Which TWRP on XT1072 / cm-12.1 installations fails - Moto G 2014 LTE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I have bought a Motorola "Moto G (2. Generation) mit 4G LTE" (should be Thea Model XT1072) and try to install CM12.1
Device is already unlocked.
I tried to install different TWRPs but when I start "recovery" from bootloader I see an andoid-icon on the screen...
only the Image from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-lte/general/rooting-moto-g-2015-lte-xt1078-t3086069) started the TWRP
but when I tried to install CM I receive foloowing error message:
"This package is for device: thea, thea_umtsds, thea_ds, XT1072, XT1078, XT1079; this device is titan_umtsds"
What's wrong? Who can help?
Best regards,
Sven

Wrong recovery, flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...recovery-twrp-2-8-6-0-touch-recovery-t3088800

i am having XT1068 and i've flashed XT1069 frimware and updated it to Lollipop, now signal, data, everything working perfect except dailler when i tried to call with dial-pad and press call button shows the error message "Unfortunately Dailler has Stopped"
what will be the reason?? is there any solution for this?!
here is the link which i followed to flash MOTO G XT1068 Andoid L [ 5.0 ] Updater + Rooter
here is the error message screenshot

(i don't have privilege to attach the file)
Thanks in advance
I had a problem like this but in KK. I also could not make a call and had a dailler error.
tried everything nothing worked.
so I did a reset.
have you tried this?
https://motorola-global-portal.cust...wer_detail/a_id/99825/p/30,6720,9151/kw/reset
After reset all good, don't know what caused the problem but it fix...
Remember factory reset erases everything that is on the phone. Will be like when you first turn it on, after buy it.
The OS remain the same, if is on L will stay on L.

Hey there,
My friend, the guide you followed flashed the Lollipop update for XT1064 firmware (update-nofsg-working.zip) which doesn't support the Dual Sim Selector Activity. Therefore when you try to use dual-sim, the dialer stops.
If you are having the XT1069 firmware lying around, then Re-flash it and follow this guide, this guide will ensure complete functionality (except the DTV of course ):

Why no way? Which TWRP version are you using?

It seems you are using fastboot, try using mfastboot v2. Download from here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4PT9WP-u_z9NXRBWF9EV2lGcWs/view?usp=sharing
Hope this helps!

Root on model XT1078 or CM ROM available?!

I tried root my xt1078 with "kingoroot" and "one click root" but i failed =( the main fact of having a recent phone model is why there are not many ROM's or modifications

On my xt1072 UK 4g model I flashed the 3g moto g twrp titan in fastboot and flashed SuperSU in twrp recovery and it worked fine, no problem at all. Assuming your boot loader unlocked.

Could you send some pictures of your ROM here? Could you provide as which SuperSU file used to "root"? I blocked my phone and forgot the unlock password, I had to format the "hard reset" and I ended up realizing that the phone comes with a type of CWM, or am I wrong? For there where I used the restoration had "wipe cache, wipe factory, from SD card update" There are various options like CWM ...

Bricked XT1072

Hi Guys,
I stupidly did not realise my device (XT1072) was a different slightly different model to the moto g 2014.
I unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP, then tried to install Cyanogenmod 12.1, this failed giving an error "Error executing updater binary in zip" Which I guess is due to it being a different model, right? After receiving this error I did some googling and found on a few sites that I should wipe data, system, cache & dalvik cache to resolve this. I did this and tried to flash it again, with the same error. Now my phone is stuck on the "warning bootloader unlocked screen" I can boot into fastboot mode, but is there any official Motorola images for my device anywhere? I have had a look online and cant find anything. :crying:
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Format system is completely wipe previous android version,
You need a custom ROM (I'm assuming you have custom recovery for your device model)
Or fastboot a original image for you're device

Hi,
Thank you for your reply. I also tried with CWM_Touch_Titan_v2 recovery image. But when I tried to flash the stock rom RETGBALL_XT1072_5.0.2_LXB22.46-28_cid7_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml using mfastboot method, it shows on the phone screen "image too large".
As you have faced the same problem, would you be kind enough to give a step by step instruction to solve the issue. My phone is just stuck to unlocked bootloader warning screen for days.
My phone is Moto g XT1072 4G LTE.
Your help could save my days...
Thanks.

Why are u flashing an xml file? XML files are not rom files
The link provided above by mic_he has step by step instructions to restore phone back to stock
Your phone is not bricked. You deleted your system so there is no os to boot. The link should restore you back to stock

Thank you,
I have tried those instruction earlier. when I enter "mfastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img" is says "Bootloader preflash validation failed" and when I enter "mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0" onthe phone screen is says "Image too large". After going through all the steps when I reboot, it does not ever get past unlocked bootloader warning screen.
I really do not know which other option to try??

Unmounting system before flashing usually stops that problem. What I like to do is wipe data, system, cache & dalvik then reboot to recovery before flashing the rom.

could you solve the problem with the XT1072?
hello sir! could you solve the problem with thw XT1072? Can you give me some instructions? cheers
It works!!!!! I could restore my system back with these steps!
Here´s the info
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...e-restore-moto-e-2015-stock-firmware-t3054303
I followed the steps and when I was triyng to Flash each of the partitions in sequence using mfastboot get an error
I get an error with one of the files, (don´t remember now but I think was with the mfastboot flash logo logo.bin line
This give me an error, try to fix it and i couldn´t so I continue with the other files in the order listed and when the process was finished the phone was working again!!!!
Enter twrp recovery
Wipe system data cache dalvik
Put any rom like cm in microsd card or usb
And flash it using twrp

Hi, I have facing this problem too on my XT1063. My phone do boot to system but all the app are getting FCs, so I decided to flash another ROM like usual and All of this give me that "Error executing updater binary in zip", so I trie to wipe AND format all partition from TWRP and FASTBOOT with no success. Via Fastboot says: "File system type raw not supported." So I cant change to a new ROM, I cannot even flash other recovery....
So if you guys find a solution of this problem very users like me will be very thankful.

XT1039 Sideload Stock Failure!! Please Help!!

Hi guys,
I am trying to flash stock firmware to my Moto G 4G using TWRP v2.7.1.0. I am able to detect my device and serial in CMD when I type "adb devices". However, when I try to sideload stock firmware my phone aborts the process saying "no MD5 file found"
I have also tried installing the firmware through mfastboot and get various errors relating to HAB Checks and primary_gpt.
I have checked my phone and I am using CID7 firmware only.
I am pretty much a noob to all this.
If anyone has any suggestions on how I could get my Moto G back up and running I would be over the moon!
Thanks for taking the time to read.

Can not boot into recovery.

Dear everybody...first of all I am nube. Please forgive me if I've done something wrong. My moto g 2014 (xt 1068) is perfectly rooted and twrp ver. 2.7.0.1 was installed. I recently tried to update twrp 3.0.1 using flashify. After that I can not boot into recovery. Any chance to fix it ? Thanks in advance.
