CM12.1 for E1 - Sony Xperia E1

Hello guys.
I just got my E1 2 days back.
And I will be working on bringing up working cm12.1 builds for the E1.
Although it would be great if there are more people to get it done, so! Lets roll the dice and get some cm and other custom love for e1!
It would be great if everyone is on board with us. We will needs lots of development and equally big lot of testing the same before it can be used daily.

His profile says it all.

Oh, I see. I'm new here so I don't know much about people that are experienced.
I did some things on Android-x86 only, that's why I don't know nothing here but still know android.

If you want someone to test your builds, I can help. I have very fast Internet and I am always availaible. I've already ended my education therefore I have much time to do!

Woah. I'm all ears, I can test your builds, do logcats, but don't know about Android programming

Very nice to hear that! I can also test and logcat anytime.

There's not much different between E1 and E3, just larger RAM, and better camera, and of course a better chipset

I'm just worried about one thing: is the gap between the display and the glass notice-able in daily usage?
(also we're kinda going O.T. Lol.)

I've been using E1 for almost a year, the most noticable issues with this phone is the bad display screen
Everything else is Software issue

Im waiting for cm12 port
[email protected]

BTW...... got my E1....... display is much better then i was thinking, sound quality is amazing and the Snapdragon 200 dual core isn't too much slow compared to the Snapdragon 400 quad core. The only issue is the low ram..... at least i managed to lock home in memory so it doesn't refresh everytime.
My Hangouts ID/Google Plus profile is Umberto RSX

Will do anything to help, satvik

Sadly, things arent working out the way they should.
As since Alin also said, E1 is dead.
We tried our level best, but since the blobs wont cooperate, Cm for e1 is not happening.
Thank you all for your time.

I wish lol if i can change my processor to arm 7 i could be enjoying hulu right now .
haha epic Thread name....but yeah i am pretty sure there will be a G1 version. Me in my opinion, i don't think it will get any better, i am back using Super D (Donut 1.6). fast performance, and battery saver.
You guys should work on modifying the processor number from arm 6 to arm 7. That way, ppl don't have to spend money buying $600 dollars phones.

no comment for you bookcase, i was talking about Donut based roms not Froyo. Froyo its too slow for G1 Hardware, so i got tired of using something that supposed to work right and consumes more battery.
That not the dumbest answer i bought so far 3 android phones. They all cost around 1,200 all together. Droid 1 $230, Google g1 $400+ $25 tax=425,Motorola cliq $400+25=425 not including tax that cover the $100 tax.
You can't "change the processor number from 6 to 7," because that would do absolutely nothing. It's like taking a .zip file and naming it .jpg. No matter how much you want it to be a jpg image, it's still going to be a zip file. Each new processor has a different hardware structure, and the naming scheme (ex: arm v6, arm v7) simply denotes what hardware it is.
I can't believe I even took the time to respond to that post, haha!

Let's port 4.4 to this phone!

what a great idea !!!! but its already too late. many devs are ALREADY working on it
Yes! Lets do it!
I am sure that without source code of tegra drivers and 3 year old device blobs it's gonna be a bugfree and perfectly functional os!
This obviously isn't a critique to the devs putting time and work in the project, but rather a comment on all the 4.4 hype..
If you think 4.4 is going to 'fix' problems or make you a new phone you are up for big disappointment

If you have a look at the dev-github you will find out that in reality our blobs and code are a few days old.
Also you speak for a big disappointment for 4.4
I can vouch for the contrary
You never before saw this phone perform so fluid.

Fluidity is not a major concern for this point, at least from my point of view.
I average 14.5k on antutu and since i added frandom to your kernel along with entropy generator it does anything I ask without a glitch.
What I do care about are the big bugs which will almost certainly not be resolved, such as mhl output and baseband wakelock.
My comment is for people who think that 4.4 will be a bugless experience
Guys, 4.4 is more-less functional. It does have some (big) bugs, but we're working on it.
Biggest bugs remaining: no deepsleep, broken camera
and yes, @Demetris is right, 4.4 is as smooth as it only could be. When I booted it for the first time, I was like
But now the Mod in me has to speak some words
This thread does not make any sense/is useful, which is why it's closed now

Wheres the Development??

Hi, I really love this tablet lineup alot. I have the tf300t and it has alot of Developer Support. I love this brand specifically because it allows me to type up school related documents when I need to and has an awesome battery life. I wanted to get the TF701, but it seems completely empty on the developer support. Why is this? Is it a crappy tablet? Does no one care about this tablet anymore?
If this isn't a suggested tablet, what is a suggested one that has a keyboard with it?

