Can you help me with SASHIMI?

Hi all, can anyone help me with the software name SASHIMI?

I didn't want to ask in there, because most of my questions are pretty basic and sound dump to others
Anyway, as I understand from the video tutorial (which is still confusing for me), All I have to do is add all the CAB file I want the software to install in the "CAB" folder and all the registries in the REG folder. Then I have to create a filebackup.ini to tell the soft what I've backup.
- My question for this is how do I know which registry to backup and where they are. Let's say I have an APP1.cab to install and that APP1.cab need to be register... where do I find APP1 registration information?
Once the registries are found, all I have to do is to add the CAB in the CAB folder and its registries in the REG folder, right? Then when come to restore, I have to restore each CAB and each Reg or it will do by itself due to my filebackup.ini?

The questions you are asking have actually been asked at least 3 or 4 times already and are in that thread.
In addition, your questions about where to put the .REG file are covered in the documentation.
Because I'm in a good mood, I will quickly answer here.
1) I can't tell you where the registry entries are stored for your program...that is different for each program. Use a registry export and compare before and after.
2) Once you have the .reg file with your entries you can either put it in the \REG folder or you can name it the same as the .CAB and put it with the .CAB file. This is called Tandem/Bundling and is covered more in the documenation.

Hi All,
I hope nobody shoots me for asking and tells me to do a search. I'm a bit in a hurry right now, so i'm just typing quickly.
How can I create or obtain the REG files for the different applications I install?
Resco Explorer, iSilo, pocket player, pocket artist, SPB Plus, SPB backup, SPB wallet, etc. I want to place the REG files in sashimi so that they automatically get registered and so that I don't have to manually apply the serial numbers. Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance, if no one wants to sit here and give step by step instructions i will understand, but atleast a link to the correct thread would be helpfull.

I have no idea how to use sashimi to install and register my applications. Well I do know, I just don't know how to get working REG files. Do I have to create them? or do I get them from some directory. I've seen most of the videos already.
If there is another forum with info, please direct me to the right thread, I tried doing a search and besides this thread I didn't find anything.

I would still appreciate some help with the REG files. How can I get them or create them so that sashimi can apply the serial numbers after installing my applications?

Here's my need:
Using the autorun.exe feature of storage cards, I could use an executable which deleted/renamed/moved all files in the startup folder, as soon as the phone boots and detects the card.
I basically need to get an executable that will move/delete/rename all files in \Windows\Startup. Once I have it, I'll put it on my card, using the SDK method of \2577\Autorun.exe
Anyone have the development tools necessary to make this small executable for me?

if u just wan to delete everything in the windpws folder use active sync. I could be wrong i dont fully uunderstand the question.

As I stated in my other thread, activesync isn't an option, the phone locks up due to this program.

How to unpack apk file

Hi, I am using the iskoot software, installed by an apk files. But I need to change a setting of this software, and in Windows Mobile I used to change the registry setting I need, but now, we do not have a registry....so what I am asking is, there is a way to unpack an apk files to see where and wich files it install? So that I can go there and edit the conf file I need?

apks are just zip files. Set them to open with your archive manager or change the extension to .zip. All applications install their settings into /data/data/%PACKAGENAME% where %PACKAGENAME% is the Java-style package name of the app.

Ugh, no need to use the evil "R" word here. You're going to give us nightmares!
Each application stores its configurations/settings in its home directory in /data/data as pointed out by the previous poster. You might want to bone up on 'sqlite3' as most configuration settings tend to be stored in such databases.

I'am trying right now to find this confing files, thanks, I'll let you know if it's ok.

Note that depending on what you are trying to do, the config files may or may not be able to adjust the property you're after. No matter what, the program itself must support what you are trying to do (this goes for ALL OS's -- you simply can't change something that is irrelevant and expect it to do what you want) and more often than not, the ability to adjust that property would be presented by the program itself.
That is, of course, not to say that manually adjusting the config files is useless, because there IS a lot you can do directly from the config files.

Download APK2EXE and NSIS install system
Follow these steps to create your executable!
* Extract APK2EXE to a new directory
* Add your APK to the directory
* Doubleclick APK2EXE.NSI and edit the 3 lines containing information about your application.

* Done!

it's like saying I want to make this MAC application run on windows.. it just doesn't work..
I dont care what programs say.. Its not coded for Windows so it wont understand what the program does...
BTW you application you speak of is meant to install APK's FROM windows not TO windows

shouldnt be too tough. just make a executable file that installs and configures adb, allows user to select apk or select a folder of apk's, create a .bat file that tells windows command prompt adb push the .apk to the sd card, then adb install /sdcard/nameofapk.apk
simple enough!

Not trying to cause trouble, I'm just looking to install an older version of an app as well as the updated version...

Thanks for replying, I've had a go with that and extracted / decompiled, compiled, signed, and that doesn't work, when I try to install the newly created apk it still tries to overwrite it...
I've watched the vid and read the comments but haven't worked it out yet... Can you point me in the right direction about which bit to edit?

I myself prefer Resco File Explorer...i haven't done a "windows" file replacement in a while, but I believe that method works

Tried all possible way's but SDK is not building up "NrsRuntime.winmd" to binaries "NrsRuntime.dll", WHY ???
@GoodDayToDie at least can you provide me at external resources which you have used for your "Native Access" Project?

Most of it is on Codeplex. The only other things I used are the official Win32 headers (but with modified #defines to let me use the "desktop" API family) and the LIB files for the linker. I cut the lib files out of the system DLLs (extracted the DLLs with my web server and/or with MTP access to C:\) using Dll2Lib, which is a neat little tool you can find links to online.

Uninstall it because newer versions can`t handle those folders and install v 4.3.6.0. Probably, version 4.3.2.0 can do this too, it`s better ask @djamol about that. Also, check your PM.

I can't copy in glance folder without renamong apps to appsz. It gives me cant copy folder.... And if I rename the apps for copy glance background give "is loading" message

When you`re trying to copy (with Aerize?) to marketplace Glance folder ({7C3378FF...), is that folder empty? You should previously erase its content with Pocket File Manager.

I am having the same issue. After renaming "appssz" to "apps" i then cannot copy the files to the "{7C3378....}" folder. I too get multiple notifications that state "cannot copy folder". Have you found out a way to fix this? Does anyone know whats wrong?
Update: After renaming back to "apps" use Folders Free from the app store to do the copying and pasting. It works now. It must just be a problem with aerize explorer.

I've tried to patch the DevUIProgram xap to Preview For Developers app, but the app crashes on startup...
I've tried manually with a file manager and with my tool...
I've developed an a registry editor too (I will post that soon) and an empty app but I'm getting the same result (crash at startup)
Glance Background based registry editor and a custom lockscreen gives no problem...
Any advice?
