[Q] Xperia Z3+/Z4 - Batterylife - Xperia Z4/Z3+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey folks,
I am very interested what kind of Battery Life you, who are already owning this device, get.
I was searching the Web but didn't find anything useful at all. First Reviews that were made of pre-Series-Devices point in direction, that the Batterylife isn't on par with the Sony Xperia Z3. Maybe you guys have another Story to tell ?
PS: I'm sorry for my english. Nevertheless I hope you may understand what i tried to say

From my experience I have had a Z, Z1, Z2 and tomorrow a Z3+ the firat 2-3 fw will ne heavy on the battery but after that it ia ironed out and while I am not expecting a huge boost over my Z2(300mAh more) I do expect it to come back ans match it which for me is perfect.
So if you want a real review you better wait a month or so till the new firmwares are out

You're expecting a match though I have a Z2 as well. In my case, Z3+ certainly doesn't last as much as the Z2. I'm taking advantage of the brighter display on Z3+, so that makes the comparison a little harder. But still Z2 has a better battery life at this moment - I think.

I'm expecting a match between the two further down the road. I am however not expwcting a match for the first month or so.

Xperia Z or Honami/i1

I am in a dilemma, I need a waterproof phone. I am thinking of the Z or the honami which is going to be announced on the 4th september with a potential october release date for the following reasons.
I know it is a rumour but i have heard about the honami potentially having a walkman s max music amp which would be good as I always felt the Z was a bit low in volume but I have heard that since the latest update it is gotten a bit louder which I am willing to work with.
Secondly the huge 3000mah battery
and lastly good 3g/signal
I am not fussed about the screen or processor speed or 20mp camera, so music, battery and good wi-fi/3g signal is my main priorities.
I am expecting the honami to be in the region of about £550 seeing as the Z was £520-£530 and honami does have beefed up specs, the Z is now £480 so potentially a £50-70 saving.
I have heard mixed reviews about the wi-fi reception and battery life of the Z and I would like to know owners opinions on the Z and what move you guys think I should make, should I get a Z now or wait.
Wait
I will sell my phone and buy honami when it will be out.
Edit: and i will make sure it's not UK unbranded

Late updates.
I will probably do the same, too. Selling the Z to get the Honami. I'm very interested in the Walkman capabilities of that device.
Ok thanks for your replies, the replies are already making me think twice about the z

Honami doesn't have a release date yet, the rumors are everywhere. I've heard October, January, etc. In other words, there's *always* something better right around the corner.

My main thing is i am happy enough with my s4 but its not waterproof and i got caught in the rain the other day and even though my s4 was in my pocket it was raining so heavily that my phone got wet and it has been a been iffy since.
I would have gpt the xperia z already if i didnt read so much about bad battery life and wifi signal
As tbh I dont really want to pay £50-70 more ontop of the z if the wi fi signal is good and the battery is good enough

its gud and battery life is fabulous after root and removing bloatware and greenify app....4hrs screen on time is superb...obvsly when the new phone comes it would surely have superb spec list and evn it wud be more faster...every 2 or 3 months something updated wud be on its way
its upon you what you want..xperia z is good and fabulous phone of sony..honami would surely be a beast but you know it would get costlier and costlier...i have never seen my xperia z lag when using at optimum speed...s4 pro chips is powerful n s800 would be more powerful next year qualcom wud announce more power chips as 3ghz chips are on its ways...
so finally think and make a wise decision because by november or dec the new phone rumour would start leaking abt sony next flagship

Indeed that is another thing to think about that next year Feb or March a new sony phone (next years flagship) will be out again and like I said I don't really want to pay £530-550 over the £480 for the Z (it could even be more). I will still have my S4 for back up.
Get zr....best waterproof phone I ve ever had.

Don't worry about the battery life, I had an S4 and sold it to buy the Z. The battery life is about the same on both.
However, I have noticed the wifi signal isn't that strong on the Z, disconnects sometimes. But I'm still on 4.1.2, gonna update to 4.2 and see if the wifi improves.

I decided to bite the bullet and save myself potentially £70 and bought a white xperia z this morning at p4u for £480, so far I am loving the phone. Haven't been able to test battery life yet but I am currently doing the software updates.

