[THEME][BOOTLOADER] Hacker bootloader theme for Shamu Nexus 6 - Nexus 6 Themes and Apps

Hi,
My project is to make the bootloader on the Nexus 6 a little bit more "entertaining".
The bootloader has now file names and a "hacking in progress" message. Also, it includes the new Google logo (2015 logo) and Fsociety logo for the true h4x0rs out there.
Installing the theme
Make sure ADB drivers are installed, and that you can run fastboot command
Then go to the download link and download the zip, unzip it, cd to the folder of the desired logo and do: fastboot flash logo [logo]-hacker-bootloader.bin
Then reboot to bootloader again
And check it out!

Preview images of the theme are found in the GitHub repo

Nice

Question
Can I using this bootloader theme to android final preview?

I dont think so...

Pretty cool! Is there a "factory" version available somewhere if I ever decide to revert the mod?

Flash the stock bootloader from a google factory image

These look awesome! Thanks for sharing!
I'm having a bit of an issue getting it to work, though. I have ADB and fastboot set up and fully functional on my laptop, but every time I try to flash one of the themes it gives me this error:
<bootloader> invalid boot image
FAILED <remote failure>
To be honest, I didn't follow the directions exactly as written. Instead of CD'ing into the folder I just moved the one I wanted into platform-tools, fired up command prompt, and entered my commands. I'm currently running the 71.10 bootloader (yes, it is unlocked).
Edit #2 - I took a closer loot at your pictures and it looks like you're using the 71.05 bootloader. I'm assuming that it's required for this to work?

Stupid question...how do I CD to a folder??

I just updated to latest Marshmallow bootloader and confirmed working (Looks awesome, although i think i'd prefer the android unlock logo to either be the default image or a hash # image). Also, i dont believe it matters the BL, as its only replacing the LOGO file inside it.
As for your first question, the Fastboot instructions posted in OP is correct. The Fastboot instructions on GitHub and in the ReadMe file inside the zip you dl are NOT. The correct command is "fastboot flash logo [change_to_logo_name]-hacker-bootloader.bin" (without the quotes).
I got your error because i copy pasted and didnt notice it said "fastboot flash boot..."
It needs to be "flashboot flash logo..."

Use the command "cd x" (where x = folder name)
Alternatively to go back or up a folder use "cd.."
type either command w/o the quotes.
For further help, i suggest you use google search to become more familiar w/ moving to different folders using command prompt/terminal.

Any chance you could make alternatives of that one w/ the BL unlock icon to either be the default unlock image or a hash (#) image?? If not thats ok, just wondering

Hash logo? OK will do

Thanks! That worked perfectly. Rocking the F Society logo now

Does this overwrite just the logo or the entire bootloader? I'm on the 6.0 release.

Not trying to be rude, however the post I wrote earlier (as well as the quoted one above yours) states that only the LOGO is changed. It ALSO states that I'm am on the official M bootloader and that I confirmed it working.

Nice work. I can definitely appreciate tho work. I've done a couple myself and we made a bliss logo , drawback for me was fastboot. My last resort. Lol So if there is a way around it ill find it. If you plan on continuing and interested I have a zip.

This is the third time i have said it is confirmed working on the LATEST MARSHMALLOW BOOTLOADER!!
Again for everyone in this thread, THIS DOES NOT REPLACE THE BOOTLOADER AND WILL FAIL TO FLASH (not brick phone, just wont flash). IT ONLY REPLACES THE LOGO.

EDIT: @toxicpaulution, it's a good laugh if you're joking.

Either one will work, as long as you can run fastboot commands. I suggest booting the phone into Fastboot, then running the command "fastboot devices" in CMD or Terminal to test if your machine sees the phone connected to it (you should see a serial number printed after the command completes)

