Wifi Calling Stuck at Enabling - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6

Hi Guys,
The wifi calling feature on My T-mo Galaxy S6 is not working at all. Whenever I try to enable it, it gets stuck at enabling.
Toggling Wifi on/off or rebooting the phone has no effect.
Can anybody help?
BTW I am on G920TUVU2DOF8 build, rooted, TWRP recovery and UniKernel.
Thanks

I had a similar issue. I toggled on airplane mode then toggled WiFi calling off/on and it fixed my problem.

Thanks for the suggestion. Tried it but it did not work for me

Same issue. Hasn't worked for a while now. I'm 100% stock.

I have the same problem, unless I'm at home on my cellspot. Connecting to anything else is a no go. Still 5.0.2 rooted with ping pong for now. Sucks to have a major perk like WiFi calling not working for a flagship phone. Anyone have any clue how to fix this?

So is there nobody who uses wifi calling or wifi calling is working great for you guys?
I can't believe that there are not many complaints around this issue. The T-mo signal in my house sucks and I was kind of hoping that I can use the wifi calling feature instead.

Mine seems to work fine.

Try calling your phone from another source and see if that congratulations you have used wifi calling message pops up.

Possible fix
So I know this is a dead thread, but I found a possible fix if the airplane mode doesn't work. I shut the phone down, pulled the battery out and hit the power key a bunch of times. Doing this without the battery seems counter-intuitive, but it discharges capacitors when you do it on laptops, so I thought I'd try it on my phone. Put the battery back in, started the phone and wifi calling worked again.

This actually works for me. I just installed an App called TalkaTone(FREE but requires registration) and called my T-Mobile number and let it ring for a few times then hung up. Wifi calling finished enabling and started working.

Still no solution
I've been using note 3 for 4 years and currebtly it has phronesis rom 7.0.
Last week, after i charged with my powerbank, suddenly wifi stopped working, stucked at 'enabling wifi'. I rebooted a few million times, cleaned unnecessary apps including the last ones, hard reset, reinstalled rom, shook it, dropped it to the floor, threw it to the wall, but didnt help at all. And i thought it's a got broken as it's already 4 year old phone.
A few days later, when my charge was at 3%, the back of of the phone, right next to the camera heated too much, despite i was doing nothing, i got panicked and remowed the battery.
10 min later, placed it again, booted the phone, and tadaa, wifi was working, the back side was keeping cool, phone was smoother and charge level was %35 or so.
Then i thought, wifi issue was not a hardware thing but instead it was related to wrong battery stats. When the charge level was again 2% i removed tge battery again, waited fir a few min and placed again. It was again %25 percent,( didnt last long though,) but wifi again was not working.
Moving from that point, i fully charged the phone, calibrated battery, removed replaced etc... but didnt work.
I deleted the file data/misc/wifi, it didnt work.
Afaik blutooth and wifi use a common chip and if wifi is failing cos of a hardware issue, blutooth is not supposed to work as well. Yet, my blutooth works fine. Just wifi.
I dont know how to fix it.

Try it
I have no S6 , but you can try the Wifi Calling tool .

Wierd Issue with Wifi

Hi there, after searching i cant find any info about this so would like some help.
when i put my wifi on my nexus one, it works fine. for a while. then, after around a couple of minutes, no data is transferred. the wifi stays enabled, but no data is transferred at all. This has happened on miui, sense and stock, with 3 different routers, all working perfectly with my Dell Streak.
Has anyone else had this problem, or know of a solution?
Thanks

Yes me... its driving me nutsss.. only thing i can think is its the Rogers issued router im using.. and wifi fixer.. the widget helps it just quickly reassociates the wireless, it would be nice if the wifi would just do this everytime the screen turns on....

[Q] wifi keeps switching on and off

Hey all,
since a couple of days I have a problem with my wifi, it keeps switching on and off (I can see the checkbox activating and deactivating, every couple of seconds, at the moment it is unchecked and says "error")
as I said, the wifi worked before
I am running cyanogen 7 (http://android.doshaska.net/cm7) on Milestone
- But I have also tried MIUI, with the same problem
does issue sound familiar to anyone?
Maybe it is an app which force turns my wifi on/off, is there any way to check which one it is (as far as I know I don't have an of them, eg juice defender, tasker installed)
Many thanks
Have you tried other WiFi networks? Because the same error being reproduced across two different ROMs seems a little unlikely.
Well, the problem is that my wifi doesn't stay on long enough (just a couple of seconds) to scan/connect to any network.

