Cruzerlite bugdroid case review - Nexus 5X Accessories

WILL UPDATE WHEN PHONE ARRIVES. THIS IS A PRE-INATALLATION REVIEW
Received my black Cruzerlite bugdroid case today.
Initial impressions is that Cruzerlite holds up to their name as a well made thin profile case at an extremely affordable price allowing you to have multiple colors, especially of you get their discounted 3 packs that they always offer. Big thanks to Cruzerlite for this unit. I will definitely be purchasing more colors so I have options.
I obviously don't have my phone yet so I can't speak to whether the cutouts are correct or not but all seems good so far. All cutouts are clean and straight and the camera cutout is molded to fit the hump properly. Near the power and volume rocker the material gets thinner which seems as though it was done to make the buttons easier to find and press...could work out well.
The black has a matte appearance and seems to offer a good grip.
Attached are pictures.. More pictures to come of installation when phone arrives.

Need help choosing between a few cases

Hi guys !
So I just ordered a 2014 Moto G. Need help on deciding what case to buy.
Do any of you have opinions/experiences on/with the following cases ? I need something thats slim yet protective. These are the cases that I am able to get locally (South Africa)
Fosmon Dura-Fro
Orzly FlexiCase
Cotechs Black Fusion Bumper
Theres also the Cruzerlite Bugdroid which is slightly out of my price range, but if its highly recommended, I'll consider it.
So yeah, any opinions wrt to the cases are welcome. Thanks !
Just got my Moto G2, waiting on this one: SUPCASE [Unicorn Beetle Series], sorry, can't post links yet.
I received the Bugdroid with a G1 I had previously bought used. I didn't like it, it had cutouts for the buttons, so they were harder to actuate,
it was kind of tight and a bit stiff. I also didn't care for the graphic on the back. The 3 you mentioned all get good reviews on Amazon,
the Fosmon has the most reviews.
Bugdroid
I'm currently using a lime green Bugdroid case on my G (2014). I have a love/hate relationship with it.. I love the color & design, however whenever debris gets up under the lip of the case, the material magnifies it, so I have to take the case off several times a day to remove debris, otherwise it looks atrocious.. Also, the cutouts aren't quite big enough to effectively hit the buttons. All in all, I'd stay away from it.. Mine will be coming off when my Dbrand skin comes next Wednesday/Thursday.
Edit: just looked at the Amazon listing for the Bugdroid, you may not have the debris issue with the pure black/white versions of the case, they don't look to be transparent like the rest of the color choices.

My Review of the Artech 21 [Vivid Arkansas Series] Ultra Slim Dual Layers Case

Having used the case only for 1 day, this is a well made, protective case. Not too thick, but adds a great layer of protection.
I have a white Galaxy Note 5, and the Mint color case looks excellent with it.
The raised bumper on the front keeps it from causing damage when laying face down.
The ridged design on the back is great for gripping without slipping.
The cut outs for S-Pen, charging and earphone are perfect and the button covers work quite easily.
I am extremely satisfied with this case and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good case at a definitely reasonable price.
In the past I owned another case that was similar in design, but the outer layer cracked soon after. I don't see that happening with this case.
The link to the case on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0130A2VCG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
There are other colors available.
I'll add my review here as well, I agree with all that catman51 had to say about the case. It's a lightweight case that should be good for average protection. It's not heavyweight protection but adequate for light use.
I have no issues using wireless charging with this case as I have with some other ones. I do not like the volume buttons, I would prefer having a space between them but that's personal preference.
A concern of mine is the back, it's not full dual layer. Where the black is, that's the only layer, and in order to keep the case light that rubber material is very thin. I fear with a decent drop the back of the phone might crack. I could be wrong but you know the thought process when you look at something and question it? That's how the back is.
Outside of that, the case is nice, lightweight and looks decent. It does not interfere with my tempered glass screen protector and doesn't really add any bulk to the phone.
My review...
DISCLAIMER: I received the case as a promotion in exchange for an unbiased review.
The case is solid and is a good value, but personally it's not for me. I'm not a big fan of the gold accents. Not to mention, it looks a bit duller in real life than in the seller's pictures.
The case is very slim and doesn't add too much size to the Note 5. With the phone already being large, it's nice to have a case that's not too bulky. The case also adds some nice grip to the phone--the texture on the back is a nice touch as well. Overall, the Artech 21 feels good in your hands.
The hole cut outs were accurate and it was easy to remove and insert my S-Pen. Just note that some chargers are larger than others and you might have an issue plugging yours in. It works perfectly fine with the OEM Samsung Charger, but at the office I have a long LG charging cable at my desk (see picture) and it didn't fit well.
The buttons were a bit on the mushy side--especially the volume keys. I prefer mine with a bit more feel--I like the click feeling that stock and some other cases have. Personal preference.
Anyway, if you are looking for a slim case and you like gold, this is the case for you...

