Cases for leather back - G4 Accessories

Anybody knoe of any releases of the cases for the leather back option?
theres a clear plastic one that ive seen.
is there any other?

Almost didn't order the leather back for this reason of not finding a case. But when I saw T-Mobile having leather back for the same price as plastic back I ordered the leather. Ebay sells the leather back covers for like $60, so I figured that like saving $60.
But now I can't find a compatible clear case for the leather back either! Crap.
If anybody finds one leather compatible on Amazon.com please post it here!!

I ordered this one in green. It is compatible with leather back... So it says
I'll update once I get my phone and put it on

I hear there are bumper cases. Its like a case but for the edges. So I guess if you have a leather back that can cushion the blow. And the bumper can protect corner falls and maybe front if its think enough

It's just to much bulk/case for me, and covers my colors, I am leaning towards the Ringke FUSION in crystal clear as simple, clean, clear, and claims to cover leather.

I ordered these two... One gel clear case. And one hard clear case.
Hard to resists for that money.

Bad news the Verus is NOT compatible with leather back phones. Total misprint on amazon site
Edit.... Bad info on my part.... The most recent review on amazon said it didn't fit however my brother just threw his on the leather tmobile phone and it fits like a glove. Nice case too.

A case? Really?
So you buy a phone with an awesome leather backing and you put it in a case? What sense does that make? Am I the only one who will put a glass screen protector on my lg and enjoy the phone properly.

He wasn't sure if he'd like the leather but bought it since it was free (essentially) and figured worse case he'd get plastic later. We took advantage of free trial amazon prime to order everything so just decided to order in bulk.
Coming from the m8 the only thing I really miss are the speakers... But the speaker on the G4 is actually better than I figured it'd be

Agreed... BUT you can buy bumpers (just around the edge and raised lip) and/or clear cases like what I link to so you can see the leather.
I do not intend to use a case, BUT there are times and activities I participate in where a case can be nice, so I like to have one just "in case" (no pun intended).

I did order this one.

Finally got it on. Very snug fit on leather cover and cery hard to get it off. But looks awesome!

I think I am sticking with leather case and a tempered glass protector.

Agreed. I can't order that nice leather back and then cover it up. Just my opinion.

Tempered glass helps + bumper case and your good to go

Yea I agree it is a risk. I do have insurance but I will try to get a bumper case if I find the right one. I just figure if I intended on getting a case I personally would go with the non leather backs. Either way it looks like it is a terrific phone and I hope it has a ton of development.

Poetic and Samsung Official Case.

I ordered the Poetic since it was $5 on Amazon and I like the Poetic case on my Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. I also ordered the official Samsung Protective Cover because of the 50% coupon off. I actually don't mind the thickness of the Poetic case but the lower right corner "lip" does not hold the phone tight enough. It needs to come up and over more like the front. However, it did not slip off the case while I was holding it upside down so the other 3 corners did a good enough job. The thing I like about the Poetic case is that when you snap the front cover shut, it will do a very good job of protecting the phone should it slip while you pull it out of your pocket. It does however, double the thickness of the phone.
The official Samsung case which is more like a TPU case also came in. It is very thin and I wish the front lip would rise a little higher to protect the front glass in case of a drop. Most of you might like it and think that it is thick enough. Anyway, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

I am still waiting for this case to come in. I returned the official flip cover case since it was too thin and offers no drop protection.
I linked to that last flip case in another thread. I really like the way they've used the raised corner protection on the case. It looks like it should protect the phone no matter what angle a fall might impact on.
I'm eager to hear what you make of it once you've received it, along with a few photos of it on the phone, especially how much higher the raised corners rise above the screen. Tia

I ordered the Poetic slimbook case that released today. All the Poetic slimbook cases get great reviews on youtube for other devices. 4.95? The price was so cheap, I thought it was a mistake. The slimbook case looks very similar to the 50 dollar flip cases that are more stylish. Crazy deal. The hardbacks like this white one are ok..kinda generic plain looking.

Let me know how that one works out. How secure it holds the phone and more importantly, is there any protection at the top of the phone. Makes me want to order another one but I already have 2 cases plus one more coming and I only have one phone!

Yes, I really like the raised corner shown in the picture. It is coming from China so at least another week before I get it.
Aquaholik, any further feedback on the Poetic case? Would you recommend it?
My main concern is the added bulk, how is it for fitting in the pocket? Also how easy for removing? I might use the case for home use (to protect if kids use), and a TPU case when I'm out and about.
I have one ordered one from Amazon, but can still cancel as not shipped yet.

