New S6 playstore error "insuffient space" with 30gb free - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6

Hi guys, I have a brand new Galaxy S6 and started downloading my applications from the playstore. After a dozen applications (not games) I got the error "There is insufficient space on the device". I went to the storage and it says my apps take 1.34GB and 30GB available. Why is it doing this? I cleared the cache and online searches result in the obvious, clearing used space. This is a brand new phone, there is nothing on it yet. Did anyone bump into this problem?

Still can't find the solution but I uninstalled what apps I installed and installed "storage truth" which told me my /data partition was 1.9GB and full. That seems like a tiny fraction of the 32GB that is allotted for applications, and not to mention most of the space is taken up by Samsung apps. Any chance anyone can check their /data partition size using "storage truth"? It might be a glitch, might have to get it repaired

Had this before .have you tried clearing the data for playstore app in application manager
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using XDA Free mobile app

anything?
has anybody figured out hw to fix this problem? i cant download anything because there no more space but i still have 31 GB left

[Q] Critical Storage memory with nothing in it a t all!PLS help!

Hello Everyone!
I'm experiencing an issue with my touch Diamond.
Usually, I put nothing on my storage memory, I put all my data on the Internal storage.so, there should be nthing on the system storage, what means there should be at least 40MBs free outta the 85.but I still get the "Storage memory critically low" message, and all the memory in the storage disappears!
when I connect my device to the PC via ActiveSync, and look up the my device folder (not the 4gb internal), it says I've got no memory free, but when I go into there, select all my files and click "properties",it says theres only 40mbs of data on it, still the 85mb system storage is full!I've tried everything:registry cleaning, removing all the programs, cleaning Opera cache and e-mail attachments, too, still nothing helps but a ROM update!after that everythings OK (for a while), and then starts all over again after a few weeks, and I don't wanna spend every 3rd week with reinstalling the ROM and set all the settings back (yeah I have the backup but still annoying to update ROM every month....:S)
Please,anybody, HELP!!!!
Something that might point you in the right direction ... when you select all the files and check the size, hidden files won't be included. Make sure you have explorer set to show hidden files and system files, or use something like total commander to find them.
Once you find out what is really taking up all the space, hopefully it will lead you to the solution. Sorry I can't suggest something more specific.
I realise this wouldn't help the original poster, but I'm posting this in case it helps others in a similar situation.
Today, for the first time, I got the dreaded 'you are running out of memory' warning and, sure enough, I only had 2MB left on the Storage partition. I only ever install apps to the 4GB Internal Storage partition and all that so there's really no reason why this should've been happening. What tipped me off to the solution was the fact that the only app I'd been using at the time was Opera. So, I tried clearing the Opera cache and, despite the fact it's set to only use 4MB of space, clearing it out reclaimed about 25MB of space in the Storage partition.
So, it would seem there's a bit of a bug there in Opera and I'd advise anyone having storage space issues to try that no matter how little space Opera might claim that it's cache is taking up.

You're a star...!
I couldn't work out why I had lost so much device storage space either...
Just regained a whole 9MB
Not a hell of a lot, but sure explained half of my problem...!
I ran out of memory - now WM wont load
I had those critical memory messages. did a hard reset, and now my diamond won't restart. it hangs on the windows mobile 6.1 screen.
any tips?
I can get into bootloader mode. is my only option to flash a new ROM?
tks.
With the latest SKTools (if you don't wanna edit the registry) it's easy to move the Opera cache to the internal 4 gig storage instead.

Memory full - Help!

This morning i got a notification that my phone storage space is getting low. I have 12.8 MB free according to the system stats. It seems, though, that my phone thinks I have 0 MB free, as I tried to download something and it said I had no room (the file was a few dozen KB).
I then received a notice that a text had been rejected because my text message memory was full. I went in and did some house cleaning: deleted about 15 threads, some with 150-200 msgs in it. I then tried sending myself a test text, and it still said that my text message memory was full.
Anyone have any idea what's going on, and how to fix it? I'm having terrible flashbacks to my BB Curve when it didn't have a SD card in it.

