Z3+ Revision 6. Who have it ? - Xperia Z4/Z3+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone!
Simple question, who have the Xperia Z3+ rev.6 ? Please, run CPU-Z, you can get it from market, run the app, and tell me what is the cpu revision in your phone ? r1p1 or something else?
Thank you.

and what is the cpu revision mate?

R1P1

Here Rev.4 r0p2, bought last week in Norway.
Does it mean it's even older than r1p1?

But yours is Rev. 5 of a different build (1295 not 1293 as most of us).
Anyway, Dennis, what is the point of this thread? Do you expect any rev to rev improvements from the manufacturer?[emoji12]

Internet rumors that the phones with Rev.6 has the newer CPU revision, newer than r1p1, i guess, because r0p2 is the previous version. So, i`m trying to find out, is it true or not. While there is no evidence that the phones with the Rev.6 uses the newer revision of a CPU. Furthermore, i read somewhere that all 2015 devices announced with Snap 810 are already using newest 2.1 cpu revision. So while I do not have confirmation of one fact and there is no refutation of the second.

Rev 4, r1p1 here.
Bought a week or two ago, Norway. 384MHz-1.96GHz clock (I notice it is higher than some screendumps posted here)

Ok, this is odd... Yesterday I dumped my CPU-Z results, which showed r0p2. CPU-Z app had an update today and, voila, I'm on r1p1 too.
My processor has been revised last night lol.
Should we trust this app results anymore?
Sent from my Xperia Z3+ on Tapatalk

My box says rev4, r1p1. US E6533 black.

On my box is Rev4 and CPU-Z says - Revision r1p1. Bought mine July 23rd 2015 in Poland. Copper version.

Bought mine at 28.07.2015 on Amazon.de - Rev 4 on the box.

Hi,
Got mine from Sony on 31 of july, REV4 on the box, Revision: r1p1...
Copper phone...

I finally was able to reach a Sony Support guy and asked him about Z3+ Revision printed on the sticker as well as the Snapdragon 810 Revision. He told me that there is no difference between Rev 4 and Rev 6 and that all Z3+ use the same Snapdragon 810.
When I asked him what 810 Revision is used he directed me to the official Whitepaper http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/e6553/whitepaper_en_e6553_xperia_z3+.pdf
I really don't believe him. Not only he wasn't able to help me with my initial problem but it also makes no sense to have different Revisions of the Z3+ without any differences. If they're all the same, they all would have the same Revision. Stuff like in which factory and production line a handset is made has nothing to do with the Revision so that's a different information.
Additionally he directed me to the Whitepaper. Those who look closely at these docs know that the information in these Whitepapers are simply wrong. For example the documents state that the Z2 uses "Human Interface Device Profile, Host role v1.1" but that the Z3+ uses "Human Interface Device Profile, Host role v1.0". Or that Throw is not supported by the Z2 but by the Z3+. Or that Xperia Link is supported by the Z2 but not by the Z3+. And so on.
I guess I'll contact Qualcomm directly. At least they'll be able to tell me how to identify each Revision of their processor using software or by a look directly onto the chip.

Actually, CPU-Z shows both r1p1 and r0p2. Its more like a state of the CPU rather then the revision. The thing is, because CPU-Z is written poorly, it does not refresh the screen after state change. Rather you have to refresh manually, i.e. relaunch the app or put the app in horizontal mode.

D3 is getting freaking costly, if price is true.
Images of the P7s steel casing: http://tieba.baidu.com/p/2943333434
woow ascend P7 spotted and looking great.
http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_ascend_p7_pictured_in_the_wild-news-8186.php
Seems like to reduce the side bezels, they had to increase the top and bottom bezels. I just wish they had used the K3V3 rather than the Kirin 910 that would be close to outdated by the time it is released just like the case with P6.
From all the leaks it seems that P7 has incorporated many aspects of Xperia Z design, noticeably, the circular power button at the center of the sides, the back camera got a silver rim around it, the top and bottom bezels a bit larger like Xperia phones, and maybe an all glass front like Xperia phones.
More leaked pics of alleged p7.
http://tieba.baidu.com/p/2961383769
But clear problems in these images. The second image do show the bottom curve for the P7 which is like the P6 and hence a clear successor. The other two images showing P7 from the front and back, are a bit confusing because i dont see the bottom curve on it through those pics. Maybe its not viewable because the pics are unclear. Similar pics were leaked before and they were said to be the p7. But the biggest questionable aspect is the fourth pic showing the spec of the phone. Its tagged M300 and has a different spec from the P7.
More clear images here: http://weibo.com/3030737153/AE50eBaAL?ref=home
Another pic of the alleged P7, but again this pic the bottom curve is not there. I would say that this is probably a successor to P2,.
http://weibo.com/3030737153/AEgZokZS6?ref=home
And if its P7 then im finding the increased top and bottom bezel not very tasteful and looks odd shaped. or maybe there is a big increase in size compared to the P6, which is another matter that would prevent me from buying the P7.
Great
:laugh:Can wait for it
I dont get the point of this ... We are stuck with our p6 ... What good is it for us if p7 comes out ?