Reviewed some new cases today from Artech 21

Got my cases from Artech 21 today and overall it's a pretty decent product that won't break the bank. I ordered the 3 cases they currently have available for the S7E. They all came on time and in good condition.
All 3 of these cases have a simple two part construction, Tpu with a poly carbonate bumper, The cutouts are all in the right places, and the fit is snug on your phone.
I received these cases at a discount in exchange for a honest review. I am in no way affiliated or compensated by Artech 21.
Dallas Lazer Series:
I'd say offers medium protection and a pretty streamline design. It's not a minimalist case but not to bulky, similar in size to a symmetry or UAG. Not sure if some of these are early production but neither case has any type of branding or button illustrations for power and volume. I got a red and a black one and both are like this. The inside of the case is shiny with a micro dot print for grip on the phone. The Amazon photos also shows the the trim lines around camera are chrome on both colors. Neither of mine have this. See pics
Pros:
Has lightweight construction, buttons feel responsive, good feel and grip with the design on back, had raised lip around screen.
Cons:
No branding (subjective)
Missing the chrome accents
Hybrid Jelly Dallas Series:
This case is exactly the same as the case above in terms of construction and deminsions. The only difference is the clear tpu back. Also no branding or illustrations on this one.
Pros:
Has lightweight construction, buttons feel responsive, good feel and grip with the design on back, had raised lip around screen.
Cons:
No branding (subjective)
Vivid Arkansas Series:
This is definitely the more complete product line for the S7E IMO. TPU with PC bumper but this model has a peice of PC across the back of the case protecting the camera. The tpu has a nice horizontal line patten cut on the outside for grip and a 3D cube "Nexus looking" pattern on the inside. This one also has branding on the inside and outside as well as all the illustrations on the power and volume buttons. Case is a little stiffer than the other models with that extra piece of PC. It's gonna be a little thicker than the others more similar in size to a commuter case.
Pros:
Lightweights construction, nice buttons and fit, stiff bumper with added support.
Cons:
Couldn't find anything wrong with this one.
Mod edit: Sales links removed.
I will be updating photos to show cases on phone soon.
Thread closed.
Artech 21 is not going to use XDA or its members to make money.

Let's talk about cases!

I'm looking for 2 types of cases (not necessary to have both features at same time):
1. Something with an in-built magnetic grip, in order to use it with magnetic car holders
2. A really rugged case.
I found these cases:
A. https://www.armor-x.com/bx3-nk19-9p...oof-rugged-case-for-outdoors-w-carabiner.html
B. https://lastu.co/collections/nokia/products/lastu-with-ring-stand
Is there anyone who got one of these cases and could give a very short real-life review?
Any other brands or models?
Thanks in advance.
I'm using this one and it is very thin light and useful

i made this one on www.case-custom.com
But i did not notice the alignment was a bit off. (the red hexagon was supposed to be in the center).
Ah well , i will see what i get quality wise before i order an improved one.
Remains to be seen if they get the alignment correct anway.

Interesting! Can you report back on the quality?
I have a case thats almost identical to your Armor one. I like it, its rugged but its just a little too slick for me. I wish it had some side ridges or grips. I always feel like its going to slide out of my hand, ofc it never does.
My Case is the Cruzerlite Carbon Fiber Shock.
I use SLEO Case - hard rubberized, very thin, light, grippy, excellent fit.
Here's a quick video of some cases I picked up.
Looking for Wallet Case
I have a tpu bumper case with a transparent hard acrylic back. It's fine. I am looking for a wallet case so I can carry my metro cards and work ID as well as use it to watch videos. Many cases fulfilling these requirements are on Amazon and Alibaba but they ALL USE MAGNETS! I will probably punch six holes in my old leather wallet case and call it a day.
Bought a beetop clear case , very happy with it. Thin, truly transparent and cutouts are nicely done.
Also bought a imak cleared case witch is exactly the opposite, thik, yellowish and cutouts are a bit messy.
The beetop was cheeper as well
I'm waiting for a proper heavy duty case that covers front and back, like Pelican/Otterbox.
I don't have this case, but it looks a bit more interesting than everything else I've been able to find. Thought I'd post this here for others looking for something different and to see if anyone plans to get it and leave a review here for the rest of us.

My guess is that wireless charging is impeded by this case.
For those not sporting cases, have you picked up scratches? I am currently using a transparent case, but it's not the same as case-free.
Also, anyone noticed any impact of cases and photos? I.e. cases effecting the light/shine in images?
I sue this one:

fits perfectly, lite and slim!