Problem when rooting Custom Rom

Hi guys!
I received my Nexus yesterday en immediately rooted and unlocked the device. No problems so far.
I want to install a the cyanogen custom rom on my nexus but get stuck in the recovery step.
I have used the tutorial from Theunlockr . com (unfortunately I cant insert a link here because Im a new member)
Because I already rooted and unlocked my Nexus I started with ''III. Flash the Custom ROM''. I managed to start up the bootloader and click on 'Recovery'. Here the problems start, after clicking on 'recovery' a screen with a yellow exclamation shows up. (see attachment for screenshot)
Can somebody help me with flashing my Nexus with a custom rom? Thanks in advance!
Try to run "fastboot boot recovery.img" and see if that works. (Something like that anyway)
This was what I did for all my time using Amon's 1.5.3 recovery. Now that I'm on 1.6.0, I can use the normal recovery. That worked perfectly for me anyway. I also would always boot to that screen when attempting the normal recovery via the phone.
Do you have small tutorial or how-to how I can run 'flashboot boot recovery.img'' on my Mac?
I am quite an android-noob.

So am I
To run fastboot, you should simply go find the Android SDK download. Once you've downloaded that, make your way to the tools folder. Place the recovery image in that folder and then Shift+Right Click in the window. You click the option to bring up a command prompt.
In that Command prompt, type flashboot devices and verify the PC sees your phone. If so, then you can do the Flashboot command. Though you may need USB drivers. If you do need them, they're somewhere in this forum, but I've completely lost track of them.
P.S. if my initial command doesn't work... You might need to try "fastboot boot recovery recovery.img"
(Note... Don't try "Flashboot".. That was a typo )

got this info from the same site you posted, you just skipped the step before you started to flash the rom altogether.
II. Flash a Custom Recovery Image
1. Download the Nexus One Amon Ra Recovery Image below:
Nexus One Recovery Image (Link under Download in the first Post)
2. Save the recovery image file inside the superboot folder you used to root the phone.
3. Turn the phone off and then plug it in via USB cable.
4. Turn it on by holding down Power and the Trackball to get into fastboot mode.
5. Open a command prompt and type the following with hitting enter at the end of each line:
cd\
cd c:\superboot
fastboot-windows devices
*this is to check that the computer can see the phone (a serial should pop up if it can)
6. Then type:
fastboot-windows flash recovery recovery-RA-nexus-v1.5.3.img
7. This should flash the recovery image onto the phone.

Also, you don't really need the android sdk for flashing the recovery img, but it's a good idea to download it for future use.

Why? So that it gets moved and answered anyway? The sooner the guy gets helped out... The sooner the post gets buried.

great help!
for a mac just use ./fastboot-mac in the terminal
Like they said, sounds like you are missing recovery. Just do the step two, you skipped it. Why flame people? He is new, might as well help, instead of making this thread longer by telling him to post in right section.
Besides, he did find tutorials and followed them, he didn't come here completely unprepared and expecting people to walk him through. We all make mistakes sometimes, specially when dealing with something we are new to, he simply skipped a step.
MOD EDIT - Thread moved to Q&A

[Q] Can't get recovery to flash

I recently tried to install a ROM on my HTC one and it seems to have soft bricked my device. I don't seem to have a recovery anymore so I tried to flash TWRP using fastboot. But everytime I try the command flash recovery, I get an error that says cannot open recovery.img. I have searched and found a few tutorials and i seem to be doing everything right but the recovery wont flash. Any help? My phone will not boot at all. Fastboot works but thats about it. When i click reboot it just goes blank then goes to the exact same screen. When I click on recovery it does the exact same thing.
Is recovery in the same folder you open the terminal in? If so make sure to type in "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"

Yeah. Its in the same folder. It gives me an error every time. I can't figure out why it doesn't work.

Did you happen to use the CM Installer to unlock, root, ect?
If you did you won't be able to flash any other roms or recoveries without running an RUU.

