Awesome! Surprised that xda hasn't made a section for Tab S2 yet. You've rooted almost all the samsung tablets so far ?

They should just make it a subsection of this forum.

Wow,,,, Thanks..!!

Nice to have root before holding my tablet
and yes, they should make a new section for the S2.
Problem is that more and more topics of the S2 will show up and they will pollute the S1 forums.

I don't see a problem combining the tab s2 and tab s forums as long as people make it clear which model they have.
They are still basically the same tablet.
Its the same at other forums on xda.

All samsung tablets are basically the same

You could say that for almost every device, but I'd personally much rather have a separate forum for it. But that's just me. I'm sure it'll be a while before we get roms anyway.

Shouldn't be an issue. But post back with results.

I tried the cf_autoroot T710 on the latest 5.1.1, but it goes into a boot loop right after the Odin flash and restart:
"RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING" - and I can just get into Download mode.
Any ideas?

we have to wait for xAshy to confirm if we could use CF-auto root 5.02 to use on 5.1.1.

Yes, I DID see the post above, that's why I tested it on 5.1.1.

LP 5.1.1 has much stronger security policies and this is probably the issue.
Can you send me the recovery.img from the firmware you are using?
The workaround is to downgrade to LP 5.0.2 with odin.
Root, then flash the LP update with FLASHFIRE.

[Q] How do I root my Telstra Galaxy Note GT-N7000B?

G'day all.
I've been searching, and I'm unsure on what to use to root my Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000B (Telstra). It's a slightly different model number, and I just want to know is there a way to root the thing and install CWM without bringing up a triangle and increasing the counter? I already purchased MobileOdin btw.
Model: GT-N7000B
Firmware: GINGERBREAD.DVLC1
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-N7000BDVLC1-CL1006149 [email protected] #2
Baseband: N7000BDVLB2
Thanks
Have you tries superoneclick, rooting will remove the Telstra ****

Nope, no go, it's not directly rootable. Has anyone rooted an N7000B?
Why would you want to root it, that's what your wife or gf is for. jokes aside let me know how you go I just got mine on Tuesday and am yet to root it .
Well I am not sure if anyone has tried an N7000 rom on an N7000B. I didn't want to end up with a shiny new brick, thats why I asked here. I already have done a search and all I got was vague answers. Has anyone successfully flashed/gained root access on an N7000B?

I'm sure it would be fine. I am running ics on my N7000 but shows as I9220 in baseband as it's based on Chinese leak ROM with same hardware.

I would also like to know this. My phone is exactly as above (also from telstra au)
...I dont really care about the yellow triangle or counter though(I can sort that out later when there is more support for this model)
I would like to be sure that the process will not brick the phone, this would suck as its only 2 days old .
best if I know that someone else has done it first
thanks.
The n7000b is just a firmware. you can flash another firmware (and it will not brick your phone). the only down side to this is you won't be able to go on the telstra mobile websites, eg. mobile foxtel,
Anyone brave enough to try to root this one?
I just got my note today and would really like root access....
bump
I'm interested in seeing how this goes as well. The itch to root and flash something better than Telstra's rubbish is growing but I am nervous about the process (it seems vastly different to my old Desire).
I find the stock rom not too bad.. GREAT battery life, the only thing I want root for is to record my calls (use it for work).
I have a call recorder installed on my stock Note that doesn't require root. Got it off the market too.
It's called Call Recorder.....

Anyone done this yet?
I tried the call recorder apps off the Market but none seem to record properly, they just use the speaker.
My note originally from Poland (!) bought via UK back in early November (can't believe I've had my wonderful toy for over six months now!) Given that there were very few Notes back then and next to none in Oz, I was very nervous about rooting and flashing - the challenge you are facing today. I spend many days reading nearly all the threads before biting the bullet and doing my first root!
All I can recommend you do is read Dr Ketan's flashing guide very carefully and make sure you have a backup. I've had a few nervous moments with black screen but always been able to recover by rebooting into recovery and restoring a backup. I'm on Telstra and never had a problem with any firmware I've used (I don't using Telstra Foxtel)
I know that the latest version requires you to flash an older version of ROM before you can root, but once done you can remove all the annoying rubbish and use great programs like Titanium backup to backup and restore the apps you want and freeze the CPU hogs!
I hope that helps you - my experience was different and I felt very alone the first few times I flashed (never having done it before) but the forums have been a godsend in helping.
PS I have never used Mobile Odin - I have found that CWM does all I need it to
So if the WiFi freezes on the N7000B, would it use a different WiFi chip or something? I did hear that the N7000B supports 5GHz and 2.4GHz where the N7000 supports 2.4 only. Not sure if this is true
Hi, I've had the n7000B for awhile now. and flashed most of the firmwares from n7000 model with no problems. been on GB, ICS. all spec about these models are the same. but still haven't found out why this is B on our model.
anyway it is safe to flash n7000 on n7000b!