So it isn't a problem connecting to a network, it's a problem of the wifi not even being able to turn on?
Well "technically" it does turn on, but it switches off immediately

wow, i just logged in to search for this issue myself. I have that same issue across multiple roms also. The one that did work was the Telus Lite Eclair. I liked that one, but of course I wanted to check out others. Each one was the same as you describe. Wifi scans, disconnects, scans, in a loop.
I have done searches on google for wifi disconnect loop android, and seen some stuff about kernals and stuff that is over my head at the moment. If some one has an idea on how to get it working that would be great.
I wipe before any install, I've went back to stock and it works, everytime I went to the Telus Lite one it also always worked. I dont know if theres a clue there or not?
Im on an Telus milestone in Canada, on Telus network if that makes a difference.
And since I think this is my first real post, Thanks for the work guys.
Not sure if this would work, but this is the first result that popped up: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/koush/75782-wifi-disconnect-loop-cm6-final.html
EDIT: People are saying that Hidden SSIDs and MAC filtering can cause problems when trying to connect to the WiFi network. Try forgetting the network, making the network visible(protected if you wish) and reboot the phone and try again.
ok, time for a stupid question...
where do I find suitable kernels?
I can't find anything about this (roms and kernel tweaking is a is pretty well documented though)

As far as I know, you won't be able to change the kernel on the Milestone at all, due to the locked bootloader.

a little update, I checked my settings on my router and there was nothing really out of place. For poops and giggles I installed Shawdowmod, and it works with out issue with my wifi. Go figure. Anyway, think im keeping it.
Thanks for the help.
hmmm, good to hear you figured it out.
I just went back to stock and guess what? still nothing
maybe I'll try that rom and see

bizare wifi behavior

well, my wifi is acting wierd... reception is good and it doesn't disconnect too often, theres just this little anoying thing!
everytime roughly 3-4 days after i flash a new rom my wifi simply refuses to connect to network, and not a specific one, any network at all!
and it stays like this for a couple of hours and then all of a sudden it picks up a a networks and it works fine for a while, untill i happens again...
i've tried restarting and taking out the battery and turning the wifi off for a while, nothing seems to help, he just decides on his own when he is whilling to connect again....
if i flash a brand new rom the problem disapear for a few days but then it comes back... i'm assuming it has to do with some sort of a cache that is filling up with loads of crap and ruining the wifi activity but i tried googling for this and found nothing..
ideas anyone? (btw this happens on all roms: stock, existenz, beanstalker etc...)
its a hardware problem and not so uncommon look here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2531711
if you can take it to a customer support and if you cant sell it and again if you cant, then just get along with no wifi/bluetooth/NFC check all of them you should have problem with them too

absolutly not related, my NFC and bluetooth works just fine, i don't need to press hard anywhere...
and my wifi works just fine after a fresh rom install... so it's defenetly a software problem...

to me that sounds like the start of it because mine was the same at the first few days flashing a new rom or something would help alot but then i just found out the only thing that was helping it to get fixed was the heat from the device not the rom, but it doesnt hurt to play around with it a little so go ahead and try some other roms or repairs.
you see good reception for wifi
you try to connect
at the authorizing or connecting you will see only one point of signal and connection would kinda like disappear.
this is how it was for me but at the first days it was random it was connected good and ready, when i would left the phone in stand by after a few minutes it would DC, so i thought its kind of a sleep mode malfunction or something but after a few days almost 1-2 weeks it turned out to be hardware problem like ohers so if you see any symptom like that start looking for service centers.
but i hope it would be a software problem for you, so good luck.
Well, once he connects he stays on for days, no problem there... Just sometikes he refuses to connect... Pressing the nfc button doesnt help...

What Wi-Fi channel is your network on and have you tried 5GHz?
Didn't look into those things, but it happens with all networks except ones without passwords
Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
Have you tried deleting wpa_supplicant.conf in data/misc/wifi and reconnecting to the network? (this will delete all saved passwords and settings for known wi-fi networks) also try to disable Auto IP in advanced wi-fi settings
Well the phone is qith my sister now, I got a new z1 so far wifi worka for her, it stoppes for a few hours yestarday but came back, I might try to flash. 310 and see if it works better with it. And the Wapa_sup sounds like a good idea. Btw z1 is also jittering some with wifi, it's a global Sony problem...

temp solution?
Well, it is probably a hardware problem. I have had the same problem, everything looks fine, but you can't connect to any network.
So, searched, reinstalled, etcétera, nothing worked. Untill I read a crazy solution link://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z-ZL-ZR/xperia-zr-wifi-association-rejected/td-p/516275/page/4
and found out that if you put pressure on the back of your pone right at the NFC chip, with a finger or so, the Wifi will come alive again.
Personally I had to hit my pone's back at that exact spot with my finger (for not damaging it with excesive force) a few times, but then suddenly it worked.
So, I am convinced it's a hardware problem. Hope it works for other people too.

WiFi stops working

I noticed that WiFi stops working on my new G4 pretty often. The WiFi icon is on, and the connection is "up", but the data transmission stops working. I see the top arrow blink (is that transmit?) but the bottom arrow doesn't come up anymore. Trying to do anything fails and times out.
To fix, turning the WiFi off and back on makes it all work again.
Anyone else experience this problem? I know @jonathan3579 reports the same issue.
I am connected to 5 Ghz using an Asus RT-N66 running Merlin firmware. I have no issues with any of my other devices.
Using the "Switch to mobile data" option helps a bit by falling back on LTE when the WiFi stops working.

Same here. Very annoying. Love the form factor of this phone
I have tried the option to switch to mobile data when WiFi unavailable, but still have issues. May just go back to my G2 running Cloudy 3 ROM .