It is very easy to remove. No problem going in and out of my pocket since I wear slack pants most of the time. Jean pocket, forget it. I am neutral on it. It was $5, a bit thick, looks plain but offer good protection. I lay it against a flat surface on every angle and don't see any gap in drop protection. The stock case is nice but this is a big phone with lots of glass and that mm of raised lip isn't going to protect the phone when drop face down on concrete. So I am putting all my hope on the Ebay case. When I am out and about, the phone will stay in the poetic case.

Question
I am interested in buying this case but I don't like cases that stick to my pocket while pulling them out. Does this matte case have any problems?
I notice that there is a line/indentation around the back of the case - does this trap dirt/lint? I am wondering why they placed it there in the first place.
Thanks.

It goes in and out of my jeans pockets with no issues. If you wear skinny jeans, then I can't help you. It is remarkable to me how little dirt/lint stick to this thing. It is made of hard but flexible rubber, I haven't found anything sticking to it. Keep in mind, its a barely bigger than the phone and it does push up my screen protector in the lower left hand corner. My Spigen case didn't do that, but it made the phone feel huge to me.
Thanks!
Thanks for the info. What kind of screen protector do you have? I have purchased Invisible Defender (screen protector) and diztronic case. Hopefully they wont cause huge problems.
Thank you.

It's just a cheap clear one from Amazon. This case really hugs the screen, it adds almost no width at all. Its not really noticeable unless I look for it, I wouldn't think you'll have huge problems.

Spigen cases always seem to add unnecessary bulk, especially width to phones with their cases. And their colored plastic backs scratch and swirl like crazy.
They are extremely overrated and overpriced imo.

Can someone test something out on this case for me?
Are you able to stick 1 Credit Card and 1 photo ID on the inside of the back of the case? Will the case stay on and clip to the phone?
I am doing just that on my current phones case and would like to know what cases I can replicate this on.
Thanks in advance!

For everyone wanting to get a screen protector that fits with this case, the Supershieldz screen protector from Amazon doesn't get in the way of the case if installed well (AT&T version).

What are the thinnest Flex cases? Post pictures if you can. The only issue I have with the Flex if you call it a issue is that I don't want to hide the curves. lol I want the thinnest case. Might just have to go with a full body protector.

problem with those shrink wrapped type skins is that if you drop the phone on its edge, on concrete, they wont keep you from chipping the phone...

This one. Only a few bucks so what the heck. A local mall has a invisible shield store and I wanted to have them install one but they said it might be a week til they get it. Might buy one online and have them put it on. I'm kind of picky and thinking they might not stay on with a curved phone as well though. I've had clear plastic cases that don't add much bulk but that's not happening with a curved phone. lol

I had one of those on my one maxx; its OK, for a cheapo, but not as flexible as the other one you ordered..
for the price, its worth having around.
BTW, I had installed one of those skins on my flex; it was ok for a few days, then it started to come up around the round corners, so I don't know if one is good for a rounded phone like this. I am good at installing these things, but I couldn't get it perfect...
I'm still thinking about getting LG flip case. I know it's pricey but the discount helps and it provides good protection. Don't think you need a screen protctor with that case.

Feather Shine
So I just put the Feather Shine on - it's a nice case, and looks pretty good. There's a strange thing, however: the corners on the front are shaped/recessed in such a way that when the phone is lying face down, the phone's top and bottom edges and corners are in contact with the table. I would prefer if the feather shine was what was touching the table.
I'm very curious about the Vest thing that LG has on their site. I can only find it (so far) from Korean vendors on eBay, with 3-4 week delivery times, so I haven't pulled the trigger. It seems to be minimalist protection, focusing protection exactly on the area I am concerned about: the front corners and top and bottom edges of the phone. Does anyone know someplace in the US that's selling these?
Thanks!
I have the quick window case. It's a nice design with nice patterns and such. The only thing I didn't like was that it really doesn't stand up to scratches much. It makes a nasty scuff Mark on the front of the door where it hits the back of the phone. I bought a vest from overseas last week for $20 on eBay. We'll see how that goes.

Tech 21 D3O Impact Shell Review

Hey Guys,
I have decided to just jump the gun and buy the Tech 21 D3O impact shell from the T-Mobile store. The case ended up be $10 and something cents. I bought it at the store and they gave me a 30% discount for checking into Foursquare otherwise the price of the case is $16.99 not including tax. The case can be purchased online at: http://www.t-mobile.com/accessories/lg-g2-d3o-impact-shell-smoke.html.
I currently own 2 cases including the case I have. I have this case and the Spigen Slim Armour. I love both of the cases but I do prefer this Tech 21 case. Both cases are well built and will definitely survive a fall. I have not dropped the case, but I feel like the technology behind the case will definitely protect it from a fall. I currently have the xtremeguard screen protector on the phone and the case does push the screen protector up, but the lip of the case covers more of the screen than the Spigen case so it doesn't have the problem as often. The case has an awesome feel to it. It has a matte feel and offers more grip that the Spigen. The case is also rounded so it doesn't feel like it is cutting into your hand. I personally bought the smoke version, but there is a purple version available. The case looks awesome with the orange bands going around the circumferance of the phone while the rest of the smoke color of the case allows you to see through the back to see the G2 symbol. I do own the AT&T D800 version and it has the cut out for the 2nd microphone on the back. The case feels like TPU with D3O that surround the phone.
Hopefully this everyone. If you are looking for a new case, IMHO this is a case to consider.
Here are the pictures that I was going to post.