[GT-I9505G][Leaked Firmware] I9505GUEUBMFP (4.3) - U.S.A (XAR) [28-06-13

Earlier this week, Google announced the Google Play Edition of the Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505G). Yesterday, we received a HUGE tip in our mailbox. So first of all, Special thanks to this secret tipper. The Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition is exactly the same device as the standard Galaxy S4 at the hardware level. The big difference is of course Google's own Android Interface! Today we proudly present you the first firmware for the Galaxy S4 Google Edition. With this firmware developers could create easy custom roms for the Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505). Our firmware is completely STOCK which means we didn't change anything! This firmware is based on Android 4.3! Google still needs to announce Android 4.3 but we expect this Android version to be unveiled by Google, soon. Android 4.3 is a minor update from Android 4.2.2.
Do NOT flash this firmware on your Galaxy S4!
Our advice is not to flash this firmware on your standard Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505/GT-I9500) as you might brick your device. Please check forums like xda-developers.com first. We tried to flash the firmware on our own Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505), but you simply can't flash your Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505) through odin as the bootloader won't let you. This is the reason why we made a CUSTOM ROM for all GT-I9505 users. For now, this firmware is only a gift for developers!
We hope all Galaxy S4 developers are happy with our gift. Enjoy!
REMEMBER DO NOT FLASH YOUR GALAXY S4 (GT-I9505/GT-I9500) WITH THIS FIRMWARE!

root and change recovery without changing KNOX-counter?

Hi,
I am considering to buy a S5 mini - but I would like to use custom ROMs and root. Now I read that the S5 useses KNOX and that there is also a KNOX-counter (seems to be 2 different things).
Is there a way to get root without changing the KNOX-counter?
And - is there also a way to get a custom recovery without changing the KNOX-counter?
(this are 2 different questions and I would love to get an answer for both seperately ...)
It seems like there is no method to get the KNOX counter back from 0x1 but there seems to be a method to get - at least root - without changing the KNOX-counter.
I had been searching around quite a bit but could not really find a definitve answer - plus: I am not a native speaker but consider my english as quite good - but the phrase: "trip KNOX-counter" which is often used in this context (e. g. here) confuses me (checking trip in a dictionary gives you just some funny results) - I assume it means the counter is changed (i. e. ++1)?
regards
at this moment there is no way to get the s5 flashed without void break in the KNOX-counter.

ofcourse s5 mini, and yea, flashin a root kernel and custom recovery will touch the knox counter
Kingroot seems to not trigger Knox on the mobiles i have tried(S3 and S4-I9505 and S4-I9506) and (LG Leon), atm i am waiting for s5 mini to arrive and i will test it.
I got a trick to flash recovery without knox counter trip on the other mobiles too which i will try on s5 mini also, i will report back tommorow or the day after.
Try Kingroot at your own risk as always, through it is only root and not recovery too.

I think the list of supported phones lists G800 for the stock KitKat 4.4.2 ROM only, it doesn't work on 5.1.1.
sm-g800f kingroot works without trip knox, my knox is still 0x0, but i cannot get recovery on the same way as the older galaxy with Rashr or Flashify.

Hi I'm quite new too in the note 5 section and just got a used mint one because my N6 broke down.
Anyways, you can just do an odin flash for your said model (+ if it's a carrier model, be sure to check too).
If you want a custom rom, you just too just flash TWRP on top of you current rom then flash what ever custom rom you want. I'm currently on XStock V2 going as a daily driver
any have a firmware SM-N920S for delete account samsung note 5
please share link or firmware
Here is the official 7.0 firmware for the N920S.
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-note5/SM-N920S/
Flash with Odin in download mode.
Just get it downloaded for now. I/someone can elaborate on the instructions once you've acquired the rom. The download time is quite long.

Help Downgrade G920A Nougat 7.0 (G920AUCU6EQCF)

Friends, colleagues and colleagues.
I hope you can help me in the next problem. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Flat G920A from AT & T. I updated it via ADB to Nougat 7.0, but the truth is that it gives me little performance in screen usage, it would be as long as 3 hours, so I want to downgrade it, I remember when I updated Nougat I had to find the official AT & T ROM Stock that Was compatible to be able to update ie download the ROM that mentioned my previous BASEBAND followed by TO and then named the new BASEBAND.
It was something like that.
ANCIENT BASEBAND? TO G920AUCU6EQCF.
Now my question is the following as I can know which file I should flasehar on my G920A to return to MARSHMALLOW ask because I do not want to cause a softbrick or hardbrick to my device.
