Changelog CyanogenMod:
CM12.1 changes
FAQ/Solutions:
Root: To enable root access, activate developer options and go to settings>developer options>root access and set it to 'apps only' or 'apps and adb'.
Recovery: Cyanogenmod 12.1 comes with Cyanogen Recovery by default. But this rom supports booting isorec twrp recovery. Flash twrp isorec recovery to recovery partition. Rom will use then twrp as prefered recovery and ignore default recovery. Follow flash instructions for i9100g isorec twrp recovery to install twrp isorec recovery. If your recovery is not working, enter 'download mode' and flash a new recovery via odin, for example TWRP 2.8.7.0.
GApps: If you have problems flashing gapps or force closing google play services, do a clean flash and use recommended Open GApps 20150821 or pa-gapps for android 5.1 from download link above.
Audio/Video synchronisation: Update to latest build and deactivate AudioFX when you experience audio not in sync with video
Optimisations:
Low app space: If you are low on app data storage, think about repartitioning your phone storage. 4 to 6 gb should be sufficient even for many apps. Follow instructions in this thread. Alternatively use Lanchon Repit Tool.
Battery: Display and data connections/syncing use most energy. I suggest to reduce display brightness to a minimum and switch off adaptive brightness. Also switch off background data connections/syncing for apps you don't use or which will be updated when you really use it.
After first flash give phone some extra time to complete all tasks, even when it's reacting already to your inputs, it's working hard. Wait some minutes. It's also a good idea to do another reboot after some time. This solved some problems in the past.
Force closes: If you are experiencing force closes try first to clean cache/dalvik cache with recovery. If it's still not working, go to settings/apps, find the offending app and clear data. Still not the solution? Then do a clean flash with factory reset.
Known (minor) problems:
Activating flashlight with quicksetting-icon (-> use another flashlight app and (optionally) replace lockscreen app for quick access). Or upgrade to cm13.
Manual selection of phone network -> use automatic network selection

thank you for rom. I will try today. a

Downloading, will flash in a flash

for what it have a lof of bugs
Known problems/errors:
- home button not working as expected
- High cpu usage/battery drain caused by 'system_server' process
Did not find a reason for it. It's not active all the time. Sometimes, when it's inactive, telefon goes to deep sleep and all is normal. But when it's active, cpu state is at 1,2 GHz for long, long time, without stop. Who can debug/analyze this process or provide information how to fix it?
cpu state is at 1,2 GHz for long, long time, =not battery friendly

Download was updated to 20150824:
- home button setting changed (working now?)
- selinux settings changed

Try this guys.
Go to /system/usr/keylayout/sec_key.kl.
The last row which is HOME WAKE with key 102, try change it to key 172.

I changed keylayout and home-button is working now. Wakeup, close apps, app history. Thank you, Diatomix for this useful hint!
Auto-rotation is also working now.
Build of new ROM is in progress. I will upload it in some minutes.

[Q] Keyboard disappearing with the latest gapps

Hello,
I just installed the latest cyanogen rom (cm-10.1-20130113-NIGHTLY-p990.zip), everything was working fine. Then I installed the latest gapps (gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip) to get gesture typing, which causes this problem: when I write in an empty input, if I press one letter or after the second word wrote with gesture typing, the keyboard disappears for 5 seconds, then everything works fine.
I did a factory reset, format /system and dalvik cache, but the problem is still here.
Someone has also this bug?

Ok, it was a while when you posted in this theme, but I have the same problem with Swift Key. I'm using Paranoid Android latest build.

Does this have anything to do with the gapps? What gapps are you using? I think the right ones for Paranoid Android are gapps-jb-20121011. But I think that SwiftKey should work anyway. Is everything ok in "Language & input" in the settings?

I used to use those, but now I tried Aroma Multipack by tantrums after full wipe and it's still the same... In Language & input I see only Swift Key and I can only go to Swift Key settings from there.

