Oh Yes you are right. I am flashing this rom now

Thx

It works really great but for me when it comes with modified icons and menus with the webpage with pics its not "real" AOSP.

Yes it work smooth and nice . Also the camera back to normal

the best rom actually...

How about led notification, vibration, slow motion, compass and focus?

yeah, what about bugs?

just installed this version. Still no vibration for now. Camera is working smoothly, running so fast and smooth. Don't know about battery duration.. hope it will be better than the stock one.

Could you report how the battery's doing? I'd be very interested

Battery is better than MIUI rom here

I just flashed it. It's incredible! Fast and snappy.
I'll test for tomorrow.. all day and I will report here my battery findings.

newbie question.... how do you flash this rom into redmi note 2? and I assume if I want to go back to MIUI, i just reflash using the fastboot method?

You can start here to get TWRP on it and then it is basically the same as always: http://en.miui.com/thread-152550-1-1.html
and if you want to go back to miui just create a Backup in TWRP once installed and copy it to your PC to be safe.
Fastboot is also fine if you want to do a complete clean install including default Miui recovery. Cheers.

nice, it has been long since I had something AOSP, thanks!
in any case, ROM seems to be running very smooth, no insights on the battery life yet.
few bugs are present though - adaptive brightness is really sensitive to light changes.
as everyone reported - no vibration
lock screen and screen timeout is somehow sketchy, but working.
notifications led seems to be working (atleast low battery and charging are shown)
camera is also working fine (no slowmo though)

Thanks for the replies!

I installed it tonight and so far it seems stable and very smooth. I'll report on batterylife later on

Battery pretty good. Using this rom with xposed gravity box. No vibration though.

[ROM] [JB] MIUI for the Xperia T [MIUI - AOSP based] [NEW]

This is an MIUI build for the Sony Xperia T. It was ported from a combination of the MIUI.us build for the HTC One S and the MIUIAndroid build for the Galaxy Nexus. The base ROM used was my latest ParanoidAndroid build.
What is MIUI?
MIUI is a heavily themed ROM (which IMHO looks beautiful) based on JellyBean. For more info see http://miuiandroid.com
Working:
All core and important functions of the ROM - WiFi, Bluetooth, RIL, Mobile Data. Camera etc.
Not working:
There will inevitably be some bugs. I've played with it for a few days and I couldn't fin anything glaringly broken in my usage. However, I fully expect there to be minor problems here and there - please feel free to report on this thread.
Download:
ROM - 24/08/2012 - Download
GApps - Download
The kernel source for this ROM can be found at https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_kernel_sony_msm8x60
Thanks to:
MIUI guys for an awesome ROM
linds6630 for a great port to the HTC One S
MIUIAndroid guys for their work Galaxy Nexus ROM
FreeXperia Team and codeworkx for their awesome work on the device tree and kernel
Reserved.
Excellent..the development is really moving on here now...will link to the all in one thread
Nice.... Gonna be trying this
Edit: Whats the camera like on this, because I've tried AOKP and thought the camera was poor on that

No idea. Just took a pic to check that the camera worked. Even with such an awesome camera I rarely take photos so
Does it take pictures in its full 13mp's or not?

Hahaha no worries mate, guess I'll just have to flash and see
Might have to look into porting the Xperia S version, is that based on the stock rom? Like a lot of the later roms...
Maximum resolution of 5MP but as I said it will be fixed when MIUI releases their new version on Friday and I port and release it.

Cheers. Will fix in the next build.
Torch both from the app and the status bar results in reboot.
Sometimes the H/W buttons black out but reappear again fairly soon.
Everything else so far working really well. Awesome app.
Some more bugs although probably related:-
Unable to download from web
Unable to download languages for Swiftkey keyboard
Still running fairly smoothly although H/W buttons keep blacking out and reshuffling.
Tilal,
Any chance you could add the control panel / extended settings apps to the ROM please?