OnePlus 7T case roundup

Since I've bought a few different cases, I thought I'd do a roundup of them.
Nillkin Super Frosted Shield Matte:
Minimal case, but with a slight lip around the glass and camera bump protection. Full 360 degree coverage with tight cutouts and good buttons. A very tight, accurate fit; it won't bounce off if you drop it.
Covered with a bump pattern to make it grippy. Hard plastic that will likely crack on dropping.
For: people wanting to reduce the slipperiness of the phone, make the bump look less dumb, and protect from scratches and light drops.
Spigen Liquid Air:
Light by Spigen's chonky boi standards, this gives protection not far off their Rugged Armour series without the goofy carbon fibre accents. Looks good and fits great. Large protection lip around the screen and sufficient camera cover. Tasteful design. Not as grippy as you'd think, but better than just the phone.
For: serial phone-droppers who don't want to make their giant phone any more gigantic. A good compromise case.
Official "sandstone" bumper case:
More rugged than the Super Frosted Shield, but with openings for the rockers, buttons, and top and bottom.
Extremely grippy texture and a tight fit. Good screen lip protection and camera cover. Aesthetically a bit weird; a bit "HTC Desire era" with the big gaps all around. Tasteful OnePlus logo.
Colour and texture of an asteroid space station wall; really needs to have "REMEMBER THE CANT" spray painted on it.
For: official case fans who don't mind paying twice what it's worth (unless you find it on eBay). Daredevils. People who like to click the proper buttons.
All three are good, but if you spend the RRP on the official case, you should go get your face paint on and get to the circus, because you're a clown.
Good write-up ?. Though I tried a couple of cases - both military types and transparent types - I couldn't find any of them good. I still use the official transparent case that came with the phone. I couldn't find any better than this case.
For military types I hate them because of the thick bumper sides that eliminates the bezel-less nature of the phone. Yes the military types meant for that kinda protection but I don't like those cases. For the transparent ones none of them gives that extra bumper for the screen and back camera glass like the official Twitter m transparent case. All of them were sh*ts.
For my old Lenovo Z2 Plus, there were a vast variety of colored back covers with extra screen and back camera bumper protection. I had more than 20 cases in different types and colors. My MiA1 also has more than 10 different cases. Note that these weren't just cheap quality cases with some printed graphics, these were all in plain solid colors. I don't know why case manufacturers of 7T never make such kind of cases.
Two months ago I was planning to make a custom made plastic-printed case with the help of my friend, he has a 3d printer with him. I even made a 3d model of the phone and case in my PC. But due to the pandemic I had to stop the process. Not sure if I can do the further developments.
Sent from my OnePlus7T using XDA Labs
I’ve never understood why “military grade” is considered a selling point. Have these people never met someone who was in the military? Everything’s made by the lowest bidder!
I agree with the lack of case options. I don’t think the OnePlus 7T sold all that well or something, it’s disappointing.
I got my 7T used and it came with three official cases. I'll add to your list, if you don't mind.
Karbon Protective Case:
This case is just like the Sandstone in that the buttons, slider and top/bottom are exposed. The feel is interestingly rubbery, but a bit slippery. It is very thin and almost looks like a skin until you look closer. Not that it is that thin, but fits so well. It's so thin it adds nearly no weight. The OnePlus logo is far more pronounced than the Sandstone, and really pops being so silvery-white. It makes me wish the Sandstone had a silver/white logo, it's that good.
Sandstone Protective Case:
Basically everything you said. The grip is incredible and you will be hard-pressed to drop your phone unless you're being careless. An improvement over the 5T Sandstone as the texture is slightly better. My go-to case, really.
Red Silicone Bumper Case:
This thing is pure red. Wow, that red! It is noticeably more bulky than the Karbon and Sandstone. There is no lip for the camera bump because it's bulky enough to clear it. So the back is smooth all the way, no table wobble. The inside of the case is a nice suade. It actually is an awesome premium touch, and you feel good to know your phone is safe from even case scratches, lol. Covers all buttons, makes the slider a bit more difficult to reach (but not too much), and covers all the way around the top and bottom, leaving ample holes for the microphone, charging port and bottom speaker. There is an ample lip all the way around. The feel is similar to the Karbon but more grippy. Softer feeling. The logo is understated and just recessed in the silicone.
All of these cases feel very premium (to me) and the fit is so perfect I think they're worth the investment. Especially if they last as long as my Sandstone from the 5T I used since launch.
Update: I've been using the official Sandstone case as my daily driver for nearly four months now. I've had a bunch of drops from pocket height onto concrete without any damage to the phone, and the case texture hides the dings very well.
Would recommend again.
