100s of Themes Now Available, the Newest and Best just need a test! - Galaxy Note 4 General

Hey guys just need a tester to verify for me that my Theme Park or the individual themes I've ported work for the Note4 as well. Theres over a 100 to choose from: You must have S6 Apps or be using an "S6 Ported" ROM to have really good results otherwise results may very as to how well or full the theme will appear.
100+ THEMES FOR S6 PORTED APPS ON NOTE 4, 3, S5& S4
Individual Themes (a directory, download a zip and flash in FlashFire or Custom Recovery)
If you cant get a certain app to theme its more than likely not a good port. I recommend Albe95's Ports their great!
I also would like my Theme Park tested it does a little more than just visual theme:
dOPE Layers Theme Park
You can use the Theme Park no matter what kind of ROM your on because theres themes for Lollipop or for S6 Lollipop!
to Install download the .zip and run through Custom Recovery, it is built with Aroma!
Thank me if you enjoy, I helped you or donate if you want more releases like this!
Note4 Users Please confirm whats working for you!

thanks for the thanks guys but if you could confirm what you tried and whether or not it worked that'd be awesome!

hi can we get a zip file which we can flash all the themes?

I didn't and I won't until OP gets updated with screenshots.

Post some screens man !! Someone . . . . lots of themes but no preview.

Not work for Note4 dr.ketan L9 Dr.Ketan ROM.
Already flash it from CWM, but boot with no end at Samsung logo.
And i see that apk file store at system/overlay *in your file*, but in my system/overlay there only 1 file.
I already have Ironman Theme before, but all ironman .apk not store at system/overlay.
How to do this manually without flashing from CWM ?
*my rom already support S6 themes*

Who would release a theming repository and app without any galleries? WTF are you thinking?

Please try to adopt it for non rooted phones and sell on play store

thank you for the useful feedback. what theme did you try? also you say your ROM already supports S6 themes? can you download from the theme store and apply to phone and it works perfectly? if so can you please provide me with the directory that the broken down apk files are stored in if its not /system/vendor/overlay... like the ironman.apk you were talking about if its installed on the phone say on an S6 all the apks that are contained in the ironman.apk file (individual apks for theming each app like contacts, mms etc) are all stored in the /data/overlays directory. on an s4 or s5 we use the /system/vendor/overlay directory.
you asked about doing it manually in order to do that unpack the theme zip to phone in a directory you can easily find. then use bitsyko's layers manager and load the .apk files from the theme you want to install. thanks for your help. please report back any more details you can give me.

well I released this for S4 initally. I needed testers for the Note 4/Note 3 and S5. S5 works exactly like the S4 but the Note 4/3 I'm still trying to make sure it will work with stock S6 apps. unfortunately havent gotten much feedback. this isnt officially released yet and do u have any idea how long or much time it would take to upload screenshots for hundreds of themes? christ its taken me months to get this far. thats why I asked that anyone that successfully tries them to post their screens. you can alternatively search for dOPE Theme Park on XDA and view the original S4 page which has only a few screenshots. Ive been focusing on making 2.0 and updated a lot of themes and made a few new ones also added the possibility to individually theme each app so each app has a different theme if wanted.... who criticizes a General post asking for testers?! LOL if I can get a few people to test and get feedback I can finalize this for the Note 4 at which point the release would be located in the proper Note4 Themes/Apps Forum. thanks for your concern

ok I read thru the S6 thread you lead me to. so it seems that Dr K's ROM is a direct port of an S6. Thus the themes would have to be installed off the Store or flashed over an exisiting theme that was already installed. Which means I'd need someone with the theme designer to package one of my themes with generically named files. then install that via script and then flash over the top of a different theme from my theme collection... its weird to me that BitSyko's Layers Manager doesnt work for you guys. Thats what the Samsung Overlays is based on... did you try using it like I suggested? or has anyone tried it? Just download it off the play store and then unpack one of my zips to your phone or whatever then select the .apk files from the theme that you want to install. Using this method would enable u to flash multiple parts of different themes to the phone. So for example you could have Avengers as your Dialer, Captain America as your Contacts, Black Widow as your MMS, Hulk as your Settings and so on (looks like your an Avengers fan lol) would you give that a try or anyone using a different S6 ROM with say Albe95's S6 Ported files give that a shot for me and let me know. I'm still convinced this method will work.

