I just pre-ordered my galaxy s6 edge on amazon and i have a couple of questions:
1) Will the "Nexus Wireless Charger" sold by google work with my new S6 or i'll have to buy a new wireless charger???
2) Does the "Car wireless charger" sold by samsung charge slowly compared to "wired charging"??
3) I just checked my local samsung online store and only this car wireless charger (Model number: EP-HN910I) is listed. It also states it's for the galaxy note 4.
What is the difference with the one sold on the us online store (Model number: EP-HN910IBUSTA)??????
4) As for "wired car charger" i found this one by samsung (Model number: ECA-U21CBE).... will this charger charge the galaxy s6 as fast as possible in my car or there's something better??

Yes, the Nexus charger uses Qi so that should work with the S6.

Yes, Qi charging is slower than wired. Qi is currently limited to 5W (1A) for phones and as far as I know Samsung arn't doing anything to go higher than this. Samsung's car charger should be similar to your nexus charger. By wire it supports fast charging (~15W), but any decent 10W (2A) charger will be twice as fast as wireless.
Edit: I obviously havent tried this with the S6 and Samsung's charger, but my experience in the past is a good Qi charger will slowly charge a phone while you are using GPS with screen brightness turned up. It is slow though, the charger is barely providing more power than the phone is using.

That is a 2A charger. (10W).
The phone supports faster but I am not sure if there is a suitable car charger yet. There may never be because Samsung's support page says fast charging only works when the screen is off so it is probably pointless in a car.
wireless charging is much slower.. but not only is it slower, it heats up the battery more and puts more wear on the battery as well due to heat and wasted energy involved with wireless charging.
for car charger i would recommend the RavPower, it puts out 2.4A per jack and you can charge 3 deices at the same time and use your own USB cables.

The Galaxy S6 doesn't have a qualcomm processor so it shouldn't make a difference right??
Doesn't Samsung use a proprietary solution when it comes to fast charging???

the QUALCOMM chargers (either wall or car) will work with s6 or s6 edge. The fast charging capability is a feature that I really like

it will charge, but unless you have a Qualcomm 2.0 phone any other phone you plug in will just "adapt" to the fastest charge rate in this case will be 5V @ 2.1-2.4A.

I tested an S6 with a QUALCOMM 2.0 charger and did get message that 'fast charger' connected. So S 6 and S 6 Edge will provide fast charge with a Qualcomm fast charger

did you measure the Amps and Volts? anything above 2A is "fast charge"
in order for it to be the "fast charge" it has to be @ 9 Volts not the typical 5V.
not saying the S6 won't work with Qualcomm, because i don' t have a phone to test the amps, but mostly only phones with Qualcomm chips are the ones that support Qualcomms own "fast charge" mode, and samsung S6 has no Qualcomm. one would think it would be a license patent thing that wouldn't be compataible with just any device..

Does it actually output 2A to the phone? The sticker on the back says "Input: 2A", but it is normal for the transmitters to have a higher input than output current. I think they will have just put 2A to match the output rating of the wired charger it goes with. The S5 charger pad also says "Input: 2A" and that was a normal 5W pad.
The Samsung S6 Pad is listed on the WPC page as a "Lower Power Transmitter", which means 5W max. They did recently increase the Qi standard to 15W, but that is only a draft specification (called Medium Power) and they are not listing any products available with it at the moment. (And of course, it would be at least 3A in).
I am not saying it definitely doesnt support fast charging - TI have a transmitter/receiver solution which is 10W but also supports Qi 5W (though that needs 12v in so isn't used here). If they supported something like this though I am sure they would have mentioned it. Plus the need to support PMA on the receiver would have limited their choices of receiver chip. I wouldn't be surprised if they are using TI's solution, which is 5W.

I wondered that as well, though I wasn't able to actually find any hard evidence one way or another. Even the listing for the item on Best Buy doesn't mention it (or at least it didn't last night). Might just have to take the wait-and-see approach with this one. Taken at face value though, the possibility is there. My gut says you're probably right though.
i have a spare motorola turbo charger (qualcomm 2.0 quick charger) that came with my droid turbo. I preordered the s6 edge and was wondering if the turbo charger will work with fast charging of the s6 edge? just want to clarify. thanks

Yeah if fast charging is what you're looking for that's definitely the way to go.
The alternative wireless solution is to simply get a wireless power bank, but of course that still won't charge quickly; though they are less cumbersome.

i have s6 gold edge, it does show "fast charger connected" when connected to a charger with qualcomm 2.0 fast charge.
if it charging at typical 5v, this "fast charger connected" would not shows up.
Does anyone happen to know which one charges these phones faster? If I'm not mistaken, Adaptive Fast Charge is basically QC 2.0 right? So wouldn't USB-C PD be faster?
My phone hasn't been shipped yet, otherwise I would test it out myself.
The phone only supports Samsung's Adaptive fast charging, so using a USB-C PD charger won't make a difference.
It also supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 as fast charging, just like the S8 and S9s.