Thanks for the review. I have thought about this case. How would you compare it to a tpu case. Looks like one except for the orange band which seems to be the D30 technology.
Also how thick and bulky is it in comparison to a tpu case.

It honestly feels like a TPU case with the D3O tech like you were saying. I don't own a TPU case for the G2 but I have had TPU cases in the past and this stuff feels a little more flexible but it still maintains its shape when it is on the phone. The case fits nicely and it looks good as well. The case actually doesn't add too much bulk. It keeps the shape of the phone and is slightly thicker than without a case. I feel like it is definitely not as "bulky" as the Spigen case as well. :good:

I also had the Spigen Slim Armour as my first case for the G2. But I also got the Tech 21 case, and although I still like the Slim Armour case, the Tech 21 is better for me as the edges are more rounded and it's a little less bulky than the Slim Armour.
I keep my college ID card in the back of my current phone case, so I like cases that are easy to take on and off. Is this one easy to take on and off?

The case is easy to take off. But you might run into the problem of the case not fitting properly. The case is pretty tight on the phone, so the case might not be happy with you. I can try it out and see if I can get a picture for you.

Thatd be great, if you don't mind!

Here are the pictures. The case is a little funky after the id is put in. It is definitely not meant to be there but it could potentially work. I put my school id and it is the side and thickness of a credit card. Hopefully this and the pictures help.

Thanks, I really appreciate it. Could you tell me how easy it is to take the card in and out of the case? Does the case come off easily without being dangerously loose?

I would say that the case is a little harder to take off. The card is also pretty snug in there. The case also barely hangs on too. The case definitely adds space between the case and phone.

I wish that they sold these somewhere other than T-Mobile.

Ya. I know what you mean. I drove 30 mins to get mine. But I don't use it too often because it pushes my screen protector up. But I still use it every once in a while.

At least you had the option. If you're not in the States or close to the border, good luck. I wish there was a way to get one.

What cases is everyone using?

Exactly what the title asks.
This is not a thread for what you think is the best N5X case out there. This thread is for you to post what case/s you use and your experience with it.
It is also to help other users find new cases that they may like.
Maybe include a link if you think it's good.

Spigen Air Cushion CLEAR: http://amzn.to/1NS1asB
I purchased one of these. They fit perfectly and is the thinnest case that I can find. It's a matte finish so there's plenty of grip. My only gripe is the shipping time. It took roughly 2 weeks for delivery.

I have both the Adopted case (perfect cutouts and fit) and the black Diztronic slim fit case. I like the Diztronic case more and it's what I use.

How's the grip on that case compared to the naked phone? It looks quite thin in the pictures which is what I'm looking for.

The grip is almost exactly like the naked phone. If I had to give it a scale from 1-10 (10 being naked phone grip) it would fall around 7-7.5.
Here's 2 pictures of the case on my phone. Sorry for the ****ty pic, It's a random camera I found in the office.

To add to the thread, I'm using the Diztronic case now that I've received the modified version with proper mic holes.
Case is fairly bulky as expected but their matte plastic is some of the best in the business and the grip is top notch.
I'm hoping to find an ultra thin case with little to no lip, such as the official LG made Hardshell (or Shield) case for the Nexus 5.

Oh wow that looks almost exactly like the N5 case I was talking about. Thanks for sharing!
I found a seller on Canadian side of Amazon as well, but no from the U.S site. Odd.

When I bought my hardshell for my N5 it came from Canada as well, didn't see a U.S seller for a couple months after. I hope this one has the same feel and thinness to it.

I have Tudia Ultra Slim Full-Matte case for my phone. Have it for 2 weeks. I like it, it fits perfectly + all the ports/hols are there.

I got the Spigen Thin fit case. Good grip, a protective lip and adds very little bulk: http://www.spigen.com/collections/nexus-5x/products/nexus-5x-case-thin-fit?variant=6502712001
Spigen thin fit, barely know it's there. Also, a tempered glass screen protector.

Enjoying it so far
This is a CaseMe Nexus 5X leather folio case. I got it for $10 on eBay. Thought I was going to get something lower quality for $10 but this case is actually solidly built, well stitched, and has a good feel to it.
