Rear camera doesn't work. 5.1 no root. - Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo Q&A, Help & Troublesh

My rear camera was working last night and this afternoon it(Motorola Stock Camera) suddenly started telling me to restart the camera while Google Camera says that it can't connect to the camera. It's weird because I haven't dropped or treated the phone roughly lately and there haven't been any updates that would effect it.
Since the problem started I've done multiple restarts and completely wiped the device. The problem continues to persist. By experimenting with other camera apps I was able to figure out that the front facing camera still works fine. I'm worried that it is a hardware issue.

Mine just went out today. Mine happens to be an Asurion refurb. Anyone have any insight to this problem?

Need new camera module

I am 99.99% it is the module that is bad. It was stock when it started. At first it would only allow me to take pics occasionally, with the other times the camera just didn't work. It turning into the camera not working period. I based it. Still had the problems. Flashed to CM7, still the same problem. Dropped the camera while running (had an Otterbox on it so the phone itself wasn't damaged, just got a solid bump) the camera worked for a few days. Then it stopped again. Loose connection I think. Dissasemble, seat everything, reassemble, nothing. I am thinking it is module since everything else still works. Pic to make clear what I want.

[Q] Can't connect to camera

Hi, I couldn't find anything about this problem in google, I think it's most likely a hardware failure, but I'd love some suggestions.
A couple of weeks ago the camera app started hanging randomly. I downloaded the Google camera and when it happens it says it cannot connect to the camera, it doesn't happen all the time, just when I really want to take a picture (curse you Murphy!)
I'm on 4.4.3, and the phone is from October or so, so I can't rma it.

N6 camera Auto focus broken

My N6 worked fine till yesterday.. i wanted to take a video but it seems to be blurry an kind of vibrating. There is also an weird klicking sound coming out of the camera every time the rear camera is focusing. Cant take no more sharp vidos and pictures:crying:
I tried different camera apps from the play store and i wiped my device and did a clean flash this morning..the issue is still there.
I think the auto focus is mechanicly broken.. Got to send it to motorola

Both cameras and Flash doesn't work after drop

Hello everyone, I'd like to say thanks for checking out my thread :good:
About a week ago, I dropped my phone into a ceramic floor with the back facing down. The drop sounded loud however the phone looks intact.
A few checks later, I can confirm the phone is OK, except for both cameras and the flash.
The back camera doesn't work (the Camera app just crashes, Diagnostic shows Camera Not Connected), the front camera doesn't display anything (Diagnostic shows completely black picture) and the flash does not turn on.
I'm currently sourcing parts for testing, but I'm wondering if it's possible that the software may be the cause as well?
Although the phone didn't restart (it still worked fine, minutes before it dropped) I wanted to make sure.
Also, as a double check, I tried OpenCamera and it shows black. There's no "switch camera" option so I think it's showing the front camera.
Once again, thank you for checking my thread
Your motherboard is toast. I have a Z2 with water damage. At first it seemed like the camera module got damaged, but on closer inspection, it has the same problem as your Z3+, all things camera related stopped working. There's no easy fix, you either re-ball whatever chips got loose or replace the motherboard.
Maybe you need to replace only the camera, because I had approximately same problem
I had the same problem, it was enough to replace the camera module for me.
hi I know this is old thread but I just have the same problem, have you fix this?
replace the back camera will solve this problem or must replace both front and back camera?

main camera blurr

Hi,
After the first 2020 ota update the camera started to get blurred and now is completely useless.
So i looked at the changelog and the update "fixed" something related to QRcode reading. So they must have messed something up.
Anyone knows anything about it?
Model: ZE620KL 128gb rom, updated to latest firmware, rooted with magisk and with twrp.
Thanks.
Additionally, wide camera works fine so far. But still it is strange that sometimes the main camera works and right after few minutes it gets all blurr again.
Hello, I have the same problem. It looks like the update killed a part of the camera. Your OIS is broken now. You can either replace your camera (around $10) or, as I did it, you can try to tap on the camera module. It may fix it temporary. A little bump could also work.
I am having a similar issue. Autofocus works fine for images close to the camera. Seems to be related to the QR code update mentioned by @Gyplay.
My phone has been serviced 3 times during warranty (free). It just died 20 days after receiving it. Then, around its 4th month of life it stopped holding charge. Around it's 10th month it just died again. No falls, not a single scratch and no liquid spills...
Now I have been living with this issue with the camera for almost a year...
Never had issues with any of my previous phones...
Perhaps I was unlucky, but will never buy an asus phone again.