"Instructions:
Coming from another ROM:
Make sure everything is set up properly (correct CWM for your bootloader etc.)
No need for a full wipe you're coming either from a official CM10 old bl or from a CM10 new bl ROM.
Any other ROM: Do a full wipe! Apperantly even needed if you come from CM10.1.
Just do the wipe, you will be thankful afterwards when everything does run better.
Format /system
Choose the correct ROM for your bootloader
Flash ROM + Gapps
Flash the latest kowalski kernel!
Reboot
Don't restore system apps (like Settings) or system data (like Wifi data) with TitaniumBackup!
You'll find a new Settings entry "Paranoid Settings" - to get a first impression of PA choose "Launch" and then "tonyp's profile".
If you want to use adb in recovery, here are my modded adb drivers for ICS.
Updating from a previous version:
Backup your PA Settings (at Settings - Paranoid Settings - Tools)
Download new build
Flash ROM (you don't need to do a full wipe - or any other wipes)
Flash the latest kowalski kernel!
Reboot
done"
You did everything as tonyp said??

N-7000 always messes up after flashing rom

Hi Guys!
Okay, so I have a problem here. Everytime, I try to flash a rom onto my Galaxy Note, it either gets stuck in a bootloop or most functions don't work (quick functions, WiFi, home button etc.) This is starting to get pretty annoying as I hate stock android and love CyanogenMod. I even tried the new CyanogenMod quick install using the computer client and android app.
I'm not sure if you need to know this but I am running CyanogenMod 10.2 (not fully functioning as problems above occur).
Andoird Version:- 4.3.1
Baseband Version:- N7000XXLT3
Kernel Version:- 3.0.64-CM-gd6f2f4a
Build Number:- cm_n7000-uderdebug 4.3.1 JLS361 28760a496f dev-keys
How do I fix this guys? Really need a solution!
Thanks in advance,
Rohan
sometimes repeated hard reboot (5-6 times) helps till ROM is properly setup.

Cheers man i'll try this and get back to you
Between each flash of a new ROM you should perform a full wipe before flashing in recovery:
in mounts and storage:
-format /system
-format /preload
-format /data
also you can format cache and dalvik cache(in advanced I believe).
-flash zip (or stock ROM with odin)
-flash gapps if needed
If you don't do those wipes then you will have many bugs, performance issues, battery issues, bootloops, random reboots etc.

[Q] exhibit 2 4g hangs on incoming call

Dear all,
i have an old samsung galaxy exhibit 2 4g and decided to install a custom rom. i used below mentioned link for the ROMs.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_Exhibit_4G
i have tried majority of the ROMs after v4 but all of them are giving me same problem
Phone hangs on incoming call and only vibrates no sound. and i have to ultimately pull the battery out.
the issue is not observed on stock ROM.
It is also not observed on REMICS 3.0.1 but only if i disable backup and restore option. disabled this option on other custom rom as well but did not fix the issue on other ROMs.
I would appreciate any help.

sorry late on this. which cwm or twrp version are you using? jfbs twrp 2.7.1.0 or cwm 6.0.4.8 is the latest which is need on kk roms also cars1198 has cwm6.0.4.9. picking one of these 3 is user preference. for kk roms lastest slimbean 7/7build and dcm 6/20 by jfbs is stable and for cm11 cars1198 6/19 build is pretty stable. any of these 3 should work just fine without any issues with latest recoveries. if you dont know how its just like flashing a rom except when you reboot you want to reboot boot back into recovery then do a fresh install. also on a complete fresh install what ever is on on your internal sdcard that you want to keep move it to external sd or pc. then format /system /data /cache /android secure and /sdcard0. then install rom only, reboot and wait for it to fully boot up. then reboot back into recovery and install gapps. then wipe dalvik-cache and reboot. after you sign into gplay give the phone time to sync your contacts and so forth which will bog down the phone for 1-30mins or longer depending how much needs to be sync. after that you should be ready to go with no or very minor issues. in which you would ask in the appropriate rom op.

thanks for the reply.
I am using cwm v6.0.1.2.
What i get from your reply is that
flash the latest recovery, reboot in to recovery again
flash your suggested ROM, fresh install
boot in to the OS
boot again in to recovery and install gapps
boot the phone and give it a couple of hours to sych data and update if any and then see if its working or not.
i will give it a try and will let you know. btw i was not facing any issues on any other roms except the mentioned issue and all the roms were running pretty fast.