Stock DI18 Theme Template For Themeing Stock/Non-Deodexed Rom

Stock DI18 Theme Template for the Samsung Epic 4g
This is for the themers to work from as a base and for those who wish to theme the stock DI18 rom on the Epic without having to install a deodexed rom.
Credit goes out to Raiderep and Crake for getting the ball rolling, and DearmasFamily for altering the code to make it work correctly. Thanks D, hope you guys enjoy.
This file deletes all the *.odex in system and framework, while installing stock files that have been deodexed and zipaligned. Should run very efficient! Hope you guys enjoy!
Flash in clockworkmod recovery right over the stock rom.

Should be updating tomorrow with even more optimized stock files.
Just updated link, found 2 media hubs on my phone.
I made a deodexed stock DI18 ROM already a few weeks back for this purpose.

This isn't actually the same thing. For the average user to get their stock rom fully deodexed, you are correct. They can run your update zip, then place a theme on top of it. But for the themers, who are testing multiple themes, or the users who use more than one theme and switch back and forth, there is a huge difference. Let me give you an example. If I'm testing out my mayan theme and I want to flash the black hole. Lets say the mayan theme has the fonts changed and black hole doesn't (not true, just for sake of argument). I flash my theme template to reset the font and then I flash the black hole or have the font from the mayan theme bleed through to the black hole. At this point I'm not going to flash back to a entire stock theme and loose all my settings, I'm just going to flash the theme template to reset the framework files to stock. All settings, including your launcher, phone apps, etc will remain exactly as is when switching themes.
Updated. I was told by Zienzu that there is an issue with the Media Hub not recognizing file formats. I replaced the Media Hub and its services so they should be just fine now. If the problem persists, please notify me.
Looks like the first go round when I had 2 versions of the media hub in there, one was the fixed and one the broken. I deleted the fixed version out by mistake.

Not quite the theme template for SyndicateRom has been tweaked to work without carrierIQ plus there are a few other changes in it like reboot option, 3 images for the GPS rather than 2. Sorry for the delay on answering this question. I'm going to work on a stock EB13 theme template.
I dont know if you've started already or given up already on the EB13, but I was wonder if you were working on an EC05 stock theme yet?

[APP] ZipThemer - theme installer with MetaMorph compatibility

You might be interested in an alternative way to install MetaMorph themes. Its an app I've developed that builds flashable update.zip files onboard the device by combining your system files with the theme content.
Because it builds onboard using your system files, it preserves existing installed themes assuming one theme does not overwrite the other. It is also capable of installing more than one theme at a time via a single update.zip file.
I developed this app after getting tired of MetaMorph spontaneously rebooting the device near the end of the install process. I typically install more than one theme per new ROM flash and wanted to get all my themes installed in a single reboot. ZipThemer has satisfied that goal for me. Give it a try if you like... its free, donations gratefully accepted

Wow! I have been waiting for something like this. Metamorph is great, but I can very rarely get to the end of some of my themes. Thanks. I will have to try this later.
Sounds great, does it work with all metamorph themes? What about flashable ones? I have also had a lot of trouble using metamorph and wished there was an easy way to go back after using it.
thanks,
-Keith
There have been some limitiations found in the current version of ZipThemer. I'm working on fixing these for the next version which will work with more MetaMorph themes. ZipThemer does not work with flashable themes. It also doesn't create backups yet, so I suggest using Nand backup/restore for that now.

