"Ok Google" not working - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

"Ok Google" Voice command stopped working in my Moto X 2014
It didn't work "from any screen" before but now it doesn't work at all, in the home page or with the app open. I try to retrain the voice but it says "Can't use the microphone. Restart your device", which I did many times but still doesn't work. Which is strange because the microphone is working.
I've reinstalled the Google app and cleared it's cache but still doesn't fix it.
This is a bug that as happened to my Nexus 7 2012 before and I couldn't fix it. I think it's a problem with the app itself.

[Q] LG P880: Problems with microphone and hotword detection in OMNIRom

Hey guys,
I'm having this issue since I have activated the "Hotword detection from any screen" option in the Google Search: what happens is that when I activate the option related above, the microphone stops working for everything, it just works for "Ok Google" and everything you say to it, but it kills the microphone for everything else. I just realized that I was having that issue when I made a phone call and no one who I called could hear me... then I tried to send a Whatsapp voice message but it didn't recognize any word I said to it... Then I thought it was the "OK Google" option, so I deactivated for any screen and the microphone started to work like always, phone calls, whatsapp voice messages, everything the microphone was needed, it also works only with the "OK Google" from Google Search app activated.
Maybe this could be helpful:
I use the gString app and when I try to tune my instrument and the hotword detection from any screen is activated it says: "Failed to properly initialize the microphone of your device; the tuner will now close. This usually happens, when another misbehaving app is still holding a lock on your microphone, although it has already been backgrounded."
The question is, Does anyone have the same problem?? Is there a solution for that issue? I am using the official OMNIRom nightlies, I have installed the last GAPPS from PA-GAPPS, and of course I have updated them as they required it. I really love that option, it's very helpful for me. I will appreciate any help you could give me.
Thank you guys.

[Q] Setting up OK Google to work from anyscreen

I'm trying to setup up Google voice so you can use the OK Google phrase from any screen but when I try an activate the setting and it prompts me to say OK Google three times it then comes up with an error message saying can't use the microphone. Restart your device (which makes no difference).
Does my phone have an issue or is Moto voice just preventing Google Voice from working?

Moto Voice has to be turned off in order for it to work.

I have the same problem... I notice that this started since I installed Xposed, maybe is related somehow. Also if I force close Google Search the voice commands just turn off.
same here, lollipop stock with EU firmware, no root. Seems like this beahviour is following the latest and recent Moto app update.
Didn't enabled Ok Google Hotword anyway.

Nexus 6 peculiar behavior

My Nexus 6 phone insist on changing the "OK Google" detection from Off to Always On. No matter how many times I disconnect that feature, it changes to ON by itself, usually the next day.
Furthermore, as soon as I say "OK", not even "OK Google" it activates voice search.
Anyone else? Any known solution?

Google voice recognition not working?

Hi,
I've been using P20 pro for a couple months now. Something I've not figured out how to do is make it so ok Google only activates when I say it. Several times when I'm watching a video regarding OK Google or a friend says "OK Google" my voice assistant activates. I was previously able to train my voice on my old Samsung. I've gone through the settings tried training it but still anyone can activate my Google assistant and it's getting a bit annoying. Is there any fix to this problem. I would really like to use my Google mini home as well.
THANK you!

For unlocking the device it recognizes only enrolled voice. After unlock it will detect any voice.
