Do you mean this situation?

yes!

I have the same problem, just my spot is smaller and it doesnt always happen, only about 10% of the time. I didn't even realize it was happening until I saw it here and tried it in service menu.
Any idea what could cause it?

no problem

Clearpad firmware in please
Hi Everyone,
could you help me by providing screenshot of the clearpad firmware info under: service menu >> service info >> firmware info.
i got my z3+ lcd-digitizer module replaced, after then tap-to-wake no longer works and slow touch screen response.
got the phone reflashed already still same problem occurs.
i'm thinking this has to do with the touchscreen controller.
This is the screenshot of clearpad firmware info of the replacement display module:

Thank you AJMeister!
Got a new lcd now, found out that the old one is using a a non synaptics brand controller that caused the problem.
The replacement one is working as expected and all features are enabled

2X G-sensor problem!!!

I am using O2X with stock ROM. (HK 10D)
Recently, I found that the G-Sensor is not appropriately indicated the correct degree.
It has a little bit deviation when I play games or use it to measure the horizontal level although I make sure the phone is placed in a flatness place without affecting by raised camera.
How can I fix this problem? Should I visit to customer service or the problem can be adjusted by software?
thanks a lot.

Hi,
You can calibrate the sensor. Try GPS status from the android market: market.android.com/search?q=pname:com.eclipsim.gpsstatus2
Check under menu - tools.

Hi Telstra users,
I would just like to ask if anyone here on the .259 firmware is still experiencing the infamous touch screen problem after updating from .257 to .259? your reply is very much appreciated.

So you definately didn't have that problem with the previous firmware?
Because the issue you raise here is an issue all the time, and would appear to be hardware related rather than firmware.

What he means is the firmware is pretty much the same as everyone else, the iteration of the update is only Telstra customisation.

Just asking this because someone tipped me that his touch issue was solved by flashing the .259 from Telstra so I'm just wondering if that will be the case and wanted to have feedback from the owners.
I've always had this problem and still hoping in the next update that this will be solved. Tipo and Miro have this issue too and a third party app solved the problem.

it would be good if you have the problem since we can really test if the update solved it but since you have a non faulty phone trying it would be not a good idea since we cannot really test or prove something.
Thanks man for the help that you have offered. I'm really just a frustrated z1 owner and I cant use my phone especially in games since I always lose touch.

What's keeping you from trying yourself? I mean, you have the problem, you heard the .259 fixed it... If you want to know for real if it does, flash it yourself.

i'm pretty sure it's a software issue, i downloaded that app they mentioned and when i test my touch screen it always goes fine.
but i too did sometimes notice my touchscreen failing to register touches during games, after long time of playing, but if i quit and reenter the game it's all fine again...
so it's not a hardware problem, defenetly software, sony are aware of it and will solve it, fast i hope.
First I've heard of it haha
Had my Z1 for about 3-4 months and been on 259 for probably half that. No issue prior or post update

Why don't you take the phone back or try some other ones to see if they have the same issue, for instance in your telco shop. If they don't get your phone replaced.

Customer service is really sucky here in my country. If you send your phone for repair when it comes back parts are stolen and will charge you even for parts and repair. Tried some units that were on display and dont have that annoying issue.
Fingers crossed since nexus 7 2013 had the same problems and I'm hoping that an update will fix this.

What do you mean by the two codes? I'll flash the telstra update through flashtool. However, will I still be able to use my phone in my current network?

If you use flash tool the two codes don't matter, yes after you have flashed, then flash back the just the baseband from your current provider
A couple of days ago I flashed just the 259 Kernel and I would say the touch screen improved a bit, but it kept failing. I would say mostly if you touch near one of the screen borders.
I just flashed the whole 259 firmware and my screen keeps failing as with just the kernel... only difference is now I have a weird boot logo and root is gone!

Yes, because it is a standard ROM, same would happen if you restored your phone with PC Companion.

Ok, some questions, On the box of your phone is write "Made in Brazil"? If you put your phone on a flat surface, wait 30 sec and try to scroll a page it will fail? When you are playing a game and the phone is hot your touch fails? If yes you have a hardware problem, ask for a replacement, i had to change my phone 3 times until find a working one, my other 2 Z1 was made in Brazil, now the working one is made in China, some people with the China one have this problem too, but is rare. The Brazilian version is having an assembly problem, causing bad contact, if this is your case change the phone.

Ok, make a try with games and see if the problem will appears, i recommend you to do the following, pick a camera and record the problem when it appears, then take to store and change the phone, BUT before you go out test if the problem will come on the new phone, that was what i did, i stayed 3 hour inside the store testing
@MakaMika Sorry to say but you can join us here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2540950
Anyway, still some chance to fix this touch screen problems with a software, a good new FW which we wait for it but I will not wait until that and I will send the phone back to the store when you bought it a tell them to fix it or replace with a new device, like I did. The phone still under warranty and should be issues free and it's not so you have the rights to send it back. Sony Service will decide if repair or replace.
3 hours???LOOL I guess i ll try the gaming test, what game do you recomand to heat up the phone quickly?

Yo eclyptos, have you checked the sony forums? one of the mods replied that a software fix that will cure our ****ty problem will be released in the next update. Cross fingers for that.
My problem occurs even when browsing pictures, swiping in the pattern lock and gaming especially Shooting games like CK2

This hardware issues can be managed via software that is why we wait for that FW. BTW we are not sure when and how and if it's hardware or software related but new FW should definitely help. They are aware about this issues and they point the FW in that way to fix it.

Me too. I try to clarified, Sony never confirmed it's a hardware problem of they touch screen. People has different Touch Screen issues, someone when touch the aluminium frame the Touch Screen start working well again, someone else don't have that but have problem scrolling pages or opening the phone with pattern even if they touch the aluminium frame or not. So here is the confusion, who have to touch the aluminium frame to let working the Touch Screen saying it's a hardware related (kind of wrong phone sealing) and others who have the problem even when touching the aluminium frame or not saying it's a software related. Many said also after the update to 4.3 the touch screen get worse, like mine. Now do you understand the confusion? Many send the phones back via warranty, many waiting for a FW pointed to fix this issues. Developers are aware about this Touch Screen problem so they try to fix it, even if seems hardware related, with the release of the new updated FW .114, .124 or 136, who know?
Yes,I get you.mine works well when touching the aluminum frame.I guess after all i should return it,didnt even enjoy the few days of having it
Are you sure that a hardware problem can be solved with software update? I mean, i know that software can turn around some issues, but this is not certain

Exactly, we don't know this yet. We have to wait for a new FW pointed to fix this problem. If they do it's a software issue.

Hi folks
I have searched in many places to solve my issue but nothing is reliable.
Few days after upgrading to 4.4 my screen started act weirdly.
I did factory reset but it still not working
The only possible cause - I guess - is using another recharge for few days .
Do anyone else face same issue or know how to be solved ...
See attached picture please
