[V4A] Viper4Android for HTC One

Post your recomendation, settings, question or something else.
Original Viper thread is there: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223 but it contains 500+ pages.
Viper really much improve sound quality and interpretation in stock player and speakers, but if you using PowerAMP, you must play with a settings, but for listening from speakers, stock player is better for it.
Not working

I tried installing both the xHiFi & FX version, but the driver installation failed. Which CPU mode did you use? How much improved sound you get, given the already excellend pair of speakers on HTC One?
Thanks

V4A already working for ARHD 40.1 Android 4.4 kitkat??? pls confirm
Does not work for me
I've got a Verizon one, but I've tried everything and it doesn't seem to change anything in the sound. I also turned off beats, but still nothing. Maybe it doesn't work with the stock music player.
Can't get it working on SkyDragon Sense 7
Hey,
Viper don't want to work on my m7. I tried all:
Got latest SU binaries, got busybox, set SEL Linux to permissive, disabled NuPlayer, tried other versions, different setting and different kernel. But I just can't get it working.
I really appriciate your help, I can't live without Viper

[APP][PORT][4.4-5.1] Tuning Master w/ MAXX AUDIO + 11 Preset EQs

* This equalizer will NOT run without headphone plugged in.
* Tested on:
CM12S
OxygenOs
smartisanOs 4.4
CM12.1 Nightly
HydrogenOS
Not working on:
Exodus 5.1
To install, copy the 'com.lewa.tuningmaster-1' to /system/app, change folders to RWX-RX-RX and apk to RW-R-R, then reboot the phone. Or flash the flashable zip below.
After reboot, an application called 'Tuning Master' will show up.
As what you can see here, the installation process doesn't replace/modify any of your system files, which means it can be uninstalled by simply removing the folders and might live along with your others audio mod just fine.
Flashable Zip
Original Link:http://www.oneplusbbs.com/thread-778028-1-1.html
Thanks for sharing !
It works too on HydrogenOS (see screenshots on the original thread )
Seems to work on 5.1 nightlies aswell, you only have to flash the Maxx audio AudioFX app standalone first for it to work!
Seems cool but, could you make it a flasheable, please.
+1 for flashable wanna test it
anyone tried this on kitkat? I have, but dont notice any changes...might be doing something wrong. will love to try the flashable zip.

Thanks for clarifying that. I am running cm12 as well and standalone app sound great. Nothing to mess up :good:

Installed. Really cool interface and easy installation. Did not feel a difference in sound though. Does it only work on certain apps or anytime headphones are plugged in? Tried disabling the apps equalizer and setting up the type of headphones used, but still no noticeable difference.

For me it works in Play Music and Spotify, you can know what it's working just by chging the preset in the statusbar notification without going into the app, really handy.
But it doesn't work for games

Yea I already had maxxaudio disabled figuring it would be on twice. I can report back with feedback about google "play music" and "spotify". I really like the "live" preset. Seems to add more life into the music. Music folder player already has a great equalizer so it's not a big deal it's not supported. Great organized player with awesome equalizer if anyone is searching for a new music player.
Bro can u port this for marshmallow as it is working perfectly in cm12.1 ROM but after marshmallow update it gets force stop. So please port for marshmallow users

Global Equalizer

I am looking for a global equalizer for my N6 running stock 6.0.1.
I want an app that would process any audio destined for output (speakers, headphones).
It seems like right now music EQ is handled on a case by case basis within the music apps themselves.
The problem is that not many of the streaming apps include this functionality.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Thanks, yeah V4A looks great but I am struggling to get it working.
I am running systemless root on my N6 on 6.0.1 AOSP - anyone else get V4A to work on a platform like this?

Dolby audio jag motog6+

Im having trouble with the Dolby app, when I active dolby the sond decreases about 15-20% and with headphones you can change the EQ 3notches.
It also changes the default EQ in Google music for example to the Dolby version were you cant increase the bass in the EQ. Is the some workaround for this? Or does anyone else experience the same thing?

Switch off volume leveller if on. In my case with the option on it lowered Bluetooth audio streaming considerably...
I personally installed ViPER4Android and totally switched off Dolby, since I find V4A much more enhanced and can be fine tuned to one's liking. Problem is that while streaming through Bluetooth, it's really inconsistent and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But if you're mainly using a wired headset, I suggest you give it a go...
Yes I understand, but I just got it dosen't jag want to root it yet! Viper is one of the best things along with xposed to Android(vanilla of course) but I hope someone can remove the restrictions for headphones in the Dolby app, if I coymuld I would. Best reegards Pierre Gothenburg Sweden det

Dolby itself is not the problem but did you attempt to turn off volume leveling or not?
xposed is nice but there are much better options out there. To my knowledge xposed still reverts art back to dalvik and decreases performance quite considerably imo.
You can either try volume boosting apps on the play store or you have to root. If rooted you can either use Viper, or modify system file (mixer something xml - I forgot the name of the file) to boost the volume.
Just because the device is new doesn't really factor in to if you should root or not, imo, unless the root solution is not stable which is not the case here. You can always unroot later and if for some reason you reach a point where you can't uninstal root, you can attempt to send the device back to Moto and hope you get a replacement.

If by "it complains" you mean the warning you get when you raise the volume too much, it's there on purpose to avoid damage to your ears. If I'm not mistaken, the only way to disable that is through root and xposed...

NO I mean that its a restriction in hos much you can change The EQ, it says Sue to security you cant raise the EQ more Ryan 3db,and I know that dB is sund, but The volume is way luder and you can smide The bass slider to max without headphones. I use a-jays 5.

All restrictions are to avoid damage to your ears, that's why you can change things to higher values on speakers but not on headphones... You would have to root to have full control over this.

You can do several things with and without root:
No root: disable headset limitations guide - https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.**********.com/disable-safe-volume-warning-no-root-required/amp/
With root: Install V4A app and set it up to your liking, or don't and just use Dolby but disable limitations with an xposed module. You can find several guides on XDA or through Google.
As for V4A working with Art or Dalvik, I'm no expert and don't understand what difference this may make regarding audio quality, but I can tell you V4A works perfectly fine with a headset on my G6+, as well as on several of my other older devices, too. Only issue is Bluetooth streaming which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, depending on which audio device you're connecting to, but I can live with that...
Edit: the stars in the link I posted should read '**********'...
Edit 2: XDA app keeps removing the word... It should say d r o i d v i e w s without the spaces...

Thanks for your time and knowledge, I couldn't find a good way to bypass this exept disabling it! I fond another EQ and cant say that I hear ny difference. Maybe in The movie mod, but I'll finetune it so you cant hear any difference. At least not in my A-jays 5 or my Bluetooth headset, but I prefer The A-jays 5 beacase of the sound and it dosen't drain my battery (Bluetooth))!
