Original thread contents below:
Hello all,
I present to you my Material Design/Dark theme for the S6. Material Design is meant to mimic the stock Google ROMs where available, and the official GApps elsewhere. Material Dark is my spin on a dark version of AOSP. NOTE: The Dark theme is bound to have a few colors broken as there are no strings to theme some of the items. Blame Samsung, not me
Updates will be pretty slow on this theme now that I have been accepted as a Samsung Theme Designer. These themes will be avaialbe in the Theme Store soon!
What is required for this theme to work:
-Root
-The ability to install the Urban theme, whether through the Samsung Theme Store or sideloading the APKs
-FlashFire (or a root file manager to manually copy files and change permissions) or TWRP

Instructions:
Make sure you are using FlashFire to install this, not Flashify. The FlashFire thread can be found here. You can also flash with TWRP, or install manually as well if you'd like.
To use the theme, all you need to do is have the Urban theme installed before you flash this. You can find Urban in the Theme Store by finding any themes by SIDI (they also have the Pink Theme, Desert, and Anime), then clicking the More button next to "Themes by SIDI" at the bottom of the description. Alternatively, you can manually install the APKs found in this thread using the instructions found there.
1. Make sure you have the Urban theme installed and applied first!!!
2. Flash either Material Design or Material Dark using FlashFire or TWRP.
If there is a certain app you don't want themed, edit /data/overlays/jsonfiles/userjson/br.org.sidi.Urban.json and remove the line for that application (for example, if you don't want the keyboard themed, remove line 22 that says "br.org.sidi.Urban.inputmethod",). Then delete the corresponding folder from /data/app/.
The Material Design Icons ZIP file just contains the individual icons if anyone wants them. It is not a flashable ZIP.
Upgrades can simply be flashed over existing versions of my theme. If something doesn't go right afterwards, refer to the Troubleshooting section below.
Troubleshooting:
If you run into issues with this theme not applying properly, please uninstall it from the Theme app and choose the default theme. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ANOTHER THEME APPLIED BEFORE DELETING ANY FILES. Then, using a file browser with root access, remove any of the following left on your phone:
all of the folders in /data/app/ begining with br.org.sidi.Urban
/data/overlays/font/br.org.sidi.Urban0
/data/overlays/preview/br.org.sidi.Urban
/data/overlays/lockwallpaper/br_org_sidi_Urban_wallpaper.png
/data/overlays/jsonfiles/userjson/br.org.sidi.Urban.json
Reboot after deleting these files. Then re-download Urban using the Theme Store and apply the theme. Make sure the regular Urban theme is working on your phone, then flash the ZIP.
-------------------------------------------------------
Big thanks to @ilardi for helping me test this theme, and @Gunthermic for providing the APKs for a variety of themes, including Urban!
Please let me know if you guys find any problems with this theme. Please PM me a full-resolution screenshot if you want me to be able to fix it easily
Black Mod:
Install the Material Dark theme from the Theme Store, then flash this file:

I'm planning to next, it's just difficult to hack and splice the current themes that are available. I'd prefer to wait until the full tool is available as it looks so much easier and cleaner with it.
Who wants to test the theme for me?

Yeah they promised it by the end of April... It is now mid-May.. I'm kinda disappointed in that. Idk if the theme tool will ever be "publicly available" like they promised. I think you hafta go on their theme tool website and apply to be a "partner" with them (Samsung).

I'd definitely like to test the theme out. How can i do that?

I would like to help test this theme if you need it!

@cambunch are you hacking the theme by 7-zip injecting images into the apk, or have you found a way to decompile and recompile without breaking the theme?
I've spent quite a few hours trying to make my own theme to share for the GS6 and was never able to recompile the apk with different xml overrides.

I am able to recompile the APKs without breaking them (sorta). The signature gets changed so they aren't user-installable, but placing them in the proper folders and setting the right permissions allows them to work.
I will add a post on how to recompile them when I get some time.

It would be awesome if you could replace the background image of the BMW i8 Theme with a white or light grey background

You have to apply to the Samsung website to get the tools, they will not be released publicly it seems. But that's how you can gain access for now.

My S6 is rooted and I'd love to test it out for you.
Coming from a phone where I would flash a new rom every day I need something to do to satisfy my need to change something every few days lol.

agreed...this is the only usable theme so far (other than Urban) because it has some nice dark colors. thankfully the image is not in your face noticeable.

