So confused - will p7 ever receive Lollipop Update, or do you really have to root? - Huawei Ascend P7

Hi guys.
So I've been searching for this information for a very long time. Every news say that p7 is going to receive the update and that it would roll out in June / July.
Am I missing something? I really want the update, but I dont want to root my phone.
Btw, I live in Denmark, Europe, if that helps.

Then you haven't searched enough
There's currently a BETA test running for P7 Lollipop. The current version (B815) is running pretty well but we're still waiting for the final release.
Huawei keeps changing the release dates so no one knows for sure when we'll receive the final version.
Some sources say November...

Thanks a lot for your fast reply!
Ah okay, I heard about the BETA but I heard that it would probably just be out for 3-4 weeks before the final version was added.
So just to be sure: I will receive the lollipop version for my phone - whenever Huawei is ready?

You are totally right, normally a beta test lasts only a couple of weeks. Apparently this doesn't apply to Huawei
You will receive Lollipop whenever it's ready and automatically via OTA.

Thanks a lot for the clarification. Good to know I will get it eventually.
Weird they are so slow. I really like this phone - but Im not sure my next phone is going to be Huawei because of this slow android development.

[Q] Is there a offical Froyo update?

Hey guys,
Is there a official froyo release for the Galaxy S?
I am not sure about this because i read different things on the net.
And if there is one ... how do i install it?
I tried to install the f**cking thing of a software called Kies.
The installation always gets aborted So, currently i am pretty stucked.
not yet
you have to wait, deadline is close
Do i get informed by my phone when it is availible?
And what seems the be the way it gets installed? OTA? Or do i have to flash it with Kies, which can't be installed on my system?

Current Version: PDA:JFB / PHONE:JF5
This Device's Version cannot be updated.

Patience is the key here. The updates will come sooner than later but the release dates will vary on the region you are in. the latest one has come for UK.

I doubt they would release a major upgrade on a saturday.
It will probably come out next monday.
And since next week is the last week of september, I have high hopes samsung didn't lie to everyone and we will be seeing it then.

b170/b183/b194/b199/b200/b550/b551/b560 to Marshmallow via HICARE

hello, few days ago there was update from germany via hicare app, now I have changed region to german and it working very well. Update steps:
1 upgrade hicare application to newest version.
Run APP - >>Accept terms. ->> choose europe (if there is no update still choose germany) -->> OS upgrade early adopters
u'r welcome
source: https://twitter.com/HUAWEI_DACH/status/739840367672037376/photo/1
That was how they provided MM for everyone and it is not new information. However b550/b551/b560 are MM builds.
I disagree totally with Azaradel this WAS new information to me and I thank kiamikadze for sharing it.
Really don't know why everyone is ignoring this thread!
It is the easiest way to upgrade to Marshmallow.
No worries about doing something wrong as it comes straight from the Huawei servers.
No worries about which version you are currently running.
I'm happy that for everyone that has heard about that method, the update appeared within seconds. However, I changed already to many languages in the HiCare app and even downloaded the HiCare update from the market to do this "OS Upgrade". The EMUI updater instead still says: "No updates". I'm on B194 with a Swiss SIM. Maybe having the right right IMEI is important? Someone has a clue? I want to update the official way, not via a forced method.
Thanks, my phone is in the Asia pacific region, with location set to Australia. I am also able to get MM update with the help of post. The trick is to opt in for OS upgrade early adopters
Wow, thanks. Upgraded to 6.0. No regional change was needed though

Apparently huawei said they can upgrade your phone if you call them as you have the correct build for upgrade. Huawei said this when I rang them. Ring them and ask them to push upgrade from their side through hicare.
I tried with ale-l21c432b188 and didnt work :/
never knew that lol, thanks for the share.

It was like an example, u can choose any region where MM is live. Because new updates are instantly uploaded to hicare..
Yesterday at my friend office we updated from poland region. P.S sorry for bad english
updates are available only for: b170/b183/b194/b199/b200/b550/b551/b560

Updates roll out in pieces. Only certain parts of the world will get them first, then the next, and so on.
We only just got the official update here in the UK, other parts of Europe have had it for a couple of weeks.
It will eventually be available to you sometime!

Seems to be only minor visible changes. No new options I can see.
One thing that did change was that I can use EE's WiFi calling, which wasn't available before on the beta. This was activated automatically by EE via a text.
Camera, WiFi, network all seem same.
Will have to wait maybe a couple of days to see how the battery life is.

Not working for me. By the time I get it Android Snickers will be out
Do you think it would work if we flashed the android nouget version B360 over the B182 version of mashmallow we currently have ??
Yes what happens if a non Beta on 182 tries to install the latest Android N ROM?

It just doesn't work, I downloaded the B182 ROM last night and installed it, no problems.
On Firmware Finder there are a couple of ROMS viz. B360, B361 and another B361, I've tried to download all 3 and flash them (using dload method) and have had NO success whatsoever with any of them.
I am now reverting to checking the update page in settings every hour or so!
BTW I've tried the dialler method too and that doesn't work neither
What's the huawei updater way?
Why is this phone such a piece of crap, differing version per region for what is the same software.
Why do OEMs insist on making such an industry out of something this straight forward

How to update from U6EQC9 to U6EQCF?

At some point I got tired of waiting for ATT update to Nougat and updated to U6EQC9. But then official update came out, straight to U6EQCF. So now, even though there is a new update available from ATT, I can't do it since I am on an earlier version. Could you guys please help - how I can update from U6EQC9 to U6EQCF, so that my phone could start picking up ATT updates from now on?
The more details the better, please, as I am really not that sophisticated in phone updates.
Really appreciate any advice!

Question How to force updates ?

Hi there.
Admittedly, I get a bit confused with the Xiaomi ROM versions and updates.
But... As far as I can tell my phone hasn't received a system update for a very long time, my android security patch is Dated December last year and I'm still on miui 12.5.
Is this correct ? If not, how do I force the latest ROM.
My phone is on the stock ROM. Locked bootloader.

Try Belgium then outside Europe.
It doesn't work all the time, especially when you have a stable beta.