This seems like a good idea. One thought I've had about Metamorph, and maybe you could consider it as an option as well....
The most common cause of theme incompatibility aside from poor theme building or the use of XMLs is the "-v4" tags. If you could do a quick check for the presense or lack of these tags in the target APKs so the program doesn't try to create a drawable-hdpi or mdpi when a drawable-hdpi-v4 or mdpi-v4 already exists, you'd have a LOT more cross-platform theme capability.
Just a thought
Sounds do-able. Can you provide links to a theme and ROM image for which this is an issue? I'd be able to understand the problem and implement/troubleshoot faster... thanks,
Ken

Not at a location where I can browse around too easily, but you can generally look at any theme built for a custom rom vs. one built for a stock rom. Framework-res is particularly common to have this issue, but it can really be any apk. The folders of potential interest that I've seen are:
drawable-en-hdpi-v4
drawable-es-hdpi-v4
drawable-hdpi-v4
drawable-land-hdpi-v4
drawable-nodpi-v4
drawable-mdpi-v4
drawable-land-mdpi-v4
drawable-ldpi-v4
...then of course the same folders lacking the "-v4" would be the corresponding counterpart. There's probably a few other folders that can have a "-v4", but if you just have your script search for that tag then search the target or source file for the same folder lacking the tag, you should be good.
What if I put in general logic to prevent the addition of any new entries in the patched apks, regardless of the folder name? In other words, if the entry doesn't exist in the target it wouldn't be created. Only entries that already exist in the target apk would be updated if included in the theme file.

I wanted to say thank you for this app as well kellinwood. I've been pushing it alot with my themes for adding my sliders and other things that can't be addressed by theme chooser and am debating doing a Sense theme as well and will definately push it for that too. I like the fact that it creates an undo zip as well... Saves a lot of headaches for when people don't do a backup before applying a theme lol. No matter how much you remind people.. backup first... Most probably don't lol. They just don't think about it when they are in recovery I'm sure and if it's a MM they don't think to reboot and do a backup before applying it. Great work man

Thank you!
This truly is a wonderful accomplishment! Thank you! I just ported themes from Froyo to Gingerbread on Dream/Sapphire and recommending your app to make a zip for the Gingerbread ROM of their choice.

[06Feb2014][APP][Quantum Themer]Theme Chooser for Stock(Based) ROMs

Hi all!
Are you making a ROM? Want users to switch between Themes without downloading tons of zips and flashing them and ending up in a mess? Actually I made this App for my upcoming ROM("Quantum Radicle") for Micromax A89 and it turned out to work on all phones. Sharing is caring
Here is the solution - Quantum Themer!
You maybe wondering how it works. The answer is:
Based on VillianTheme System! What I did was first tried to run the script on my Phone, ended up with 10-15 errors, fixed them! Now all this App does behind the scenes is Feed the Theme you select to the script and the script does the rest! But if you do see, the VillianTheme Template itself is nearly 600 KB and the App is just 650 KB
Let's get Straight into the list of features!
Features:
Works on all ROMs - Stock, Custom, AOSP, eh, you name it!
Preview of Themes before Applying
Custom File Extension for themes(Default is .qrt, if you do dig my App, you will find this being set in com.adhi.quantumthemer.ThemeSelector Class. Feel free to change it! But don't kang the App)
Single Button, no hassles!
In-built File Explorer
Theme structure is so simple that, even a "Starter" doesn't take more than a minute to understand
You can use it in your ROM. Just copy the APK into your ROM and provide your users with Theme Files, you don't need to ask permissions, just give me credits
Just include files that need to be replaced/modified, cutting down the size of your themes by a great margin
Scroll down and search for the download link, you'll tell me more
Framework, System Apps, Data Apps support
Will modify APKs in a ROM, without changing signatures, and can be used on any ROM where the filenames of themed files is the same.
Should not need updated between versions of a ROM
Zipaligns all APKs before installation
Stores a backup of all files being modified in /sdcard/vrtheme-backup/
Requires no coding abilities or editing of files - just drag and drop
Click to collapse
Now, this will be "Copy, paste" from a VillianTheme Tutorial on "How to make Themes". You may skip to the last point if you know/understand how it works! I strongly recommend you to have a look at the Attached theme for reference. Open it with your favorite Zip Browser(WinRar, 7-Zip)
Check this thread out as well.
Inside the qrt file(Which is to be opened with a Zip Viewer), you can create a folder called "system" and "data" and include a Preview of the theme named "preview.png" or "preview.jpg"(All folders and files without Quotes in their names). The former is required, the latter is not required unless you wanted to theme a data app (strongly not recommended, unless you know the app will be there on every phone)
Inside the system or data folder, create a subfolder "app", and in these, make subfolders named EXACTLY after the APK name. For example, to theme the Browser, you need a folder called "Browser.apk", for Statusbar, "SystemUI.apk". It must be correctly capitalised.
Within there, place the files you require for your theme, in the relevant locations. So most PNGs will be in res/drawable-hdpi/. You can put in xml files too (those which are not in resources.arsc), if you compile them via apktool, and extract them with a zip tool.
If you do make it from scratch and zip it, don't forget to Rename it with extension ".qrt"

