[Review] Ballistic Urbanite case pics and availability. I like it! :) - G4 Accessories

Ballistic Urbanite
No affiliation with any merchant, here is my honest opinion. I am in it for just the "thanks" and good conversation.
I have this same model case for my Note 4 and I absolutely love it so I was excited to find an LG G4 version. It is NOT available on Amazon, the best place to get is direct from the manufacturer. It shipped quickly:
https://www.goballisticcase.com/shop/lg/lg-g4/urbanite/
SIZE: Feels surprising slim. The hour glass shape make it quite narrow in the middle.
GRIP: Glossy surface is comfy to hold but it feels very secure to hold because of the case's waist curve.
PROTECTION: The corner bumpers are very pronounced and in effect make a large lip to protect the phone. Advertised as "6 foot drop tested" and I am inclined to believe it
DURABILITY: This MIGHT get cosmetic cracks if removed and replaced frequently. (Based on my Note 4 version). On the other hand those cracks were on that phone's narrow bridge between the side volume buttons and the camera. The LG 4 does not have side volume button thus no narrow bridge. That area looks to be much stronger. I really don't think this one will suffer from the cracks but I'll let you know. Please comment if you run into them.
INSTALLATION: Easy to put on and remove from phone.
EASE OF USE: The buttons are covered. The jury is still out on this but is seems to reduce the wonderful tactile feel of the naked phone's controls. I'll let you know if we get used to it.
APPEARANCE:The slick gloss surface makes it a bonnie little case. It does say "BALLISTIC" in dark grey on the lower part of the side but I don't think it is that obnoxious. It actually adds a little more grip to that part so it works functionally.

Pffff when I have to protect a phone like this? I won't use a smartphone anymore....
All the looks of the phone is lost....

[MOD] DIY TPU Bumper case for the G2x/O2x with Extended Battery

I just posted this in the G2x forums, but I figured you guys might find it useful as well...
I just got a 2800MAH Anker Extended battery from ebay, and unfortunately, my TPU case didn't fit over the extended case back. FatalityBoyZahy suggested that I cut the back of the TPU case off to make it fit, and this is what I did.
What you need:
Generic TPU Case
Xacto Knife/Some sort of Cutting Implement
Patience
Optional:
File
Match/Lighter/Some sort of small controlled flame
What I did was cut the back of the case, a little at a time, until it fit over my phone with the extended battery in. I ended up taking most of the back off before it fit.
I'm not that great with an Xacto, so the cut was bumpy and jaggedy. I used a file to even it out as best I could. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I wanted a clean edge. So, I used matches to melt the cut edge, and when it dried it was a clean, almost factory finish.

Final thoughts...
I think that It came out pretty well. One thing that I do notice is that the sides dont hug the phone like they used to... I think that this is because the profile is slightly different now and I left a decent amount of material. You could probably fix this if you cut a bit more. Its no big deal and you can still press all the buttons. From a distance, this seems like a manufactured case. You can only tell that it's diy'ed when you look at it from close up. Also, I think that using the file wasn't necessary because if you hold the flame there long enough you should be able to melt it down to be even. But don't hold the flame at one place too long... I had my case catch fire once
Cases are cheap, give it a shot
how secure is the case imean it lowers the damage of a fall or it's just like look nice case ?

It fits pretty snugly on the phone, so it should be just as secure as using a tpu case (other than the exposed back of course). I haven't dropped it yet thankfully, but it fits on pretty tightly and wouldn't fall off or anything... I'm pretty pleased with how it came out!

Juppa case

This one seems to offer good protection, a hard shell inside a book style casing. No mention of a magnet.

Arrived early an looked very nice. Applied screen proector (always difficult on big Screens) one of the better protectors I have used, Fitted Nexus very well and all charging an buttons accesible. Turns device on an off as you open and close. Very happy with for £5 I paid"
Bit annoying that he only paid £5 for it when they're now £12 but even at that it's not a bad price.
It just seems like another of a million already available cases. All these dealextreme/ebay cases all look the same to me, and a case is a case, they're all plastic, and they will prevent scratching the screen, that's about it.
I've fallen for this one

Nillkin case
Not the cheapest, but it seems a good finish, tight and clean all around

Does this mean you already have that case? If so, what do you think of the pleather quality wise?