dont think there's a hell of a difference between the two anyway, the form factor is the same apparently. With that in mind (if that's the case) I hardly think it's worth the leap, unless the extra gig of RAM would merit spending 600 quid on a phone you already have.
Once a year is more than enough for a company to release a phone, all this 5 phones a year crap is ridiculous.

I don't know, the spec page says MSM8974AB which is 800. 801 is MSM8974AC
Also why would they go from 2.2 to 2.3 if it's a 801, since it can go up to 2.5?
Probably just a typo error. Even the website stated that Z2 is having 3000 mAh instead of 3200. People who were in MWC confirmed that the device is using 801.
Anyway, it probably doesnt make much difference since in the website itself it is stated that "xxxAB". The differences between "xxxAB" and "xxxAC" is really definitely not noticeable.
Been with sony with quite sometime, Sony tend to go with "safer" side, for eg: if the chip allows 2.5ghz, they would lower it for cooler and better battery life. Samsung on the other hand, tend to max out of it. lol.
Look at Xperia Z, default of snapdragon s4 pro is 1.7, but they choose to clock it at 1.5.
They are all s800 with different variants...

One of two things have happened here:
1. Qualcomm have told Sony that the AB chipset can be advertised as the S801 and Sony has gone ahead and done tha.
2. Sony have used the wrong chipset code and are actually using the AC version.
Either way, the AB and AC chipsets are closer to each other in terms of performance than the original S800 chipset so the Z2 will fly either way.

It appears the Z2 has the 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 while the S5 has the 2.5GHz variant of the SD801. The latter should give about 10% performance advantage, I dunno if there will be a difference between a 2.3GHz SD800 and 2.3GHz SD801. Matters not really, it's all about optimization, my Nexus 4 is snappier than the Z1 and Note3.

as far as i am concerned the only reason the 801 exists is that the 805 is not ready and all these new manufacturers wanted a "new" chip set in their phones so sd gave them an over clocked sd 800 with a new name. check put this anandtech article.

no clue, and look at the android robot, what is that sign below it?
You should never show your Imei online but it looks like a bad box but the firmware seems legit. But then again those Chinese are good!
Looks like a clone to me. The sticker under the battery and the Chinese letters in the recovery are dead giveaways.
It says on the box that its not real Note 4.
Note4 is SM-910
This is SM-9100 !
Judging by these pics and my good eyes and experience with chinese clones, thats a genuine Samsung Galaxy Note 4 N910F, but the package is a generic one. The phone seems to have some manufacture fault or its bad refurbished: reason of why it doesn't have S/N. a proper description of your problem would be nice for us since I can't understand what problems are you having now other than missing S/N or a chinese recovery. You even have signal and mobile data connection... i thought (by the title, before reading the article) that your phone had missing parts ("mutilated").

Why does it say it's 1800mAh battery? Isn't Note 4 supposed to have a 3220mAh one?

seems to be a legit note 4 variant from china that has 16 GB flash and probably dual sim
check this youtube video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ng-gxk8_Cbk
the android firmware info shows the european firmware on it. probably someone took the piss cheap note 4 china variant and flashed european firmware on it to sell it to you
The phone in the picture is a N910F as it shows on the sticker under battery, phone looks legit and the screen looks like AMOLED.
The phone in the picture is not dual-sim, but the box is for N9100 aka Note 4 Duos (dual-sim) which i think is the only NOTE 4 version with 16gb internal.
Run some benchmarking tests and posts the results here. If is legit, you can go ahead and download and flash the latest N910F ROM and flash it through odin. This should get rid of all the Chinese words in recovery.