Now lets move on to "How to use it" as I have too much time to kill now, I'm including this
How to Use:
Just Install the App(System, User doesn't matter). Click on "Select Theme" button and then select the Theme you want to Apply. It will ask for Root Permissions if its the First Launch. Next, you'll get a preview of Theme which is going to be applied and then when you press the "Apply" button, the theme will be applied and a Alert Dialog Box asking you to Reboot will appear. I suggest you to Reboot your phone at this point itself. And after reboot, you will be happy to see the Theme Applied

If you face any problems with this App, do the following -
Debugging:
1. Check whether /sdcard/vrtheme exists and contains four or more files/folders.If it doesn't, copy all the contents off vrtheme.zip in the assets folder of the Quantum Themer App.
2. Mount System as R/W before Applying Theme manually.
3. Copy /sdcard/vrtheme/zip and /sdcard/vrtheme/zipalign to /system/bin and CHMod it to 777
4. Type
Code:
sh /sdcard/vrtheme/i*

You can try making your own Theme, its fairly simple
How can I make this work if, for example, I have a SystemUI.apk or framework-res.apk modified and I want to apply it on my phone using this app? It's possible?

Because the resource files used are device independent, a file available to MOD on one phone may not be available on the other!

Some ideas:
Would be great if you can add more than one preview pic, in just one is hard to show all things themed.
Other thing is would be nice if themes with their preview remain on the app to just choose one and apply it, I mean like CM themes so you don't have to browse in folders and choose the qrt file each time you want to apply a previously loaded theme.
And finally that the app automatically make a qrt file of the backup that the app make when you apply a theme, so you can easily apply your backup if you didn't like the theme applied.
Sorry for my English

First of all, it would be cool to have a folder where everyone would put those .qrts, a folder in /system (/system/QuantumThemes) maybe for us to be able to create packages of more than one .qrt and once a user flashes this package, those .qrts will be placed in this folder.
Second, another idea would be: when you open Quantum Themer it will automatically show themes from this particular folder(/system/QuantumThemes) without having the users to browse for themes in the mess of an sdcard. This way it would look more like a theme engine.
Third, how about categories or sections like: Toggles (/system/QuantumThemes/Toggles), or more specific categories like Status Bar Mods/Toggles (/system/QuantumThemes/Status Bar Mods/Toggles) those categories would be created and named by themers or ROM developers. There would be basically folders placed inside the /system/QuantumThemes and your application would just.
So, to give you a whole view of what I am thinking...
A user installs the Quantum Themer. The user flashes a CWM mod package created by someone. The user opens the Quantum Themer app. A window with all of the categories opens. The user selects a category. The category opens revealing sub categories. The user selects a sub category. The sub category opens revealing all installed mods for this sub category. The user selects a mod. A small or full screen window opens showing a preview, maybe a small description(taken from a file /.qrt/description.txt) and an Install button.
Well, that's actually a lot of things...
I thought it would be good sharing with you since you said you want to keep this active and update it. :highfive:
Hope I helped and I definitely hope to see such a great tool becoming better.