Same issue (downloads) in some other ROM's. Try fix permissions in CWM first, if that doesn't work, backup your internal SD and then format it and copy back over what you need. That should fix it.
I'm having problems with Skype - not sure if it is related to the problem with speaker/headphones but when I try to answer a call or make call it rings but cannot be answered.
Proximity sensor works to lock screen during a call but when I want to end, it stays black. Have to keep my finger on power button to bring up shut down options and then end call from there.

How often will you be updating the MIUI build and when is the next update.
I'm loving this ROM. MIUI is like an addiction!

[Q] Incredible S JellyBean Roms Comparison

There have now been severel JellyBean ROMS released for the HTC Incredible S.
I was hoping that I could get some opinion on how well each one is working.
So far i have found the following ROMS:
Codename Android and JellyBean Evolution by Nic
There is a comparison of them here.
The thread pretty much outlines that they are smooth bountiful ROMS which they are. They work really well, however, I have noticed some extra things wrong with them other then the outlined ones:
-Loudspeaker does not work and breaks the mic for the call.
-Sometimes the text on the homescreen becomes blurred, you have to lock the screen for a while to get that to go away.
-The full screen videos crash the phone, the fix doesn't work on my phone.
The next ROM i have seen is the CyanVivo X mod. I haven't tried this one but it seems like it has all the same problems. Front camera doesn't work. Full screen vids etc.
There is one that has been released recently:
It is an unofficial CM release:
It seems to have solved all of the problems with the ROM, the front camera works, it seems like it is quick, the only thing it doesnt handle is video camera. Can anyone tell me about problems with this ROM.
I was hoping to make a good Thread which compares each of these ROMs and which ones are the best?
The first two are just ROMs to say you have JB on your phone, both are buggy but some people can live with this and use them daily. These were the first JB ROMs, the same Dev got them running then support stopped.
CV10 is the breakthrough JB ROM, Dev working on it and the ROM has potential. More stable than the first two ROMs as Dev focusing on the kernel, currently still got a couple of bugs which some people can live with to be able to use the ROM daily. Keep an eye on this thread for development progress and regular feedback.
CM10 has a ninja for a Dev, works in the background and appears absent from the forum. Then ROM appears. The ROM currently seems to be the most stable/complete JB ROM and has least bugs. Many people using this as a daily use ROM. But is the Dev still working on it to perfect it, how long until the next update... nobody knows!
I tried this ROM, battery life seemed short, I struggled to get a days normal use from one charge. Plus I wanted my video camera to be working so I can film my young kids when I needed to. Back on ICS/sense ROM now.
These are just my own crude opinions.

there is a paranoid android JB ROM by Nikhil: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1863862
I had used the ones you have listed below as well as the paranoid android ROM.. i found the paranoid to be less buggy...give it a shot.. it is a very different visual experience.. the rom is based on CM9.. you will have some minor issues:
1. front camera won't work
2. Adjusting in call volume resets the ringtone volume
3. Google now may not work..
4. tablet mode won't have an option to enable USB connectivity...
...
Give it a try; apart from the above issues, it is a very stable ROM; i was on it for about 6 months with no issues..
1. It is a different experience altogether - not many tweaks is what I found but a visual delight
2. google now issue will be resolved after you flash the "4.1 to 4.2" package; it will also introduce photosphere: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1991734

From reading the thread on the paranoid android it looks like it has more bugs then the Unofficial CM ROM. Things including permenant sleep and crashing with full screen video, which i experienced with the original ROMS from Nik.
The only problems I have with the Unofficial ROM is that the battery drains quite quickly (About 10Hrs on Battery with Juice Defender Pro), it can be a bit Laggy at times which i didn't experience with Niks ROMS and sometimes it doesn't quite wake up properly, (The button lights come on but you have to wait a bit for the screen)
Hi,
My experience with the ROM was different.. yes is an issue with the full screen video but the thread mentions the solution.. I did not have any issues with phone not-able-to-sleep... the battery was also good - it used to last atleast a day with good usage on calls...
With tools like 'Easy Battery Saver' it even touched 2 days with normal usage..
I was on the ROM for six months with no issues.. also i did not use the default launcher bundled with the ROM; I had installed APEX launcher rather..