Hey man, I seriously am so appreciative for all you work man. I used CROMI-X all the time on my tf300t. Your Rom and the AOSP roms motivated me to stay with the tf300t. You have done an awesome job and I appreciate all your time with your ROMS.
I guess I have gotten spoiled with having the opportunity of tasting all the different Roms Available for devices like the the Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy S4 and the TF300t.
I was just curious if the lack of developers on this tablet made me think there was a serious issue with the tablet.
Now doing some research, even the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet doesn't have much developer support either even after being so popular.

And that's exactly it: The TF701 and the Z2 may just be so good on stock that there is very little demand for development. Any market is ruled by demand and supply - even free one's [emoji189]

I agree, that TF701 performs pretty darn well with the stock rom. While the TF700 begged for custom roms (to solve issues like the need to turn off FSYNC), it took me a lot longer to unlock the device and install the customized sbdags version. His version is awesome, but I agree that the need is not as apparent as it was on previous devices, presumably because the hardware is better.
That being said, it also seems like the user base for the TF701 is not quite there either....
Maybe cause the 701T just came out recently?

I wonder if it might be also because the tegra 3 has been around since the tf300? along with the nexus 7. So they had something to work from. I dont know if that has anything to do with it though.
Stock when rooted is just so good, for me at least. I would hate to lose the productivity apps built into the stock Rom if I change it.

Sbdags is a God, there is no question about it. His efforts and those of the other developers are the reasons Android is so great.
I wonder if the custom rooms have this feature present in the stock Rom where I could just bring up floating apps by just clicking the button on the left.
P.S. Don't know why the attached screenshot is blurry. It is clear when viewed through the gallery.

Last CM nightly is dated April 11. There are some guys working on CustomRoms like Nostromo and Carbon, but they have a lot of work because there is no CM branch for memul anymore.
I'd be very glad if there was a CM13 but I don't see any developer for that. That's why I think the photo is a fake.

As someone who have used both phones, i do not think it is wise. One Mini 2 is great phone, much better sound and build quality than G2, about the same camera quality and speed in daily use is similar. Having sd card is a good thing too, but on 32gb G2 storage is not an issue.
G2 however wipes the floor with Mini 2 in display and battery. G2 has very good 1080p display and solid 5hour screen on time. One Mini 2 is only 1/4th resolution and smaller size too, with 3-4 hour SOT max.
However, when used little and kept on standby, One Mini 2 (with Power Saver on) is about the most long lasting phone i have EVER used. Mine is frequently surpassing 6 days on 1 charge. No joke. G2 cannot go beyond 2,5-3 days at best.
Unless your G2 is broken, keep it.
CM13 ANDROID 6.0 HTC OnE MiNi 2
In the end, what is the status of the CM 13 development for the ONE 2 MINI ?
It will be a release of this version for this device after all?
The code of android 6.0 is 90% from the code of android 5.1
Only little thinks was changed.
It can't be a big think to port it to the one mini 2.
Flashing a cm13 rom for another phone with the same processor ends in a bootloop, but at least it displays the bootanimation!
There are only a little thing and that makes the bootloop.
The next think is to add drivers for the htc hardware (camera, speakers and so on).
The cm12.1 project also looks as it is dead.
No developer has this phone anymore.
The offical cm dev of this devices leaves us with the third cm12 nightly from 2015...
Its a great phone, but you'll better get another phone for goos rom support.

I don't know about you guys but i check every spec before buying so i knew i was getting a phone without a gyroscope. I made that decision. Yes Motorola could have included it but they did not and although i curse them on ocassions like this, i remember that i made the decision to buy based on other good features the phone was offering. Also Motorola DID NOT force anyone to buy. You made the decision and by blaming Motorola now, you are just blaming yourself. Sorry if i hurt you

I don't miss gyroscope. Hell I didn't even know it doesn't have it.

Anybody know any tricks to reduce battery drain when using this app. I tried downloading offline maps for the areas I'm in but I made no difference honestly.

Use the battery saver in Pokemon GO settings.
That just dims the screen. It doesn't work properly with the X play becuase of the lack of a gyro
you need the moto z force plus the battery mods for pokemon go. even if you hit a tree or got hit by a car, at least you'll be relieved that your phone's screen didn't crack.
I don't know why but Pokemon Go works pretty laggy for me. On Huawei P8 Lite works much better than on this phone. :|
