### Cynogenmod vs Stock Rom? ### - Xperia Z4/Z3+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone. I've been using the stock firmware since i bought the phone but currently thinking to try cynogenmod.
What i want to ask is, does it worth to install CM as Sony's stock rom is pretty good both performance/battery consumption and UI wise, compared to many other phone like samsung which i never quite liked.
Will it improve the battery life which is sony has already done a good job on stock firmware and what other benefits will i get?
Thanks in advance.

no, seriously. send me the link.

What he is trying to say is that there is not yet any custom roms available for this phone, let alone any custom recovery, nor root.

Oh sorry now i see what you're trying to say. It seems i've opened the thread to the wrong section. My phone is z2.
I dont know though why cynogenmod team hasn't relased one for z3 and z3+.

Yes that will root your phone without losing be2 or DRM keys.
You don't need to unlock your bootloader

This is my understanding too. Bear in mind that as soon as official updates are released a developer here will make it available on xda. This means you often get updates before you would normally (because they are rolled out at different times depending on carrier and region).

Once you install CWM, you can deodex your stock firmware without any problem :good:
No need to flash another ROM to do that.

Odexed roms work faster than deodexed. If you don't plan to modify your rom don't deodex it. Though there are many mods for odexed roms too.

The update is only for c5302 Sp models.... If you update your c5303 modern with .284 you will lose 4g connectivity but not much else.

[Q] 4.4.2 Question

Hey guys its beeeen ages since i thought about updating my phone its been on stock 10.4.B.0.569 for quite a while i came across an article on IBTimes website offering a download on supposedly a leaked rom from the ever wonderful doomlord.... im apprehensive about flashing this as i cant see any where on here that states 4.2.2 has been officialy released for the C6603
Really what im asking is my phones is running slow and just really needs a wipe/clean install
should i stick with the FTF ihave just now? or can i get an updated FTF? i dunno what the latest release is..

If you want official stock rom just use pcc or sus...
And if you happen to be on unlocked bootloader just create your own ftf, just use Google for a few Howto's

569 and 101 really have no differences. But you can search for a 101 ftf which is a completely stock unmodified ROM.

101 has a different kernel which uses a different gyro sensor. Thus you can't say that they have no difference =P.

2.7.0 ----> 2.7.1
Edit:

Basebands here. The performance is not affected (I think), but the battery yes. In my case I use XANA2 instead ANC2 (newest one for I8190).

Got the 4.4.2 update!!!!! Help!!!

Hello!!!!!
I finally got the OTA update in my country so what do you think guys? I got some questions here:
1- I update my device or wait for the next version?
2- im now rooted with dual recovery. I know i will lose the dual recovery but if i checked the survival mode in superSU app do i keep the root after the update?
Now i running existenZ 6.6.0 based on stock Rom with stock kernel (maybe?) and locked bootloader!
3- do i brick my device if updated now if im running this rom?
Please answer fast bcz i cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!:silly:
Thanks
All the best!
The OTA will fail, because it checks that /system isn't modified before updating. That check will fail because you're using a custom rom.

As @kingvortex said the update will fail as the system has been modified.
you will have to manually flash the ftf