hmmmm... fastboot folder? This person needs a bit more than that, seemingly.
So, first, there is some folder (directory) in which your "fastboot" program exists -- let's call that "FastbootDir" for this discussion. Do this:
1) Download the latest TWRP (2.7.0.x), you can use mine, or the standard release, your choice: my build (with enhancements) or the standard;
2) copy that file *exactly* as it is (quit the renaming game -- fastboot does not need that -- it could care less what the file name is) to your *FastbootDir* folder;
3) Open your file explorer and browse to that same directory (your FastbootDir folder);
4) Right click in the file area and open a command terminal *as administrator*;
5) now type this in the command window:
dir openrecovery*.img
If that says "file not found" or similar -- you either failed to copy the downloaded file to that directory, or, well, you renamed it (don't do that!);
If it tells you file name, *that* is the exact file name you must enter into the flash command. Let's say you chose my build, which will say "openrecovery-m7wls-2.7.0.2-03-13-2014.img" -- then to flash that you will type:
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-m7wls-2.7.0.2-03-13-2014.img
If on the other hand you chose the standard build from TeamWin:
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.1-m7wls.img
That should do it. Report back if you have troubles.
I finally got it flashed. Thanks for all the help. I am a newb with HTC devices. I installed the ROM that I had on the device but now it won't boot up. All i get is a white HTC screen and "process com.htc.htcdialer isn't responding". I have wiped several times and tried to install 2 different roms but i never get past the HTC screen. I can get to the lock screen but as soon as I unlock it the phone just reboots and I get stuck again. Any suggestions?

Suggest you flash a such rooted ROM just to start at a place of sanity.
Did you check all of your md5, and using your exact ROM? Are you m7spr or m7wls?

M7 wls. In not sure how to check the md5 sum. I was already on the bad boys rom so I know the rom was a good download. It just won't get past the htc screen.

Sounds like you flashed a GSM rom at one point and messed up your partitions.
I would suggest running an RUU and starting fresh.
If he tried to flash ANYTHING gsm you pretty much have to RUU... Are you trying to go GSM or stay CDMA? I would suggest viper ROM flashing in twrp 2.7.0 just to see what that does and if you can get past screen

Very, very, very, VERY true. I had to ruu back because no Rom would boot. I tried different roms but they all would get to a blank HTC screen. I could unlock the phone but the HTC screen would be there. The the HTC dialer would force close a few times then the phone would reboot. That happened on 2 different roms. Bad boys and on viper Rom. But thanks to everyone for the help.?

Don't respond there -- that's a dev thread, but honestly it's pretty easy. My suspect is you don't have the SDK (fastboot, adb, etc. properly setup). The fastboot program needs to be on your PATH, or you need to open a command window ***as administrator*** and make sure you are in the directory in which fastboot exists (e.g., type "dir fastboot*.*") and if it doesn't come back with something, you're not in the correct directory.
deleted, wrong thread.
QUOTE=nossman;55476580]Thank you! I have just installed brand new ADB tools etc. rebooted . . .[/QUOTE]
First -- could you *please* go delete the post you laid down in my TWRP development thread -- I specifically asked you *not* to do that. Dev threads are not support or Q&A threads and that post takes up a bunch of space totally unnecessarily. Sigh ...
Second -- if the command fails like that it means you have the wrong path to the file you downloaded. Do a file search for openrecovery*.* starting in C:\ and use the path it finds.

windows 8.1 has a driver problem on a really old hboot 1.44
and it was only a problem for a very few. The phone was updated to hboot 1.54 just weeks after the release of windows 8.1 and it works fine.
If you are on hboot 1.44 and you only have use of a windows 8.1 PC their is a driver hack that will work and get your phone working long enough to update the hboot.
File > http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2500592&d=1389122072
Instructions
I repeat this is a REALLY DIRTY solution that may harm your system, personal data, hardware and/or cat.
Here are the steps:
0. Have a Linux or Windows LiveCD just in case something goes wrong
1. Download and extract files from attachment
2. Navigate to the folder corresponding to your system version (x86 = 32-bit, x64 = 64 bit)
3. Right-click franken-usb.bat and click "Run as Administrator"
5. Wait for it to finish and reboot the system. If everything went fine, you will boot your system successfully
6. Install ADB/Fastboot drivers just like on Windows 8
7. Connect your phone in Fastboot mode to your USB 2.0 port and check if it works
8. Enjoy and wait for official fix
How does it work:
It's not any kind of magic - it just replaces Windows 8.1's usbhub.sys and usbport.sys with Windows 8's ones.
Old files don't check for BOS descriptor so Fastboot can work.
Script updated - it should now actually copy the files but please double check if files were copied to C:\Windows\system32\Drivers!
Hope it helps you!
Regards!

