You need to use fastboot.
Make sure you have fastboot installed on your computer.
Open the terminal in your computer.
Turn your phone off.
Then turn it on by pressing Volume Down + Power.
Wait for a bit then select "fastboot" using the power button.
Then connect your phone to your computer.
Then in the terminal in the computer, type:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
**Replace "recovery.img" with the file you want to install.
then go back to the main bootloader screen and select recovery using the power button.

Thank you.i finaly make it

I do all step but cmd says
'fastboot flash recovery 'TWRP_2.8.7.0_vivo.img' is not recognize as an internal or external cammand operable program or batch file.

Hi, @szezso could you tell me what version this cwm? Because i just flashed it and I am sure it isn't cwm.. It says cyanogen recovery and there is like 5-6 options like wipe cashe and install update.. But there is no advanced wiping like wipe system..
"The reason I flashed cwm instead of twrp is that my backlight is f*cked up and anything more than 50% brightness will turn it off.. Twrp 2.6.0 didn't and this cwm didn't also.. The backlight works fine.. But this twrp did "

It this support vivo V3Max ?
or any versions ?

getting error
C:\Users\Deepak>fastboot flash recovery TWRP_2.8.7.0_vivo.img
error: cannot load 'TWRP_2.8.7.0_vivo.img'
now fastboot how can recognize file by itself
can you please tell me

download 2.6.3.3 from here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
make sure MD5 is correct, otherwise it's a bad download
(don't use a download manager on that site, it will fail)
then in bootloader/FASTBOOT USB
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-m7.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
-> enter recovery
Thanks

Ok, so the ROM by pabx, This rom does not have in built arrangement for TWRP, you will have to compile it on your own.
You will find the steps here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/turorial-add-twrp-to-boot-img-t2951658
and then flash TWRP to Fotakernel first and then flash boot.img
learn something new everyday
could I flash a philz recovery?
I can't find a .zip and can't do "fastboot recovery.img "the philz.img
thanks
I have not tried Philz, so i cannot give you an answer.
you may want to head over to this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/z-xzdualrecovery-qa-t2477769
Had the same problem.
TWRP Recovery wasn`t available after I flashed yuga.
Used "TWRP Manager" (only with root) which worked for me even when the app said that the installation failed. After rebooting I was able to enter TWRP again.
SO I installed This and I now have TWRP 2.8.
0! My rom won't boot any more, but who cares I can now install CM!..............I hope
have you tries the hack that oliver has on his thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57718351&postcount=2
flash Olivers TWRP to FotaKernal and then from cm recovery flash the hack, reboot and enter recovery and check
I have not personally check but give it a try if you like.

@parasthakur37 Did you build this from CWM source, or is just busybox included in the original stock recovery with verifications removed?
Thanks And, why don't you post screenshots and source if it's built from source??
And, is this different from [RECOVERY] CWM-based Recovery v6.0.5.1 for Yureka

Problem with the recovery: TWRP doesn't start

Hello everyone, i have some problems with the twrp recovery since 4 months ago and now i try to search from some help; the problem it's that ever that i try to start from the recovery, it never start, it only stays in the TWRP logo and never starts, i try to remplace for CWM but it's outdated and i don't like ( the curious is that the cwm works "fine" xD), so i hope that you can help me (and understand me, 'cause the english it's not my native language)... Thanks to all!
Install twrp 3.0.0 via the twrp manager app from the play store. Try version 3.0.0 I have had this same problem with 3.0.2-3 make sure you install the titan build. Let me know if that does not work.

Hi just reflash the twrp recovery via bootloader .....it works for meeeee.....
Sent from my titan using Tapatalk
FIX !!!
Download TWRP Recovery IMG and fastboot and adb files from the web and open it by Right clicking and pressing Shift on a blank space in the directory it is extracted . Click on open command prompt here ....
type adb devices to check your phone is connected properly ( Activate USB Debugging in your phone )
if it lists your device type adb reboot bootloader and it should go to fastboot mode ...
type fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Note that the name of the IMG File may differ so change it or rename it to twrp
Now your Recovery is successfully installed you can carry on ...
