Hello ,
Here is the Best way to enable the A-Z Sort on HomeTouchWiz
I tried
Add <CscFeature_Launcher_EnableViewByAlphabetAsDefau lt >true</CscFeature_Launcher_EnableViewByAlphabetAsDefault> in others.html
but i wasn't able to create Folder Unless if i change the true to false beside its not the official way for S6 Launcher..
So
Download the 2 files from the zip ( its a MiX from VZW and RWC )
extract the folder CSC.zip and move costumer.xml and others.xml to the /system/csc/( copy it here ) and set the permission 644 and reboot.
download:
CSC.zip
Click to collapse
Download the CSC Feature app from the store and go to the Launcher section and find the right feature and put it to true. Worked for me.

Hi Devs,
I was wondering if there is a way to modify the photowall live wallpaper and add your own pictures, I tried to look for a guide & modified app, however no luck.

Steps To Modify SGS3 Photowall Live Wallpaper
Hi All,
I had tried multiple roms and when used the Photowall Live Wallpaper, I could not point it to the photo gallery to use my own pics. The gallery would never open and I had to do with the default pics which came with the SGS3. (Not sure if anyone has faced this issue).
After playing around with the apk files I did find a way to use my own pics in the PhotoWall Live Wallpaper. I hope you would like this.
A: Uploading your pictures in the Photowall.apk file.
1. Select a maximum of 8 pictures that you wish to use in the Photowall and move them to a folder on your desktop.
2. Rename the 8 pictures as follows: g1p1.jpg / g1p2.jpg / g1p3.jpg / g1p4.jpg / g1p5.jpg / g1p6.jpg / g2p1.jpg / g2p2.jpg
3. Extract the Photowall.apk from ICS ROM onto a folder on your desktop. (I used RemICS v1.3, haven’t tried this is on any other ROM).
4. Open the apk file using winrar. (Do not extract, just open)…. Navigate to the PhotoWall.apk\res\raw folder.
5. You should be able to see the files as shown in the screenshot 1.jpg
6. Click on “Add” and navigate to the folder where you have stored the pictures (remember to rename them as mentioned in step 2).
7. Select the files and click “OK”. This will replace the original files in the Photowall.apk.
8. Once this is done, exit/close the apk file opened in winrar.
You can try installing this file directly by copying it to your phone, however that didn’t work on my phone.
B: Uploading your customized Photowall.apk file in your ROM. (Tested on RemICS v1.3).
1.Open the Rom that you wish to flash (I used RemICS UX v1.3) using winrar (do not extract)
2.Navigate to \data\app folder.
3.Click on “Add” and navigate to the folder where you have saved your customized Photowall.apk. (Make sure that the name is “Photowall.apk”).
4.This will replace the original Photowall.apk with your customized file.
5.Exit and save the zip file.
6.Use the new edited Rom and copy it to the root of your “Internal SD” card.
7.Reboot the phone to “Recovery” and flash the new Rom. (I did not lose my data & settings as I did not wipe cache partition or Data/Factory, however this may or may not work for you. To be on a safer side please backup your data and applications. I will not be responsible for any data loss or bricked devices while trying this procedure. Try at your own risk.).
You can watch the video on the link below (sorry for the poor quality)

Special thanks toTeam RemICS for the beautiful Rom.
If you liked my work, please use the thanks meter.

I think you over complicated the install process by a bit...
Why not just use a file explorer with root permissions and place the new Photowall.apk back to /system/app where it actually belongs, reboot the phone and be done with it? (/system/app is where live wallpapers that come with the phone are located by default, not /data/app)
As you can see here on my GS3, two of the several live wallpapers (phase beam and photo wall) are in /system/app
And these are the proper permissions for the apk
I tried that, but that wont work..... that the reason i mentioned
" You can try installing this file directly by copying it to your phone, however that didn’t work on my phone. "
Unfortunately wht u menitioned didnt work for me...
correct me if I am wrong... did u mention SG3... for SG3, you dont need to modify the photowall.apk, if you go to the wallpaper settings you can select pics from your gallery..

