Anyone know LG G4 work with Slim-port or not? - G4 Accessories

Anyone know LG G4 work with Slim-port or not? If yes, please recommend me one.

G4 has SlimPort and what to recoomend, just buy one, all are the same, difference is mostly in price. I use this one: http://www.amazon.com/SlimPort-Adap...pebp=1436334515141&perid=1Q0NCY7D1X10N2TN6MZE
But I also have some others and they all are the same, I think they get produced by one company in China and relabeled by the rest.

I have the Kanex one and it works a treat.

optimus 2x accessories

will accessories from the optimus 2x like cases fit the g2x? i'm assuming yes as i've heard nothing about tmo physically altering the phone. just wanting to get a head start on accessories before i order next friday. no sites have tmo branded stuff yet. thanks.
According to GSMarena the dimensions are slightly different:
LG 2X
123.9 x 63.2 x 10.9 mm
T-Mobile G2X
124.5 x 63.5 x 10.2 mm
I don't know if this is enough to mess up accessories or not, but now you know.
PS This should probably be posted in the accessories section.
thanks for that important info.

Should I buy a G2 or G3??

So I'm looking to buy a new phone and after researching am not sure which to get. I'm leaning towards the g2 cause it'll be way cheaper. I don't need a 4k screen, the camera seems pretty close and I like the smaller footprint. I'd like an SD slot but 32gb should be enough.
I'm hoping a lollipop ROM will be out soon but closed is good enough for me.
Just wanted to see what you all thought and if anyone decided to keep their g2 vs upgrading.

You can get a brand new lg g2 for 200$ (vs980 32 GB) and the cheapest g3 will probably be around 400. You pretty much said it yourself. The g2 is half the price and still very capable. Of course if price wasn't an issue at all I'd go for the g3 but considering the g2 can be bought for half the price unlocked now makes the decision easy if it were me. Now if your gonna get it on contract it's a different story since looking at deals both can be gotten for free on contract but I always buy unlocked and use prepaid

Tough choice. Honestly the G2 is a super awesome phone. We also have a pretty solid G3 Rom port so they basically have the same features.
The VS980 from Verizon has build in Qi Wireless Charging... where the G3 does not. My CoWorker has a G3 and aside from the (physically) bigger screen... I can't tell a difference.
For me the G3 is also to big. I could probably juggle it but the G2 just feels perfect in my hand.
So IMO, the G2 with Cloudy G3 rom = Perfection
I ended up going with a G2. Found a pretty new one on eBay for 180!! I also considered the new moto x cause they're the same size but the screen, battery and camera are worse than the g2. And its not able to be rooted.
Nice!
I use Cloudy G3 Rom v2 (not 2.1) and it is flawless. It needs some tweaking for Verizon usage out of the box but just cosmetic stuff. G3 Tweakbox + Xposed.
Cool. I'll def be rooting. I was looking at it seems some lollipop Roms are starting to drop.
I'll have to re educate myself cause it looks like you have to have specific radios for different Roms etc??

Move to G4 or stay with G3

I'm on the fence to replace G3 with a G4, so was hopi g to get some input from those that are rollin with a G4.
Now that root is done, @micromod has dropped a rom looks like a time to decide G4 or G3?
Any constructive thoughts are appreciated.

do it, screen and camera are better, feels more solid, my g3 creaked after the 1st month. plus tmo dropped the price recently too.
With the price drop right now is a really good deal. Only $480 vs the original of $600.

this is my first LG phone, my friend tells me that the upgrade from G3 to G4 isn't worth the change. The battery life on this phone goes way to fast considering the large battery. I mean i use my phone on the train to work and i lose 30% of my battery in my 15 min ride, from what i read, they say its because of the processor, if had a choice, i would had just stood with my M8, but it cracked in time for my upgrade. The only thing keeping me from selling this phone is the promotion for a spare battery.
I'm not here to make the phone look bad, to be honest, its a beautiful device. Ill most likely wait for CyanogenMod, but I'm not about to harass the forums about release dates.
I have migrated from G3 to G4 because I want B12 which is rolling out in NYC.
In fact, the difference between G3 with 5.x and G4 isn't that much, but you may have better music and video experience with G4 because the speaker is better and louder.
Tempered glass plate for G3 will fit G4 with some space on both top and bottom, but the cutouts are exactly same.
Quadrant is similar on both, but Antutu gets better result on G4 thanks to 64bit architecture.
In short, if your area will have or is having B12 service, G4 is your better option, but if not, the difference is not much.
With the price drop, I did it last week. I did notice the speaker is much better and the camera is quicker. I haven't had it long enough to be able to say about the battery. My thing was that my G3 had cracks around the mic and IR blaster and they bugged me.

600 wasn't realistic for a cheap plastic body that has an old version ram and retarded processor. 400 is the real value of this phone.