Advice on Xperia Z vs Z1

Hello, I am looking to switch to Tmobile US and I really was drawn to the Xperia Z line of phones being an iPhone guy normally I liked the build quality of them.
My question is, since the Xperia Z1 isn't on Tmobile as of now, should I get the Z and just wait for the Z2 to come out or should I hold out for the likely release of the Z1 on Tmobile? There have been quite a few leaked press shots and other reasons to believe the Z1 is coming to Tmobile US but who knows how long it could be based on the Xperia Z being 5 months late after global release.
I want to switch ASAP from ATT but I don't want to buy the Z and regret it when the Z1 comes out. Is the Z1 that big of an upgrade for anyone who owned the xperia Z? I am coming from iPhone and battery and smoothness are important and those two things seem to be what the Z1 improved on with the Snapdragon 800 and larger battery.
Thanks.
Don't buy Xperia Z. Wait for Z1. It's much better and smoother. I sold my Xperia Z to buy Z1 and I can say that buying Xperia Z is stupid.

I actually like the larger screen on the Z that I played with in the store. I just don't know what to do in the mean time especially if they take their time with the Z1 launch to sell of the old ones stock. I need to switch soon to avoid another big ATT bill if I can.
Coming from the Z, I would say that the Z1 is definitely an upgrade. A huge one at that. However if weight's your thing you have to note that the Z1 is 170g which isn't that light compared to the Z. The difference in weight is notable when you hold them...(and your IPhone is lighter so you'll want to take that into consideration)
In terms of smoothness, Z1 never lags. S800 chipset is great, definitely better than the S4 Pro. You won't feel the difference through regular use...
Battery wise Stamina mode will help extend battery life so don't worry about it. But as a power user I can tell you for sure that the bigger battery didn't lead to bigger battery life. Still, I can definitely get through a full day on 1 charge with enough juice to spare...
Hope I helped.

A powerful processor doesn't compensate for a poorly coded app(or not optimized for X device)
Even the super "smooth" iphone 5S can lag with the right app

Yes, I have also upgraded from Z to Z1, no comparison in terms or performance. Love not having to open a flap to insert my headphones!!! I find the Z1 better to hold in the hand, the Z to me was a little to square and I always felt like the Z was going to fall out of my hand. Love the magnetic charge port. If it was me right now in your position I would not be buying the Z

Really, I notice a huge difference on a daily basis with mine, I have an email app that marking all my mail messages as read used to take about 5-10 seconds, now well less than 1. No skipping of playing mp3's, draging things to your desktop now pretty much instant, vs a couple of seconds, launching apps way quicker, No lags.

Good to know, I was worry about the phone. AND goot to know they selling crap. Even on my HTC that app was the same.
I did a video a while back about the reasons why you may consider choosing the Z1 over Z. Here it is:

Battery life, broken screens and hot back of XZ

Hi all!
I want to buy XZ in a few days, but I heard some bad stuff about it.
1. Battery life is very poor as I heard
2. Screens can just break in a half without a reason
3. Does that hot back trouble a lot?
Anyone can share his/her thoughts? I will really apreciate that.
Hi
these issues sound like pre release or first batch issues like most phones at release these are common issues . the phone's battery life is more then acceptable for 1 and half days use for lite to moderate use , with a suitable cover the phone is more then sturdy . the phone will only get hot after a long internet session or after playing graphic intensive games otherwise its mostly ship shape throughout the day . the xperia z wont disappoint the build quality is stil better then the samsung galaxy s4 which is a plastic phone .
have you considered the xperia z1 it has a newer xperia launcher and camera app software wise ?

Heck, I'm much in a position just like you a few days back, grab mine already, it is a good phone, well that depending on what you previously had
Nevertheless, I have been with Sony phone all these days and 3 of my previous phone easily reach 2 years after a really rough usage, And I'm sure this one will last just like others. And, FYI, my X10 and Arc still rocking, just not as fast as this new one.