S10 devices only support 2.0. your previous post said it supports 3.0. it does not.
Any charger will charge the phone, but not faster than the specs allow. I can have a 25w charger but my S10 will not take the 25w capacity

Why would I go through all that just to prove what we both already know. You even said it yourself that it charges as fast as wall adapter. Wall adapter that ships with the phone is NOT 3.0, so what are you trying to prove exactly? Wall adapter charges at 2.0 amps.

You need to contact Samsung and let them know this, I'm not sure they're even aware of this feature.
chill guys, its cause QC is backward compatible.. so using QC3.0 you will get fast charging up to QC2.0.. not too sure about USB-C PD but i can confirm when using USB-C PD charger, you will get fast charging as well.. not too sure which is faster.. probably the same if the charger can charge up to 15W which is the official max charging speed for S10 btw.
edit: i use the same USB-C PD charger for nintendo switch and S10+

Obviously Quick Charge 3.0 would be backwards compatible with Quick Charge 2.0. There's no such thing as "Quick Charge 3.0 only." If there was, boy would we have a lot of fried/exploded devices as they received more current than they were rated for.
Haha did you guys even look up what QC 2 and QC 3 were? They aren't that much different, just the step size. Both have a max of 18 W. You would need a volt meter to prove the phone was QC 3 compatible, showing it charging at a voltage that was not near 5, 9, or 12 volts. As far as I'm aware, the S10 either charges at 5V with Fast Charging disabled, or at 9 V if fast charging is enabled. That would adhear to the QC 2 spec, not the QC 3 spec, since it can't do voltages between 5 and 9. If the S10 gets an update for 25W charging, I believe it would charge at 12 V. Still, only QC 2 compliant, but not QC 3.
USB-C PD can go up to 100 W. I think 45 W and 90 W for laptops is pretty common. The Huawei P30 Pro can supposedly charge at 40 W.

Guess they were having a hard time understanding that QC 3.0/2.0/whatever give the fastest charging speeds that S10 can handle.
On my S9 with Nintendo Switch USB-C PD charger I couldn't get 15w, just 10w (aprox. 5v and 2a).

Thats likely because you have fast charging disabled. USB-C PD chargers should be capable of charging at 9V 1.67 amps (15W) the same as any QC 2.0 or QC 3.0 or Adaptive Fast Charging capable device. They are just different standards.
Haven't tried using the original charger yet, but my s10 charges on my usb pd capable charger for about 1hr and 20 from 15% to 100%
I'm able to charge up my S10 with a QC. 3.0 power bank and car charger in about the same time as the stock wall charger.

I currently have a 10W Qi wireless charge stand.
Is this enough to wirelessly charge the P30 Pro at the fastest speed it supports, or would I need a new wireless charge stand to do that?

I was wondering if the s10 will be able to achieve quick charge with the newly released xiaomi wireless charger (20w). Apparently, this charger achieves 20w with QC 2.0/3.0/4.0 over Qi. Also wondering if the new Samsung quick charge duo supports QC over Qi.

In general terms, V×A = W. Now, voltage is pushed and current is pulled. So it doesn't matter what the Amp is, what matters is that the Voltage should not exceed the max specs. That is why Oppo's VOOC chargers are best suited. They keep volt at 5V while increasing the ampere to 3/4 Amp to increase Watt without damaging the phone.

Qualcomm's quick charge technology is backward compatible. So a QC4+ supporting device will happily work with a QC 3 charger.
Also, QC 4+ technology is design to withstand upto 20v and upto 4.6Amps (not at the same time) and at the same time QC 4 and 4+ are no different the specifications there are same there is only some internal changes.
QC 4 achieves 27w not via the QC technology but it uses USB-PD which is a universal technology released on 2012 and unlike QC it's not proprietary Qualcomm's tech. USB-PD for our device works in the range of 3-11V and 0-3A.
Also, charging current and voltage is controlled by the device, not the charger. You can safely charge your phone using a MacBook charger which can provide upto 60w of power and it won't harm your phone.
#tldr : yes it's totally safe to use any charger with your phone. Unless it's not a cheap one which doesn't comply to basic quality standards you are good to go.
