS: Even though the file name says that it was built on the 19th, it's only because my Virtual Machine has been paused for a really long time. it was built yesterday.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that you used google translate for this. I have not had any issues with music/phone ringing or call management. I would need more information before I do anything. What rom did you come from? Did you try reflashing the rom, etc.
Now it is worked so fast and Stable on my T959
Im come form CyanFox 2.0.2,Full Wipe and Installation This rom.
I try installing fuild kernrl and full wipe, reboot to recovery and installation this rom, reboot sysrem,it look worked fine and the kernel(work is so fast):victory: and no bug.

Now This work fine and fast and Stable on my vibrant!
Thank you for your good work!:good:

It's a good thing that the network and baseband work for you now! To change the font, there are few Google Play Apps in the market. Try using them, if they don't work, it's mostly likely not the ROM's fault, but the app's fault.
I cant get GSM Networks !this rom not support 2G Networks?
---------- Post added at 07:02 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:56 AM ----------
and you can add Vibration Intensity Contronl on this rom?
- du_galaxysmtd_20140129-2341.zip
DU's code updated
DSP/Apollo fc's fixed
aries: using busybox from sbin (twrp built)
aries: fix error during init recovery
Put the secondary keyboard in
---------- Post added at 07:17 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:02 AM ----------
In 1 days, feel the other issues, in addition to the above, there are sometimes get stuck. Then will automatically restart mobile phone! Occasionally appear suddenly without network and baseband unknown, need to reboot to recovery mode to clear the cache and Dalvik cache, restart to signal!
Open the status bar color option will suddenly no signal! Need to reboot to recovery mode to clear the cache and Dalvik cache, restart to signal!
I wait for the next version, try again!!

Isn't it supposed to be a setup in the beginning? I didn't get a setup. Also the first thing I experienced with this rom was LAG! LAg in the launcher RIGHT AWAY. Also lagging when typing in numbers on dialer. Also recorder is low fps, and the battery is garbage.

I did wipe everything before flashing rom including dalvik cache and system.
Getting this error when I tried to sign in with my Google Account. I tried Banks Core, Banks Standard & Standard Kitkat Gapps. What should I do?

It's preety smooth here man, maybe you should search for mega whipe script for s3, sometimes when you come from touch wizz or lower android versions the system files are in the wrong place so a full whipe dosent work. search for megawhipe in s3 forum, it completly deletes the rom you have and lets you start fresh!

[NCE}{SafeStrap]DeOdexed/Extreme Debloat/Stock/Android L Features

Naked TouchWiz v3.2 Tether/Non-Tether Builds Available!!!
Any Questions Should Be Posted In The Q&A Thread. I Will Be Keeping An Eye On Both This Thread And The Q&A Thread :good:
DO NOT USE ROM SLOTS! THEY DO NOT WORK YET! ONLY USE THE STOCK ROM SLOT!
Extreme Debloat v1.9-v2.3b are all alpha builds; they might work, they might not. Let me know of any issues, but don't expect extensive support for these builds.
You ever wanted a ROM that you put what you want into it? Ever wanted a ROM without all the crap you never use? This is the ROM for you!
PLEASE READ: So we have many successful flashes! As you can see the ROM is under 400mb... It is very possible that we may have missed some useless files or bloatware; this is how you can help:
1: If you know the file name in the app/priv-app folder of the bloat then post it here or PM @elliwigy or @raynan!
2: Uninstalling something from Titanium Backup will tell you the com.android.whatever, and the last pop up right before you uninstall the bloat will be the exact file name that we need to remove it from the ROM! Thanks for the help, and enjoy!
Features:
- Based Off My AT&T NCE ZIP
- DeOdex Version Available (Odex Might Come Later Once Verified DeOdexed Works Well)
- Rooted
- BusyBox
- Zipaligned
- Native Hotspot
- Knox Free (v1.1+)
- Init.D (v1.1+)
- Debloated (More removed since v1.1+)
- Lollipop checkboxes, radio buttons and fonts
- Download Booster (Have to create a toggle for it to work which can be found in the thread for it. I will make instructions and have someone test out adding a toggle to Quick Tiles if the maker of it will give me permission to do so.)
Add-Ons:
- Google Now Launcher (Default Launcher)
- Android L Keyboard (Default and Only Keyboard. Go To Advanced Settings and Change Theme to Material)
- Android L System UI Sounds (Not All System UI Sounds are Available Yet, I Added What I Found!)
- Android L Alarm Sounds
- Android L Ringtones
- Android L Notification Sounds
- No Stock SMS (Removed stock SMS apk, move SMS apk from download link before flashing if you want stock on first boot)

