Hi guys!
Since there's no IR Blaster in our devices, I've been trying to download an app to control my Samsung TV like I did when having Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5s but I'm unable to find anything official from Samsung.
I've downloaded Smart View 2.0 from Galaxy Apps but it gives insta-FC.
Any help?

Yeap, I'm interested too.
I've used it a lot on my Note4 and Tab S (before 5.01).
Now is not working anymore.

I use peel and works fine. My S6 Edge have IR of course. IF your smartphone don't have IR I think that is impossible to control your Samsung Tv with youe mobile phone.

My International S6Edge Plus doesn't have IR so therefore no remote control of my Samsung television

Certainly not impossible. If it's a smart TV you don't need an IR blaster. And the S6 edge and s6 have the IR, but for some reason the plus doesn't. Annoying.

I didn't find the official samsung app, but there is one that works very well. It is called Smart tv remote

Yes. As I said, it works over wifi. There's only one thing you can't do: Turn the TV on.

I noticed this app in the Samsung store under entertainment, it works brilliant to control your TV from your gear. Your phone needs to be near by of course. Just thought I would share.

Good good. Don't use IR remotes anymore. But this is definitely a brilliant way to use the Gear (or any smartwatch).
My hope is that Logitech will do something similar for their harmony app for the harmony smart or harmony ultimate. (or published a sdk for it). A big big advantage of the Logitech solution is that the remote app communicates via Wifi with a wifi hub which in turn translates the commands in IR code. Especially for a Smartwatch setup this works great. You don't need to point the phone because everything is send via Wifi instead of Infrared.

If it were available to me in the store I wouldn't have asked for the .apk but thank you none the less.
I just checked again and it's in the store for me now...
I don't have this either In the UK.. Maybe because I'm using a Note 2?

A trick, i'm not sure if it will work.
Access the Samsung Apps via the Gear Manager. I did and live in Venezuela and no problems, downloaded the remote from peel.

It never connects for me. I am running Null 11 though so I wonder if that has something to do with it??

Its working for me, but it always acts like a DVR and I can't get it to show me channel change, just volume and dvr controls. My cable box is also a dvr.

Not yet. There are talks about people working on it but so far it is not possible.
This would make me want to keep my Gear Neo if we could use Google Now. I keep going back to my LG G Watch because Google Now works so much better than S-Voice. I like the hardware of the Neo, just not the software

In the latest builds, the hardware works. All that doesn't work is having phone conversations on the Gear and the photo gallery.
I really wish we could dual boot between the two. I like features of both and neither has any particular thing that'll keep me from the other.
I will have to try it. Do you have a link to where I can get the instructions and download information?

No, they dont have the dune wave etc...
Notification only has an ugly box that can flash
There are Edge add-on in the galaxy store, but SMS notification is a paid app.
It would be so nice if......
when every notifies the screen edge turn on just like a feed !!!

Hi all,
i hope most of the people here knows about quickconnect which enables mobile to tv , tv to mobile streaming . The problem is streaming tv to mobile is not working after root, i just noted it today. mobile to tv works good with a build.prop tweak but the vice versa dosent work, any solution/suggestions ?

I do not know for sure but it sounds like a DRM thing. I do not know why it would work one way and not the other though.

I never tried this feature, is it a part of tw systemui or a separate apk? Can you upload a deodexed version of the apk? I don't own a Samsung device right now, so i cannot try it.