First, forgive title error, I know it's Fastboot lol... Wow so I am so close, yet so far away. I have successfully unlocked boot loader. I have downloaded all the necessary files. I have followed You-Tube guides to the word... Yet when I get down to the final steps, errors! I am stuck at this point... On CMD screen, when doing the "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" it will not work. Kicks back an error that basically says twrp.img is too big and my phone is rejecting the download. Went and found a smaller file that should be small enough, yet still the same error. Please help me! I am so frustrated after hours of working on this. Thanks!!

OK you have a t-mobile phone that's a good thing
Boot the phone to the bootloader by shutting it down then holding volume down and hit power
now with the phone in fastboot USB / hooked to the PC
type fastboot devices
you should see your phones serial no displayed
now just type fastboot flash recovery with a space at the end
now just drag TWRP 2.6.3.3 into the command window and hit enter. this will flash twrp
now type fastboot erase cache
followed by fastboot reboot-bootloader
now you can enter recovery and use adb to push or sideload a rom to your phone
Instructions
Unlock the bootloader at HTCDEV
then from fastboot USB
Flash recovery TWRP 2.6.3.3
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-m7.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
then sideload this Rom to your phone
http://www.androidrevolution.org/downloader/download.php?file=Android_Revolution_HD-One_81.0.zip
TWRP / Advanced / ADB Sideload - swipe to sideload
From PC adb / fastboot folder
you use
adb sideload name-of-rom.zip
make sure the rom is in the same folder as adb / fastboot

You should note that you windows is not showing the file extensions of your files in the sdk folder that's why you get the error when you rename files twrp.img is actually trwp.img.img

Thanks!

Great !! Enjoy your phone

Bricked Nexus 6 please help ASAP!

I just bought a Nexus 6... Unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone.... after realizing there were some issues with the phone I decided I would try and download the PURE rom for the phone... I installed TWRP recovery and tried to flash the image. When the phone booted back up it said that the data was corrupt, and to enter a password. Entering anything seemed to work and I would then reset the phone... but the same thing would come back up.
So I decided to try and wipe the phone again and re-install the ROM... after that it wouldn't load at all, came back with some kind of error.
Then I decided to do a full wipe of the phone and try and re-install the factory image... Problem is... I haven't tried to do anything with a phone in like 2 years and well... i'm having trouble on trying to figure out how I can restore the factory image. I have the SDK tools installed, the phone drivers are also obviously installed, but can someone help me try to reset to the factory image.
I only have like 3 hours to try and accomplish this from now because after this I have to get on a plane and won't be around and will also leave me without a phone... Can someone please help me as soon as possible? Thank you so much!! I could use somewhat detailed instructions but not crazy

Try nexus toolkit by wugfresh can't go wrong. If you get error missing system.img while flashing go to options then flash then click force flash. The toolkit will download all needed steps and flash without a problem
dont use a toolkit. you are guaranteed to learn nothing, and doing it the right way is just as fast(and easy). plus, root toolkits mess up often. dong it right never messes anything up.
Nexus device can almost never be bricked, I say almost never because of the people variable, but if you can get it into bootloader mode it is easy to bring back. just follow the instructions above.
I agree that even though wugfresh tools is the best out there. I have used it before. You learn nothing about what needs to be completed.
I could never get the drivers to work for me in most cases. I use ubuntu and it always works running the manual commands.
Ok so I have tried to run the flash-all.bat file and it says in the command prompt it is an unrecognized command...
I'm assuming I must be missing part of the ADB tools? Ugh help!

first thing to do in adb is run the command "adb devices" to make sure that adb sees your device, does adb see your device?
It says list of devices attached and then nothing....
Can someone give me a short step by step on what I need to do here? I'm really running low on time, this is really bad....

wait.. you are flashing the factory img, you do not use adb for that. you boot into the bootloader then use fastboot for that. adb doesnt work in the bootloader anyways, use fastboot while youre in the bootloader, and type fastboot devices to make sure fastboot sees your device.
@simms22 is correct, tool kits make you learn nothing, and you get posts like this.
However if you are time contained. As much as it pains me to say this. Use the tool kit. And learn on a time when you can.
Download Wugs toolskit and flash back to stock images. And you'll be fine.
Update your SDK if u haven't already.
Unzip factory images and place in platform tools folder of SDK. (Unless you have environmental variables set correctly)
Open a command prompt from that directory (place cursor in empty space, hold shift and right click on mouse)
Boot into bootloader
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot reboot