Stuff Removed:
Naturally, in order to get the ROM down to size we had to remove a LOT of stuff from the ROM itself. All basic functions should work. Some of the things that were removed are here:
- Drive Mode
- Baby Stuff
- Kid Stuff
- AT&T Junk
- Samsung Junk
- Stock Messaging app
- Stock Browsers
- Stock Launcher
- Stock Ringtones, Notification Sounds & Alarms
- Stock Clock
- Ultra Power Saving Mode (not that you really need it anymore )
- SHealth
- S-Voice
- My Files
-Useless S-Pen Files
-Not working ART stuff
.... You Get The Picture! I do not want to hear about if I'm going to add this or that. If you want SHealth then this is not the ROM for you (unless you can find a zip or a way to side load it.) There are stock options with all the bloat you want!
Coming Soon:
-Themed SystemUI--Just a few more apps to go! :good:
-Themed System Apps
-Possibly Port Apps from my Nexus 5 Running Android "L"
-ART Compatibility
-Odexed Version
Working:
- Just About Everything!
- Location Bug Squashed (It will now stick without having to reboot device. If for some reason it wont stick, try a reboot and it should work.)
-No more settings FC
-Most FCs you find will be from features removed, head to apps folder and follow the Google Doc to install missing features.
Not Working:
- To Set Wallpaper, You Can Long Press Home Screen or Set From Gallery (I removed native wallpaper picker so it wont work through settings)
-Wallpaper Picker is in the download link!
Install Instructions:
1: Download ROM from link below.
2: Download SuperSU.zip from HERE.
3: Place ROM and SuperSU.zip on External SD Card (Or you should be able to use internal)
3.5: (Optional) Move/Copy stock apps from the download link to /system/app.
4: Boot in Recovery, make a backup if you want to be on the safe side.
5: In SafeStrap Recovery, use Stock Slot and Wipe (Standard wipe should work)
6: Flash the ROM.zip and then flash the SuperSU.zip immediately after.
7: Reboot System and ENJOY
I am not responsible for your phone if something goes wrong during flashing of the ROM. I can assure you both ODEX and DeOdex versions were tested on MY OWN retail Verizon S5 @raynan 's AT&T retail S5 and everything worked the way it should!
Shout Outs:
- @Geohot for www.towelroot.com
- @Hashcode0f for this little thing called SafeStrap Recovery!
- @Misterxtc for answering all my questions
- @Edgarf28 For inspiring me to make this ROM (His XtreStoLite ROM is still smaller than mine haha) and also for his Aroma Add-on Package I used to see what I could remove without breaking the ROM
- Archikitchen (for the kitchen to make it happen)
- The AT&T users in here that asked me to make the ROM for AT&T
- The person who made the download booster MOD
- Viper4Android for the awesome audio MOD!
- @MrHyde03 for providing us with the toggle to be able to enable Download Booster! You're the man!
- @Versatile1 for letting me use his modded stock Email packages. Link to his page here.
- @kevin_1351 for letting me add his keyboard to the package! Link to his thread here.
[email protected] for the radio buttons and checkboxes!
- Everyone else I am forgetting!

It does NOT work.. I removed it as bloat lmao.. But you shouldn't need it.. On my VZW S5 with this bad boy I pulled over 5.5 hours screen on time and just about 24hrs and still had 25-30% battery remaining before I plugged it in. This was with 4g/wifi, few calls, heavy web browsing, heave xda app, heavy gaming etc. for over 5.5 hours and still had battery remaining. The phone will use less resources with over 1gb of crap removed as well as you will have more storage space and more than 1gb of system ram (unless you install a bunch of apps back onto the phone.)
I pm'd you rather than commenting lol excited for another new ROM but I can test for you if you'd like.
i have about 5 or so people testing now so soon as they get back to me ill know whats up n post it if all is well!

I am not sure.. Out of the box No.. Lol.. But that is because i removed the gear manager files. However, I had a request in the VZW forum. I am not sure if this will flash the recovery (wont hurt to try it) but here is a (i hope to work) flashable zip to replace the gearmanager files: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358557793
If it won't flash, you can extra it and the files go in System/App - then I would assume set permissions and you should be good to go.

As long as you back them up and restore them, you should be good to go. You can also look around for the apk and push it.