I'm having the same issue at home. I could be watching a video and suddenly stops. I don't know if it has to do something with root. I noticed it starts happening yesterday. I never had this issue and I got this phone sine 5/27 when it was released. I'll do a factory reset.

Are you having this issue everywhere you go or just one specific place?
I had not noticed it at work, but I only got on the WiFi yesterday for a little bit. This morning it failed on me, so, that's two for two. Haven't used it in many places.
The hotspot works great though. I tether an iPod Touch in my car automatically whenever I drive and I haven't noticed any issues there.

I'm at work and I have been watching multiples videos and no issue at all.
I just noticed this today happening to me too. =(.
Pretty great phone otherwise! Also connected 5ghz to a RT-AC68U (the T-Mobile cellspot), flashed with an older Merlin firmware.
Had to reboot to get it to behave again.
Me too
I've been having this issue too. I've noticed that I lose data and WiFi calling simultaneously. I thought it was my router because we were having issues with the router dropping phones and laptop, but now with a new router it is only my phone that is having a problem.

Running DNSet has definitely helped with keeping the data flowing, and I appreciate that.
WiFi calling is still dropping. When I look in the settings it says "enabling" and just hangs.
What internet provider do you have I'm assuming Comcast

This issue appears to be due to the 5ghz radio. I am not sure if it is software or hardware, but if you connect to the 2.4ghz band, the issue will go away.
Its most likely a issue with lollipop

Lollipop on the G4 maybe, but I have used a Nexus 6, a Moto X and a Dell Venue 7840, all running Lollipop, without issues. The G4 is the only one that has this issue. I never tested my old G3 on this network with Lollipop, I sold it before the update rolled out.
Problem fixed?

I switched to 2.4 ghz and WiFi calling appears to be staying connected. My provider is Oceanic Time Warner and my router is T-Mobile cell spot.
Fingers crossed and thanks for all the help.
Did these wifi problems start after root?
Mine were happening before root, I think. I switched to T-Mobile cell spot router right before I rooted because my old router was regularly dropping connections, and I have been paying attention more since I rooted. I am also caring for 11 month old twins, so things are kind of a blur. What I am saying is I might not be the most reliable source. I can say that switching from 5ghz to 2.4ghz seems to have solved my WiFi issue.

Any solution for the 5 minutes Tethering/wifi hotspot bug ?

Hi,
I have stock 4.0.3 and i wanted to know if there is any solution for the annoying bug that cuts wifi hotspot (tethering) after 5 minutes?
Whenever i turn tethering on, it automatically disconnects after 5 minutes, even if another device is connected.
Any tip about fixing this huge bug will be very appreciated.
Thanks
Anyone ??
I'm sure more people have noticed this bug...
Yes noticed it.
Using freedom os fixed it.
It's based on stock oos only.
I'm on freedom os and I encounter the same bug. My solution was to remove wifi password

I have password on still my WiFi isn't shutting down after 5 mins now.
Lucky me maybe.
Also noticed that yesterday...
Noticed this two days ago when internet was down at my house and I tried using my hotspot to get work done. Was quiet annoying.

That strange I just got my OP3T and havent needed to use the hotspot yet. But my nexus 5x just started doing the same thing recently, made me wonder if its a more wide spread issue across different devices.
Yes it's very strange.
I've read somewhere else that it's only happening after the oxygen 4.0.3 update.
noticed this and can't find a solution yet.
I just got my 3T two weeks ago and I haven't tested WiFi tethering, my phone is running OOS 4.0.3, rooted with Magisk and passes SafetyNet.
I know my old Galaxy S4 worked fine for tethering for hours.
I will test WiFi tethering and to my laptop this evening while streaming content from YouTube and see if my tethering lasts longer than 5 minutes. I will also test if I can properly turn the WiFi toggle on and off without the phone acting up.
Uh this is something I will test out as well. I need a working tethering Hotspot for work and I didn't expect any issues here (just got my OP3t a few days ago.
Gesendet von meinem Nexus 6P mit Tapatalk
I've had mine a couple of weeks now and tethered a couple of times and had no issues, however, I've resisted the temptation to update to 4.0.3, due to the touch latency issue and now maybe because of this, and only updated to 3.5.4. So maybe it's a 4.0.3 issue as mentioned?
Greetings, I just wanted to follow up and state that my tethering worked just fine. I did three 10 minutes videos on YouTube at 1080p and consumed 600MB of my data plan.
No interruptions or disconnects. My 3T was on a 4G connection the entire time. Plus I did this test when my 3T was at 14% battery and went down to 8% battery.
Once again my specs are the following, OOS 4.0.3 and Magisk Rooted.
The actual issue is hotspot will be disabled if no device is connected.
Only fix I found was using either Tasker or Automate to check that and switch it back on (I use a location trigger, since I need while at office only).

When enabling Portable hotspot, which uses Mobile Data and allows others to connected to the phone, it states inside "Connected Device Manager" that this feature will be turned off after 5 minutes if there is no device connected.
I'm not sure that this is a problem, I'm sure my Galaxy S4 did the same thing when no device is connected after a period of time.
But yes creating a Tasker profile to keep toggling this on when it turns off would work.
