Bug fixes and 5.1.1 Android update - T-Mobile LG G4

Any new word on 5.1.1 and bug fix update coming to the LG G4? Its constantly freezing, touchscreen doesn't always recognize touches.

Doubt they will do 5.1.1.. Mostly likely the G4 will get M a cpl of months before they release the G5

If LG wants to give us 5.1.1 that is fine. To be honest LG absolutely has to release an update at least to fix existing bugs. If issues/bugs are resolved, I think we can live with Android 5.1 until Android M arrives.

I'd rather just see a bug fix, I held onto KK for the longest time until I upgraded from the G2 to this. The touchscreen and Bluetooth drops are rough

If their track record is anything like it was with the G3, then I agree with you sir. LG and their lack of timely nearly ruined the experience for me.
Majority of the issues with this phone seem to be rooted in the software so hopefully they at least release a meaningful update to address those in the wake of 5.1.1.

Will L90 get the official Lollipop update?

OEMs are announcing update plans.
Profit hungry samsung is updating only high ends.
Motorolla is updating almost all.
LG leaked some models like G3, G2.
Some sources say L90.
What do you think? Will Lg be agressive & release it for Mid ranges like L90?

Signs on skies and earths say it will. What will we end up with at the end of the day? Only LG knows
We'll most likely get it. This phone's bound to get an update, and I doubt it'll be a small bump to 4.4.4.
Man I hope so. If we didn't, it would be like not getting a present at Xmas time
Or getting organic rice from Trick or Treating.

My reasons to doubt it is. LG never released 4.4.0 because they said they want android to become stable first. They jumped to 4.4.2 and marketed new devices.
Next, LG is the slowest to update. Remember kitkat for G2 ?
Maybe by May next year they will release new phones (5.1) and market those?

No he didn't. He meant it would be just as disappointing as not getting presents for xmas. Or [fill in perk of a hollyday] on [said hollyday].
BTW, I'm going to wait for CM 12, which will probably come sooner than LG's update anyway.

LG has been on top of their game for the last year. We'll get it.
I'm hoping it will get the update.
Cmon LG, got a tablet and a smartphone from you, don't let me down!
I sure hope we'll get the newest version. Though I wonder how well will it run on this device and how much internal memory will it require. But I'm not getting my hopes up. Somewhat of a realistic/optimistic opinion towards this matter.

It's not, I saw a page about upgrading L90 to 5.0. Doesn't look legit though and I'm too lazy to dig for some info about it
Edit. Yeah, I've just noticed a tutorial on how to pass the survey in order to download this rom on that site which means it may be everything except 5.0 for L90
Actually, I have some doubts about the update. The recent LG announcement that they will bring the LG G3 UI & UX to their low and mid-end devices is what makes me doubt. I mean, why do that if they're presumably working on an Android update for the L90. Of course, if it doesn't take much time or resources, I don't mind.
L90 hardware is somewhat similar to the moto g. So it is possible. Lg has really changed with their latest releases, so it gives me hope that it will get 5.0
L90 would definitely be getting android lollipop, informed by someone really reliable.

Why am I not getting the lollipop update ota yet?

Hi guys
Sorry if this is a dumb question. I have a totally stock 2012 nexus 7 on 4.4.4. It's wireless not 3g and I'm in the UK.
If I check for updates it says I'm up to date. I'm not rooted and running stock android. It had never been tampered with in any way.
Am I missing something?!
Cheers!
Robsa.
Because it has not been pushed yet.

Really surprised it hasn't been pushed yet, even though the factory image and the OTA image are our there already.
An, OK! Many thanks. I take it they pulled the first lollipop release then?

As far as we can tell, and other complaints in other forums seem to confirm, they stopped pushing the update to Nexus 7. Why? We can only speculate. The ways of the Great Google are Mysterious. We are mere children and should not question the Great Google in His Infinite Wisdom.
If Google pulled off the update to fix performance issues some people have been reporting, I'm completely ok with that.
Know it took my wife's N7 2013 quite awhile to update to lolli. Think it was just a few days ago. Just have to be patient as it will come.

I totally agree.
Are you really in THAT big of a hurry to turn your Nexus into a useless piece of garbage? Because that's what will happen after you put 5.0 on it. Hopefully the 5.0.2 image they pushed today will resolve the performance issues.

The 5.0.2 update definitely fixes the performance issues from the initial update to 5.0. Happy with the performance I'm getting. Pretty much the same as what I was getting under KK, which wasn't bad at all.
Initial boot into 5.0.2 might seems slow and laggy, but give it a few hours and it definitely clears up. That's with a clean update.
I didn't get the OTA. I just went to the Google images site and downloaded the official Google image and flashed it. I never got the LP OTA pushed to my device for whatever reason.
Agreed, 5.0.2 seems to have fixed the performance issues I was having.

Wade-0,
Although "push" is a misnomer given how the tech actually works, in common parlance, available for download and manual installation is typically not considered a push. Just sayin.

