can some one with stock rom please upload the files on system that related to google speech / now?
on system/ tts (all of it)
and wherever the velvet.apk is located so all of that folder (I can't find it probably because I've messed up with the google now (I have deleted the system apk and converting it back from user to system with titanium doesn't do well..
and pretty much everything you think might be related to this.
I would highly appreciate any help!

Hello all,
I have been using MIUI on my SGS for months now and now planning to move to a new non-MIUI rom.
I would however love to port the Browser.apk (maybe the music app too) from my current installation to the new rom.
I know from experience it isn't just a simple case of copying the browser.apk to sdcard and install it later on (application is not installed error).
Can anybody advise how I would do this?

I haven't tried it, however a system app must be placed in system/app it can't be slapped just anywhere. You will need to paste it, change permissions, then install. And probably also need to reboot.
Can someone share the apk?
I attached the Browser.apk. First make a backup of your old Browser.apk (just rename it to "Browser.apk.bak"), then put the new Browser.apk inside the /system/app folder. Change permissions to 644 (rw-,r--,r-- in RootExplorer) and reboot. Please let me know if it worked... Thanks!

Edit: After five minutes of reflection, i decided that there's just a minimal chance that this .apk works on deodexed non-CM-based ROMs - on odexed systems there's of course no chance!

I've installed an custom Mail app which supposed to delete the exchange policies but it didn't work. The custom installation kit (via cwm/twrp) removed the original Mail.apk files and the replacement is not working. After reboot I've ended up with no Mail app installed.
Can someone guide me please how to restore my original Mail.apk please ?

Do I need only the original Mail.apk and Mail.odex files?
If I'm copying them in /system/app/ will be enough?
I've tried to restore it from cwm backup using nandroid manager.
It says it restore it successfully but after reboot it didn't install it.
There are no Mail files in systems/app
When I'm trying to launch the Mail app it says so is not installed.
Any idea why is not working?
Remove all existing mail accounts and delete admin rights (if any remaining), then try putting back the file attached in system/app folder. You will need to mount it with read/write access, using a root explorer (as ES explorer for example).
Be careful, if you're using another rom that ARHD 12 (which the attached file is extracted from) you will need to rename it "Mail+nonprime.apk"
Reboot, and check how things go...

is this modified apk based on the 2.24 framework or older?
Thanks guys but I don't have the ARHD, I have the stock 4.2.2 + root.
I've manged to restore it last night using Cwm, restoring the whole backup. Luckily I had a backup make sure you do a backup first while attempting to try custom things
I still don't understand why the restore only for the Mail app didn't work.
I did not have any mail account or Admin user.

Recently I rooted my phone and begun to tweak it. So I decided to integrate all updated system app to system partition . After that the camera wasnt working so I restored a nandroid backup. Everything was good until I tried to open the SMS app. It crashed imidiately. I wiped its data, cache and dalvik but it didn't work. Then using root explorer I navigated to priv - apps and see if was anything wrong with the permisions. Everything was ok so i decided to delete the odex File and reboot. But after the reboot the SMS app was missing although the APK was still there. I am on stock kitkat locked bootloader. Any help please?
Delete .odex files without deodex? You need to deodex first, also some apps need libs... You need to extract it from apk and copy to "system/lib"

hey guys while modding and deleting system apps it seems i accidently deleted the user dictionary provider. im still on 4.4.4 , can someone please upload the apk in so i can reinstall it ? "com.android.providers.userdictionary"

Open any rom that is 4.4.4 ( zip ) then proceed to take out that app from system/app
hey thanx i got mine from a 4.4 image now ( http://sourceforge.net/p/sreborn/code-0/53/tree/system/app/UserDictionaryProvider.apk ) , they are compatible it seems. but i didn´t find a working .ext4 unpacker to get to my original apks , the one i found doesn´t open the system.ext4 file in my flashable image. and 7zip also gives error non supported archive. im using D5803_23.0.1.A.5.77_Generic_DE-Root-XZDR2.8.1-SuperSU-signed.zip , downloaded here in the z3c forum.
after you answered i didn´t find this apk though ^^ . because i searched google for "com.android.providers.userdictionary" (which turns up only debloating articles on google ) and not the real name "UserDictionaryProvider.apk".

I currently have the Galaxy S6 running 7.0 on the May update (G920TUVU5FQE1)
I accidentally hit the delete button on my Root Explorer app instead of Cut, and deleted the folder containing my keyboard (SamsungIMEv5_SYSTEMUID)
Ive done some heavy modifications to the system which is why I dont want to reflash the firmware to fix this, so can someone please send me their folder from the "system/app" so I can use my phones keyboard again please
(the folder might have the .ODEX file as well, please just send the whole folder)
