WiFi calling issues - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone. I have no idea what's going on. I've been having a ton of trouble getting WiFi calling to even initiate. The icon won't even show up. I get different errors: Reg99, Reg84, Reg81...
I was on Firekat and switched back to stock. Factory resetted. No go. Wiped my router firmware and started from scratch. Still the same. Opened a ticket with Tmobile already. Switched sim card. Same problem.. Any idea why? I need WiFi calling - like most people do. Thanks in advance for any suggestion.

Sounds like you need a new Sim card.

Reg99 is your Sim card has not received a crucial update.

Go to the store have them give you a new Sim.

Thanks guys. Will stop by a store later to switch sim cards - the one I switched to before was an older sim. Hope this works.

It really should. I've had to switch sims before.

If switching sims doesn't work show them the support thread.
If they can't fix it after that ask for a new phone.

Still didn't work. Kinda frustrated now. I have a ticket open so will see what their techs say. Will definitely ask for a replacement otherwise.

So here's something strange. I was able to connect while on my Verizon jetpack. Tried several times. Went back to my router and it still failed. So what on my network could be blocking it? A dns issue? My isp?

how do i stop my htc one from asking me all the time if i want to connect to any available wifi networks, especially if they're all locked. when im at home it doesnt ask me because its saved my wifi here. but when i go to work and i get on the internet itll always ask if i want to join any of the connections..and then itll ask me again a few hours later. how do i stop this from happening so much?

ah, that second solution seems like it will work. thanks! one more question. in the settings i see some options, but these two specifically:
network notification: notify me when an open network is available
wifi network notification: tell me when networks are available.
i have the first one checked, not the second one..but what are the diferences between the two? they read like they do the same thing?
First one notifys you if there is a unsecured WiFi available like at McDonald's or any place that offers free WiFi the second one notifys you of any WiFi connection

But I don't have that second choice

in wifi settings tap on the 3 dots then select advanced
untick network notification and it will stop nagging you
Man I wish I had thought of that

HTC ONE no Reception

Hi Guys
i have accidentally drained my batts to 0 Percent the other day and now i am experiencing major issues.
- The phone started to go through a boot loop ( reboot every 2mins).
- no reception at all
- com.htcdialer.com keeps crashing..
after trying like different types of versions of roms i managed to somehow make it stop the boot loop.
so at the moment it's just the reception and com.htcdialer.com .
the current Rom is Revo 52 - Android 4.4.2
i am 100% sure the sim is in correctly and also the sim is working in my spare phone. i think it's a hardware fault but i am not 100% sure since it just suddenly happened after the phone ran out of batts.
i saw someone who has the similar symptoms but it has not been resolved. any ideas?

samsung note 3 hacked please help

I am having a really big problem. For two years and about 7 devices later I can't seem to fix my problem of my phone either recording my calls and tracking my location. I have tried almost everything. Even took my phone to a data dr. Which they said my phone was cloned and my phone company said my number was being spoofed. I've changed phones, numbers, and even phone company's, but still no luck. Can somebody help me please. Here are my logs
I have seen this in every device forum I have supported... Only once was it legit. The rest were just paranoid.
If you have been through 7 devices and multiple different companies, chances are that you are just paranoid. But... There is a small chance that an app that you have on your phone is Rouge...
Is it possible that you have a psycho boyfriend/husband that is installing tracking software on your phone?

Wifi calling is a t-mobile exclusive as far as I know. You may have some luck with one of these http://www.rebtel.com/en/International-Calling-Guide/Mobile-Apps/Top-5-apps-for-WiFi-Calling-in-2013/
Naw sprint said g flex is one of the phones that can do it

Sprint lied! Wi-Fi calling app is exclusive to T-Mobile and is integrated in the framework on the T-Mobile phone. Therefore can't just be installed on another phone.
Now there are other options like Google voice or another 3rd party app. You can download then off the playstore. They'll allow you to make phone calls over Wi-Fi, but give you a new number as well.

Hey i learned something new today. Sprint did start offering Wi-Fi calling in Feb it was exclusive to T-Mobile for a long time; however he still lied to you because the only phones that are showing capable are the mega, s4 mini, note 3, s4

If you want to confirm though open you phone app and then settings. If you have it there should be a Wi-Fi calling option

Sorry they added the one max

Wow since February and that's all the phones that will work? Not even the S5, that's tough
That's actually pretty impressive (surprised about the s5), but if it's like T-Mobile version it is very integrated into the framework

yeah surprised me too. Good for them to finally get rid of that ridiculous airave.

[Q] Mobile data not working properly & about rooting and custom roms

Mobile data randomly stops working. Not lack of signal or anything like that. Usually turning airplane mode on and off helps. I asked on a finnish forum and other users had similar problems with their Z1 too. I'm pretty sure it's not the operator, since my old phone worked just fine. Anyone have a clue what I should do?
Someone on the finnish forums said that he installed (flashed?) Slimkat ROM and it fixed this issue. I'm tempted to try that since this is driving me crazy, feels like it always occurs when I most need internet connection. So my question about rooting and custom ROMs would be: is it possible to get the phone to its "original" state after rooting and flashing rom (if it doesnt fix the issue and I dont like it), so that the warranty is not void?
what is your device problem?
when turn on Mobile data
and it wont show 3G/LTE icon ?and u cant get your browser work finely?

The icon actually never disappears. I don't have 4G(LTE) so the best possible icon is H+. Only the little arrows next to the icon act differently when the data isn't working. No browser or anything that needs internet connection.

Yes, its stock right now. I was just wondering if I should try custom rom since it fixed this issue for another owner of Z1

I really appreciate that you're trying to help, but I'm not sure if you fully understand my issue. Internet works sometimes. Then it randomly stops working. It's not about settings since most of the time it works flawlessly, and then randomly stops working.

What is "sony check"? Yeah, hardware issues should probably be sorted via warranty... I hate dealing with that kind of stuff. It usually takes ages too. And on top of that, the issue is so random that it just might not occur when I send the phone to repair. They would send it back and charge me for nothing.
Anyway, I'd like to know about the last question I asked in OP.

Heya, I just wanted to know if you found a solution to this problem at all? I've suffered through it for almost two years now, never being able to have someone understand this exact problem any information at all would be helpfull.
Thank you