Bro before i had a Xperia Neo too.
It's a good upgrade, especially the waterproofness is nice.
Also, the screen is miles better than the Xperia Neo screen and not as bad as most peeps say.
The phone gets hot true but only uf you do intense gaming, and it's not a big problem for me.
Also the sound quality is awesome and you get a good headset with your Z.

great to see that opinion, it's very helpful I also thought about Xperia T, because my girlfriend has it, and I think I will choose between those two
Battery life lasts long enough to use during the day, before recharging when you get home. I have a thin bumper cover on mine and dropped it on a few occasions and no problems or damage. I even accidentally dropped it in the toilet, and was thankful for the water resistance My Z has become quite hot when flashing ROMs etc. but no back plate lifting so far. It's a great device IMO:thumbup:

even if I don't let me phone's battery die , after a day of use , i get like 40-50% left , and at night i plug it . About build quality , i had s4 , s2 , note 2 , htc , but believe this phone is far more superior at build quality , even so I doesn''t surpass the HTC One(even if i hear it is kind of fragile). About broken screens , don't know , I own a XZ for 3 months now but haven't droped it once.

Coming from a HTC one (Stolen ) Only thing I miss is the more petite frame, speakers, and the ease of unlocking bootloader , camera is better (even front camera), battery life is better , waterproof, sexier than the htc (speakers made it ugly ) expandable storage, the screen sometimes I like sometimes I miss the HTC's blacks, colours seem more realistic tho with the xperia. Was going to get the Z1 but for £180 I couldnt say no to the Z.
That said I used it for a week before buying my own one (cousins ) and I fell in love with it, if I had known I would have got this from the start
Still havent unlocked bootloader keep getting weird error :\ and not sure I want too with because you loose bravia engine :|, I think there may be a clash with my fastboot drivers from the HTC? Anyway, get the Xperia you wont regret it
I will go for my XZ next weekend I think, I will post when I'll buy thanks for every opinion guyz!

N5 is not so good exept the pure super speed and 32k quadrant benchmark,
Display and etc.. are mostly equal or not as good as our Z.
And it's more expensive than Z.

Z1 or Z2 ?

Good morning everybody,
So here's the situation, I actually have an LG G2, Awesome phone, and I want to return to the Xperia family, I don't have any problem with my G2 like software or hardware, but it is cursed, I bought it like, last august, on month later, it broke, I repaired it and one month later the same problem the screen broke, so i'm a bit of maniac right now lol, and now i'm facing a dilemma, knowing that i'll buy the next xperia flagship, Am I going to buy the Z1 ? or the Z2? please help me a little bit, I prefer the Z1 but, like the Z2 has a better camera and cpu, so is it worth to buy the Z2 ? or will I stick to the Z1 ?
Thanks everybody have a nice day

As far as I know, the Z1 and the Z2 (even the Z3) have almost the same, if not the same, 20.7 Mpx sensor. The difference is the available features that Sony has allowed to be available for each phone. The CPU is only a minor bump if you look at it, and won't really make THAT big of a difference. But if you want something that could potentially be more "future proof" then go Z2. Besides, the Z2 has a MUCH better display, and the stereo speakers are better than the bottom speaker of the Z1.
P.S. I have an Xperia Z1. Goodluck on choosing bro! Maybe look at reviews and comparisons of the phones on Youtube.
I just got a Z1 and I love it! Install lollipop on it if you don't mind installing custom ROM's and it will become a beast

Worth upgrading from Z3?

Hello guys, long time Z series user. I was wondering whether it is worth an upgrade from z3? Did you guys notice any noticeable difference with this one?
Cheers
I upgraded from z3 compact. My only issue is no development support like z3 has. Other then that. It's great
I upgraded due to a insurance issue. For me the Z3+ is all that the Z3 isn´t. Still water resistant but no stupid covers over the ports. Over all... the small things that bugged me with the Z3 has been corrected. I seem to have been lucky to get one that does not have any overheating issues.
Downsides? Well... developers has forgotten about it. For me it´s not an issue... perhaps after the Marshmallow Update it will get back in the game.
There are no overheating issues in normal use. But these rumors still killed the phone. No developers and I guess no Sony interest due to the small number of customers. It's good hardware but I would not buy it right now. I do not think there will be updates after 6.0
Gesendet von meinem E6553 mit Tapatalk
Thanks for your valid input guys
From the Z3? Probably not. I upgraded from the original Z and the improvement is obviously huge, but there isn't _that_ much difference between the 3+ and the 3. Of course, whether the small improvements are worth it is up to you. In itself it's a great piece of hardware.
If you like custom Roms and warranty... NO '.' I like the USB port but who cares at the end of the day.

Went ahead with the upgrade, i feel the device is quite warmth sometimes and battery life is not that great.
I feel display is much better than the z3.