I posted the original link because I saw a case that took two properties of common cases that are not found together anywhere else, the book style cover enclosing the hard plastic shell. It's too bulky for my use but that doesn't mean it's not going to appeal to someone else, it deserved a link for that reason.

Best affordable handmade sleeve

I just wanted to recommend a product I just received today. Go check out her etsy store. You can get handmade sleeves for just about any device and if your device isn't there, just let her know what you want and she'll make it for you. This sleeve is made with a durable dark denim material on the outside and a stylish, soft colored interior fabric. Well-made and incredibly cheap. I got mine for just $16 + $5.50 shipping. She is based in Latvia so it takes a week or two to get to you but it is well worth the wait. For those of you who are going naked (no case on the Nexus), I highly recommend this seller's product. Even her packaging is well thought out and well designed.

Anyway, there's the link. And no, I am in no way affiliated with this seller.

How tight is it? Could I fit my N7 inside my Poetic case?

Those look really nice, actually. Though I usually don't go for just cloth cases.

No, but you could measure how much extra thickness and width it adds to your tab and send her a custom request. I don't think it costs any extra.. but don't quote me on that. My naked Nexus 7 slides easily, just perfectly, into the sleeve. With my thin incipio hardshell case it was a bit difficult to slide it, though possible. It also has to do with the slightly rubberized texture of the incipio case though.
And yeah, the case is just cloth with some soft fluffy batting inside for some padding. It is actually surprisingly durable, though from a 5 foot fall straight onto the corner of the tab, I'm not sure how much protection it will offer. Though, the corners are probably the best padded part. For throwing in a book bag it's pretty perfect.

Black Carbon Fiber Exoskin With Pictures

I bought the black carbon fiber exoshield skin for the Verizon LG G2. It cost a total of $17.79 shipped to me. The material is 3M carbon fiber, and the texture itself feels like good quality. Unfortunately it doesn't do anything to add grip to the phone, and I might even say that it actually feels a little more likely to slip out of my hand than the stock back. The skin itself is pretty easy to apply as the material allows multiple attempts to line it up perfectly and I feel like I have lined it up as perfectly as I possibly can. There is also a part that goes on the front which I chose not to put on. Unfortunately, it seems like there is just no way to line up and adhere the corners satisfactorily, it just seems impossible the edges stick up. Visually I am not really that picky, however every time I hold the phone, I can physically feel the corner edges of the skin against my hand, which bugs the crap out of me. Now I have heard that a blow dryer may help, so I will try to to get ahold of one to see if it helps, I will update if I see an improvement. As it is now at $18, I cannot recommend this skin unless you know that you wouldn't be bothered by this. I would however highly recommend the dizitronic case (which I also have) if you want some very good looking protection for your G2.
TL/DR I wouldn't recommend this skin because the back corners are extremely difficult, if not impossible to adhere and line up properly, the phone feels more slippery, it doesn't really offer much protection and its pretty expensive.
Note: the corners in Pictures 2 and 4, it looks like there's just no way to physically line them up, because the end material is rounded

I apologize for the quality, these pictures were taken from my retired Galaxy Nexus. I will update this if anything changes. Feel free to ask questions.

Roocase Exec Tough Review

First and foremost, this is the best case I have used for my Galaxy S6 Edge. I have had this case for a few days, and the only complaint sI have is the edges can sometimes be rough to the palm when holding the phone in portrait, and that the thickness of the case prevents the use of my wireless charger. The cutouts are all perfectly centered on the phone, and it has great lip protection around the screen. The mix of black and white accents looks stylish, and the metal buttons look and feel great. They don't stick out too far from the case, which is better at preventing accidental presses. There's really nothing else I can say about this case other than everyone should have this case.

Hi there Theaccomplice88! Thank you so much for your helpful feedback, it definitely helps us out in coming up with better designs for our future products as well as improve the designs that we currently have available, we appreciate it!
@NoFanboy,
To some, it may appear ugly. To some, it might just seem average. If anything, some may even say "Your last case was way hotter." But what matters are the insides. This case is tough. Exec tough to be exact. It marches onward into the world of peril and danger, knowing that no matter what, it's got you covered. It has your phones back. This case is reliable, and above all else, it has a great personality.
Roo-spectfully yours,
Bev