Considering I used the same terminology from the XDA homepage posting on the topic, maybe you should lighten up there skippy.
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/android-5-0-2-factory-images-nexus-7-wifi/
"Android 5.0.2 has just been pushed into Google’s AOSP repos."
The 4.4.4>5.0 OTA is probably cancelled due to the known reasons.
The 5.0>5.0.2 OTA for the affected people on 5.0 is rolling out, check the other thread for the link.
They will probly wait to see if 5.0.2 fixes the stuff and add some OTA from 4.4.4 to 5.0.2.

T-Mobile G4 H811 Marshmallow 6.0 update

Well now that Android 6.0 Marshmallow is out for the global G4, I wonder how long it will take our beloved T-Mobile to send our official M update also!
Any T-Mobile workers with some insider news???
Yeah very true and hopefully they give us hints or something
We don't get hints or any heads up. The 10n update was pushed before it was even in our systems. Plus I don't think anyone WITH insider knowledge is wanting to take the heat just because a few curious georges are itching their necks. Lol
Oh sad. Wishful thinking.
LG postponed the release of M to Poland due to technical issues. Looks like LG got ahead of itself and over promised. Hopefully they get the H815 issues sorted soon and that it doesn't delay the release to H811. Fingers crossed!

I have already discussed this with LG and their dev team. The Flex (any variant) Will NOT receive Lollipop. Due to the sheer amount of bugs and software issues. Unless they are blowing crap loads of smoke like always. Rumor has it though, the Flex will most likely be receiving 6.0 marshmellow. During Q1 of 2016.

Doesn't really make much sense for the G Flex and the G Pro 2 to not be updated to 5.1 due to "software issues" while their smaller sibling with almost identical hardware, the G2 seems to be getting it.
Anyways, here's hoping against hope that we'll see 6.0 someday.
Hmm....the site says that they have released 2 updates already for 5.1??? Why would they give the D959 an update and not anyone elses?
Oh wait.....this other link says that it wasnt really a Lollipop update but just a heavy OTA...

G Flex didnt received Lollipop yet, and LG is simply deceiving and cheating people and thats a bad thing. It may cause your loyal customers to go away from LG. LG must Listen and thinks of its strategy. Its a shame that the Most Premium device isnt upgrading to latest firmware wheras the lower devices are already updated to Lollipop
Is it possible to get a dev to cook a rom for us? Or has the source code for the flex been locked out and thats why no one has attempted to even try till now?

Will Moto G2 get Android N?

HI everyone,
Is there any definite information available regarding whether the Moto G2 would get the Android N? Thanks for sharing any information about this.
I pray for stock 6.0.1 and security update
support lenovo says that the last tests but when asked which country he could not say
lying, but I hope I'm wrong
forget about stock N..
only custom..
I'll wait a few more weeks as nothing appears I install custom 5.1.1 or RR 5.7.3 based on M.
but on all 6 rom touch issuse is there from what I read
Android N will not be coming to our beloved Moto G2. It will come by CM or other custom rom.
I very doubt it. Titan didn't even got stock 6.0.1 yet. Perhaps CM could bring it, who knows.
Thanks for the replies everyone. Really appreciate it!
Oh well, I am kinda used to the Moto G2 as my second phone. It was quite cheap and is still quite fast and problem-free. So, I was curious (and hopeful) about whether there was any chance of it getting the upcoming Android.
Thanks again! :good:
I am waiting for android N ...lets hope we get it soon
Well, if Lenovo fixed the touch issues, it would make things easier. Anyways, one of CM13's devs for Titan said that it would be hard because stuff changed the camera and without proper source code, it would be hard to make it work. One can only hope.
I just had a chat with Motorola Customer Support. They said that they do not have any information right now as to which all phones will get Android N and by when would they get it.
No stock naugat.
I'm a moto g 2014 owner and i got the official 6.0 patch on my device, though i was a part of a soak test but i'm pretty sure it was released right after the soak ended back in February. chances of Android N on moto g 2nd gen are slim but it could happen.
any chance of custom n rom

Why? The custom ROM's currently available are awesome and provide all that I need for now. If getting the latest version of Android becomes that important to me then I will upgrade my phone to one that supports it. But that's me.

Seems like you don't experience the touch issues which are plaguing the MM ROMs for this device then. And I agree, I don't see a hurry for Nougat for me right now, Marshmallow would be good enough. And I would prefer to see this phone die on MM with a fixed touch drivers (pls Lenovo), rather than going to NG with lots of things broken, according to the devs.

No I don't have any touch issues. But my post may have been prophetic. Yesterday, my mobile data stopped working for no apparent reason. All of the usual suspects are properly set and on still, so it is definitely a hardware issue. I have no data unless I am connected through a WIFI AP. Really sucks since I cannot access the WIFI at my job with personal devices. And the company laptop is so restricted I can't really get any personal business done on my break times.
Bottom line - I ordered a Moto G 4th gen yesterday evening. Hopefully it will serve me as well as did the 2nd gen. I really gave it a thorough run for the two years I had it. We'll see how it compares.
Touch issues happen only if you have glass protecting screen on some ROMs but if you have i recommend cm13 and if you need more personalization put xposed and thats all
