spread the topic in all sammy knoxed devices mate ... especially flagships that are bought alot and has activity like
Galaxy S4,Note 4, note 3,s4 mini, s5 mini

I've signed...hate that knox crap.

Samsung won't change it. It is voiding their warranty and they can set the terms in it freely. Nobody like to repair phones because someone was messing with stuff in them.

Oh and let me see,if your volume + and - won't work anymore,it is due to installing a ROM? If your camera doesn't work,it is cause you installed a ROM? Come on man.

The level of complication in building such a device won't let you know if an issue has hardware or software origin.
I don't understand why people are against Knox, as Samsung introduced similar checking system long time before. The only reason why people aren't angry because of that is fact that there is a workaround for that.
Consider that people at Samsung aren't stupid and they know that messing with device is causing problems. Of course that some issues like faulty buttons may be independent from rom flashing but services don't want to check it. Tripped Knox give them a lot options to check and that cost money.
It is sad that everything come to money, but I think that everyone is clever enough not to support products that have been modified heavily.

Additionally, what you want to add to this is theres new tech in aosp built from knox.
also the wording of the petition is terrible and should have been editied and proof read. it comes off more as a petulant child not getting his way than a genuine want or query. and as for wording, listen what you need is for them to change the fact a knox flag affects warranty. not remove knox altogether

Directive 1999/44 / EC dictates that seller must repair product and it is his role to proof that root caused the issue (for example). In most cases Samsung is warrantor and not seller.
When people will understand that?

Need help to KILL a trinity

Hello all,
As titled. How can I kill a trynity?
I tried removing cable while flashing OS, but bootloader (3 stripe color) screen still come up.
I want it totally dead.
Bring up some ideas, I´m ready to try all to kill a P3600 unit.
Thanks
What exactly do you mean by "kill"?
Do you want to "brick" it or physically break it?

why would you want to kill it?
donate it to xda-developers for them so that they have a device to test.
Flashing your bootloader and pull out the cable during.... if u want it dead
I don't mean to get into your business, but why brick it? That's just a waste of money. Sell it on ebay or donate it as mentioned.

Im guessing for a warranty or insurance claim to get a newer model...
put it in a microwave?
just for 30 seconds...
flashing with a p3600i rom won't do (i tried that for you, you will stuck into bootloader. luckely i got him back to working mode.
but what do you want?
bootloader is like a PC without OS. that's the cleanest you can go i think.

I say again, UNIT WAS BOUGHT AND PAYED.
So being there on the shell getting dust, and try to get insurance? humm what will I choose?
Dude, money is lost since the day I payed it, so if not work, won´t loose anything... duh.
PS: I´m only doing it, cause I got ensured that my claim will be accepted if phone get´s bricked in certain conditions.
I informed myself first. And by the way, ain´t the first time... so if not work this time by some strange reason, others worked and other will still work.
@Moderator
Please clean the offtopic and the "non-helpers"
oh sure, I do not dispute that the unit is yours, and you can do with it what you wish... blow it up with C4 for all I care (actually... that would be kinda cool...)
The issue I have is the fraud you want to commit. Alot of people have had genuine issues with these phones and have struggled with claims, and now you want to make a fraudulent claim! Its attitudes like this which damage the reputation of owners with genuine issues.
@mods: Dont worry about cleaning the thread... just lock it? Nothing useful will really happen here apart from more flame bait being created.
Drug_Store,
Don`t get me wrong: I am just a person with principles and what you are trying to do is against them. But I agree with you... the device is yours and you can do what ever you want with it.
I am only against you for using this forum for that matter. If you haven`t realize...this forum is to fix them.
P.s. I also think it would be funny if he manage to brick it... and the claim gets rejected
hmmm... Let's just say that in Portugal there are Portuguese people and Tuga people. Guess which one "Drug_Store" fits into.
- Maybe he's also someone that declares minimum salary to pay less taxes;
- Maybe he's also someone that drives at 120 km/h in a 50 km/h road just because he thinks speed limits are for the others;
- Worst: Maybe he voted Santana.
Sincerely I would suggest two icons for Portugal people. The normal one and a Black Pirate Flag for people like "Drug Store".
So much talk about breaking the rules.
I unlock phones for a living, so I break them everyday.
But I´m SURE that you all broke some also. Who never unlocked a phone? Who never used a pirate version of windows?
Bah... so don´t come with moralism.
Yeah, I wouldn´t mind using a pirate flag as patriotic symbol, since our country is for currupt and criminals. So I just try to adapt to reality we live on.
Piece of advice, "wake up and smell the coffee"
PS:
I say again, if u gonna post just to waste forum space, please don´t, save the space and save us with those hipocrit moralism... since that in a way or the other, we all try to bend the rules.

