LG Leon OTA update - Xiaomi Redmi 2 Guides, News, & Discussion

I'll create a thread for the OTA update.
What we know
h345 gets it
60.4 mb
I know you get it if you are on h34510e, don't know about 10d
NOT marshmallow, probably stagefright or some other security patch.
May not work with custom recovery
When I tried to install it, it rebooted to TWRP, and I had to manually boot to to system. When I got back in, nothing changed, but the notification is gone...so I don't know if it actually updated or not...

[Q] Custom ROM - 'We want ICS' OTA?

There was a system update yesterday but I didnt know whether to flash it. It was a mere 5.36 MB so I decided to flash it anyway. The phone rebooted and took me straight to the android exclamation screen and stayed there for a while. I had to hard reset my phone in order to get it up. No problem since then but when I checked for software updates again in settings it shows me that an install is pending. Do I install it again. Anyone else faced a similar issue? Also how did I get this OTA. Obviously I am on a custom ROM and it clearly shows OTAs disabled in the final update as shown in the link below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1686583
OTA is not disabled in the v3 rom, I also I have received the update, is an official update one S which is the basis of the nik ROM when flashing the update that damages everything so you do not have to do

who received the 5.02 ota in xt1093?

i want to update to lollipop but say my phone its already updated.... i saw in android development that uploaded the update already... but is a backup and i dont want to lose my information.
If you flash only the system and boot images it won't affect userdata. Unless you erase it yourself.
Oh, and do backup your existing image first before you do anything.
I just got my phone from USCellular on 2/16, and today (2/18) did the Lollipop OTA update. Still not sure if I like it or how everything is working.
i didnt not received it u.u had to manually update... could it be because i had custom recovery or root?

How to get back OTA update on N7 2012 mobile

Hi all, yesterday i got an ota notification for 5.1 on my N7 2012 mobile version, but coz i rooted before, the update was not successful. I tried to make a search in the internet for the download but strangely, there is no image uploaded for nakasig over there. Now i already did a full clean install on 5.0.2, and tried to push Check for update many times, but no ota ever happened again. How can i get it back? Anyone knows it, pls let me know. Many thanks!
Also in exactly the same boat. Fresh install of 5.0.2 on N7 2012, rooted. OTA update to 5.1 fails every time. Any advice?
The OTA will fail if you use a custom recovery (twrp or cwm). If you fastboot flash the stock recovery image, the OTA should work. The factory image is available for the wifi version, so you could update to 5.1 using it with fastboot. I don't know if the mobile factory image version has been released, but if not, it should be soon.

pblem with restart's and stuck device

hi
all, i have nexus 6 device with 6.0 MRA58R and open bootloader and it was update by the device from google, still before that i try to do root and didn't succeedwith 5.1, so i go back to 5.1 and it was update as i said but the device is stuck by the start or just by regular use...something is wrong and i don't know what, there is also sound when it stuck like A screech sound and it stuck
what to do next?
thanks
If your bootloader is unlocked, as mentioned in your other thread, download a stock image from Google and flash its components (except userdata.img) using ADB. As a result of your tinkering, something got messed up on the device, and flashing the stock image should resolve that.
tried these ...didn't help,it stuckes even after good flash with adb cause with OTA it stucks at the middle
You flashed MMB29Q from the shamu section of the page here? That is the absolute latest factory image available. There should be NO OTA update available.
first of all i tried to download the OTA cause i was with root and did unroot and i want to saw thet it get's the OTA's correct ,then i installed the version as you write, but still when i start the wifi or in regular use the device can be stuck and restart.
any idea to solve it? even in safe mode it stucks
No, not really. Like you mention in your other thread, it appears to be a hardware problem.
For the record, downloading the OTA updates is a waste of time when the latest factory image is available. When you get your replacement device, assuming it's not already on 6.0.1, install the image from the link I gave you, as it already includes in the image all the updates Google has released for Android 6.0.1.

Issues with android security patch level

Hello everyone.
I`ve got rooted Nexus 6 with Franco kernel. From time to time it shows system security updates, which I install`s. But I notices on my android security patch level stops on January 2016 and still want to install February updates. Everytime N6 tries to install February updates. Does anybody know whats going on? Maybe it`s because I locked with security password on my twrp? After rebooting twrp show`s and I really dont know are updates installed well. I quess not. Can someone help?
And another question, does this android security updates will remove my root?

Security updates will not work; unless the device is completely stock.
You should look at installing the OTA from this page - instructions are provided. If you want to retain the kernel,TWRP & and root you'll have to re-flash them when you're finished.
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/ota
If you're unencrypted (I'm not - I prefer the security to an extra 10 minutes of battery life) do some reading first - I'm not sure how the OTA works with an unencrypted device. Maybe other members can advise both of us on this point.
Thx for answer`s.
Correct me if I wrong, but I`ve got stock rom, but with Franco kernel, and root, but it`s still stock, right? Does this could be a reason? All my data are encrypted, so maybe this could be a reason ( however after every update reboot I decrypt`s my data), I`ll switch off encrypting my N6 and try again update it.
----------EDIT------------
Guess, NLBeev was right. I can`t make an OTA update when my N6 is rooted, only manually method. I really afraid of this manually updates, because of losing something from my phone, or even brick it.
fear is something that xda can not help you with. itll happen through out life, in many situations. the only thing that you can do is deal with it and move on.
I manually update mine every update and have yet to have an issue.
I f you're encrypted (good!) then my earlier concern is irrelevant. Sideload the newest OTA at the link I gave you. I've done it now several times with two Nexus 5s and a Nexus 6. It's quick and simple and doesn't touch your data.
But I still always take a TWRP backup first and copy it to my laptop. Can't be too careful...
Once again thanks for help! I`ll try install them manually, as fast as I make backup by twrp.
Ach, I forgot, last question, which update should I download? I`ve got January system security updates, so should I download every single one by one? Or just last one (July 6.0.1 (MOB30O))?
Regards!
By "manually' do you mean extracting the separate components (system, radio, boot...)? I strongly recommend the OTA sideload method. Fast and simple, with no data loss.
You need only do it once. Download the MOB30O OTA and sideload it. Then if you want you can flash TWRP and root.
