Direct access uses - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6

Hey everyone, just wondering about this feature called direct access. Aside from the choices it give you, can we use this to open different apps now that we have root? Or is there a file we can edit that can give us the ability to open other apps with the triple press of the home button? Also I am sorry if there is a thread regarding this as I couldn't find anything about it.Thanks

Little help please...

I did use the search function, so let me get that out of the way.
I'm trying to find the apk for Citizen Sports app, Live Scores. I loved Sportacular on the iPhone, and was overjoyed when I found out they had an Android app as well. My problem is this, Android Market, QR codes, cnet downloads, I can't seem to find the file to put this little gem on my MyTouch. I had it once before, but since I've rooted it, I can't find it anywhere!
If someone can direct me to where I can download it (it's a free app), or possibly post an attachment, so long as it doesn't break any of XDA's rules, please help! I want my sports fix back!
Thanks ahead of time!
found live scores in the market place, its what you have described and is published by citizen sports
I understand the app exists, I've even had it installed on the phone once before. My problem is, I've rooted it since then, and now, as a result, I am no longer able to locate it (app market, online sources, etc.). I'm just asking if anyone has a means to point me towards the .apk file, so I can install if from my sd card, or on the device's browser.

not sure why you cannot see the app, i can see it, i downloaded it and installed it also.
i guess i can extract it from my phone and save the apk for you, PM me and i'll zip and email it to you.
I have been searching all over for this application. I use a Moto Milestone on the AT&T network and since it is not a "standard" phone I can not see this in the market. If anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it.
-Thanks

[Q] To the Software Eng. and hackers

The process of placing programs on the NC is evident, yet there is still no two way communication or at least none that i have found. Please, if anyone can inform me on how to remove apk's and install the android market app so we don't have to look for programs and just download them, show me the way.
Trust me - everyone would like to see this happen, and there are several people actively trying to get the Market to work on the NC. The development forum has a thread about it if you want to follow along more closely.
As for uninstalling apps, you can use Astro, or if you have an alternate launcher installed (ADW/LauncherPro/Zeam), you can drag the shortcut to the trash can and hold until it gives you an uninstall option.
Hay thanks for the quick tips.

apk downloads

Hi all,
Do you folks have suggestions of good places to download apk's so I can still install apk's to my device even though it's not connected (would download on pc and transfer to device)?
Thanks,
Ho'okani
Be carfull with questions like this if they think you are asking for "warez" you can be banned, if you are looking for free to download apks check the devlopers sites as most of the time they are up for free. If you cant find anything and its not Private or Paid ill help you but I will dont get you anything that needs to be bought.
Definitely not looking for warez type sites or for apk's you have to pay for. basically looking for freeware type sites so i an download and manually install when i don't have access to the market. I haven't been able to work out how to wifi tether my Gpad with my Touch HD so when at the office so I can't get my Gpad online to gain access to the market since we only use wired lan.
Thanks,
Ho'okani
I'm looking for something similar. One spot where I can find apk's like flash, new york times or other official apps that for whatever reason do not show up in the market.
Getjar.com has a few.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I purchased a number of apps from Handango/Pocket Gear. They had an option to download to PC. Result was the APK for the programs. It was also beneficial for flashing a ROM and having to re-install.

Just a thought

So I've been thinking that any time i try to use the share button in a browser, gallery, ect..... why cant you ever select gtalk to share any thing to. I know i can cut and paste but why no option for gtalk. Just wondering if its just me or others are thinking the same. Give me some feedback people. Could some even implement an app to allow it?
Totally agree gTalk needs to be added. I use it more than SMS, email or any of the other available share methods.
I think you'd need to talk to the gTalk folks for that. My understanding is that the app lets your system know that you can share through it, and the system adds it to the list.

Can I Safely Disable IPSec Service?

I'm still seeing Android System using the lion's share of my battery life and I've started looking at the services running within it. The IPSec service is always near the top of the Android System pile and I was wondering if it's safe to disable it.
Some light Googling is turning up the service is related to VPN networking but there's not much more available (at least at an entry level of understanding). This link provides a decent understanding. I don't use remote access or corporate VPNs. My only real question is if I disable it using the App manager, are there routine functions that might be disabled? Should I be weary about Samsung Pay?
Thanks!
Finaly have you find a solution ? i'm reseaching on google and i can't find how disable ipsec on android , if you have know how do this , please let me know
Root your phone to enable super user abilities, and search for ipsec in rom manager, then disable it.
Realizing Im going back in time.. Or if you have a device like the Samsung S6 Active, an AT&T branded, close to perfect device which I have yet to find a way to Unlock the bootloader and root ..? Try AdHell-2. The link(s) are here at XDA. You must... 1.) Create a Samsung Account, 2.) Apply for a Developers Account SEAP, 3.) Request a License Key, 4.) Toggle On Unknown Sources in Settings/Lockscreen & Security/Unknown Sources, 5.) Install the AdHell-2 .apk, 6.) Then Activate the App by Copying your License Key. * This is a great App which not only serves as a highly-efficient Ad Block, but also allows for the Disabling of System and User Apps. Anyone reading this know of a way to root the S6 Active?