Different strokes for different folks!!!!
Sent from my SM-T310 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
doing the following command in command prompt:
fastboot devices
it shows the following device:
ZX1G2224G5
I'm assuming that is the nexus 6...
So whats next on the list then?
I unzipped the factory image and using the flash-all.bat script it says fastboot is not a recognied command.

not really.
if you know anything about what you are doing, its one thing, use a toolkit, enjoy yourself. if you have no idea what you are doing, the root toolkit is by far the wrong way to go. as you will still know absolutely nothing, and will learn nothing. and pretty soon, when you have some simple maintenance to do, and you have no idea how, you start thread about having your device bricked. and im sure that you personally have not helped out hundreds that have started threads about having their device "bricked" after using a root toolkit. i have.

you probably have to unzip it twice, if there is another zip within that one zip. and you can try not using the word fastboot, as i also have ran into fastboot programs where it wasnt needed.

OP... The password was a numerical representation of your pattern unlock since you were still encrypted. The key is in the first post of the TWRP thread.
Now...extract the factory image until you have boot.img radio.img system.img and recovery.img if there is a bootloader img flash that first.
Flash bootloader with fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
Reboot with fastboot reboot-bootloader
Flash boot system and radio respectively with fastboot flash boot/radio/system boot.img/radio.img/system.img one at a time.
Finish with fastboot reboot and you sgould be all set.
op got it flashed, and ended up flashing his rom as well. so, he was successful
I hope saying use a toolkit didn't start an argument, only said to use it because he had a time restraint..

no, it didnt start an argument. but he ended up doing it the right way, then flashed his rom. then flashed a different rom because his rom was so so. but really, even if theres a time restraint, if your driver is installed properly, it takes about 3-4 minutes to flash the boot.img

How to Unlock Bootloader, Flash TWRP, and ROOT LG G4 H811 T-Mobile.

Now, I know this tutorial exists all over the place, like one-click and UnjustifiedDev tutorial but none seemed to work. I am sharing the steps and method I used IN-DEPTH command for command on how to unlock, flash, and root the LG G4 from Tmobile.
NOTE THIS WILL FACTORY RESET YOUR DEVICE SO BACKUP ALL YOUR DATA
1. Activate developer settings by entering the about section and tapping build number 7 times.
2. Enter your developer settings and MAKE sure you have 'Allow OEM unlock' and 'USB Debugging' enabled.
3. Download the latest SuperSU zip and move it onto your SD card.
4. Using the android issue SDK. Open a command window and link it to your SDK folder where ADB is located (typically Platform-Tools)
5. Once the Command window is linked to the folder, connect your device via USB and allow the connection.
6. On the command window type 'adb reboot bootloader' and the device should reboot with the fastboot options on the upper left of the phone screen
7. Once again on the command window type 'fastboot oem unlock' and the command window should say OKAY and complete the action.
8. To Confirm that the device is unlocked type 'fastboot getvar unlock' and the window should respond with 'Unlock: YES'
9. Now download the latest available TWRP and drop it into the platform-tools folder where your ADB.exe is located.
10. On your Command Window type 'fastboot flash recovery "NAME OF TWRP FILE" if you get the error ' cannot load 'twrp-X.X.X.X-h811' you need to add .img to the end of the filename
11. Once the process completes you will see 'target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
sending 'recovery' (32968 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.088s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: unknown command)
finished. total time:'
THE FAILED UNKNOWN COMMAND NOTICE CAN BE IGNORED
12. Once the process completes the device may not let you enter recovery from the traditional method using the buttons on the back of the phone so the easiest method is to, on your command window, type
'fastboot boot twrp-2.8.7.0-h811.img' and the device should respond within just a few seconds and reboot into TWRP.
13. Once the device reboots, enter twrp and tap on install and locate the SuperSU.zip and allow it to install.
14. Once the process completes successfully, wipe cache to be safe and reboot your device.
15. Resetup your device and restore your data if necessary and install a root checker from Google Play to confirm root!
THATS IT GUYS! This took me a long time to figure this out and it's a combination of different methods to get it to work!
All credit goes to the Devs of TWRP and SuperSU!
I posted in General because I'm a new user so please move to appropriate forums! thanks!