Here is a quick file I threw together to make the BMW theme have a white background. I make no promises that everything is themed properly as I don't use this one
All you need to do is have the BMW theme applied and then flash this in FlashFire: http://d-h.st/eT6J

Yep, in combination with Nova Launcher (so I don't have to see the ugly icons), I really like the BMW i8 Theme the most.

By the way, you don't need FlashFire, I just manually copied the folders and fixed the permissions and it worked[emoji106]

[THEME][UPDATED 02/14/2011] Minimal Green and Minimal Blue. NEW-Winter Mix

This is a Metamorph and Flashable Zip Theme for the HTC Eris.
[Change log in second post]
I am not a fan of gloss and started looking for a matte theme. I found Dark Elegance and installed that. Then I started learning MM and started changing out some of the images. Then I got carried away and changed the whole thing. Even learned 9 patch along the way. Ughh.

Flashing the Update zips.
I used Zip themer to create the zips. So please do a NAND before trying this method. I can not guarantee it will work. Just reboot into recovery and flash the zip file.
MM the theme
Place the Minimal_Green.zip or Minimal_Blue.zip in AndroidThemes and extract using MM. Then do the normal business.
MM can be buggy. So apply one at a time and do the framework last. If MM gives you an error after extracting the zip saying that the theme is not valid, just restart MM and your theme will be there. If MM hangs (the spinner stops spinning) give it a bit and it should re-boot by itself. It has done this to me multiple times. But the theme always sticks.
When applying MM and a sub theme doesn't stick, the main reason for this is that you have a duplicate apk in data/app. Delete the one in system/app and move the new one over from data/app to system/app. Then reboot. See THIS thread for further details.
Installing the fonts.
Place the font zip in the root of your SDCard and flash that from recovery. I've included the font I am using and the stock font in case you want to go back.
I have tested this on KaosFroyo v37 though v39. Nothing else. So do a NAND if you are going to try it on another ROM or phone.
For people asking about how to re-size and overlap widgets, go HERE.
As usual, I am not responsible if you brick your phone. And do a NAND first!

Framework Icons are ported from the DroidX Minimal Framework [link]

Version 3.5
Latest theme mod/creation from the official Black MIUI Theme. I just ported some of the previous stuff I had as well as new stuff created for it (mostly just overall UI Experience) in theme into the latest Black MIUI theme since it SO SEXY!!!!
Most of the framework buttons are blue, this is done via draw9patch tool in the SDK to draw the expandable areas of the buttons and compiled via Eclipse.
Change log
Blue Buttons everywhere (Framework&SystemUI)
Blue Icons in pull down menu
Blue progress bar & Icons (notify)
Black scrollbar to fit the entire black theme
Black Toast Notification
Icon Name with black drop shadow
Transparent Zoom Icons in Browser (YES!)
New Battery framework Icon (Credit to Akeo101 & Behemoth)
Icons by Raadius and Lunie (Kudos!)
White GPS icon fixed
White download animation fixed
Scrolling Text (Music/Contacts/etc) is now blue
Bugs not rectify (yet)
SMS Pop-up shows black font as main text and dark grey as sender info. Can't freaking find the XML for this. Spent 10hrs without any results. I suggest to turn it off if you don't want it to annoy you.
Dropdown Box is dark without "press", Still usable when you press on it.
Some more Oranges around other apps (this is almost impossible to rectify but I'll try to theme more apps whenever I find spare time)
Some pop-ups still showing black icons
Download it here!!
Version 3.6
After MANY MANY HOURS. I am sad to say that it is impossible to theme the Message Pop-up. This is due to the color style reference used by that activity is hard coded to @color/black. Unless MIUI.COM changes this xml property to maybe dlg_bright_foreground_dark (Dialog Primary Text Color) then it works. At this point of time, do not use the sms pop-up until this is resolve.
I am however, releasing version 3.6 with some fixes that makes the theme a bit more usable.
Changes
Launcher :
Selection of option for default settings is now fixed (thanks to sense!)
Framework :
Scroll overlay text now it's blue
Dropdown list is now usable as I have changed it to dark grey. The reason for this change is that it shares the same color style as the text in the input box. So both are of the same color now. Usable still
Other minor changes I made here and there over the past few days that I can't remember
Also added more framework stuff to be blue.
Blue Items added to keyboard, text input & vending
Bugs/Request
Fix icons in pop-ups
Some more Oranges around other apps (this is almost impossible to rectify but I'll try to theme more apps whenever I find spare time)
Some pop-ups still showing black icons
Some status bar activity (3rd party apps and browser/bluetooth transfer) may display text as black
To download go here
VERSION 3.7
Changelog
Keyboard :
Themed dark keyboard for both build-in as well as those who are using the free GB Keyboard from the Market (With dictionary) to fit better in the theme. Also change the candidate colors to look better. I love it, I'm sure you will as well!
Browser:
Themed black browser (Taken from the Android 3.0 theme in version 2.2) This is a direct port, credit to the creator of the Android 3.0 theme from MIUI.COM
Misc:
Added more blue items in miui music and file explorer app.
To Download go here
VERSON 3.9
Fixed various items.
Updated theme with official final black theme
Smiley tab fixed too!
Download it http://db.tt/GM9uxgZ
---
VERSION 3.9.2
Fixed mass sms text buble to dark theme
Themed phone.apk to blue
Themed camera.apk to blue
Download it here
VERSION 4 FINAL
This marks the last update for this theme. This theme have reached it's age, as MIUI have also changed their layout and fixed alot of stuff in terms of usability.
Updates includes some stuff to align with the changes to the dark variant (toggles, lockscreen, etc).
Icons is the Signa. All credits goes to Kowalski & Signa Team.
Unlock screen credits to wez89. All I did was inverted the png of the lock icon.
Thank you for everyone who have helped me in this theme in anyway, I'm sorry I have left out a thank you earlier or have offended you in anyway.
In this case THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

