[Q] Where exactly is the Qi coil? - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can anyone please advise exactly whereabouts on the body is the Qi charging coil?
And for that matter, would anyone happen to know the answer to the same question with the Nokia DT-900 charger?
Many thanks.

Search ifixit for your other device as well.

Perfect, many thanks indeed.
For anyone else interested: The centre of the coil is underneith the left side of the "u" of "Nexus".
And the DT-900 has three coils; one slap-bang in the middle, the other two evenly spaced left and right of it.

Inductive charging back cover

Anyone know of a place to purchase an inductive wireless charging battery cover door for the Bionic?
My charging port is starting to go out, and I love the Bionic and want to continue it's run (especially being the holder of a lapdock and other accessories I use with it).
Happy to buy used as well but can't find one anywhere.
Thanks!
Also looking for one here for a gift. If anyone would have any tips, it would be vastly appreciated!
Thanks!

calling all Qi users

Hi all, today I have encountered an S-Pen issue with my modded Palm touchstone wireless charger with my Note 2. The issue seems to come when the palm unit is placed a little bit higher on the phone near the NFC antenna, but problem resolves when I move the charging unit away...
Looking at the Qi receiver chargers from the web, the coil seems to be on the top of the unit, hence it is near the NFC antenna. Question is, has anyone experienced problem with S-Pen ? I would love to hear your view on this as I am thinking of getting the Qi to replace my modded Palm charger.
Thanks

Also it looks thick. Does it make a bulge on the back cover.
i'm using it without any problem.
If you're having any issues it's probably the electromagnetic radiation from the charging unit interfering with how the phone detects the s-pen, I doubt there's a way to fix it.

Sorry buddy. Don't think there'll be one. I looked at the back and there doesn't seem to be any contacts for the wireless cover to connect to. I might be wrong (might have a different method of charging), but don't hold your breath

yeah that's what i'm finding out... how half-assed is it of samsung to not include qi charging in a phone that is supposed to be water-resistant. you'd think they would have made the power door flap burlier and then included qi charging, knowing that hardly anyone would use the power door flap if they had the option for wireless charging.
I found a kit in ebay that has the receiver and a charging pad. I posted a problem about it in another thread, but now, I am finding that it works well with the charger that came with the receiver. It still allows the back to seal properly, and it charges though my TPE case. I don't know how well it would work through a thicker case. The charger is black and rectangular and slightly bigger than the phone. I bought two round chargers, but they don't work that well. The phone has to be positioned perfectly on the round ones. I'll try to post a link later for the kit I bought.

It would be nice if they had a Q&A and general thread for the Active.

Qi Charging adapter?

Do you guys think they'll make a Qi charging adapter? The contacts would connect to the pins on the underside of the witch and the charging coils could just be covered by a black sticker. It could be like the S4 inserts for Qi charging. Wouldn't add bulk either. What do you guys think?

I'm surprised a Chinese company hasn't done this yet. Qi receivers are easily thin enough and making a charging dock like a normal watch base with a Qi coil on top would be simple enough I think. There must be a reason this hasn't happened. I'd buy it for sure. I can't stand the stock charging cradle and I'm not spending $35 for a spare one either. That's highway robbery. I'd like to see this happen.
The hardware needs to support it, but I am willing to modify hardware given to tools and instructions.
I'd buy one for sure. I'm an avid QI user with a charger bedside, couchside, in home office, work office, and the QI car charger for my Note 3.
Please make this!

Mophie Charge Force - will it charge without Mophie?

So Mophie just announced magnetic wireless charging stations for their battery packs, like these:
http://www.mophie.com/shop/docks/charge-force-desk-mount
http://www.mophie.com/shop/wireless/charge-force-vent-mount
http://www.mophie.com/shop/docks/charge-force-charging-base
Seems cool and all, but my question is - will it charge my S7 without the Mophie case? From what I can tell it uses Qi, so in theory should work.
But i haven't found anything specific on it. Would love to hear peoples thoughts.
Been waiting for a good quality magnetic car vent wireless charger (that I don't have to make myself).
Great questions would love to get the car mount one if it works without the case.
should work without the case no problem

Do you know for sure the stand to the case is Qi?
I know the case to the phone is Qi. I just haven't confirmed stand to case. If that IS Qi then yes, no problem charging the phone.
Thanks
I shot them a support email to see if I can get a response I will let everyone know what I find out.