everyones had different issues using older recoveries. cwm 6.0.4.4-5 works for anything jb or below. the higher ones are for kk roms which is the most recent and both cars and jfbs kk roms are better then aoip or any of the other roms. Since ion hybrid thanks to adc team and more stable kk roms are out now. imo any of cars is cm roms are good for the everyday people while jfbs slim and dcm are geared more to those who want more features and customization (advance users). i always test both devs roms but personally i like jfbs roms better as far as what i do but any of the 3 are stable for everyday use now. but ya let me know if that helped out.

tried cynanogen1, worked smoothly but did not fix the issue
slimkat 4.4.4, faced FC every second. it was almost impossible to even boot the phone.
first i thought there is some hardware issue but the phone is working fine on 2 roms so i guess thats out of the question. let me know if you could suggest something else.

which cwm or twrp version did you use. I too was facing the fc's on my phone for a while but after using twrp 3.7.1.0 or cwm 6.0.4.8 i dont have that issue anymore. my personal exact order including mods i use.
1. flash twrp 3.7.1.0 < if you already have this or cwm 6.0.4.8 already
2. Format /system then /cache, then /data/ then /internal sd < so everything except /boot and /external sd
3. flash rom < if doing cm11 you can flash oc kernel right after
4. flash supersu < optional its the same as stock superuser but little more options like allow su on boot (on xda)
5. wipe davlik cache and reboot system
6. reboot boot back into recovery
7. flash gapps < if slim get it from slimroms, if dcm or cm11 the gapps from cars1189 mass cm build 1-5-14.
8. flash malive booster < (on xda)
9. wipe dalvik cache and reboot system
10. once full loaded back in install seeder 2.0 (on xda) have a check mark on all 3 with light profile then enable.
11. then finish signing in google account and updating apps. 30mins later its smooth as butter.

you are the MAN man. from your instructions i deduced that i was not wiping davlik cache after flashing but before. now every rom is working fine, no issue is observed. thanks
Since you know your stuff could you let me know which rom is the best in terms of performance and battery life?
thanks again

Stock wise Slim has better performance over cm11 with slightly less bettery life. to get the best performance to battery life follow my oc guide i posted. you want to keep the voltage equal to or less then stock voltage while having the highest frequency as possible. the lower voltage from stock the higher battery life over stock will be. if you do plan on overclocking and undervolting your self make sure you read my oc entirely before attemping. the oc guide methodology is the same for anything that can overclock including desktop cpus, gpus, and yes some nics. some routers as long as it can support a 3rd party firmware such as ddwrt or openwrt. other phones that have oc and voltage control support. you may also get some extra performance and battery saving by trying different build.prop tweaks or mods or any of the combination. some may help you and not me and vise versa and some may help everyone. its more about find what works best for you for what you do.

@cbolumar Awesome!!!
You are back with a vengeance. Wanna Thank You for sharing your awesome roms. Please continue in the future.
All my tablets can run TWRP. But I am guessing for those on newer FW this Rom should be fully flashable with FlashFire v32 like the RR Rom ?
Also, what are the Gapps you recommend for both your Roms. NANO ?
AICP doesn't advertise its features as well as RR but it sure looks like another Awesome AIO Rom....

Giving this a spin...
Been on Resurrection for months and been loving that.
Thanks for your awesome contributions!!!