Try turning off network based location in gps settings and rebooting the phone. it's a known bug with cm. :/
Are you only looking at CM/AOSP/AOKP roms?
I really don't think any are ready for daily use. Every one I used I thought was okay, then I needed to use the camera or some setting and it would crash. I'm going to wait for szezso to make a fully working kernel.
I think I'm going to test lacoste right now though... I'll tell you what I think.

I've been using dla5244's Unofficial CM10 for more than a week now. It's definitely a daily driver. With v2, even camcorder works wonderfully. I believe the v2 kernel is full featured and I can find no bugs at all so far.

What CPU governor are you using? I once switched to Interactive with some bad tweaks which resulted in something like you're experiencing now. After switching to ondemand/smartassv2 everything is fine now.

[Q] Looking for a VERY Stable and latest Rom

Hey people !
After spending a whole afternoon looking for a stable and battery friendly CUSTOM Rom for my SG3 LTE version I got confused with all those options.
Could any of you suggest one Rom that could offer me good battery, performance and with every function working properly.
Thanks in advance.

Hi
I'm prettty much in favor of non-stock ROMs, so my reply may be a bit biased
Depending on what you mean by "latest" I would recommend Sentinel ROM, which I have been running for months on my S3LTE without any issues - just works, is very stable and excellent battery life !
As it has been a bit quiet around this ROM for some time now and I wanted to look into what has changed in 6 months I now tested a few ROMs and ended up with Ressurection Remix for the time being, looks fine so far.
HTH, best regards,
Axel
The Galaxy Project (link in my signature)
hands down the most stable ROM for the 9305, probably because its made by those who actually use and own a 9305. It's not some fork or spin-off from a 9300 tree.
Running on TGP for a year now, with a functional 4G link.
Thank you guys !
Dont froget amcha rom.. one of the beat
Currently archidroid is the best kitkat ROM. No forced close ,good battery. Fast.

1lshara, What rom did you go with and what do you think of it. Did you have any issues at all?
for simplicity stock look but great battery life and stable i suggest you try rXTREME.JB.4.3-V4.1.
for customization and ofcourse good battery and stable i suggest AllianceROM V3.
if your not onto stock based then i cannot suggest :victory:

Thanks for this suggestion, I once installed ROMs for my GF but she isn't tech savvy and his been a nightmare. All she wants is something with good battery life and camera that works. I am going to give this a go on her phone this weekend and see how it goes.
I think Alliance ROM is excellent except it isn't the latest. Unless it changed recently it is Jelly bean based not kit kat. I used it for months and my only issue was battery life.
I then went through a number of ROMs (I'm totally new to this BTW) and found they all have faults of some kind. Mostly, there's nothing out there so far as I've found that can come close to the Samsung camera app.
I had omni for a while but started having a few problems such as lock up reboot when streaming from media browser.
Currently I'm on liquid smooth which doubled my battery life (well nearly double). However, like all the kit Kat based ROMs I tried, the camera is a bit naff and ecoffeecard had a corrupt camera view rendering it useless. Last week I started getting systemui faults and force closes so updated to the nightly. But still have the systemui crash today. So I'm really thinking of reverting to alliance at this b point. I'm thinking it was the Samsung stuff that hurt the battery so maybe that can be removed (except the awesome camera app).
Hope that helps.

Thanks - got a feeling I looked at that but can't remember the details (I seemed to be flashing a new ROM every hour or so there for a while) - I'll give it another whirl
Use 2.4.5 , don't use the1.x version. 2.4.5 is kitkat. So far i think this is far more battery friendly than the official omni nighties.