I'll add Restore feature, but it will not be a QRT file.
Thanks for your suggestion.

See your PM. It is due to the Binaries not being copied for some strange reason. Its very minor and easy to fix though

Thanks for your detailed feedback mate
1. I think /sdcard/QuantumThemer is a better place as messing around with system is not good for our device and there will be memory limitations in low-end devices. However your idea is cool and all your first 3 points were based on categories, I can take it as one great suggestion. Setting default directory to /sdcard/QauntumThemer is not tough either. I'm already working on a separate layout for displaying Description, preview and if possible a Video Playback.
2. Yes. Instead of laboriously setting up arrays for selecting Categories->Sub Caegories, a central folder on SD Card will be neat.
Thanks for your suggestions people!

{Themes} CM12S free themes from the Themes Store

Work great on CM12.1 nightly so it would work on all ROMS.
You can mix themes components just like on CM12S with your Themes app.
Just extract the .rar file , there are 10 Themes (APKs), install which one you want.
Free CM12S Themes.rar
Great
@kosta20071 I appreciate your work. If possible keep this updated with new free themes as they come out.

I can try, but it is really easy for those who use CM12S and CM12.1 nightly with multi-rom.
When downloading a theme from the Themes Store app , the apks are stored in /data/data/.....ThemeStore/files/ .
So you need only to copy the apks somewhere and install them or share them here.
Alternatively, it's possible to extract from CM12S ROM (Calkulin's_Stock_OPO_YNG1TAS0YL_ROM_v1.0) :
/system/priv-app/AmbientCore/AmbientCore.apk
/system/priv-app/ThemeChooser/ThemeChooser.apk
/system/priv-app/ThemeStore/ThemeStore.apk
install the apps on your CM12.1 nightly or whatever , open Themes ( the one you installed becuase there are 2 Themes apps , one is the built-in and the second is the Themes Store ),then login with Cyanogen account , just like on CM12S and you will see the themes , you can download them and do what I mentioned above.

I forgot to say that this method is just for downloading the themes using the store. You can't apply the theme using cm12s Theme Chooser ... it is not ported.

Unfortunately no, but there is a long method by which you can use some stuff from the theme you want to use as base. The steps are:
1) Extract every qmg file from each apk within a theme and rename the extracted apks to zip.
2) using command prompt run the following command:
Code:
ren *.qmg *.png
it will auto change the extension from qmg to png.
3) Transfer the pngs to mobile phone and look at the images you want to use
4) create your theme and individually replace the qmg which you identified from pngs with the base themes qmg. That's it.
I know its a tiresome task
nice:good: i made my first theme
Thanks, this is something..

First, thank you for posting this tool.
I'm still old skool in terms of theming, hard coding the system and adding/changing images to my preference.
It seems the the overlay themes are the direction it been headed for sometime so if the tool is easy enough and less time consuming, I suppose I could switch, plus the compatibility for many more devices and users is quite nice!
As far as converting/viewing qmg images install this to your phone and within the app select the apk of which you wish to view the qmg images and bam! It's all done, converted to png's viewable on pc and everything!
Anyways, thanks again!

I also found out one more way as this alp was not working for me on s7. Further, the above mentioned method is not working as the tool requires you to sign the apk with a certificate which you create with this tool itself and changing the files i think damages the signature. Nevertheless the 2nd way is to rename the qmg files to png. Transfer them to phone and then through the phone edit them. Add a small difference so that you can save it. Once you do, it will save it in png format.