Yes, I understand that on the SG3 you don't need to do this, but on a Captivate, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to place it in /system/app and still have it work.

converting icons to miui

is it possible to change/mod icon sets to work with miui? how do i get icon packs in the psd, png, jpg format into an mtz to work with miui, i was specifically looking at the pace icon set and dope icons by filipovsky.
it's easy, download a miui icons themes or a miui theme .mtz, change .mtz in .zip. Open it with winzip or 7zip. Inside u may have a icons file, unzip it and add .zip in the end. Then open it with winzip or 7zip.
now u have the icons of the theme.
If U want to replace some or all , be care to keep the name of the icon u replace, because it's the name of the Application in miui.
thank you for your reply i will give that a try.

You have to zip it properly. open the icon folder and select all icons, then right click and go to 7zip add to archive. take resulting zip and rename to icon and put it in the theme folder . select all files in the theme and right click and 7zip add to archive again. rename to .mtz and apply

You need rename each image to right package name, or it will not work with miui, when you done , put all theme in one folder, zip all files ( not folder ), and change archive name to "icons" with out extension , then add "description.xml" and maybe some preview image, and zip both these thing to one zip file and rename to "YOUR_NAME.mtz" and it should work .
Sorry my bad english :fingers-crossed:

"You need rename each image to right package name, or it will not work with miui," i think this is where im going wrong but i dont quite understand what im supposed to be renaming them to? i've been trying to convert these....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27402389&postcount=16
so some of the names are cup.png , microphone.png, what would i rename those too before i zip them all up?
thanks.
Well the easiest way would be to take an existing icon folder from a theme with many icons and copy the icon names to the corresponding icons in your folder.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I went ahead and converted those for some practice. I removed the ones I didn't know what to do with, like the cup and star, for example. all are working except the $ which I wanted to be Wallet, but I haven't figured out the name yet.

Just transfer them in to your device Download folder and then enable unknown sources in security settings and then use the file explorer to navigate to the Download folder and tap the apk to install it.. It really doesn't matter where you put it as long as you go into settings and then Lock screen and security and enable unknown sources it'll work fine.

What kind of wallpapers are you using that are APK files? I usually just use Jpeg or PNG files and I created a new folder within the photos folder on the phone and it finds them. are you trying to change entire themes? if so you probably need to root it as often the phone will not open APKs without root.
Like I said to keep it simple I would just search to find JPegs of the wallpapers you want. Just my humble opinion

You must have rooted phone to do it.
If you have root then download root explorer from playstore.
Open root explorer go to system/media here you have to delete 3 files (bootsamsung.qmg,bootsamsungloop.qmg,shutdown.qmg)
Then you have to download and extract zip file from link below.
copy this 3 files in to same folder and set permissions to ( rwrr ) and reboot.

how to get back themes when you ROOT

I rooted. My M10 now all themes is gone, anyone figure how to get it back? Ty
I think you need to go into settings, apps, find Theme app and clear cache & data
We need a hw_init folder from stock phone and place it back on rooted phone.
I have the ALP-L09 version mate only with the bootloader unlocked. If that way you are worth, tell me where I find that folder and how I extract it and upload it here

I use "Total commander" from playstore. Navigate to root/system then create a new folder (Press the three dot on the top right) and name it "themes". You need to change the folder permission to 755. Press and hold the folder until a dialogue appears and choose properties. Then press on RWX. You can then change the permission. You can then copy the hwt files to this folder and change the files permission to 644. You can download themes from (for mate 10 pro but works fine on regular mate 10):

Please check and make sure that folder permission is 755, hwt files permission is 644. The "themes" folder must be in the root/system folder. If this is the case and it does not work I do not have the answer.

You have another option: create the following folders in the root/data folder:
hw_init/version/region_comm/oversea/themes
You need to have five folders in this order unless you already have some of these folders. You then put the hwt files in the "themes" folder. Make sure all the folder have 755 permission and the hwt files have 644 permission. Good luck!
