GPS problem - Galaxy Note 4 General

Hi everybody I have a problem with my note 4 GPS: if I try to use maps or GPS status and toolbox it can't connect to any GPS signal, what can I do?
I have an European note 4

For me, i will download and install a stock Rom from Samfirmware and hope it's only a software problem. If gps still doesn't work, it maybe is a hardware problem already which is harder to fix.
But before this, you can try first clearing the data of your gps app, or you can do factory reset. Usually it's only a software problem.

There is a chance the area that you are using your Note 4 in has really bad GPS reception. That has happened to me a few times in different place. Or it could be a problem with the GPS app that you are using. Have you tried changing your location settings to just use GPS Satellites?

[Q] GPS not working after flash

Hi,
I have a SGS with Orange in France
I was JF3 then i flashed to JM9 and noticed that the GPS wasn't working anymore, the icon appears and shows that the GPS is searching, but it never finds any signal and i can't have any location.
I tried JM8: same problem
JPK: same problem
With GPS test everything stays at 0...
The GPS was working well on JF3, I think it was ROM problem, but since i tried many different versions, it seems to be another thing...
Ayone has any solution for this ?
Thanks for your help!
I tried to flash JM5, but still no results...
And with the *#*#1472365#*#* command, i tried some tests, and the GPS never finds satellites...
Need to set it to cold start. Clear gps data. Go outside and run the get gps position test.

Okay thanks,
It finds one satellite, but all the above fields are empty...
No latitude, longitude... etc.
PRN [21]---> CNo 12dbhz .....
i had the same problem when i upgraded my firmware from JF3 to JG4
Ok it works now, seems like you need to be outside, i mean with no roof or whatever... then it works great ! With GPS Test i detect from 6 to 12 sats and pinpoint localization.
I guess i was a bit noob to GPS...
It will work marginally indoors once u get an initial fix as I outlined above and stay on same relative area.

[Q] Incredible S GPS problem..

In my incredible s mobile gps fix is taking more time & sometime it wont fix at all...i have compared my mobile with my frds mobile (incredible s) in hes mobile it fix very quick.. but in my mobile its taking time to fix and most of time it wont fix the gps...
plz somebody solve these problem.....
Do you have a rooted device? Then you have some solutions for that problem.
Try FasterFix, manage & check your GPS with GPS Status & Fix
This is probably the best solution: Wipe efs cache
Had some problem connecting to the satellite just now. It was cloudy.
Then I tried FasterFix and it DID solved my problem. Location fixed under 2 minutes. Thanks a lot. =)
Mine didn't connect even after the device detected 12 satellites... even after keeping it on for 5 minutes, downloaded apps to monitor the progress of the gps fix... no luck..
I then downloaded an app called gps status and downloaded A-gps data for my area...
didn't really help,
then I turned off fast boot and restarted the phone and believe it or not I've been getting 4 second fixes now... I don't really know what did the job, but it works... just try it once, doesn't hurt to try

try gps status , to see if is an app error from navigator and other gps programs or RC3.1 probleme , and if are ICS probleme try first to flash devil led kernel
and a wipe cache
I though onecosmic's RC 3.X was only for the i9000 and not i9001.
Well I Tried and looked at the gps status, I didn't really get what am i sepoused to do there, I reset and cleared all gps data and downloaded it after wards..
the app didn't show any errors ..
Try to get GPS Aids from market. Had the same problem and that fixed my gps
Tried the gps aids too... Ain't working.. anything else?...
When I tried the gps doctor at gps aids, it showed me that the gps mode status is not working (the cube near it is red) and after trying the setup and the fix everything possibility it still ain't working... any idea?

Try to download the GPS test and install it, then go to settings and select clear agps, then update agps.
Oh and dont try the gps inside your house! Try it in the middle of the street! Gps signal is always reeeally weak or undetectable inside a house.
Unhappy to say, still didn't work!
Can you post the exact ROM and kernel version you are using?
Also try the following. Disable wifi, reboot phone, try GPS test.
I had GPS problems a while ago and the workaround was to boot the phone with wifi disabled. Something todo with init scripts messing up GPS/BT.
When in Google maps do you get the GPS icon in the status bar when trying to GPS fix?
try this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STlb...xt=C3c039cbUDOEgsToPDskJOGd0pTyqyB6SPWL6OcwDB
Better to just send it back to samsung for them to fix if it's under warranty. If not, just sell it and get another one. I really like my SGS but i've given up hope for gps. I've just accepted it doesn't work and be happy the phone's great in everything else (like sound). Was kind of gutted having paid so much for a phone with a non-working gps but to be honest i have little need for a gps so when i need one i just use a dedicated one.
Now I'm using RC4.2 ICS By Onecosmic, Gps Still aint working well, I do get the gps icon... but still, my location ain't really accurate and I cant navigate or anything..
I tried the video that have been posted, None improvment...
Is there any thing else?..
The GPS issue with the i9000 is a mystery to me. I've tried software and hardware fixes to no avail with GB based ROMs. However, when I switched to Slim's ICS ROM my device started to register satelites again with the GPS test app from the market. Despite this when I open the maps app it takes forever to get a fix, so long infact that I give up long before it ever does
Same issue AOKP Milestone 4 ICS. Nothing on GPS Status.
I use market app GPS aid.

phone can't get GPS signal

I am using my phone outside and try to reach GPS signal. I settings localization section i have selected GPS. In 15 minutes phones can't catch the signal and get my positioml. And I think that it isn't normal behavior. I am using original software from LG version 4.0.3. I try using few different apps like google maps, GPS Test, and GPS Status but still nothing. Is this software problem or hardware issue?
Best regards

Just re-flash your phone (first try "factory reset"), don't mess with the settings in the "GPS Test" and try also this:

Note 9 GPS problems after updating to One UI

Hello guys,
After updating my note 9 to the One UI I encounter some really annoying problems with my GPS.
I can't really use Waze or Gmaps because the location is not working properly. The GPS keeps losing signal all the time, city or highway.
I downloaded GPS test and it seems like the phone can't lock the signal properly, even when it succeeded, the accuracy is really bad, around 32 - 64 meter, and sometimes more.
I tried to look for other cases on the internet but I couldn't find anything.
Is anyone encounter this problem? Can offer a solution that might solve it?
Thanks.
Obviously thinking that not having problems before with Oreo excludes hardware issues, try first of all to make a wipe cache in recovery mode to see if resolves and if not, try wipe data in settings - applications of every single app involved and if all done is worthless, try even to reinstall the single app. If not resolving I think that a factory reset, always from recovery, is needed because don't know others, me included, having this issue .
I'm using a Note FE and I recently updated my device to Pie with One UI and my GPS problem is exactly like yours. I need help too. Can't seem to find any solution.

I had that issue with my note 9 sprint version when i flashed tmobile u1 android pie, i ended doing a factory reset and everything worked fine after that. My google maps would lose signal when i put phone into standby it would say lost gps signal or something like that. But if i used the app it would work fine.