Does the box say its 16gb??
It seems to be very legitimate for me.... try to find the new rom for the n910f and put it through odin
I have returned this device a long time ago, after I posted the pics... can't you all see the scratches on the bezel? It has clearly been "tampered" with... and the box does not correspond to the actual item inside. That is my point. I am not saying it is FAKE. I have given a review on the seller on amazon to beware of the particular seller, and amazon somehow deleted it. They are protecting the seller, not the buyers...
edit:
Yes the phone connects to H+, but not on LTE even when I'm outside...

Review on the 6gb variant! Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1

The performance is the same as the 4gb variant, very very slight bhenchmark performance margin difference.
So basically you are paying 2k extra only for more megapixel camera. Ram being only a cache storage to store apps temporary, it doesn't make a difference as 4gb is enough to run many apps multitasking lag free. I'm not a camera freak, I'm content with what camera the 4gb variant has to offer (waiting for a proper bug free Fota though).
Good that I didn't wait to buy the 6gb variant. I saved my money and time as well!
What u said is exactly right..
I also checked related threads about 6gb variant nothing's more except the front camera ....and better than Redmi Note 5 pro
Wait for few days for retail unit reviews. Ram does not make phone faster it just keeps more apps in memory.

Hey guys, I am planning to buy Zenfone Max Pro M1. But I am really confused between RN5 Pro and M1, solely because I find a lot of ROMS and customisation in the RN5P forums which looks really promising but at the same time, with a humoungous battery, dedicated SD card slot and 2 years of promised updates, this device seems like a treasure for its price. Could you guys or devs please help me with my decision as to which phone I should go with. I am a flashoholic, therefore i need a phone which is highly popular among devs and has many custom ROMS/Kernels.

Sounds like Redmi Note 5 Pro is for you, since base MIUI sucks and people usually just unlock bootloader and flash another ROM to it. I heard they did something in the recent update of MIUI so that you can't reroll back to the previous build, so flashing it the instant you got the phone is a good idea.

FM Radio enabled?

If I recall correctly, saw some press from the beginning of the year that Samsung phones released this year would have their FM Radio's enabled. Is it?
Yes, FM radio is enabled. I downloaded Next Radio and was able to listen to FM when I plugged in my headphones.

What about the OEM interface? Can we make it work like the S7/8/note8 did?
I don't live in America and want the even frequencies to display as well as RDS.
What is the OEM interface. If you'll explain it to me, then I can try it and tell you.
#EDIT: I see your screenshots, I checked in my "package disabler pro" and there is not a stock radio app that comes with phone.

I remember the previous models didn't have it with the American variants as well.
The note 8 had it with the Hong Kong DS variant preinstalled and was posted here in XDA. I grabbed the .apk from there and made it work with rooted S7/8 T-mo variant by pushing the apk to system.
Someone who bought the HK variant, not sure how they name it this year, can shed some light and confirm?
@mynamemetallica There must be a snapdragon variant for China and Hong Kong. This one should do. I think SM-N9600 or 9608 but I'm not sure.

That's unfortunate. I always double check before I buy. In my country only the Exynous architecture is available thus buying from local retailer is not an option for me. Luckily there is credit card and Ebay\Amazon to buy anything I want from. Just need to verify about this Hong Kong variant, hope someone who has it will show up and confirm. If not, I guess I should be going with U.S.A.
I have the T-Mobile variant and I have confirmed that yes FM is working.
Same as the note 8, snapdragons worked but exynos didn't.

The question is which variant that has FM working is also rootable?
I can confirm that the AT&T variant has an FM radio. I tried it with the Next Radio app. You need wired headphones plugged in to be the antenna.
Verizon version has FM radio enabled, too. Confirmed for the 512 gb model and 128 gb
My Note 9 in Brazil (SM-N9600) comes with a preinstalled/oficial from Samsung FM Radio app. Snapdragon variant =)
My US unlocked has the FM enabled but it didn't come with the stock Samsung app and I'm unable to install it directly. Anybody else have any luck?

I have the US unlocked SM-N960U1, manufactured in Korea. FM radio is enabled and works great. I use the NextRadio app. (I don't ordinarily want FM radio rather than streaming, but it's good to have as an emergency option.)

Check out the WETA custom ROM for N9600 thread. It has the supposedly working stock FM experience. The .apk file should be located at /system/priv-app/HybridRadi/HybridRadi.apk
Now only left to figure out how to lay it there on N960Unrooted.
Yes, it has recording function (to SD card / internal) and timer. No RDS.