You cant place words "stable" and "latest" together!!
Stable means that its working without problems for a long time, so it cant be latest.
Very stable means almost ideal, so it dont exist, everyone has their own experience, so each will give you different advice and you will end up with nothing more than crap
I was trying couple of roms and my theory is that custom roms are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get (sentence form Forest Gump). For me and my actual phone least unpleasant surprises gave stock 4.1.2 with added JKAY mod and removed apps by me.
But for security gap in browser I changed to stock 4.3 with 4.1.2 bootloader and some xposed modules. This is not a good setup, cause from time to time battery is eated very fast, even battery stats does not show anything specific.
As someone has already said, stable and latest can't always go together. Stock based ROMs will generally be more stable. However, Cm-based ROMS, for instance, are currently the only way to get the latest android version, coupled with nice extra features. If you really value being able to use every phone function without any weird bugs, stick with a stock based ROM. For the i9300, I'd recommend SmartDroid (dunno if it's available for the LTE version).

I remember this one now - don't like the aroma installer; it only occupies half the screen yet takes touch for the whole screen. which means a lot of guessing where to tap to trigger the button.
It's installed now so will see how it goes today.
FWIW - the base Google camera hides too many feature down on a second layer of menu options so it's impossible to get to the quickly. the 'colour' one in play store doesn't even have half the features as far as I can find, and the controls keep disappearing off screen. Samsungs app lets you keep custom shortcuts on screen and also lets you take photos during a video shoot.

I agree that Samsung camera is user friendly. For the aroma installer problem,i think if you are coming from not 4.4.2, you should format system before flashing, the aroma installer then will become full screen.

When you say format - I did a factory reset within TWRP which wipes Data, Cache and Dalvik. is that what you mean or should I be doing an 'advanced wipe' ?
After Archi was installed, I found I was missing my contacts - possibly because I unticked the 'backup to google' option in the beginning as I didn't want it downloading all the apps. my Rerware MyBackup Pro restored the apps ok, but couldn't restore contacts etc - it just froze. I reverted to my TWRP backup of liquid and found a similar issue - I had blocked (or at least not unblocked) the ability of MyBackup pro to access contacts and the like so assume at the moment the backup was bad and hence why the app froze. Regardless, I'm surprised the contacts didn't come from Google cos I've never had to restore them in the passed.
I'll give it another go but it would be nice to fix the aroma issue first, so please advise. btw liquid smooth is kit kat based 4.4.2

I have spent whole working day with this rom, I can say without doubt 10 x better than anything from miui, I take card payment using paypal Here via blutooth which has been hit and miss with miui as has bluetooth call reception. Had not 1 problem with CM. Where are all the posters gone? locked bootloaders? or given up waiting for a custom rom?
Will give it a try asap
Personally I'm enjoying Mokee which is also fabulous !
Way better than Miui, the customisation level is finally high
Battery life is good I can easily last a day and performances are excellent.
what gapps we use?

What exactly could you do with this ROM that you couldn't do with Miui?
Beside finding AOSP 1000% prettier than Miui there are TONS of function on Mokee.
You can pretty much customise everything, you get CM theme engine, best Xposed modules are available, better control over your kernel and overall you can set everything the way you want it to be which I didn't find possible on Miui.
This rom is fast and I am finding it fairly stable. 4G works and wifi stable (that was my issue with Mokee). Battery drain seems higher than Mokee. Improves significantly with airplane mode.
Bank apps problem
hi guys,
rom is really fast but I have problems with bank apps. I try to login and then I receive info "the device is not able to use this application"
This rom will update via OTA? Thanks for your work!!

and does xposed work for this rom?

MIUI or CUSTOM ROM based on CM13?