♦♦ Question and Answers by @clothednblack♦♦
Q. What is a clean flash?
A. Clean flash is as follows....
Boot to ss
Hit wipe
Slide to factory reset
Back out
Hit install
Find zip
Slide to install
This deletes everything except data. You will have to set the phone up again. All your pics and sounds and downloads are safe and will be there when you return.
Super clean install is as follows....
Boot to ss
Hit wipe
Swipe to factory reset
Back out
Hit install
Find zip
Slide to flash
Reboot.
This will wipe everything on the phone, all pics, sounds, settings, everything will be gone, except the contents of the sdcard.
Q. What is a dirty flash?
A. Dirty flash is as follows...
Boot to ss
Hit install
Find zip file
Slide to flash
Reboot.
This deletes absolutely nothing, no wipe needed.
Q.What happens when I wipe data?
A.While in Safestrap if you select the "Wipe" button, you will then be taken to a screen with three options. Here is an attempt to somewhat clarify those options.
1. Swipe to Factory Reset - This is the most common way of wiping, and what is most commonly used for installing a new ROM. This option is considered a "Clean Flash".
2. Advanced Wipe - This option is used to specify partitions to wipe. It is generally okay to select all options here EXCEPT "Micro SDcard". This can also be used when doing a "Clean Flash".
3. Format Data - DO NOT USE the "Format Data" button. If you select it by accident you are going to be required to type the word "yes" to even proceed further. You have been hereby WARNED. If you refuse to heed this warning there is a good chance you will soft brick your phone.
Q. Can I flash to a slot?
A. Yes, you sure can. Expect bugs or issues, expect the reboot option in the power menu to NOT work.
Q. How to I go back to stock?
A. Dirty flash the rom. (see above)
Q. Somethings are acting strange, is there a easy fix?
A. Boot to SS (safestrap) hit wipe, now hit advanced and check the cache and dalvik cache box's ONLY! slide to wipe, reboot system.
Q. My signal is weak, is it the rom?
A. I highly doubt that, it's related to the modem and some are better than others depending where you are. Check out other Modems here.
Q. Where can I find the add-on'?
A. In the DK store. Hit menu/system settings/device then DK rom control.
Q. My battery life isn't very good, how can I find what's going on?
A. Download "wakelock detector" and "better battery stats". Then if you are still confused, take a screenshot and post it.
Q. Where do I start??
A.On first boot, status bar will be black on home screen to make transparent it must be fixed If you want transparent. (Statusbar Gradient)
Open each respective setting and apply the color.Transparent is selected by default.
Also on first boot, there is no visible clock. You must set your style and alignment. Warning, center clock does not play well with ticker notifications ( They overlap when present, WIP)
Note about 3minit quick launch, After you tick to have or untick to remove, you need to reboot for it to remove properly.
If you are changing a lot of things like systemUi or lockscreen, Your device will hot boot to apply the change. I strongly suggest to do a full reboot after you are done playing. (Hot reboot "can" causing battery performance issues)
Q. How do I make my status bar transparent?
A. Go to the Rom Control and then tap status bar mods. Go down and tap "Status Bar Gradients." Now there should be 2 color options, just tap a color, then tap the box on the bottom right because that is the transparent. Do the same for the second color.
Q. Why is the jome button is not turning on the screen?
A. There is a toggle for it in Rom control, under hardware keys.
Q. Is off topic discussion allowed here?
A. Absolutely not, take it somewhere else..... Of course it's allowed here. We all love to chat, showoff, brag, and keep others in the loop. It's a big family in here!
Q. Reboot toggle isn't working?
A. It's a WIP, fix is in the works.
Q. AOSP lockscreen isn't working?
A. It's a WIP, fix is in the works.
Q. How do I check apn settings?
A. Settings>Networks>More Networks>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names
From here, you can reset to default by hitting menu/reset to default

Thank you sir! Hopefully it will be well received here.
Let me introduce myself, some of you know me, a lot of you don't!
I am the developer of Dynamic Kat. Originally for the AT&T Note 3 found here.
This is your ROM, I will custom tailor it to fit your needs. I am always open to request. You want to contribute to the rom, thats great! I will include it in Rom Control and everyone can use it.
I try to run a nice relaxing home here. DK is more than just a rom. It is a group of people hanging out doing the things they enjoy TOGETHER. We all work together to make it a nice easy going friendly place to be.
Hope you all enjoy my work!

Very glad to have been part of the beta testing for this AWESOME rom, bri315317 did an amazing job with this release and I expect only greatness to come. The rom is super smooth, data works, MMS works, root works (remember to flash the super-su update in OP!)... It's just overall sweet.

Can you point me in the direction of what is exactly missing? I would think it's possible to bring those features in as a flash able addition.
Hope you enjoy it [emoji16]

Allows you to select a custom app to launch on home button or swipe up. Can't be turned off in home settings.

Any idea what the ETA will be on the GPE version?