This is Android's "dirty little secret". All of your apps are stored on your phone's internal storage. If you're on a N1 then you're running 2.2, right?
Go to settings>applications>manage applications> all, click on each app and see if you can move to SD. While you're in there, clear the less important app's cache. Google Earth is a HOG.
You can also root and flash CyanogenMod. Then You'll be able to put all apps on your SD.

I am on 2.2, but most of the apps I have can't be moved to SD because the developer hasn't enabled it.
How much internal storage does the N1 have? I don't have that many large apps on here. Maybe I should uninstall Google Earth, which is a huge hog, you're right.
Empty your browser cache; this is usually enough.
If you're willing to root, there are a few ways to fix this using your SD card.
If it's affecting SMS as well your cache is full.
Not ideal for this to full up before /data - you may need an app like CacheMate to manage it for you.
I had this happen once and it was my SD card that was actually full, not anything on the phone.
i once tried putting apps on sd, their widgets became useless for some reason

Don't put widgets on sd then. That is what Google specifically says not to do. Simple enough. Don't put anything on sd that has to continuously run, services, live wallpapers, widgets.
having the same problem, all my caches are empty though. it said it had to reject a text due to lack of memory. now that i have freed up some (at 32mb free atm) it still doesn't receive the text.
this is a major downside on android's part.

I have all my apps on sd card that can be loaded there. I am having the same problem with low memory and messages not allowed. I had to uninstall a couple of apps that load only on internal memory and I hate that. Is there any way to check internal memory and clear that up? I have cleared as much cache as possible through manage applications in settings. Is there any other way to free up internal memory? Using CM6.0.3 rooted

I have something over 100 apps on my phone, not Gapps, just downloaded stuff. If I'm reading it right titanium backup backs up over 200. I have a 16 GB sd card and I'm using CM6 which allows me to put whatever apps on my SD I want. Other ROMs let you do this as well, or you can root and move all your apps to SD. I just personally like CM6. Be careful though, I've noticed that some apps that get moved don't work or strangely disappear. especially if they have a widget. There is a link to the one click app in my signature below. It's called universal androot.
Good luck.
I am rooted as well and using CM6, most of my apps are loaded on my16 gig card, however some of them won't let me load to my card (slingbox, etc). I was just wondering if there is a way to access my internal memory to see if there were some things I could delete that I didn't need anymore. Any help would be appreciated

My advise: Just root using Androidroot (1click-root) and after that search in Xda for setinstalllocation, download and install it and move all your apps to the sd-card (don't move widgets, autostart apps, root apps? or services). Did that last week and get back almost 40 mb in internal storage.
While you are doing it suggest you install from the market cachmate for root - it will be your day-a-day friend.
Best of all if i'm correct, you will Keep your warranty ok since you don't unlock your bootloader

How? I have been searching for solution after installing cutom Rom and now I have 3.6mb memory on my sensation after clearing all cache, data in apps. Please helpif you can as I cannot find specific answer and I cannot post to development pages I got the Rom.
Noob here. Noob on XDA anyway. I've owned by Nexus One for over two years now and I've been pretty happy with it. However, I am finally running out of internal memory, even after moving all the apps I could to flash.
Actually, it's mostly TMobile's crappy voicemail app's fault that I am here. If there is less than 10% of space on the device, it flips out and won't download voicemails any longer, which is horrible.
So, here I am today, I just rooted my phone and using posts like this one, I am figuring out how I can force some of those greedy apps onto my sdcard to free up some space. I will probably go with a custom rom here too soon, since there will no longer be updates for the Nexus One.
I know there are much much better phones out now, but this thing works and has been very good.

I'm not sure how this works on the sensation, but try this.
Since you already have a custom ROM, I'm assuming your phone has been rooted. In that case, install darktremor's a2sd script. You'll have to create and ext3 or ext4 partition on your sd card, and then the script will automatically move some apps to the ext partition freeing up space on your phones data partition.