EDIT: I've just installed it and I must say waow! Only thing is that on the lockscreen, although there are no icons, if I press left or right to the clock it does go the the dialer or sms view and I like it this way, it's more minimalist. Very neat.

yes you can, you have decompile the apks and copy out the png for the icons, then place it under the icons folder in the mtz file. The name of the icon should be exactly the same (case sensitive) as the process name of the app. e.g com.android.calendar.png

FAQs
What is the hex code for BOSS?
It's 6e8a9f
Is the theme incorrectly compiled?
No worries! Set the System (stock ICS) theme, reboot, and then follow the installation guide!
Is the theme missing assets for your screen?
Click 'Apply Anyway'
Something weird happen to your phone? Theme isn't showing up properly?
Try one of the following: Reboot phone, Restore nandroid backup, Flash the rom again. Make sure you're on an AOSP based rom (AOKP, CyanogenMod, Gummy, Rootbox etc) or it won't work. If it still doesn't work, try re-downloading the file and follow the steps carefully.
No circle battery mod? (as shown in the screenshots)
You're probably running a version of CyanogenMod. If you'd like, you can either change to a rom such as AOKP which has this features, or request your rom's developer to add them. sorry
Can you theme ______ or add/remove feature ______ from your theme?
I'm open to all suggestions! Please post/pm me any/all your suggestions and hopefully they'll be added soon.

Waiting for xhdpi support as well. Its a really good theme.
Very nice theme if you ask me! This tint of blue really looks good on the device. Do you know if the pattern-to-unlock color is also theme-able?
Cool!! Saw that you have a themed settings icon, can you please theme browser, message, contacts and phone icon a bit darker as well?

I'm using this theme on a SGSI with 182dpi and it works flawlessly. But don't know if that also counts as mdpi, because the SGS officially isn't a mdpi device.
awesome theme!
Is it possible to theme the email app?
also, the highlight colour when you make a selection is orange, which I think takes away from the nice blues of this theme, a light grey or lighter blue may work better