Speaking of battery, G4 is similar with G3 according to my usage scheme. However, it may take couple of days to make it settle down.
BTW, you can transfer most of the things (apps, personal data, text and MMS, and most of the apps with data) from G3 to G4 using LG Backup Tool, but you may reboot couple of times to successfully restore.
coming from a G3 I think it's worth the upgrade. There's no oversharpened screen and it's much faster. People figured it would be slow just because they didn't go for a 810 but real world usage suggests otherwise. Performs better than my S6 at least and has longer battery life. I don't get the lag that I had with the G3. Camera is better and the build is certainly better than the G3, especially the frame.
I owned the lg g3 and g4. Battery life on them are about the same.
Some quick mods that are available on some xda forums fixes the touch problems that some may experience..
With the extra battery I can go two days without being worried about charging the phone.
I love the camera. Best one thus far.
The screen looks flawless too! And I got it for 480 which is even better!
It rocks. Do it, only if you love your g3 and want those little extra perks like camera, faster processor, better screen, and better speaker.

I jump from G3 and i must say its worth it. Only regret is i was one of first buyers and paid 600 ! But they gave extra battery charger and 2 sd card for free. So its even i guess !
I just had a chance to use the Camera outdoors yesterday when we were ATV riding. The pictures and video's are amazing.
If I could go back in time, I wouldn't buy the G4 coming from the G3.

There just isn't that much or enough of a difference between the two devices to really make it worth a full priced upgrade. They feel the same in your hand, except for the material if you're opting for leather and also, in my opinion, better designed volume and power buttons.
If you're strictly running your phone on the stock UI, though, it might be an improvement since the G4 does run smoother overall than the G3 does when it's completely stock. However, in my experience, a completely stock G4 will occasionally have a fit of lag so bad that it makes the phone unusable for more than a few minutes unless you pull the battery. I've never had problems like that with my G3. Ever since rooting, though, and removing bloat, I don't have any lag whatsoever.
Another benefit of the G3, unless you absolutely prefer LG's UI, is the number of ROMs available. A G3 running an AOSP or CM based ROM still performs better than a G4 on a good day.
The G4 is an amazing phone still. I just think, given the opportunity, I'd save my money and keep my G3 as my daily. I wouldn't miss out on anything. I feel like I'd get more of a fresh experience had o waited for the Moto X. And I would have saved money.

I sold my G3, bought a Nexus 6 with that money, and traded it for a G4.. So for the price of a G3 I got a G4.
G3 wasn't enough phone for me, Nexus 6 was/is awesome. I bricked my G4 F500L, traded my Sony Xperia Z3v + $140 for another Nexus 6, Love it. But I missed the G4, so I bought another, this time a H811, for less than I sold my G3 for originally.
Actually, as I mentioned, it makes more sense for T-Mobile customers, especially in B12 active area or where is deploying, than other carriers to upgrade from G3 to G4.
B12 LTE is supposed to help reception.

I've had my G3 listed on Craigslist and Swappa for $350 for a few weeks now and the only hits I've gotten were 2 scammers in different countries on Craigslist trying to scam me out of my phone and money like scammers do and some guy on Swappa offering a me less than half of the asking price.

Looking to upgrade device - suggestions please.

I am a happy G2 and G3 owner. Looking to upgrade to a G4, but actually what I want is a device that:
1. Runs on the Sprint network
2. OTA upgraded to Marshmallow
3. At least a 5.5 inch screen.
Other than the G4 and the Stylo2, do you have any recommendations?
Thanks for any input.
LG V 20 seems to be solid without bootloop issues. That is it you're looking for an LG device.
G4 prices are great. So far, the G4 is the first phone where I wasn't eager to get the next phone upgrade. However, I was concerned about the lack of root for the Sprint version. But, in another thread on this site, the word is someone figured out how to finally unlock it, which should enable root again. They are working on instructions.
Anyway, just wanted to highlight the nice combination of very low price at the moment, with great camera and screen and customizable leather backs, for the LG G4.
Well if I were to take rooting into account I would recommend buying a European G4, V10, V20, etc. But that's assuming that's what OP wants to take into account.

What's the status of the V40 in comparison to the V30?

Hello all,
I'm just wondering if the V40 is as stable custom as the V30 is. I currently have a V30 that is great and on Android 10, but a coworker has this crappy iPhone 6 and I was just going to sell him my V30 for like $50. I was wondering if the V40 customization options (custom roms and whatnot) are worth paying for an upgrade. It looks like there's not a ton of progress on the V50, otherwise I'd consider that.
The V30 has been phenomenal, thus my reticence to switch phones.
Does V40 have as many options? Are there common bugs?
V40 is NOT a good candidate if you plan to explore custom ROMs. Get an HTC U12+ instead.

No 3.5mm jack. That'll be a no from me, bub. I'm surprised it has a microsd slot, though.
What is the status, though? I see a Lineage build in the development section. Is it just kicking off, or is there not a lot of interest?

Currently we have LOS 17, Havoc OS 3.5, PE 10, Dot OS, and that one other new ROM...plus we can also use the stock vendor for most GSI's available here on XDA

I ended up snagging a G8 on eBay for $180. It looks like development is heating up in that forum, so I'll be jumping ship as soon as it does.
If it doesn't, I guess I'll pawn it back off on eBay.

I ended up getting a G8 lol. I somehow snagged one for $180.
NIce, does it have same Quad DAC as V40? Same Dolby effects like DTS:X 3D Surround and Side by Side mode?

I got a second one for $150 that "cannot connect to wifi". I'm assuming it's an OS issue and I'm going to try to fix it when the G8 is fully rootable. It looks like the V50 is very close to a permanent root solution, and the V50 is very similar to the G8. Overall you can snag G8's on eBay for very cheap, considering it released a year ago