The guide you linked does not show how to unlock the bootloader or install TWRP to allow the install of SU for users that are already on Marshmallow. The other guide would have been perfect if I already had bootloader unlocked and SU installed.

Yes it does. You do not need to use any codes, just enable oem unlocking in dev settings and type fastboot oem unlock and it will be unlocked.
Can't get twrp installed
Thanks for the step by step directions. I'm having trouble restarting my H811 after I've flashed TWRP. My device doesn't respond to the button method of entering recovery and 'fastboot boot twrp-2.8.7.0-h811.img' command doesn't do anything. My device is 20i and I've unlocked the bootloader. Any ideas? Seems like I've tried everything and can't get TWRP to install. Any help would be great...thanks
I have the G4 LGUS991 gotta can I tell if it's h811?

Can't remember which thread, but I ran into the same problem you have and solved it by using an additional command like fastboot erase userdata. If you google it, you'll see the commands I mean. Basically, I had to factory reset the device through fastboot first (it sits there for several minutes to do this) before installing/booting twrp. And yes, the log will show that the process was successful, not a failure as mentioned by OP. Once I did that, I booted in twrp and flashed the rom zip without any trouble.
So, you guys mean we have Marshmallow on T mobile G4, I didn't get it yet.
Please somebody give me a link to the OTA or update.zip for MM of LG G4
This one worked for me!
This is the only guide that worked for me.
I unlocked bootloader using adb, no problems...
I tried to flash TWPR with fastboot but kept getting errors. Booting into recovery got a dead android minion and red triangle with ! I ran this stupid recovery a dozen times and read a dozen threads with no obvious answers.
This guide says "ignore the error" and run fastboot boot twrp-2.8.7.1-h811.img which immediately opened TWRP and allowed SuperSU-2.71.zip to be flashed.
The part most guides are missing is the fastboot boot twrp-2.8.7.1-h811.img, so my thanks go here. Some other guides are so difficult to read and follow.
Thanks OP !
Yes, MM Android 6.0 went OTA for T-Mobile a month or so ago...
If you are already on Marshmallow, can't you do the 'fastboot oem unluck' with ADB and install SuperSU through the play store to get root? The part for TWRP would only give you the ablity to flash other roms.
Edit: Nevemind I'm wrong. You need TWRP to install SuperSU which roots the phone. SuperSU in the Play Store will only grant root acess to your apps.

I've just got a H811 and it automatically updated to Android 6 when I loaded it up. I will be giving this guide a go this evening. Many of the other links on the web are for lollipop and were released when the phone came out, so I'm thankful that this seems straight forward. http://uslugi.nie-spamuj.eu/rtv,1,0.html Hoping that it goes that way.
How to lock bootloader or hide status: bootloader state: unlocked?
Sr for my English!
So I followed this guide and I appear to be soft bricked at best and hard bricked at worst. I did read the other guide linked in the second response and I found a major difference that might be my problem. So in the guide linked in the second response it doesn't say to even try flashing TWRP from fastboot. It says to just boot from it then install it from within TWRP. I followed the steps verbatim and my phone is currently stuck at the T-Mobile splash screen. Any suggestions? I have tried to boot into recovery by holding down and the power and releasing the power for a second when the logo comes up. I get into the Factory data reset screen and select Yes twice then the green guy shows up and the phone resets but stays at the T-Mobile splash screen. I don't have ADB or fastboot with the phone in this state.
hi Guys,
So i just wanted to make sure and present my ask -
So, currently twrp flashing and obtaining root is still buggy for those who have android 6.0 preinstalled? Is this a correct assumption?
Also, my ask - I dont want root but i would like a custom recovery so that I may flash custom fonts. My work email (Good for Enterprise) is very much needed (although i hate it to the core).
Can someone please answer me / correct if I mentioned something wrong?
Thanks

It's not buggy at all. All the tedium has already been bypassed if you already have Marshmallow installed.
Follow autoprime's original guide, steps 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8 under the Bootloader OEM Unlock + Root section. I would recommend a more up-to-date version of TWRP than 2.8.7.1 though. Go to TWRP's download site for the latest version.