Hi guys...which rom is better for Xiaomi mi5 64gb? Previously i have MIUI 8, now i changed to RR 5.7.4...which is better? RR, AOSP, DU, other or MIUI 8?
It's up to you to find the ROM which suits you best. Some people love MIUI, some people don't...
All ROMs are good, some of them offer more customizing features and have more "power" for you to handle. Don't forget stability when rating a ideal ROM for you. If you want a daily driver, you surely want no bugs, and all things working. But, only you can evaluate that.
I recommed MIUI for stable and RR for customize
I been on miui for a while now but recently changed to cm13 I'm satisfied as hell, battery life is great and customization as well.
Skickat från min MI 5
I have a Mi5 32GB and have used MIUI 7/8, RR and CM13. Of the three MIUI is the worst (except battery life) and CM13 would be the best. The problem I had with RR was constant bootloops but it's customization is a tad bit better than that of CM. You can check out the official Nightly for CM13 here and flash it using a custom recovery like TWRP.
Personal preference plays a huge role here so I suggest you try each on your own and then select one. I have Xposed installed on my device so I don'y have to skimp on RR's customization features.
As was mentioned above - it's up to you. So you should try them (ROMs) by yourself because it's impossible to predicts what is more important for you and your evereday tasks.
I'm using MIUI rom (Xiaomi.eu 6.10.13 rom) because it works better with CDMA networks. Recently I've tested Official CM13 - Good rom, smooth, fast, very good battery life. But I didn't like how it works with networks (CDMA+GSM/UMTS).
Thats why I restored to 6.10.13 rom

Definitely Stock ROM.. Preferably EU, as its based on Stock.. Because, CM builds are still under development as in Nightlies..

ROM stability and bugs - it's an other question.
From the battery life point of view - new official CM is better than EU

Considering the amount of apps installed and the ones installing additionally, and the wakelocks are factors for battery duration.. CM has very few system apps compared the stock or any stock based.

Does the MIUI have German language? If no (which I am assuming/reading) does the CM13 or a custom ROM have this?
Also I am still searching for the "how to get TRWP onto my new phone post" (yes I have been searching) so would appreciate if someone could post me a link, thnaks!

The best MIUI rom if you want German language is xiaomi.eu one. Why? While Global Stable MIUI does have german language, xiaomi.eu is basically chinese version with Google Play and no chinese crap. Chinese Version gets updates more often than global version. Here is the link with the installation guide (TWRP installation guide included).
https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads...r-xiaomi-mi5-unlocked-bl-only-released.31231/
Idle battery drain on MIUI 8 (.eu) stable for me is mostly 0.0%/h over night, according to GSAM Battery monitor. That's after freezing most of the system apps with SD maid.
Day-to-day usage is ~1.9%/h, listening to music over BT for about 6h, browsing, whatsapp. So, a charge lasts 2 days for me.
I don't think CM would make much difference there, and personally, I like MIUI.
Custom roms for Xiaomi Mi5 are quite good if you don't need camera, if you are happy to use your phone as a single sim phone, if you love to actually press the home button.

For what it's worth, I can use my Mi5 as a dual sim phone just fine under CM13... Nothing wrong with the CM camera as well. Only "problem" is the lack of the capacitive home button, I'll give you that.
Personally, between having to deal with the crappy MIUI notification implementation and the lack of tap home button, I chose the latter

The bug when the battery reach 5%, data connectivity keep dropping off, Bluetooth connections the same, camera issues, dual sim issues. Those are just few issues reported by people on last 2-3 pages of CM thread. Don't get me wrong...i do appreciate developers job. And their work it's more difficult because Xiaomi just released the kernel source code. And only partially. But today, 30th of October 2016, there's absolutely no custom rom without having something broken. Is MIUI perfect? Not at all. As you said, the way MIUI is handing notifications it's far to be handy. But stability and functionality wise, no custom rom can match MIUI today.
Love miui don't know why everyone hates on it.
Will flash cm 13 if it gets stable and see if I like it more on my mi5. If miui 9 gets released before cm 13 gets stable though I won't.
Well Vladimir, not everybody is facing those bugs. I am not (the 5% battery one I would probably, but who cares!) That's why I am not updating the build in currently on Fantastic experience and solid enough to make it as my daily driver.
But I totally get what you mean! Flashing such experimental ROMs isn't for everyone, I would most def. agree with that and would not necessarily recommend it if you don't want to have to deal with some odd bugs once in a while. And yes, MIUI is a very solid and polished skin (certainly not bug-free tho!!)It's just a little bit too "iOSy" for me.