So, you've downloaded and been blown away by the most advanced ROM on the Incredible S - ViperVIVO by Team Venom!
Well, the fun doesn't end there! Thanks to Team Venom's powerful theme engine, you can change multiple elements of the theme on the fly - a never-before seen feature on any ROM.
Of course as with anything new, there is much confusion how this works. The aim of this thread is to clarify how to change various aspects of the theme, and unleash the full power of the Viper!
There are 2 aspects to themeing on ViperVIVO:
1. The built in theme engine (covering statusbar icons and Sense icons)
2. The custom skin
To some degree, the effects of these are independent. So you can change aspects of the built in theme without changing the skin, or change the skin but keep theme elements. Or even keep everything, and just change the Sense icons. The possibilities are endless.
The secret to ViperVIVO's stunning good looks is a combination of the two, and we'll take a closer look at this over the next three posts:
Post 1: This One
Post 2: Built in Theme Engine; How to fine - tune the appearance
Post 3: RedVenom Custom Skin
Post 4: Venom Kitchen Tutorial; Make your own Rosie icon packs and Statusbar icon packs
Please post any questions / issues relating to themes and icon packs etc. here rather than on the main ROM thread, let's keep that clean for ROM issues.
Thank You!
So you've read about the revolutionary theme engine in the ROM thread. But what exactly can you do with it? Basically, it allows you to alter some of the graphical elements on the fly, without needing to flash or even reboot.
Using Venom Tweaks, you can change the appearance of:
Statusbar icons
EQS icons
Battery icons
Sense icons
Notification shade background
App drawer background
These elements are all independent and can be changed to suit your tastes. So, you can use icons from different icon sets to mix and match your own personal theme.
But that's not all. Take a closer look at the screens where you choose statusbar themes and iconsets. You'll notice that each supported statusbar icon can be changed independently. So you like wifi icon from theme A, but battery from theme B? No problem, download both and mix it up as much as you want. You're only limited by what's available in the Hub.
And if there's some icons you want that aren't in the Hub? That's what the Venom kitchen is for. Scroll on down to post 4 for further info.
So, you've seen that option in Aroma to install the Venom theme. Either you ticked it, and are basking in the warm RedVenom glow.
Or you didn't ... but now you're wondering how different things would look if you had taken the other pill. Well, your answer lies in this post. The screenshots above (coming soon) will give you an idea what the theme looks like, in case you didn't install.
Basically, the choice of theme controls all aspects of appearance, apart from those listed in the previous post.
For example:
Red highlights on notification shade
Red lines on dialog boxes
Red elements on checklists/tickboxes etc
Red outlines on Dialer button presses
Red keyboard
For the time being, these graphical elements aren't controlled by Venom's theme engine. Some of them can be changed by switching skins, but you'll find that this doesn't completely remove all the red. This is due to a limitation in the tools we have to edit HTC frameworks.
As if the ROM wasn't customisable enough, the ROM devs have also developed the Venom theme kitchen.
Really want some statusbar icons that aren't in the Hub. Or got a great idea for a set of Sense icons? Why not make it yourself and share it with others via the Venom Hub?!
We've put some themes in the Hub to get you started, but the aim is to fill it with user generated content. We've tried to make the tutorial as easy as possible, but if you have any questions, here's the place to ask.
Post your completed themes here, with a screenshot. If the theme looks nice we will add it with credits to the venom hub, so all users can download it from there!
One thing we ask though - ideally you'd be using icons you've created yourself. If you are going to use someone's else icons, please ask them for their permission first. We all spend a lot of our free time making these, and it's really annoying to see your work ripped off by someone else! I'm sure you'd all agree. If you used icons from the UOT kitchen, then say so.
actually this is the last one