The same goes for you.
I can't post the link for the script, but just search the forums or google for dta2sd and you'll find it.
To create an ext partition, I would recommend using 4ext recovery.
Hope this helps.

[Q] internal memory usage list?

As many others have, I frequently run into a lack of internal memory on my nexus. I only ever have about 20 mb free. So today I decided to try and figure out what takes up all my internal mem.
I have a stock, non rooted phone running 83d.
I use apps 2sd and dolphin browser with cache on sd
I went to apps2sd and added up all the package sizes of the apps on my phone memory, came up to about 93mb. Yet I only have about 20mb free. That means about 70mb is being used up by other crap. Phone and contact storage is only 2mb each. So what is eating my memory and how can I find out? is there an app that'll chart out internal memory usage by app/file?

93mb of apps is just for the actual app .apk file. app data takes a HUGE amount of space.
most things i've got left on the phone don't really have much associated data from the ones i've checked anyway. Still, can't believe there's no app to show internal mem usage. There's tons of them for the SDcard... Also, diskusage is only for sdcard. I'd still like an easy way to see what's taking up all my internal mem and decide if i want to uninstall it or clear the data or whatever.
As soon as you open diskusage, it asks if you wanna see internal or external...

I like this disk usage app,i find it interesting how the developer used the tap to com on the different layouts and how data is used

[Q] All available space disappearing ( AllianceROM Galaxy Note GT-N7000)

Hi all. Today i started experiencing a very peculiar problem. I opened the Camera app and got a message: "Not enough memory". I had some megabytes left actually, but i checked Settings>Storage and it didn't report any available space. I deleted some files (~169 MB). Storage then showed 169 MB of free space. I opened Camera again, same problem. Went to Settings>Storage, 0 space available. Deleted more files(34 MB). Free space 34 MB. Open Camera, same message. Check Storage, no space available. (Settings>Storage Only shows Pictures, video; Audio; Download; Miscellaneous files. Available space is not even shown, but the USB storage bar has a grey part)
My phone is GT-N7000 running on AllianceROM ICS Final, I've been on this ROM for about a month. If more technical information is needed for your answer, just ask.
I have tried: rebooting, clearing data and cache of Camera and Gallery, wiping cache partition.
Any solutions for this problem?
Thanks for your answers in advance!
P.S. Sorry if this question was asked already elsewhere, I wasn't able to find any useful information.
Download an app that will show you what is taking up so much space, just have a look in google play
Also check your data/log file. Delete if lot of memory used there.
So... I deleted 400 more megabytes, and then I got 200 MB free space. If this space doesn't disappear, the problem is gone, I guess. All of this was very strange.
Thanks for the support anyway.

Software Update Insufficient Memory

I'm on OF3 update. S5 AT&T obviously. I just recently tired to update my software, and a message saying insufficent storage showed up. Which was logical, I didn't have much space. It said the update was something like 300MB. But after uninstalling a couple apps and deleting a $hit ton of photos, I now have 3GB. But the update won't start? The message still shows in the notifications, and I can't open it. I tried restarting and shutting off. Nothing. I know battery can sometimes be an issue, but I had 80%. So I need initiate the download.
You need to create 4 to 7 GB of free space on your phone. Others have been having the same issue.
Resolution
The issue may be related to available storage memory on the device. If clearing space does not resolve the issue, the device can be updated to the latest version of software at an AT&T DSC or Best Buy Samsung location.
To resolve the issue:
1) Clear Cached Data
Tap Settings > Storage > Cached data > Clear Cached data
Try downloading the software update again
2) Create at least 4 to 7 GB of free storage space
Tap Settings > System Tab > Storage > Available Space to check current storage usage
Delete Unnecessary files (such as Pictures/Video/Music Files)
3) Visit an AT&T Device Support Center or Best Buy location for help updating to the latest software
