Hi-Res logo. - Xperia Z4/Z3+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.
I have recently downloaded 2 new Hi-Res (.flac) albums and transferred them over to my Z4/Z3+.
However, these 2 are not showing the "HR" icon on the album covers unlike the rest of my HR albums.
Is there anyway I can make sure they are the correct criteria for Hi-Res as they have all been downloaded from the same place?
Thanks

If you right click on one of the files not showing in Windows... What does it say about bit depth and such?

music browser issue

Hi all,
I recieved my new touch diamond today (really impressive exept for the battery)
Anyway, I wanted to add an album to the existing ones. The thing is that now, I can't brows threw the albums (iphone way). I have to enter in the library and choose an album. If I scroll up and down, it changes the tracks and does not switch between the albums.
Any ideas to get the iphone like browser back?
Thanks
Mine is the same way. Only i had some songs on the internal storage, then i updated to 1.37. Now it shows those songs in the flip, like ipod, but others i add do not show up. I have to go into library to see them.
I have the same thing. Never figured it out! I think it may only function like that if All Songs are selected and Shuffle is on.
But even that only seems to work occasionally...
I have the same. The touch flow player is just complete disfunctional crap. Dont even bother trying to get it to work because it wont. Your either one of those people which get it working straight away or one that wont ever get it to work. Its useless. Use mediaplayer instead, atleast that works. Its better too as it actually has a volume slider which the touchflow player doesnt which is annoing because that way you have to change your volume all the time and change it back again which I think is way to much trouble.
I agree. I've given up on it and have forked out for Pocket Player 3.
Audiobooster also leaves me with no bass so I can't use that anymore.
It's a real shame HTC have messed thing up so badly as I really liked the old AudioManager player.
Luckily the Diamond battery doesn't last long enough for me to get that pissed off with its functionality!
there's a wide misconception that the phone flicks through like iphone cover flow. it doesn't. what it does is flick through your current album selection or playlist. when we got the phone it looked like cover flow because there were a selection of tracks in one initial list all with different art.

This is not a bug, so why fix it ?
This is just browsing thru your "Playing Now" in stead of browsing thru an album.
If you want functionality like an iPhone, by an iPhone

what no way i'll stick with this functionality. The thing i that they sold it as an album browser (just read all the pre tests) and it would be easyer if it was in fact an album browser, keeping you from having to entre the library each time.
I have to agree, it was definitely positioned as if it performed like cover flow. In no videos or presentations I've seen does it say "look you can see the cover art" - which is essentially all we're getting unless you play all (and then all your tracks are in alpha order and not album or artist order).
Essentially it works but it was a bit naughty of HTC to position it as something it clearly is not.
I can live with it - a bigger issue for me is that my fave photo album never sticks!
In the user guide P68, they say that you can brows threw albums or songs...
And they would be right, you click library first and.... browse through albums or songs. There is no mechanic in the touch-flow music in order to browse albums by flicking and then it showing you the list of songs for that album. I'm sure it's possible but it hasn't been coded in that way.

MUSIC - How do get all ALBUMS up?

When I use MUSIC, it lists every song on the TF GUI, whereas what I want it to do is show every album. i cant seem to get it to do so. Anyone?
it doesn't work like that. it only shows your current playing album or playlist. it's not the same as iphone
it was the first time i ran it
Is there no possibility to show the Albumd and then brows to them?

No it wasn't if you're talking about the installed music.
Each of those files was a distinct single track from an album each having different meta-data. They were attached to a single playlist and the phone is set up as such that on a hard reset that playlist loads up on default.

Sorry I meant to reply to you as well.
No unfortunately there isn't in touch-flow. How would it work? Each single press on a cover launches the actual play function it doesn't issue a drill-down command.

How music album works ?

Hi, and sorry for my english
I put some music albums on my HTC Diamond.
I don't understand how to scroll albums in touch flow.
If the actual album has 15 songs, I have to scroll 15 times to go to the next album !
Is it normal ?
Why they don't do something like :
Vertical scroll = Change album
Horizontal scoll = Change song
Thanks for your reply
because its HTC!
I know, it makes me sick to my stomach to see how slick the iPhone coverflo thing works when picking albums. Theres no reason at all why this cannot be pulled off with the Diamond.

True, could have been easier but you can still select a certain album when you press 'library' and go to albums there.
I'm glad it wasn't only me
It seems that once you have drilled down to track level, you can't go back 'up' to album view again in the main window - surely this was a mistake on behalf on HTC? left out a bit of code?
Double tap to change to next album
I found that if I double-tap (quickly) the up or down arrow it will change to the next album.
Some albums have a lot of songs and it doesn't always change to the next/previous album, but often it works.
My new problem is that sometimes when I open up the Music I don't see the other albums in the graphic windows - it only shows 1 album (square image) instead of the multiple album pics (titled image).
this is an item soooo much discussed..
I don't understand HTC doesn't do anything to make it work...
Do they follow this forum? anyone knows?

[Q] How to hide files in Galaxy S?

Hello everyone.
I was adding some files to the Galaxy S. Now I want some of them to be hidden so that they do not show in gallery or video player (incase of videos) for everyone and I can make them visible when I want them. Is it possible? If yes can someone please tell how to go about it or is there any app for it?
Regards
keep a blank file with the extension .nomedia in the folder that you want to exclude from media scanning..
You could also use "Vaulty Free" app that moves selected images and videos into a virtual vault which then requires a password to open and view. This also ensures that they do not show up in gallery and video player.
Hope this helps.
put the files you want to be hidden in a folder, and put a dot '.' before the name, like this:
.folder
this will hide it if you have, 'show hidden files' unchecked in options

I tried vaulty free. It looked to be a good app which would do the job but somehow when I locked videos through vaulty free they showed as "Images" in the vault! which wouldnt play. Also it took quite some time for 1 video too be transfered which was about 40 mb. So I guess it would take too much time if the quantity and size is large.

I had known about the nomedia trick but it displayed the files in the "my files" option. Adding a . before the name looks promising.
When done with nomedia file I guess it would solve the purpose. Would have to try this combination.
Thanks for the help folks.

The default action when you login to Vaulty is to display the stored images. Click Menu --> Videos to see and play the videos. Yes it does take a long time to transfer large videos.

Did that but it doesnt show anything when "videos" is selected and when images is selected files are show but they dont play!
Strange!! It works for me perfectly. I am assuming that you are able to play those videos outside vaulty using the stock video player.
How did you add the videos to vaulty?
The way I added is while the video was playing in the stock video player --> Menu --> Share Video --> Vaulty Free.
The only issue I have with Vaulty is I can play only one video at a time after which I will have to reenter the password.

Hmm yeah that is strange indeed. The videos work fine in the stock player but arent recognised in the vaulty free. It may work again if I reinstall the app but I will first try the other method as I would have large no. of files and adding them with Vaulty would take much time and as you just said it wont help if I have to enter the pass again and again after watching each video!

HTC One - Gallery other look

Hey guys I am wondering if I can change the look of my
gallery.
I don't want that there is always created a new album 23/06/2013, 24/06/2013, 25/06/2013.
Can't I have a simple album with all my photos in it, I shot and then for example a "downloads" album and so on?
greetings

If you click the top left when in Gallery you can change the view between Album, Events and location but only album View seems to do away with the dates, it simply shows your albums as opposed to putting the photos in stupid dates like it normally does ... Sadly the album view doesn't look as visually good IMO but I hated seeing dates with folders ... Hopefully this helps.

Lol, the default view looks way better but you should be able to have it without all the dates that's for sure.
