D415 root needed Towel root not supported - LG Optimus L90

Hi everyone,
just tried to root my Tmobile USA, D415. however it says device is not supported. Did lolipop break root via this method? Any alternative methods?
While I am reading all the threads on how to do this, I want to make sure I'm not blindly using an outdated method. A pointer would be greatly appreciated.
Also, which method of installing a custom room would you guys recommend for installing a custom recovery?
I will continue to read for possible solution.
Thank you in advance

Help unrooting

I know there are a lot of the unroot posts in here, but am wondering what one is best to use? I see a lot of people running into a problem registering after they unroot, I don't want to run into that problem, so what unroot method should I do?
What's the firmware version on your device?

[Q] New to Roms/Rooting ML2 Question

I used to have root prior to the update and it is gone now (obviously). I am wondering is it possible to flash a different Rom onto the phone to regain root access sort of like downgrading? Or is that not possible anymore either? I have looked for the answer to this but couldn't find anything. If it is possible is there a way to get cyanogenmod on there and would it be done using odin?

The locked bootloader means no custom recovery and no flashing of files that aren't signed by Samsung. With the new ML2 bootloader you cannot downgrade to any other firmware. Without root you cannot use SafeStrap either. Basically if you're on ML2 you are stuck and can't do anything.
If you're willing please help us find a way to achieve root on ML2. Check this thread for updates.

Help rooting?

Hello all,
Im totally confused as to how to go about rooting my device c6902. Ive owned a couple of android devices and Ive rooted them all, however....with this device and there seem to be different ways people have rooted from reading the threads and im totally confused, So far I have unlocked the bootloader, and upgraded the device OTA to lollipop .242 (before the bootloader was unlocked), I dont intend installing any custom firmware, just want root so I can use TB and maybe delete a few bloatwares with root explorer and use xposed.
Im confused as to whether:
1. I have to downgrade firmware to kitkat, just to get root, then upgrade back to official firmware?
2. Ive been under the impression that a custom recovery and supersu, is enough to get root. It doesnt work that way on this device?
3. I saw some oneclick root programs that worked on the z1 compact would any work here
Just trying to know more about the phone and understand, so any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Using the guide on the link I just posted, you are not required to unlock the bootloader, unlocking the bootloader without backing up the TA partition can cause problems with your phone.
You need to downgrade to KitKat 4.4.4 with kernel 108, then root it with easyroot install supersu and rootchecker to make sure your phone is rooted, the use NUTs recovery to create a recovery partition, after that search XDA forums for a pre-rooted lollipop flashable zip and install that, and voila you should be on lollipop with root and recovery.
I am not sure about one-click root programs.

Thanks for your help.
I already unlocked the bootloader though. Do I need to downgrade the whole kitkat rom or flash just the kernel? thanks
Figured out. Thanks

[Q] z1s (c6916) 5.02 root?

Just wondering if anyone has been able to root this or has even tried any methods?
I have personally confirmed that we will loose root if upgraded, and will have to downgrade just to re-root again.
I have yet to try and use anything but the typical 1-clicks and short answer is no they didn't work.
Anyone have any other ideas on starting points?

You may unlock the bootloader to flash a custom kernel with in-built recovery and then flash the SU from recovery
After that you are able to flash the stock kernel again if you didnt mind using a custom kernel

How to root (D5803) on Android 5.1.1 (23.4.A.1.200) without unlocking the bootloader?

Hey guys, the title sais it all!
I have some expirience with flashing roms and custom recoveries and rooting, but on Samsung phones its SO much easier then on Sony. I read through some stuff with flashboot and ADB and what not and I don't really get it. All the ''step by step'' guides are not step by step, their using terms that a normal person wouldn't understand. So I was just wondering if anyone here knew the easiest way to root my Z3 compact running on the latest firmware, without unlocking the bootloader?

Downgrade the firmware, as the root exploit only works with older firmware such as 23.0.A.2.93.

Long story short, you can't root using the latest firmware. Follow the guide to root.
