Root - Xperia Z4/Z3+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know if anyone is working on root for this phone? I'd really like to upgrade to this phone from my S3 but root is an absolute necessity.
Not complaining at all of course. Just wondering.

Rooting the S5 Mini from AT&T - G800A

Hello,
I made the mistake of buying a Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini from AT&T (G800AUCU1AOD5). I understand it is harder to root the ATT device, but I was wondering whether it would be possible at all. I would be happy to contribute to the effort because I have a brick in my hands...
Thanks,
fabrizio
I would love to know how to root it to. I hope someone would help us.
My fiance has one too and it's dog slow. What sucks is I'm SURE it's because of the crappy stock ROM. Something like Bliss Pop or Cyanogenmod would really make this a killer phone.
I really would like to at least Root this phone so I can freeze some Apps.
Searched for ROMs everywhere with no luck.
For that you do not need root. Check this app: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2998294

Best Marshmallow upgrade route

Hi,
So I keep reading all the 6.0 threads and have yet to come up with an answer. I am thinking of moving to Marshmallow. I have a few things I would like to keep and would like help understanding if it is possible at this point.
Upgrade to 6.0
Get adblocking of some type(either though app or modify hosts in recovery)
Verizon tethering check
Android Pay
I know I can use an app for tether, so that is 1 of 3 taken care of. Can someone help me answer the other 2? Will I get boot errors saying my device has been tampered? There has been a whirlwind of activity, maybe I'm just getting a little anxious and the answers will come in time.
Thanks
To get adblock working you need root, to get Android Pay working you cant be rooted as far as I know. Which one can you live without?

Is there a need to root the One Plus 3T?

Hi All,
I am looking to purchase this phone in the near future. Wanted to ask if anyone has really had a need to root this device? I feel like Oxygen OS does a good job at adding some cool features and keeping the stock Android experience.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
It depends on what you wish to gain from rooting. I myself stopped rooting my phones over a year ago. It got old. Still have no desire/need to root my OP3T.

What is one main reason people root for? Also, I just found out that Verizon data won't work on the 3T. Bummer.

Ad blocking, backups (Titanium Backup), and battery saving (Greenify) are all pretty common. There's also other things that don't technically need root, but do need an unlocked bootloader (and once you have that, you may as well root), such as Xposed, removing bloat apps (not really a problem on this phone), and build.prop modifications (for unlimited tethering and some other things).

Bootloader?

I'm sorry I don't mean to spam but I haven't seen any answer just yet. Anybody have an update on if the bootloader has been accessed yet? I know root was but I don't see anything on the s8+. Did most of those whom try to achieve this go to the pixel 2? I just got this phone yesterday, I thought for some reason the pixel wasn't coming out for a few weeks....
With that said, do you guys think the pixel 2 would be better if I wanted to work on compiling my own android?
Nobody?
No one has been trying to my knowledge, root was just obtained. s7 still locked
Unfortunately, it does not seem like anyone is trying. This is a very niche situation: Galaxy>S8>Verizon.

Looking for T817V Assistance

Hey, fairly new to the mobile rooting scene. Had some issues with my Huawei a few years back, but now I wanna get into rooting again.
For starters, I have a SM-T817V, currently on Android 7.0. I understand that there may be airtight issues with rooting Verizon devices, but I was hoping someone had some sort of idea on how to get around it. Seems everyone else has W's, A's, P's, and even T's, but V's are probably the hardest to deal with right? Anyway, I'm not looking for any custom ROMs or anything, just want it rooted for adblocking and greater control. If anyone could help, I'd greatly appreciate it.