Umm I don't think so.
Sent from ViperVivo
*I have moved the theme from the rom thread to here* This theme is basically just the Stock HTC Icons influenced with green. It looks awesome, here are the previews:
Instructions: Instructions:
1. Download and install the apk (http://www.mediafire.com/?muo9zmjm3riiich)
2. Go into Venom Tweaks > Sense > Icon Pack and choose Venom Green Icon Theme.
Enjoy.
Once again, just letting you know that I'm taking requests for themes (Icon Packs and Status Bar Themes) for this rom. If you want a personalized theme, let me know.
*I haved moved the theme from the rom thread to the theme therad* It is a alien green icon set and it looks very good. Basically, it is the red venom theme but instead of red its fully green. Here are some screenshots.
Instructions:
1. Download and install the apk (http://www.mediafire.com/?qok2wca2uub1mu6)
2. Go into Venom Tweaks > Sense > Icon Pack and choose Venom Green Icon Theme.
Enjoy.
Also guys I am taking in requests for any type of theme for this rom. Just let me know your colours that you want in it and I'll try my best.
Hey guys, Fallen here for another theme for this excellent rom. You won't notice the difference between the default Red Venom theme and this one, but if you look closely, there is no grey circle that surrounds it. In my opinion this looks way better. It did take me a long time to do this. Previews:
Instructions:
1. Download this and install it as any other .Apk (http://www.mediafire.com/?ebxmddee6bxk1jl)
2. Go into Venom Tweaks > Sense > Icon Pack > Venom Icon Clear > No Circle
what's that theme with blue icon ?
do you have a plan to make theme like you did for project X? I think red is nice.. sorry if to many request....but i love what you did on project X
Viper Bootanimation & Splash Screen
Hi all,
Just sharing my Viper Bootanimation from the main ROM thread, now in the right location. I've also done a Splash Screen for you too.
Bootanimation
Looks a bit like this:
Instructions:
Download the attached bootanimation.zip, save it to your SD Card somewhere you can find it again (leave it as it is, don't unzip or anything).
Using your favourite root explorer (with root write rights on), Copy/Paste it to the following folder (and then adjust permissions to rw-r--r-- for good housekeeping):
system/customize/resource
Don't forget to back up the old bootanimation first (change the filename a bit) if you don't want to lose it.
Alternatively, this was mentioned in the DHD thread:
nj.nikunjjain said:
An easier way to apply that boot animation is:
Go to Venom tweaks-advanced-custom boot animation-and then select the bootanimation.zip. Reboot and enjoy
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using xda app-developers app
Click to collapse
(I'm not using the ROM, so I assume this is correct for Incredible S too.)
Splash Screen
Looks like this:
Instructions:
I believe this is for S-OFF only.
And you must unzip this one first, get the 'splash1.img' file from the attached .zip and place it in your adb/fastboot tools folder on your PC.
Then go to CMD prompt on your PC and set your CD to the tools folder.
Set your phone in USB bootloader mode, then type in "fastboot flash splash1 splash1.img".
Job done - reboot to see it appear before the bootanimation.
I hope you like them.
If you want to revert to stock white HTC Splash Screen, unzip and flash the 'ORIGINAL HTC SPLASH' .zip as attached. it looks like this:

The amount of people trying the CM11 transmogrifier, so far is a big disappointment though, lol
not sure what the RRO layer theming is.

Thanks for the link, it is interesting that this has been built into the new Android build.
A serious limitation of this is that for each application that you want to theme,
you have to create a separate APK and compile it.
This process would be very time consuming on the phone.
Cyanogenmod has enhanced this by consolidating everything into a single apk,
they also opened up areas that the RRO can't theme.
So, I am leaning towards focusing on the CM12 update.
I am also planning on changing my program to allow Theme modules,
so following some simple folder placements, any icons could be provided
so you could make a very customized experience.
One change with that that would be a little more difficult for people
is the XML updates, but I plan to provide different modules as examples.
Version 1.0.2
I have released version 1.0.2 to the playstore,
It takes a couple of hours to show up,
But it should show an update available for those who have downloaded it.
The Benefit of the change:
ReWorked the Coloring calculation to allow for better gradiants from white to the color selected.
Graphics created now will have more contrast and subtly pop.
@JohnMcW welcome to the OnePlusOne bud good to see you here
Will u port this theme to CM12? It looks awesome but this version won't install on CM12

Yes, this will be updated for CM12 --- waiting for a stable release for my phone.
Shouldn't be too much longer.
Thanks for the Interest.
Version 1.5.5 added to Play Store
May take an hour or 2 to show up on the playstore....
This Version has the Advanced Menu which allows you to:
*Change colors that xml changes.
*Color any Validly formatted Themes Icons.
*replace or add valid Icons
*replace add or delete additional apps to theme.
*********************************
Modifiable Directory will be created on authorization on your SdCard where completed themes currently reside.
a Sample theme that shows what needs to exist from other themes will be put in the jTransmogrifier/jAssets/jIce
directory. You can edit the icons in the Assets folder.
You can replace the assets folder with the assets folder from other Themes,
either all or the bits and pieces that you choose to change or add/ subtract.
Where do you get the Assets from other themes?
Copy the other Themes APK to your computer, Unzip it and you will see the Assets folder.
You can create your own folder in the same folder location as jIce as long as it is in the sample folders format.
IE: you can have multiple themes that will be available in the dropdown selection.
jTransmogrifier/jAssets/jIce
jTransmogrifier/jAssets/MyTheme
jTransmogrifier/jAssets/AnotherFolderINamed
etc..
If you put invalid files or duplicate .9 and regular png files together you will create an invalid theme file,
This is the result of what You did.
if you want to reset the advanced options to use the original theme:
Original is an option in the Folder theme selection, this will reset the original XML values to stock and use
the original themes icons when creating a theme.
If you want to reset the xml new color values that you might have changed, you need to go to the color chooser
screen and re-hit the ok button or choose another color and they will be redone.
Additional information will be added later.