I always use OpenGapps Arm 5.1 Nano without any problems. Are you doing the recommended wipes before installing the Rom, Gapps & SuperSU ?
Flashed over resurrection remix without wiping data.. Infinite boot
Edit: Re flashed now.. with a Data Wipe Rom is working: In my case Data wipe needed from resurrection remix
No play store
I have installed this and it seems to be running great. I have been running resurrection remix since January and love it.
I seem to be having the same problem as another user with this install and play store doesn't seem to work with the installation.
I am installing with flashfire since I had the fire 5.1.1 update installed and the sequence I installed it is:
wipe
ROM install
SuperSU
GAPPS pico ARM 5.1
I didn't have a problem with the RR install and did it exactly like that and it worked fine. I even tried installing play services and then play store manually and when I do this then play services keeps crashing.
Edit:
So I got this going and soft bricked it in the process, however, was able to recover. I tried flashing this multiple times and was having problems with Play Store not installing even though it was being flashed after the ROM and before SuperSU. I then was caught in a bootloop that would get as far as the boot logo and that was it. I tried to sideload official firmware and couldn't get into device while in recovery. I then on a whim while in recovery clicked on erase/restore device and it restored back to ResurrectionRemix.
From there I used FlashFire again to flash AICP and still no Play Store. So here is how I got Play Store in by flashing again with FlashFire. When I added in the ROM, GAPPS, and SuperSU, instead of click on "mount," I instead left the default "read/write mount," (or whatever it was) checked and it worked. I now have Play Store and was able to restore all my apps and settings with Titanium backup.
I now have a question about Trebucet launcher and changing something. In Resurrection Remix the all the Drawer could either be set to scroll horizontal or vertical. I prefer vertical and have never like horizontal scrolling for apps; just my personal choice. Is there a way in AICP to change this for vertical scrolling, I am not afraid to modify scripts if need be.
if i forgot to root before flashing do i have to go back to stock and do everything all over again.. my fire was 5.1.2 so i cant use twrp

Rom shouldn't matter. Try using the same method you did with fire OS. (If you forgot to root, that is. ?)

You could not flash if not previously rooted. But that's irrelevant with a custom rom installed which should already be rooted. You're probably just missing a root manager. Try installing SuperSU; suggest v2.65.
yea i tried both methods, rooting using the supertool and installing supersu but some error comes up saying "binaries cant be installed".. so i sideloaded back to stock rerooted reflashed reeverything but its cool.. i know better now
I love this ROM but was unsuccessful in getting gapps to work properly. So I wiped and flashed Fire Nexus ROM with play store. Installed flashfire and 'dirty flashed' just wiping system data, cache, dalvik cache and then flashing AICP ROM, gapps pico nano. It seemed to have worked... on the optimizing screen it listed the apps I had before the flash. It booted up and then I got stuck at the 'checking connection' screen after picking my wifi.
I'm guessing this has something to do with me not doing a full wipe before flashing but I'm not sure. Any thoughts, suggestions? I'm leaning toward just wiping and reflashing again...
Had the same problem to start

My guess is you need to do a full wipe from Nexus. In the OP he says you don't have to from ResurrectionRemix and I'm assuming this is because the two ROMs are similar. I ran into a problem going from RR to AICP and was stuck at the boot logo. I ended up going into recovery and clicking on wipe/restore. This put me back where I was in RR rom and then reflashed AICP.
I also had problems with play store installing at first. I ended up ADB pushing the updated FlashFire onto my fire and installing it. Then When I flashed AICP I left the default option checked for installing zip, mount read/write, is what I believe it was. After flashing it with those options play store finally worked.
I explained this same problem in my first post.

Yep - that usually does it. Be sure to use the latest version of FlashFire (currently 0.50), full wipe on top (system, user apps/data, dalvik) and don't futz with default flash (zip) options. Recommend flashing just rom first, boot/stabilize, sideload FF and then flash a modest GAaps package (eg: nano). Good luck.
Which version of CyanogenMod is this ROM based off of?
I have had problems with different themes crashing on reboot and having to restore system.

If it stays in the Samsung text, you have done the wrong installation. Improper cleaning causes it to not open. Press and hold the power button for 7 seconds when it stays on Samsung text. Just before it will turn off and turn on, enter recovery mode by pressing the power button and the volume up button again. Format data from the wipe button. Then put it in dowload mode to dump your original software. After removing the software, delete the data from the recovery mode and start the device without turning on the device. The problem will be fixed. If you don't know the details, don't install the rom for your own sake.
It says that rom is corrupted whenever I try to install it, ( Zip file is corrupt! Error installing zip file).
I tried redownloading the rom again but without any luck
Any ideas?
Có ai ở đây có link camera ổn định không. Tôi thật sự cần chúng. Cảm ơn
Translated by GT: Does anyone here have a stable camera link. I really need them. Thanks
Hello
Is this rom has Google apps or we need to install Gaap? And does it have Galaxy store?
And if it has Google play store, can we download apps easily from it?
