GWR Wi-Fi Update/ Android Wear Update - LG G Watch R

Has anyone else had any new news regarding the info from this article? http://phandroid.com/2015/07/12/exclusive-android-wear-interactive-watch-faces/
I mean, its pretty obvious nothing is coming out this week, but maybe someone has heard about another release date?

Maybe it depends on how the Urbane sales are going. If they are slow we might have to wait even longer for the update so they can carry on pushing it as the only LG watch with WiFi!!!!!

That is true, however they explained this in May so that people won't get confused:
“LG Watch Urbane is the only wearable device Currently shipping with the latest version of Android Wear OS and is Wi-Fi capable out of the box. The original LG G Watch was not designed with Wi-Fi in mind and will not have this capability even after the Android Wear update. LG G Watch R will require a maintenance release after the patch update to Android Wear-access Wi-Fi networks. LG engineers are preparing the patch now for availability in the third quarter.”

I'm gonna wait myself. I don't rush updates anymore. I have found the old adage "be careful what you ask for" to be spot on with it comes to Android updates over the past year or so.

We have lift-off. Taken from the Reddit thread
https://android.googleapis.com/pack....signed-lenok-LCA44B-from-LDZ22D.20ffa54c.zip
https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidWear/comments/3hsmkq/ota_downloads/cuavli8

Just got my OTA notification. Installing now. Yay!

Just got an OTA - I was surprised to find a WiFi section in the settings menu. Should be working fine, I haven't tested it yet. Build number is LCA44B.

Still nothing in northern California.

Already got 2 hours ago and found this new feature.

It's good if they will actually stick to their word this time but it's still quite crap that it will have taken them nearly 6 months to release. When the devs on here have already released gingerbread ROMs!!
Come on LG some your [email protected]#t out!!
I wish people would stop posting these, it's clear that LG have no idea when they're releasing it.
It especially didn't need a new thread when there are so many on it already.

Yea, Samsung has sold 5M S2's in 85 days. If LG did better for O2X as First Dual Core Mobile. This won't happen

NO THEY KNOW LESS We already know how and when GB will be ...
It will be when we decide ( just instal CM7 or modaco ) and will be 1000% much better than any LG rom

Would still be great to have the sources for 2.3 - together with the LG Apps (esp. Camera app) which will work on 2.3 ...
the main reason, maybe LG didn't know how to make GB fully operational in optimus 2x or they too busy to prepare a new comer, optimus 3d etc. etc?
Probably the amount of bugs to fix
don't hold your breath.
One thing is for sure.
There are going to be a lot of Pissed off people if we get the GB update and the phone still suffers from overheating and shutdown issues

LG Release ICS

Source
"Following the footsteps of Samsung and Sony, LG has come forth with details on which devices will be getting Android 4.0 -- also known as Ice Cream Sandwich "
"During the second quarter of 2012 upgrades will begin for the following smartphone models: the LG Optimus LTE, Prada phone by LG 3.0, the LG Optimus 2X, the LG Optimus Sol, the LG myTouch Q and the LG Eclipse. These upgrades will be followed by upgrades for the following smartphone models during the third quarter of 2012: the LG Optimus 3D, the LG Optimus Black, the LG Optimus Big, the LG Optimus Q2 and the LG Optimus EX."
Well it looks like by the end of the year LG will have ICS release for our device, but (and its a big one) we obviously dont know how long it will take at&t to ready it for us.
So it looks like AT&T will let us down even more.
With that being said from now on all my android decives will be bough directly from google, to ensure that I get the latest android builds.
FYI: for those that are not aware LG has also already released GB for our phone and AT&T has it, but we all know how that is going.

That's a fake rom with a funny launcher.
This is the last time I buy a LG phone. I very much regret purchasing the Thrill 4G and if I could return it (I am beyond the 30 day window), I would.
---------- Post added at 10:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:21 AM ----------
The stock ROM is horrible with all the bloat. All that crap kills my battery, and it is only running Andorid 2.2, so everything is sluggish. My single core Droid X that I bought a year ago was much faster. LG bloat is a perfect example why Google needs to lock down the manufacture and carrier software that is installed on Android devices.
LG and AT&T sucks!
I was super excited to get this phone but once I started rooting it and wanting to do more it has done nothing but give me problems. I live in a 4G area but I'm getting less then 3G speeds, all AT&T will do it kinda look at it until I get mad enough to just walk out of the store. When I call in I ask to be offered another phone and an upgrade price and they refuse, I've only been with AT&T for 7 months and I'm ready to break the contract and leave for good.

I hoping it fixes the random disconnects. Never happened until the last FW update, then I got one every other day and it was pretty tiresome. Also never tracked it down but I keep randomly seeing something about host stopped working as well as "cannot install app to the Gear" when turning on the phone after being off or something of that nature.

I can see it but still can't access the clocks in my gear manager after installing it. I am going back to d8. I downloaded the dd firmware for the UK and it gave me a fitness manager app. S health works now and syncs. But I started having an issue where my phone answers automatically or disconnects whenever I get a call while connected to my gear 2 neo. Also there is no us update for the dd firmware. I have searched high and low, but the knowledge and support for the gear 2 is very limited. Too many issues being reported out the box. My assumption is people who are rooted or using custom roms are having the most trouble. Good luck early adopters.
Thank you for the heads up. I'll wait

RDF is what Sprint uses to publish software versions and updates. Currently our phones are running software version ZV4. The latest update on the RDF site shows ZV5. We should expect an update within the next month or two.

RDF's will not display correctly in most browsers. If you open the link in Internet Explorer on a PC you will actually be able to view it without it all being jumbled together. Like the OP said this is how you know Sprint is working on an update.

I've had mine since launch. I hope it is a software issue so it can be fixed with an update. Other than this issue I love the phone.
What's up fellow Sprint users.
The update today is the ZV5 update. at least that is what shows up in my Software Version now. "LS991ZV5"
Just bug fixes, according to the LG rep.(Quick toggle bug is still there.)
I also received a network update today. Had to restart my phone. Anyone know what that was all about?

This is great news! I've always has awful battery life on lolipop and kitkat so hopefully marshmallow will improve things. As far as root goes, you should just be able to flash TWRP than systemless SuperSU or a modified boot image.

I am not sure in what way the Knox system prevents you from doing anything to your device. The Knox does not prevent you from rooting the device, installing TWRP, or from flashing roms. Samsung often calls Knox the "warranty bit", but that's a bull name that has no legal meaning.
I'm happy to hear that the marshmallow update is coming to this tablet. I have the 32gb version and I really like it. I had the nexus 7 2013 before this and tried some other tablets that have the marshmallow update like the Nvidia shield but I enjoy this tablet more. Coupled with a 128GB SD Card, I have a plethora of movies and books on it.