SOLVED! Anyone in the Charlotte, NC area that can Root my Nexus One w Froyo?

Basically, I'm too stupid to do it and I WILL F it up so I'd like someone that knows what he/she is doing to do it for me and I'd be willing to pay something for it.
I'm close to charlotte so say, 50 miles distance from Monroe, NC..?
I want this font size proggy on there but it only works with rooted phones and of course, I thought that UNLOCKED also meant rooted
THanks
George
It's not very hard to do. I can walk you through it if you'd like on gtalk or someting
Oh, and also, this is the wrong forum to be posting this. Next time post in the Q&A or General forum.
If you can do it over the phone, you're in 'cause I panic when something doesn't go right I like to ask questions immediately.
Any chance I'll brick the damn thing?
George
Oh, if you can also talk me through how to hook up the HD2 in windows mobile to my pc so I can download the ringtones from there (unless someone has them and can e mail them to me), it's worth an easy 20 bucks to me (paypal?).
I assume i can use the ringtones from the hd2 on the nexus?
Thanks

Its noobs who think that if you unlock the bootloader you'll void your warranty... YOU WONT... HTC will still replace the phone if there is a reason to that is the phones fault and not one of your own. Don't let the noobs scare you into thinking other wise.

There are 2 ways of modifying your phone.
1) Root it. You get the benefits of being able to run apps that require root but don't have to unlock the bootloader.
2) Unlock it. Unlocking it lets you run different ROMs. Something other than the stock android. Example, Cyanogen Mod. It's a modified custom build of android with lots of nifty things. But it might void your warranty by Unlocking it.
I'd suggest just going with ROOTing it. It's easier, less fuss, less to worry about and it doesn't void the warranty.

Are you on skype?
I got it from Negri Electronics and it IS unlocked already but NOT rooted.
I need to root it to get this font size program installed 'cause my eyesight sucks. That's really the main reason.
Yeah, I like nifty things too and I hate being tied down by locked stuff and so on so I'd like to open it and do whatever I want with it.
As for the warranty, I understood from Negri that HTC/Google covered the warranty and I THINK, that I could buy insurance through t mobile but checking on that.
Also, for those of you who are interested, Negri also sells t mobile contracts/by month contracts or whatever you call it.

Ok, what now?

Were is Gingerbread ?

Now i no this may have been covered in other posts But !
I no there versions of 2.3.3 kicking around but i look after a company's 15 mobile phones and they only update via kies.
I no in the UK the roll out has been pulled, and service centres have been told not to put the firmware on, i also no that Android (Google) Told Samsung to stop the update this was weeks ago all my contacts have been told to say nothing
All the new stuff coming out eg Google talk the company i'm looking after they want but i'm not putting firmware on that is not meant for the phone.
The phone is very capable to run 2.3.4 as the phone is the same spec as the Nexus S, They have already asked if they should of got this phone.
I to have had doubts as to weather i should of got this phone, and gone for a Nexus S
Any one no what is going on with Samsung and android will XEU customers get any form of Gingerbread?????
If you "no" that the subject has been covered in lots of other threads, why the need to post this?
The info is on here time and time again. "no" one "no's" any more than you can see.
lol
And yes, I am sure obliquely threatening that Samsung will use 15 customers on a website that is not owned, operated or likely even closely watched by Samsung, will spur Samsung to drop their stalling and release Gingerbread before the version is ready.
I also think that that readers without English as their first language might have difficulty in reading the OP. lol.

Dear ???? ???,
Thank you for contacting AT&T regarding removing Carrie IQ settings. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. My name is ?? ?? and I will be happy to assist you with your inquiry.

I was curious about Samsung pay, but having root is more important to me. If someone finds a way to get Samsung pay working without Knox, that's great. If not, oh well. It is just as easy for me to pull out my credit card as it is to swipe my phone.
